We study the factorization of soft and collinear singularities in dimensionally-regularized fixed-angle scattering amplitudes in massless gauge theories. Our factorization is based on replacing the hard massless partons by light-like Wilson lines, and defining gauge-invariant jet and soft functions in dimensional regularization. In this scheme the factorized amplitude admits a powerful symmetry: it is invariant under rescaling of individual Wilson-line velocities. This symmetry is broken by cusp singularities in both the soft and the eikonal jet functions. We show that the cancellation of these cusp anomalies in any multi-leg amplitude imposes all-order constraints on the kinematic dependence of the corresponding soft anomalous dimension, relating it to the cusp anomalous dimension. For amplitudes with two or three hard partons the solution is unique: the constraints fully determine the kinematic dependence of the soft function. For amplitudes with four or more hard partons we present a minimal solution where the soft anomalous dimension is a sum over colour dipoles, multiplied by the cusp anomalous dimension. In this case additional contributions to the soft anomalous dimension at three loops or beyond are not excluded, but they are constrained to be functions of conformal cross ratios of kinematic variables.
The asymptotic behaviour at large N of the MS-bar quark anomalous dimensions is derived to all orders assuming only MS-bar factorization and standard results for the exponentiation of soft logarithms in the quark initiated bare cross sections for deep inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan. The result is then used to write the MS-bar quark coefficient functions in a form in which all terms of $O(\ln^m N)$ are resummed.
We investigate the consistency requirements of the next-to leading BFKL equation with the renormalization group, with particular emphasis on running coupling effects and NL anomalous dimensions. We show that, despite some model dependence of the bare hard Pomeron, such consistency holds at leading twist level, provided the effective variable $α_s(t) log(1/x)$ is not too large. We give a unified view of resummation formulas for coefficient functions and anomalous dimensions in the Q_0-scheme and we discuss in detail the new one for the $q\bar{q}$ contributions to the gluon channel.
The 1/N_c expansion for the baryon distribution amplitude is constructed in terms of a specially designed generating functional. At large N_c this functional shows exponential behavior. The exponential factor is universal for all low-lying baryons and baryon-meson scattering states. Simple factorization properties are established for the preexponential term. This factorization agrees with the large-N_c contracted SU(2N_f) spin-flavor symmetry. The consistency of the factorization with the soft-pion theorem for the baryon distribution amplitude is explicitly checked. A relation between the gene…
Starting from the first renormalized factorization theorem for a process described at subleading power in soft-collinear effective theory, we discuss the resummation of Sudakov logarithms for such processes in renormalization-group improved perturbation theory. Endpoint divergences in convolution integrals, which arise generically beyond leading power, are regularized and removed by systematically rearranging the factorization formula. We study in detail the example of the $b$-quark induced $h\toγγ$ decay of the Higgs boson, for which we resum large logarithms of the ratio $M_h/m_b$ at next-to…
I present results for soft anomalous dimensions through three loops for many QCD processes. In particular, I give detailed expressions for soft anomalous dimensions in various processes with electroweak and Higgs bosons as well as single top quarks and top-antitop pairs.
The factorization of soft and ultrasoft gluons from collinear particles is shown at the level of operators in an effective field theory. Exclusive hadronic factorization and inclusive partonic factorization follow as special cases. The leading order Lagrangian is derived using power counting and gauge invariance in the effective theory. Several species of gluons are required, and softer gluons appear as background fields to gluons with harder momenta. Two examples are given: the factorization of soft gluons in B->D pi, and the soft-collinear convolution for the B->Xs gamma spectrum.
A leading-twist factorization formula is derived for the longitudinal structure function in the x -->1 limit of deeply inelastic scattering. This is achieved by defining a new jet function which is gauge independent and probes the transverse momentum of the struck parton in the target. In moment space, terms of order (\ln^k N)/N, which are the leading ones for F_L, are shown to be resummable through the cusp anomalous dimension γ_K and the anomalous dimension γ_{J^\prime} of the new jet function. This anomalous dimension is computed to O(α_s). The suggested factorization for F_L reproduces the…
Factorization is possible due to the universal behavior of Yang-Mills theories in soft and collinear limits. Here, we take a small step towards a more transparent understanding of these limits by proving a form of perturbative factorization at tree- level using on-shell spinor helicity methods. We present a concrete and self-contained expression of factorization in which matrix elements in QCD are related to products of other matrix elements in QCD up to leading order in a power-counting parameter determined by the momenta of certain physical on-shell states. Our approach uses only the scaling…
Proof of factorization of soft and collinear divergences in non-equilibrium QCD may be necessary to study hadronic signatures of quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC. In this paper we prove factorization of soft and collinear divergences in non-equilibrium QED by using Schwinger-Keldysh closed-time path integral formalism in the background field method in pure gauge.
We perform a careful study of the infrared sector of massless non-abelian gauge theories in four-dimensional Minkowski spacetime using the covariant phase space formalism, taking into account the boundary contributions arising from the gauge sector of the theory. Upon quantization, we show that the boundary contributions lead to an infinite degeneracy of the vacua. The Hilbert space of the vacuum sector is not only shown to be remarkably simple, but also universal. We derive a Ward identity that relates the n-point amplitude between two generic in- and out-vacuum states to the one computed in …
The width of $B_c^+\to ψπ^+$ decay is calculated in the framework of factorization of a hard gluon exchange and a soft binding of quarks in the heavy quarkonium, so that ${\rm BR}(B_c^+\to ψπ^+) = 2.0\pm 0.5$ \%.
I discuss and review soft anomalous dimensions in QCD that describe soft-gluon threshold resummation for a wide range of hard-scattering processes. The factorization properties of the cross section in moment space and renormalization-group evolution are implemented to derive a general form for differential resummed cross sections. Detailed expressions are given for the soft anomalous dimensions at one, two, and three loops, including some new results, for a large number of partonic processes involving top quarks, electroweak bosons, Higgs bosons, and other particles in the Standard Model and b…
We establish a correspondence between ultraviolet singularities of soft factors for multiparticle production and rapidity singularities of soft factors for multiparton scattering. This correspondence is a consequence of the conformal mapping between scattering geometries. The correspondence is valid to all orders of perturbation theory and in this way provides one with a proof of rapidity renormalization procedure for multiparton scattering (including the transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization as a special case). As a by-product, we obtain an exact relation between the rapidity anom…
A previous counterexample to disprove k_T-factorization for H_1+H_2 --> H_3+H_4+X is extended calculationally to one higher order in gluon exchange. The result is that, by explicit calculation, standard k_T-factorization fails for the unpolarized cross-section for the production of hadrons of high transverse momentum in hadron-hadron collisions.
We apply recently developed path integral resummation methods to perturbative quantum gravity. In particular, we provide supporting evidence that eikonal graviton amplitudes factorize into hard and soft parts, and confirm a recent hypothesis that soft gravitons are modelled by vacuum expectation values of products of certain Wilson line operators, which differ for massless and massive particles. We also investigate terms which break this factorization, and find that they are subleading with respect to the eikonal amplitude. The results may help in understanding the connections between gravity …
The soft-collinear effective theory has been recently applied to prove novel factorization theorems for many B decays. We describe here in some detail the factorization relation for color-supressed nonleptonic B -> D(*)0 pi0 decays and update the phenomenological analysis of these decays.
Contrary to what has been often claimed in the literature, we clarify that the hard photon-gluon cross section $\gg_{\rm hard}(x)$ in polarized deep inelastic scattering calculated in the gauge-invariant factorization scheme does {\it not} involve any soft contributions and hence it is genuinely {\it hard}. We show that the polarized proton structure function $g_1^p(x)$ up to the next-to-leading order of $α_s$ is independent of the factorization convention, e.g., the gauge-invariant or chiral-invariant scheme, chosen in defining $\gg_{\rm hard}(x)$ and the quark spin density. Thereby, it is no…
We calculate the probability that the rapidity gaps in diffractive processes survive both eikonal and enhanced rescattering. We present arguments that enhanced rescattering, which violates soft-hard factorization, is not very strong. Accounting for NLO effects, there is no reason to expect that the black disc regime is reached at the LHC. We discuss the predictions for the survival of the rapidity gaps for exclusive Higgs production at the LHC.
We demonstrate that the recently proposed soft gluon factorization (SGF) is equivalent to the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization for heavy quarkonium production or decay, which means that for any given process these two factorization theories are either both valid or both violated. We use two methods to achieve this conclusion. In the first method, we apply the two factorization theories to the physical process $J/ψ\to e^+e^-$. Our explicit calculation shows that both SGF and NRQCD can correctly reproduce low energy physics of full QCD, and thus the two factorizations are equivalent. In…
The soft anomalous dimension governs the infrared divergences of scattering amplitudes in general kinematics to all orders in perturbation theory. By comparing the recent Regge-limit results for $2\to2$ scattering (through Next-to-Next-to-Leading Logarithms) in full colour to a general form for the soft anomalous dimension at four loops we derive powerful constraints on its kinematic dependence, opening the way for a bootstrap-based determination.
A consistent factorization theorem is presented in the framework of effective field theories. Conventional factorization suffers from infrared divergences in the soft and collinear parts. We present a factorization theorem in which the infrared divergences appear only in the parton distribution functions by carefully reorganizing collinear and soft parts. The central idea is extracting the soft contributions from the collinear part to avoid double counting. Combining it with the original soft part, an infrared-finite kernel is obtained. This factorization procedure can be applied to various hi…
In this paper, we study the application of the recently proposed soft gluon factorization (SGF) to exclusive quarkonium production or decay. We find that in the nonrelativistic QCD factorization framework there are too many nonperturbative parameters. Thanks to the factorization of kinematical physics from dynamical physics, the SGF significantly reduces the number of nonperturbative parameters. Therefore, the SGF can improve our predictive power of exclusive quarkonium production or decay. By applying to $η_c+γ$ production at B-factories, our result is the closest one to data among all theore…
We provide a precise statement of hard-soft-collinear factorization of scattering amplitudes and prove it to all orders in perturbation theory. Factorization is formulated as the equality at leading power of scattering amplitudes in QCD with other amplitudes in QCD computed from a product of operator matrix elements. The equivalence is regulator independent and gauge independent. As the formulation relates amplitudes to the same amplitudes with additional soft or collinear particles, it includes as special cases the factorization of soft currents and collinear splitting functions from generic …
We calculate soft phase-space and loop master integrals tor the computation of color-singlet cross sections through N$^3$LO in perturbative QCD. Our results are functions of homogeneous transcendental weight and include the first nine terms in the expansion in the dimensional regulator $ε$. We discuss the application of our results to the computation of deeply-inelastic scattering and $e^+e^-$ annihilation processes. We use these results to compute the perturbative coefficient functions for the Drell-Yan and gluon-fusion Higgs boson production cross sections to higher orders in $ε$ through N$^…
We have analyzed the $D\rightarrow πK, KK$ decay with the naive factorization (NF), QCD factorization (QCDF)and QCD factorization including soft-gluon exchanges (QCDF+SGE). In these decay channels, the soft-gluon effects are firstly calculated with light cone QCD sum rules. Comparing the three kind approaches, we can find the calculation results have made much more improved QCD factorization (QCDF) than the naive factorization (NF), and the calculation results have also made improved QCD factorization including soft-gluon exchanges (QCDF+SGE) than the QCD factorization (QCDF) in the color-supp…
The resummation of soft gluon exchange for QCD hard scattering requires a matrix of anomalous dimensions, which has been computed through two loops. The two-loop matrix is proportional to the one-loop matrix. Recently there have been proposals that this proportionality extends to higher loops. One can test such proposals by computing the dependence of this matrix on the matter content in a generic gauge theory. It is shown that for the matter-dependent part the proportionality extends to three loops for arbitrary massless processes.
The combination of collinear factorization with effective field theory originally developed for soft interactions of heavy quarks provides the foundations of the theory of exclusive and semi-inclusive B decays. In this article I summarize some of the later conceptual developments of the so-called QCD factorization approach that make use of soft-collinear effective theory. Then I discuss the status and results of the calculation of the hard-scattering functions at the next order, and review very briefly some of the phenomenology, covering aspects of charmless, electroweak penguin and radiative …
In this work we use the holographic softwall AdS/QCD model with anomalous dimension contributions coming from two different QCD beta functions to calculate the masses of higher spin glueball states for both even and odd spins and its respective Regge trajectories, related to the pomeron and the odderon, respectively. We further investigate this model taking into account dynamical corrections due to a dilaton potential consistent with Einstein equations in 5 dimensions. The results found in this work for the Regge trajectories within the anomalous softwall model with dynamical corrections are c…
We present a new analysis of two-jet event shape distributions in soft collinear effective theory. Extending previous results, we observe that a large class of such distributions can be expressed in terms of vacuum matrix elements of operators in the effective theory. We match these matrix elements to the full theory in the two-jet limit without assuming factorization of the complete set of hadronic final states into independent sums over partonic collinear and soft states. We also briefly discuss the relationship of this approach to diagrammatic factorization in the full theory.
We consider the extension of the CMW soft-gluon effective coupling in the context of soft-gluon resummation for QCD hard-scattering observables beyond the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. We present two proposals of a soft-gluon effective coupling that extend the CMW coupling to all perturbative orders in the \ms\ coupling $\as$. Although both effective couplings are well-defined in the physical four-dimensional space time, we examine their behaviour in $d=4 -2\ep$ space time dimensions. We uncover an all-order perturbative relation with the cusp anomalous dimension: the (four dimensional…
We present a factorization formula for the production of pairs of heavy coloured particles in hadronic collisions at the production threshold, which forms the basis for the resummation of soft gluons and Coulomb gluons. We construct a basis in colour space that diagonalizes the soft function appearing in the factorization formula to all orders in perturbation theory. This extends recent results on the structure of soft anomalous dimensions and allows us to determine an analytic expression for the two-loop soft anomalous dimension at threshold for all production processes of interest.
We outline arguments for the cancellation of soft singularities in transition probabilities and parton distributions with incoming partons and Wilson lines, and with observed jets or heavy colored particles in the final states. We show the cancellation of Glauber gluons and divergent phases, relating finite remainders to corrections that arise from restrictions on final states in factorized cross sections.
Glauber gluons in Drell-Yan processes are soft gluons with the transverse momenta much larger than their momentum components along the directions of initial hadrons. Their existence has been a serious challenge in proving the factorization of Drell-Yan processes. The recently proposed soft collinear effect theory of QCD can provide a transparent way to show factorizations for a class of processes, but it does not address the effect of glauber gluons. In this letter we first confirm the existence of glauber gluons through an example. We then add glauber gluons into the effective theory and stud…
Universality in QCD factorization of parton densities, fragmentation functions, and soft factors is endangered by the process dependence of the directions of Wilson lines in their definitions. We find a choice of directions that is consistent with factorization and that gives universality between e^+e^- annihilation, semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, and the Drell-Yan process. Universality is only modified by a time-reversal transformation of the soft function and parton densities between Drell-Yan and the other processes, whose only effect is the known reversal of sign for T-odd parto…
We derive a factorization theorem for the Higgs boson transverse momentum (p_T) and rapidity (Y) distributions at hadron colliders, using the Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET), for m_h>> p_T>> Λ_{QCD} where m_h denotes the Higgs mass. In addition to the factorization of the various scales involved, the perturbative physics at the p_T scale is further factorized into two collinear impact-parameter Beam Functions (iBFs) and an inverse Soft Function (iSF). These newly defined functions are of a universal nature for the study of differential distributions at hadron colliders. The additional f…
Heavy-to-light transition form factors at large recoil energy of the light meson have been conjectured to obey a factorization formula, where the set of form factors is reduced to a smaller number of universal form factors up to hard-scattering corrections. In this paper we extend our previous investigation of heavy-to-light currents in soft-collinear effective theory to final states with invariant mass Lambda^2 as is appropriate to exclusive B meson decays. The effective theory contains soft modes and two collinear modes with virtualities of order m_b*Lambda (`hard-collinear') and Lambda^2. I…
We study the fragmentation function of the gluon to color-octet $^3S_1$ heavy quark-antiquark pair using the soft gluon factorization (SGF) approach, which expresses the fragmentation function in a form of perturbative short-distance hard part convoluted with one-dimensional color-octet $^3S_1$ soft gluon distribution (SGD). The short distance hard part is calculated to next-to-leading order in $α_s$ and a renormalization group equation for the SGD is derived. By solving the renormalization group equation, threshold logarithms are resummed to all orders in perturbation theory. The comparison w…
We study transverse-momentum-dependent factorization at twist-3 for Drell-Yan processes. The factorization can be derived straightforwardly at leading order of $α_s$. But at this order we find that light-cone singularities already exist and effects of soft gluons are not correctly factorized. We regularize the singularities with gauge links off the light-cone and introduce a soft factor to factorize the effects of soft gluons. Interestingly, the soft factor must be included in the definition of subtracted TMD parton distributions to correctly factorize the effects of soft gluons. We derive the…
In this work, we study the radiative leptonic decays of $B^-$ and $D^-$ mesons using factorization approach. Factorization is proved to be valid explicitly at 1-loop level at any order of $O(Λ_{\rm QCD}\left/m_Q\right.)$. We consider the contribution in the soft photon region that $E_γ \sim \left. Λ^2_{\rm QCD} /\right. m_Q$. The numerical results shows that, the soft photon region is very important for both the $B$ and $D$ mesons. The branching ratios of $B\to γeν_e$ is $5.21\times 10^{-6}$, which is about $3$ times of the result obtained by only considering the hard photon region $E_γ\sim m_…
Many collider observables suffer from non-global logarithms not captured by standard resummation techniques. Classic examples are the light-jet mass event shape in the limit of small mass and the related hemisphere soft function. We derive factorization formulas for both of these and explicitly demonstrate that they capture all logarithms present at NNLO. These formulas achieve full scale separation and provide the basis for all-order resummations. A characteristic feature of non-global observables is that the soft radiation is driven by multi-Wilson-line operators, and the ones arising here m…
We use multi-parton states to examine the leading order collinear factorization of single transverse-spin asymmetries in Drell-Yan processes. Twist-3 operators are involved in the factorization. We find that the so-called soft-gluon-pole contribution in the factorization must exist in order to make the factorization correct. This contribution comes from the corresponding cross-section at one-loop, while the hard-pole contribution in the factorization comes from the cross-section at tree-level. Although the two contributions come from results at different orders, their perturbative coefficient …
Consistent factorization theorems in high-energy scattering near the threshold are presented in the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory. Traditional factorization theorem separates the soft and collinear parts successfully, but a final step should be supplemented if each part encounters infrared divergence. We present factorization theorems in which the infrared divergences appear only in the parton distribution functions and the infrared divergence is removed by carefully separating and reorganizing collinear and soft parts. The underlying physical idea is to isolate and remove t…
We develop and discuss an infrared-finite factorization and optimized renormalization scheme for calculating exclusive processes which enables the inclusion of transverse degrees of freedom without entailing suppression of calculated observables, like form factors. This is achieved by employing an analytic, i.e., infrared stable, effective coupling $α_{s}(Q^{2})$ which removes the Landau singularity at $Q^{2}=Λ_{\rm QCD}^{2}$ by a power-behaved correction. The ensuing contributions to the cusp anomalous dimension, related to the Sudakov form factor, and to the quark anomalous dimension, which …
Using the formalism of soft-collinear effective theory, a complete separation of short- and long-distance contributions to heavy-to-light transition form factors at large recoil is performed. The universal functions $ζ_M(E)$ parameterizing the ``soft overlap'' contribution to the form factors are defined in terms of matrix elements in the effective theory. Endpoint configurations corresponding to kinematic situations where one of the valence partons in the external mesons carries very small momentum are accounted for in terms of operators involving soft-collinear messenger fields. They contrib…
We study transverse momentum dependent factorization and resummation at sub-leading power in Drell-Yan and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. In these processes the sub-leading power contributions to the cross section enter as a kinematic power correction to the leptonic tensor, and the kinematic, intrinsic, and dynamic sub-leading contributions to the hadronic tensor. By consistently treating the power counting of the interactions, we demonstrate renormalization group consistency. We calculate the anomalous dimensions of the kinematic and intrinsic sub-leading correlation functions at …
Explicit applications of factorization theorems for processes at hadron colliders near the hadronic endpoint have largely focused on simple final states with either no jets (e.g., Drell-Yan) or one inclusive jet (e.g., deep inelastic scattering and prompt photon production). Factorization for the former type of process gives rise to a soft function that depends on timelike momenta, whereas the soft function for the latter type depends on null momenta. We derive in soft-collinear effective theory a factorization theorem that allows for an arbitrary number of jets, where the jets are defined wit…
We derive an operator based factorization theorem for the energy-energy correlation (EEC) observable in the back-to-back region, allowing the cross section to be written as a convolution of hard, jet and soft functions. We prove the equivalence of the soft functions for the EEC and color singlet transverse-momentum resummation to all-loop order, and give their analytic result to three-loops. Large logarithms appearing in the perturbative expansion of the EEC can be resummed to all orders using renormalization group evolution. We give analytic results for all required anomalous dimensions to th…
In this thesis we present an introduction to Soft-Collinear Effective Theory, which can be used to prove (or disprove) factorization theorems to all orders in the strong coupling constant for some B decays into light and energetic particles. Specifically, the factorizable amplitudes for inclusive B->X_u l nu and exclusive B->gamma l nu are calculated in renormalization-group improved perturbation theory to first non-trivial order. Form factors encoding the exclusive decay amplitudes for B->P l nu and B->V l nu (P=light pseudoscalar meson, V=light vector meson) are studied and proved to be domi…
We discuss the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) and kinematic expansions in B-decays, focusing on recent results for color suppressed B -> D^(*) X decays. In particular we discuss model independent predictions for B^0 -> D^0 pi^0 and B^0 -> D^*0 pi^0, and update the comparison using new experimental data. We show why HQET alone is insufficient to give these results. SCET predictions are also reviewed for other B and Lambda_b decay channels that are not yet tested by data.
We reanalyze the factorization theorems for Drell-Yan process and for deep inelastic scattering near threshold, as constructed in the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), from a new, consistent perspective. In order to formulate the factorization near threshold in SCET, we should include an additional degree of freedom with small energy, collinear to the beam direction. The corresponding collinear-soft mode is included to describe the parton distribution function (PDF) near threshold. The soft function is modified by subtracting the contribution of the collinear-soft modes …
An alternative proof of factorization theorem for Drell-Yan process that works at operator level is given in the article. Final state interactions for such inclusive processes are proved to be cancel out at operator level according to the unitarity of time evolution operator. After this cancellation, one can always deform the integral path so that eikonal line approximation works while calculating the time evolution of electromagnetic currants. Decoupling of soft gluons from collinear jets is realized by defining new collinear fields that decouple from soft gluons. Cancelation of soft gluons i…
We outline a proof of factorization in exclusive processes, taking into account the presence of soft and collinear modes of arbitrarily low energy, which arise when the external lines of the process are taken on shell. Specifically, we examine the process of e^+e^- annihilation through a virtual photon into two light mesons. In an intermediate step, we establish a factorized form that contains a soft function that is free of collinear divergences. In contrast, in soft-collinear effective theory, the low-energy collinear modes factor most straightforwardly into the soft function. We point out t…
We study the production of isolated photons in $e^+e^-$ annihilation and give the proof of the all-order factorization of the collinear singularities. These singularities are absorbed in the standard fragmentation functions of partons into a photon, while the effects of the isolation are consistently included in the short-distance cross section. We compute this cross section at order $\as$ and show that it contains large double logarithms of the isolation parameters. We explain the physical origin of these logarithms and discuss the possibility to resum them to all orders in $\as$.
We study the Sudakov form factor for a spontaneously broken gauge theory using a (new) Delta -regulator. To be well-defined, the effective theory requires zero-bin subtractions for the collinear sectors. The zero-bin subtractions depend on the gauge boson mass M and are not scaleless. They have both finite and 1/epsilon contributions, and are needed to give the correct anomalous dimension and low-scale matching contributions. We also demonstrate the necessity of zero-bin subtractions for soft-collinear factorization. We find that after zero-bin subtractions the form factor is the sum of the co…
Anomalous soft photons in excess of what is expected from electromagnetic bremsstrahlung have been observed in association with the production of hadrons, mostly mesons, in high-energy (K+)p, (pi+)p, (pi-)p, pp, and (e+)(e-) collisions. We propose a model for the simultaneous production of anomalous soft photons and mesons in quantum field theory, in which the meson production arises from the oscillation of color charge densities of the quarks of the underlying vacuum in the flux tube. As a quark carries both a color charge and an electric charge, the oscillation of the color charge densities …
I present results for two-loop soft anomalous dimensions, which are derived from dimensionally regularized diagrams with eikonal quark lines and control soft-gluon emission in hard-scattering processes. Detailed results for the UV poles of the eikonal integrals are shown for massive quarks, and the massless limit is also taken. The construction of soft anomalous dimensions at two-loops allows soft-gluon resummations at NNLL accuracy.
We present a calculation of soft-gluon corrections in FCNC top-quark production via anomalous $t$-$q$-$g$ couplings. The soft anomalous dimension matrix is explicitly calculated at one-loop accuracy. This calculation allows threshold resummation at next-to-leading-logarithm accuracy. We also derive expressions for the soft-gluon corrections at NLO and at NNLO.
