This is an expository article describing recent results of the authors and David Nadler on microlocalization, the Fukaya category, and coherent sheaves on toric varieties. The original papers are arXiv:math/0604379, arXiv:math/0612399 and arXiv:0811.1228v1.
We prove the nonequivariant coherent-constructible correspondence conjectured by Fang-Liu-Treumann-Zaslow in the case of toric surfaces. Our proof is based on describing a semi-orthogonal decomposition of the constructible side under toric point blow-up and comparing it with Orlov's theorem.
The nonequivariant coherent-costructible correspondence is a microlocal-geometric interpretation of homological mirror symmetry for toric varieties conjectured by Fang-Liu-Treumann-Zaslow. We prove a generalization of this conjecture for a class of toric stacks which includes any toric varieties and toric orbifolds. Our proof is based on gluing descriptions of $\infty$-categories of both sides.
We study homological mirror symmetry for toric varieties, exploring the relationship between various Fukaya-Seidel categories which have been employed for constructing the mirror to a toric variety. In particular, we realize tropical Lagrangian sections as objects of a partially wrapped category and construct a Lagrangian correspondence mirror to the inclusion of a toric divisor. As a corollary, we prove that tropical sections generate the Fukaya-Seidel category, completing a Floer-theoretic proof of homological mirror symmetry for projective toric varieties. In the course of the proof, we dev…
Given a smooth projective toric variety $X_Σ$ of complex dimension $n$, Fang-Liu-Treumann-Zaslow \cite{FLTZ} showed that there is a quasi-embedding of the differential graded (dg) derived category of coherent sheaves $Coh(X_Σ)$ into the dg derived category of constructible sheaves on a torus $Sh(T^n, Λ_Σ)$. Recently, Kuwagaki \cite{Ku2} proved that the quasi-embedding is a quasi-equivalence, and generalized the result to toric stacks. Here we give a different proof in the smooth projective case, using non-characteristic deformation of sheaves to find twisted polytope sheaves that co-represent …
We use Lagrangian torus fibrations on the mirror $X$ of a toric Calabi-Yau threefold $\check X$ to construct Lagrangian sections and various Lagrangian spheres on $X$. We then propose an explicit correspondence between the sections and line bundles on $\check X$ and between spheres and sheaves supported on the toric divisors of $\check X$. We conjecture that these correspondences induce an embedding of the relevant derived Fukaya category of $X$ inside the derived category of coherent sheaves on $\check X$.
Mirror symmetry for a toric variety involves Laurent polynomials whose symplectic topology is related to the algebraic geometry of the toric variety. We show that there is a monodromy action on the monomially admissible Fukaya-Seidel categories of these Laurent polynomials as the arguments of their coefficients vary that corresponds under homological mirror symmetry to tensoring by a line bundle naturally associated to the monomials whose coefficients are rotated. In the process, we introduce the monomially admissible Fukaya-Seidel category as a new interpretation of the Fukaya-Seidel category…
This is a sequel to our paper arXiv:2008.13462, where we proposed a definition of the Morse homotopy of the moment polytope of toric manifolds. Using this as the substitute of the Fukaya category of the toric manifolds, we proved a version of homological mirror symmetry for the projective spaces and their products via Strominger-Yau-Zaslow construction of the mirror dual Landau-Ginzburg model. In this paper we go this way further and extend our previous result to the case of the Hirzebruch surface $\mathbb{F}_1$.
We propose a way of understanding homological mirror symmetry when a complex manifold is a smooth compact toric manifold. So far, in many example, the derived category $D^b(coh(X))$ of coherent sheaves on a toric manifold $X$ is compared with the Fukaya-Seidel category of the Milnor fiber of the corresponding Landau-Ginzburg potential. We instead consider the dual torus fibration $π:M \to B$ of the complement of the toric divisors in $X$, where $\bar{B}$ is the dual polytope of the toric manifold $X$. A natural formulation of homological mirror symmetry in this set-up is to define $Fuk(\bar{M}…
For an appropriate choice of a $\mathbb{Z}$-grading structure, we prove that the wrapped Fukaya category of the symmetric square of a $(k+3)$-punctured sphere, i.e. the Weinstein manifold given as the complement of $(k+3)$ generic lines in $\mathbb{C}P^2$ is quasi-equivalent to the derived category of coherent sheaves on a singular surface $\mathcal{Z}_{2,k}$ constructed as the boundary of a toric Landau-Ginzburg model $(\mathcal{X}_{2,k}, \mathbf{w}_{2,k})$. We do this by first constructing a quasi-equivalence between certain categorical resolutions of both sides and then localising. We also …
We describe supersymmetric A-branes and B-branes in open N=(2,2) dynamically gauged nonlinear sigma models (GNLSM), placing emphasis on toric manifold target spaces. For a subset of toric manifolds, these equivariant branes have a mirror description as branes in gauged Landau-Ginzburg models with neutral matter. We then study correlation functions in the topological A-twisted version of the GNLSM, and identify their values with open Hamiltonian Gromov-Witten invariants. Supersymmetry breaking can occur in the A-twisted GNLSM due to nonperturbative open symplectic vortices, and we canonically B…
Perverse schobers are categorical analogs of perverse sheaves. Examples arise from varieties admitting flops, determined by diagrams of derived categories of coherent sheaves associated to the flop: in this paper we construct mirror partners to such schobers, determined by diagrams of Fukaya categories with stops, for examples in dimensions 2 and 3. Interpreting these schobers as supported on loci in mirror moduli spaces, we prove homological mirror symmetry equivalences between them. Our construction uses the coherent-constructible correspondence and a recent result of Ganatra-Pardon-Shende t…
We prove a version of homological mirror symmetry statement for toric Calabi-Yau $3$-orbifolds, thus extending arXiv:1604.06448 to the case of orbifolds under the mirror symmetry setting considered in arXiv:1604.07123. The B-model is the matrix factorization category for the toric Calabi-Yau $3$-orbifold with a superpotential; while the A-model is a topologically defined Fukaya-type category on its mirror curve.
In this paper, we describe explicit relations in the symplectomorphism groups of toric hypersurfaces. To define the elements involved, we construct a proper stack of toric hypersurfaces with compactifying boundary representing toric hypersurface degenerations. Our relations arise through the study of the one dimensional strata of this stack. The results are then examined from the perspective of homological mirror symmetry where we view sequences of relations as maximal degenerations of Landau-Ginzburg models. We then study the B-model mirror to these degenerations, which gives a new mirror sym…
Let $X$ be a toric Del-Pezzo surface and let $Crit(W) \subset (\mathbb{C}^{\ast})^n$ be the solution scheme of the Landau-Ginzburg system of equations. Denote by $X^{\circ}$ the polar variety of $X$. Our aim in this work is to describe a map $L : Crit(W) \rightarrow Fuk_{trop}(X^{\circ})$ whose image under homological mirror symmetry corresponds to a full strongly exceptional collection of line bundles.
