We consider the spin-1/2 Heisenberg XXZ chain in the regime of large Ising-like anisotropy $Δ$. By a combination of duality and Jordan-Wigner transformations we derive a mapping to weakly interacting spinless fermions, which represent domain walls between the two degenerate ground states. We develop a perturbative expansion in $1Δ$ for the transverse dynamical spin structure factor at finite temperatures and in an applied transverse magnetic field. We present a unified description for both the low-energy temperature-activated response and the temperature evolution of the T=0 two-spinon continuum. We find that the two-spinon continuum narrows in energy with increasing temperature. At the same time spectral weight is transferred from the two-spinon continuum to the low energy intraband scattering continuum, which is strongly peaked around the position of the (single) spinon dispersion (`Villain mode').
The spin-1/2 Heisenberg orthogonal-dimer chain is considered within the perturbative strong-coupling approach, which is developed from the exactly solved spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg orthogonal-dimer chain with the Heisenberg intradimer and the Ising interdimer couplings. Although the spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg orthogonal-dimer chain exhibits just intermediate plateaux at zero, one-quarter and one-half of the saturation magnetization, the perturbative treatment up to second order stemming from this exactly solvable model additionally corroborates the fractional one-third plateau as well as the gap…
Using an exact diagonalization treatment of Ising and Heisenberg model Hamiltonians, we study field-induced phase transition for two-dimensional antiferromagnets. For the system of Ising antiferromagnet the predicted field-induced phase transition is of first order, while for the system of Heisenberg antiferromagnet it is the second-order transition. We find from the exact diagonalization calculations that the second-order phase transition (metamagnetism) occurs through a spin-flop process as an intermediate step.
We consider a geometrically frustrated spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain, which is an exactly solvable model when assuming part of the exchange interactions as Heisenberg ones and another part as Ising ones. A small $XY$ part is afterwards perturbatively added to the Ising couplings, which enabled us to derive an effective Hamiltonian describing the low-energy behavior of the modified but full quantum version of the initial model. The effective model is much simpler and free of frustration. It is shown that the $XY$ part added to the originally Ising interaction gives rise to the spin-li…
We examine the influence of weak anisotropic interactions on the T=0 phase diagram of the frustrated two-leg Heisenberg ladder, a well-studied spin model exhibiting integer and fractional magnetization plateaux separated by gapless incommensurate states. We find that the Dzyaloshinskii--Moriya coupling may substantially modify the phase diagram so that the half-integer plateau and the surrounding gapless phases merge into a single Ising-ordered phase breaking the translational symmetry of the lattice. A different Ising order is found for a weakly frustrated ladder. Implications for experimenta…
We report a combined analytical and density matrix renormalized group study of the antiferromagnetic XXZ spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain subject to a uniform Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction and a transverse magnetic field. The numerically determined phase diagram of this model, which features two ordered Ising phases and a critical Luttinger liquid one with fully broken spin-rotational symmetry, agrees well with the predictions of Garate and Affleck [Phys. Rev. B 81, 144419 (2010)]. We also confirm the prevalence of the N z Néel Ising order in the regime of comparable DM and magnetic field ma…
The spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ delta-chain (sawtooth chain) with antiferromagnetic Heisenberg basal chain and Ising apical-basal interactions is studied. The basal-apical interactions involve the bond alternation. The limiting cases of the model include the symmetrical delta-chain and the antiferromagnetic chain in the staggered magnetic field. We study ground state properties of the model by the exact diagonalization and density matrix renormalization group methods. The ground state phase diagram as a function of the bond alternation consists of magnetic and various non-magnetic phases. All phases ex…
A mixed Ising-Heisenberg spin system consisting of triangular XXZ-Heisenberg spin clusters assembled into a chain by alternating with Ising spins interacting to all three spins in the triangle is considered. The exact solution of the model is given in terms of the generalized decoration--iteration map and within the transfer-matrix technique. Exact expressions for thermodynamic functions are derived. Ground state phase diagrams, thermodynamic and magnetic properties of the system are examined.
Most quantum entanglement investigations are focused on two qubits or some finite (small) chain structure, since the infinite chain structure is a considerably cumbersome task. Therefore, the quantum entanglement properties involving an infinite chain structure is quite important, not only because the mathematical calculation is cumbersome but also because real materials are well represented by an infinite chain. Thus, in this paper we consider an entangled diamond chain with Ising and anisotropic Heisenberg (Ising-XXZ) coupling. Two interstitial particles are coupled through Heisenberg coupli…
Using an SU(2) invariant finite-temperature tensor network algorithm, we provide strong numerical evidence in favor of an Ising transition in the collinear phase of the spin-1/2 $J_1-J_2$ Heisenberg model on the square lattice. In units of $J_2$, the critical temperature reaches a maximal value of $T_c/J_2\simeq 0.18$ around $J_2/J_1\simeq 1.0$. It is strongly suppressed upon approaching the zero-temperature boundary of the collinear phase $J_2/J_1\simeq 0.6$, and it vanishes as $1/\log(J_2/J_1)$ in the large $J_2/J_1$ limit, as predicted by Chandra, Coleman and Larkin [Phys. Rev. Lett. 64, 88…
Based on exact diagonalization data for finite quantum Heisenberg antiferromagnets on two frustrated lattices (two-leg ladder and bilayer) and analytical arguments we map low-energy degrees of freedom of the spin models in a magnetic field on classical lattice-gas models. Further we use transfer-matrix calculations and classical Monte Carlo simulations to give a quantitative description of low-temperature thermodynamics of the quantum spin models. The classical lattice-gas model yields an excellent description of the quantum spin models up to quite large temperatures. The main peculiarity of t…
We have considered the $S=1/2$ antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model in two dimensions, with an additional Ising \nnn interaction. Antiferromagnetic \nnn interactions will lead to frustration, and the system responds with flipping the spins down in the $xy$ plane. For large next nearest neighbour coupling the system will order in a striped phase along the z axis, this phase is reached through a first order transition. We have considered two generalizations of this model, one with random \nnn interactions, and one with an enlarged unit cell, where only half of the atoms have \nnn interactions. In …
Magnetization plateaus and enhanced magnetocaloric effect of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg and Heisenberg double sawtooth ladder with four-spin interaction
The effect of the canting of local anisotropy axes on the ground-state phase diagram and magnetization of a ferrimagnetic chain with regularly alternating Ising and Heisenberg spins is exactly examined in an arbitrarily oriented magnetic field. It is shown that individual contributions of Ising and Heisenberg spins to the total magnetization basically depend on the spatial orientation of the magnetic field and the canting angle between two different local anisotropy axes of the Ising spins.
We study isotropic antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chains coupled by antiferromagnetic Ising interaction as an effective spin model for the ytterbium aluminum perovskite YbAlO$_3$. Using the density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method we calculate the magnetization curve, local spin, central charge, and dynamical spin structure factors in the presence of magnetic field. From the fitting of the experimental magnetization curve, the effective intrachain and interchain couplings are estimated as $J=2.3$K and $J_{\rm ic}=0.8$K, respectively. We can quantitatively explain the experimental obser…
The quantum spin-1/2 orthogonal-dimer chain with the Heisenberg intra-dimer and Ising inter-dimer interactions in a magnetic field is considered by a rigorous approach. The model conserves the z-component of total spin on vertical Heisenberg bonds and this property is used to calculate exactly the partition function using the transfer-matrix method. We have found the ground-state phase diagram of the given model in a magnetic field as well as the macroscopic degeneracy along field-induced transitions accompanied with the magnetization jumps. The model exhibits two intermediate fractional plate…
We analyze the problem of microwave absorption by the Heisenberg-Ising magnet in terms of shifted moments of the imaginary part of the dynamical susceptibility. When both, the Zeeman field and the wave vector of the incident microwave, are parallel to the anisotropy axis, the first four moments determine the shift of the resonance frequency and the line width in a situation where the frequency is varied for fixed Zeeman field. For the one-dimensional model we can calculate the moments exactly. This provides exact data for the resonance shift and the line width at arbitrary temperatures and mag…
The magnetocaloric effect in the symmetric spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain with the Ising four-spin interaction is investigated using the generalized decoration-iteration mapping transformation and the transfer-matrix technique. The entropy and the Gruneisen parameter, which closely relate to the magnetocaloric effect, are exactly calculated to compare the capability of the system to cool in the vicinity of different field-induced ground-state phase transitions during the adiabatic demagnetization.
The two dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice with nearest (J1) and next-nearest (J2) neighbor couplings is investigated in the strong frustration regime (J2/J1>1/2). A new effective field theory describing the long wavelength physics of the model is derived from the quantum hamiltonian. The structure of the resulting non linear sigma model allows to recover the known spin wave results in the collinear regime, supports the presence of an Ising phase transition at finite temperature and suggests the possible occurrence of a non-magnetic ground state breaking rotational sy…
The Jahn-Teller model with $E\otimesβ$ electron-phonon coupling and local (Hubbard-like) Coulomb interaction is considered to describe a lattice system with two orbitals per site at half filling. Starting from a state with one electron per site, we follow the tunneling of the electrons and the associated creation of an arbitrary number of phonons due to electron-phonon interaction. For this purpose we apply a recursive method which allows us to organize systematically the number of pairs of empty/doubly occupied sites and to include infinitely many phonons which are induced by electronic tunne…
The exchange interaction between 5d electrons in t$_{2g}$ orbitals is derived in the J-J coupling scheme which is the appropriate basis in the case of strong spin-orbit interaction. From simple calculations, it is found that ferromagnetic Ising interaction (quantum compass model) occurs due to a selection rule of hybridization between $Γ_7$ and $Γ_8$ orbitals, while antiferromagnetic Heisenberg interaction appears from hybridization between $Γ_7$ orbitals. It is also found that the ferromagnetic Ising interaction becomes small as the spin-orbit interaction increases. Thus, the sign of exchange…
Dynamical correlation functions contain important physical information on correlated spin models. Here a dynamical theory suitable suitable to the isotropic spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain in a longitudinal magnetic field is extended to anisotropy larger than one . The aim of this paper is the study of the line shape of the spin dynamical structure factor components +-, -+ and zz of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising chain in a longitudinal magnetic field near their sharp peaks. To reach that goal, the nature of the specific type of elementary magnetic configurations both unbound and associated with real…
The one dimensional (1D) spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising model, a prototype quantum many-body system, has been intensively studied for many years. In this review, after a short introduction on some basic concepts of group theory for the octahedral group, a detailed pedagogical framework is laid down to derive the low-energy effective Hamiltonian for the Co-based materials. The 1D spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising model is obtained when applying the analysis to quasi-1D antiferromagnetic materials $\rm BaCo_2V_2O_8$ and $\rm SrCo_2V_2O_8$. After the preparation, we review the theoretical progresses of a vari…
Various versions of the Bethe ansatz are suggested for evaluation of scattering two-magnon states in 2D and 3D Heisenberg-Ising ferromagnets. It is shown that for 2D square (3D qubic) finite-periodic or infinite lattices about a half (3/4) of states have a correctly 2D- (3D-) generalized Bethe form. The remaining scattering states are treated (on the infinite lattices only) within the degenerative discrete-diffractive modification of the Bethe ansatz previously suggested by the author.
Motivated by the recent discoveries of some compounds such as the $\mathrm{Bi}_{2}\mathrm{Fe}_{4}\mathrm{O}_{9}$ which crystallizes in an orthorhombic crystal structure with the $\mathrm{Fe}^{3+}$ ions, and iron-based oxyfluoride ${\rm Bi}_{4}{\rm Fe}_{5}{\rm O}_{13}{\rm F}$ compounds following the pattern of Cairo pentagonal structure, among some other compounds. We propose a model for one stripe of the Cairo pentagonal Ising-Heisenberg lattice, one of the edges of a pentagon is different, and this edge will be associated with a Heisenberg exchange interaction, while the Ising exchange intera…
The hole-doped standard and extended t-J models on ladders with anisotropic Heisenberg interactions are studied computationally in the interval $0.0 \leq λ\leq 1.0$ ($λ=0$, Ising; $λ=1$, Heisenberg). It is shown that the approximately half-doped stripes recently discussed at $λ=1$ survive in the anisotropic case ($λ$$<$1.0), particularly in the "extended" model. Due to the absence of spin fluctuations in the Ising limit and working in the rung basis, a simple picture emerges in which the stripe structure can be mostly constructed from the solution of the t-J model on chains. A comparison of re…
The entanglement quantum properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a symmetrical diamond chain were analyzed. Due to the separable nature of the Ising-type exchange interactions between neighboring Heisenberg dimers, calculation of the entanglement can be performed exactly for each individual dimer. Pairwise thermal entanglement was studied in terms of the isotropic Ising-Heisenberg model, and analytical expressions for the concurrence (as a measure of bipartite entanglement) were obtained. The effects of external magnetic field $H$ and next-nearest neighbor interaction $J_m$ between …
An exactly solvable model of the sawtooth chain with Ising and Heisenberg bonds and with coupling to lattice distortion for Heisenberg bonds is considered in the magnetic field. Using the direct transfer-matrix formalism an exact description of the thermodynamic functions is obtained. The ground state phase diagrams for all regions of parameters values containing phases corresponding to the magnetization plateaus at $M=0,1/4$ and 1/2 have been obtained. Exact formulas for bond distortions for various ground states are presented. A novel mechanism of magnetization plateau stabilization correspo…
We consider the quantum quench dynamics of a Heisenberg-Ising spin ladder which is an archetypal model in which confinement of elementary excitations is triggered by internal interactions rather than an external field. We show that the confinement strongly affects the light cone structure of correlation functions providing signatures of the velocities of the mesons of the model. We also show that the meson masses can be measured from the real time analysis of the evolution of the order parameter.
We report the neutron scattering results on magnetic orderings and excitations in $\mathrm{Ba}_2\mathrm{CoTeO}_6$ composed of two almost isolated subsystems A and B, which are described as an $S\,{=}\,1/2$ triangular Heisenberg-like antiferromagnet and a frustrated honeycomb Ising-like antiferromagnet, respectively. Stripy ordering of subsystem B was confirmed below $T_{\rm N1}\,{=}\,12.0$ K, whereas sharp streaks were observed along $(1/3, 1/3, L)$ and $(2/3, 2/3, L)$ at 0.3 K (${\ll}\,T_{\rm N2}\,{=}\,3.0$ K). This indicates the two-dimensional nature of ordering in subsystem A. It was found…
Thermal entanglement, magnetic and quadrupole moments properties of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising-Heisenberg model on a diamond chain are considered. Magnetization and quadrupole moment plateaus are observed for the antiferromagnetic couplings. Thermal negativity as a measure of quantum entanglement of the mixed spin system is calculated. Different behavior for the negativity is obtained for the various values of Heisenberg dipolar and quadrupole couplings. The intermediate plateau of the negativity has been observed at absence of the single-ion anisotropy and quadrupole interaction term…
Ground-state and finite-temperature properties of the exactly solvable mixed spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg planar model composed of identical trigonal bipyramids that are arranged into a regular archimedean lattice are examined with the aim to clarify the frustration phenomenon at zero and finite temperatures. It is shown that the ground-state spin frustration persists even far above the second-order phase transition. If the interaction ratio between the Heisenberg and Ising exchange interactions is close enough to the ground-state boundaries between the neighboring phases, a remarkable re-entranc…
Low-temperature magnetization curves and thermodynamics of a frustrated spin-1/2 Heisenberg triangular bilayer with the antiferromagnetic intradimer interaction and either ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic interdimer interaction are investigated in a highly frustrated parameter region, where localized many-magnon eigenstates provide the most dominant contribution to magnetothermodynamics. Low-energy states of the highly frustrated spin-1/2 Heisenberg triangular bilayer can be accordingly found from a mapping correspondence with an effective triangular-lattice spin-1/2 Ising model in a field. …
Motivated by the properties of the iron chalcogenides, we study the phase diagram of a generalized Heisenberg model with frustrated bilinear-biquadratic interactions on a square lattice. We identify zero-temperature phases with antiferroquadrupolar and Ising-nematic orders. The effects of quantum fluctuations and interlayer couplings are analyzed. We propose the Ising-nematic order as underlying the structural phase transition observed in the normal state of FeSe, and discuss the role of the Goldstone modes of the antiferroquadrupolar order for the dipolar magnetic fluctuations in this system.…
We consider an exactly solvable version of the quantum spin-1/2 orthogonal-dimer chain with the Heisenberg intra-dimer and Ising inter-dimer couplings. The investigated quantum spin system exhibits at zero temperature fractional plateaux at 1/4 and 1/2 of the saturation magnetization and it has a highly degenerate ground state at critical fields where the magnetization jumps. We study the field dependence of the specific heat at low temperature. The lattice-gas description is formulated in a vicinity of critical fields to explain the low-temperature behaviour of specific heat.
A symmetric spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain with the Ising four-spin interaction is exactly solved by means of the generalized decoration-iteration mapping transformation. The ground state, the magnetization process and thermodynamics are particularly examined for the case of antiferromagnetic pair interactions (Ising and isotropic Heisenberg ones). It is shown that an interplay between pair interactions, the four-spin interaction and the external magnetic field gives rise to several quantum ground states with entangled spin states in addition to some semi-classically ordered ones. Bes…
The spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg three-leg tube composed of the Heisenberg spin triangles mutually coupled through the Ising inter-triangle interaction is exactly solved in a zero magnetic field. By making use of the local conservation for the total spin on each Heisenberg spin triangle the model can be rigorously mapped onto a classical composite spin-chain model, which is subsequently exactly treated through the transfer-matrix method. The ground-state phase diagram, correlation functions, concurrence, Bell function, entropy and specific heat are examined in detail. It is shown that the spin fr…
We consider a bilayer quantum spin model with anisotropic intra-layer exchange couplings. By varying the anisotropy, the quantum critical phenomena changes from XY to Heisenberg to Ising universality class, with two, three and one modes respectively becoming gapless simultaneously. We use series expansion methods to calculate the second and third Renyi entanglement entropies when the system is bipartitioned into two parts. Leading area-law terms and subleading entropies associated with corners are separately calculated. We find clear evidence that the logarithmic singularity associated with th…
Magnetoelectric effect of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising ladder in a presence of the external electric and magnetic fields is rigorously examined by taking into account Katsura-Nagaosa-Balatsky mechanism. It is shown that the applied electric field may control a quantum phase transition between the Néel (stripy) ordered phase and the disordered paramagnetic phase. The staggered magnetization vanishes according to a power law with the Ising-type critical exponent 1/8, the electric polarization exhibits a weak singularity and the dielectric susceptibility shows a logarithmic divergence at this pa…
Thermal first-order phase transitions, Ising critical points, and reentrance in the Ising-Heisenberg model on the diamond-decorated square lattice in a magnetic field
Quantum phase transitions (QPTs) and the ground-state phase diagram of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising alternating chain (HIAC) with uniform Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction are investigated by a matrix-product-state (MPS) method. By calculating the odd- and even-string order parameters, we recognize two kinds of Haldane phases, i.e., the odd- and even-Haldane phases. Furthermore, doubly degenerate entanglement spectra on odd and even bonds are observed in odd- and even-Haldane phases, respectively. A rich phase diagram including four different phases, i.e., an antiferromagnetic (AF), AF s…
A microscopic mean-field theory of the phase coexistence between ferromagnetism and superconductivity in the weakly ferromagnetic itinerant electron system is constructed, while incorporating a realistic mechanism for superconducting pairing due to the exchange of critical spin fluctuations. The self-consistent solution of the resulting equations determines the superconducting transition temperature which is shown to depend strongly on the exchange splitting. The effect of phase crossover from isotropic (Heisenberg-like) to uniaxial (Ising-like) spin fluctuations near the quantum phase transit…
Ground-state behaviour of the frustrated quantum spin-1/2 two-leg ladder with the Heisenberg intra-rung and Ising inter-rung interactions is examined in detail. The investigated model is transformed to the quantum Ising chain with composite spins in an effective transverse and longitudinal field by employing either the bond-state representation or the unitary transformation. It is shown that the ground state of the Heisenberg-Ising ladder can be descended from three exactly solvable models: the quantum Ising chain in a transverse field, the 'classical' Ising chain in a longitudinal field or th…
We study the thermodynamics of the spin-$S$ two-dimensional quantum Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice with nearest ($J_1$) and next-nearest ($J_2$) neighbor couplings in its collinear phase ($J_2/J_1>0.5$), using the pure-quantum self-consistent harmonic approximation. Our results show the persistence of a finite-temperature Ising phase transition for every value of the spin, provided that the ratio $J_2/J_1$ is greater than a critical value corresponding to the onset of collinear long-range order at zero temperature. We also calculate the spin- and temperature-dependence of the…
The magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the mixed spin-(1/2,1) Ising-Heisenberg model on a two-leg ladder with dimer-rung alternation are exactly examined under an adiabatic demagnetization process using the transfer-matrix formalism. We notify that the magnetization curve of the model exhibits plateaux as a function of the applied magnetic field and cyclic four-spin Ising interaction at certain rational fractions of the saturation value. We precisely investigate the ability of cooling/heating of the model nearby the critical points at which discontinuous ground-state phase transition oc…
Typically two particles (spins) could be maximally entangled at zero temperature, and for a certain temperature the phenomenon of entanglement vanishes at the threshold temperature. For the Heisenberg coupled model or even the Ising model with a transverse magnetic field, one can observe some rise of entanglement even for a disentangled region at zero temperature. So we can understand this emergence of entanglement at finite temperature as being due to the mixing of some maximally entangled states with some other untangled states. Here, we present a simple one-dimensional Ising model with alte…
In the present paper, a study of the magnetic properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg Cairo pentagonal structure is presented. The model has been investigated in Ref. [34] in the absence of external magnetic field. Here, we consider the effects of an external tunable magnetic field. By using the transfer matrix approach, we investigate the magnetic ground-state phase transition, the low-temperature magnetization process, and how the magnetic field influences the various thermodynamic parameters such as entropy, internal energy and specific heat. It is shown that the model exhibits intermedia…
A classical-quantum chain composed of regularly alternating Ising and Heisenberg spins is rigorously solved by considering two distinct local anisotropy axes of the Ising spins. The ground-state phase diagram and magnetization curves are examined depending on a spatial orientation of the applied magnetic field. The phase diagram totally consists of four distinct phases and a few macroscopically degenerate points, where an outstanding coexistence of perfect order and complete disorder occurs within the so-called 'half-fire, half-ice' state. The zero-temperature magnetization curves generally ex…
The ground state and magnetization process of an exactly solved spin-$1/2$ Ising-Heisenberg orthogonal-dimer chain with two different gyromagnetic factors of the Ising and Heisenberg spins are investigated in detail. It is shown that the investigated quantum spin chain exhibits up to seven possible ground states depending on a mutual interplay of the magnetic field, intra- and inter-dimer coupling constants. More specifically, the frustrated and modulated quantum antiferromagnetic phases are responsible in zero-temperature magnetization curves for a zero magnetization plateau. The intermediate…
An exactly solvable variant of mixed spin-(1/2,1) Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain is considered. Vertical spin-1 dimers are taken as quantum ones with Heisenberg bilinear and biquadratic interactions and with single-ion anisotropy, while all interactions between spin-1 and spin-1/2 residing on the intermediate sites are taken in the Ising form. The detailed analysis of the $T=0$ ground state phase diagram is presented. The phase diagrams have shown to be rather rich, demonstrating large variety of ground states: saturated one, three ferrimagnetic with magnetization equal to 3/5 and another four…
Ferromagnetic-paramagnetic phase transitions in classical and quantum thin films have been studied up to 50 mono-layers using effective field theory with two-site cluster approximation. Variation of the Curie temperature as a function of film thickness has been examined. The relative shift of the Curie temperature from the corresponding bulk value has been investigated in terms of the shift exponent $λ$. We have found that shift exponent $λ$ clearly depends on the strength of the ferromagnetic exchange coupling of the surface. Moreover, we have not observed any significant difference between c…
Recently, it has been rigorously verified that several one-dimensional (1D) spin models may exhibit a peculiar pseudo-transition accompanied with anomalous response of thermodynamic quantities in a close vicinity of pseudo-critical temperature. In the present work we will introduce and exactly solve a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Ising-Heisenberg double-tetrahedral chain in an external magnetic field as another particular example of 1D lattice-statistical model with short-range interactions that displays a pseudo-transition of this type. The investigated model exhibits at zero temperature three ferrimag…
The Heisenberg-Ising spin ladder is one of the few short-range models showing confinement of elementary excitations without the need of an external field, neither transverse nor longitudinal. This feature makes the model suitable for an experimental realization with ultracold atoms. In this paper, we combine analytic and numerical techniques to precisely characterize its spectrum in the regime of Hamiltonian parameters showing confinement. We find two kinds of particles, which we dub intrachain and interchain mesons, that correspond to bound states of kinks within the same chain or between dif…
We have established a quantum antiferromagnetic Heisenberg-Ising model on a spin-1/2 pyrochlore edge-shared ladder with Heisenberg intra-rung and Ising inter-rung interactions as a perspicuous candidate to exhibit magnetization mid and zero plateaus, characteristic peaks of magnetic susceptibility, and thermal entanglement mid plateau. The model is exactly solvable and thus, all the essential properties such as the thermal entanglement and the magnetic properties of the system can be exactly calculated. The calculations are done both through the transfer matrix technique and through the reduce…
