We consider a family of stochastic processes $\{X_t^ε, t \in T\}$ on a metric space $T$, with a parameter $ε\downarrow 0$. We study the conditions under which \lim_{\e \to 0} ¶\Big(\sup_{t \in T} |X_t^\e| < δ\Big) =1 when one has the \textit{a priori} estimate on the modulus of continuity and the value at one point. We compare our problem to the celebrated Kolmogorov continuity criteria for stochastic processes, and finally give an application of our main result for stochastic intergrals with respect to compound Poisson random measures with infinite intensity measures.
We prove a priori estimates in $L_\infty$ for a class of quasilinear stochastic partial differential equations. The estimates are obtained independently of the ellipticity constant $\varepsilon$ and thus imply analogous estimates for degenerate quasilinear stochastic partial differential equations, such as the stochastic porous medium equation.
We study the regularity of the probability density function of the supremum of the solution to the linear stochastic heat equation. Using a general criterion for the smoothness of densities for locally nondegenerate random variables, we establish the smoothness of the joint density of the random vector whose components are the solution and the supremum of an increment in time of the solution over an interval (at a fixed spatial position), and the smoothness of the density of the supremum of the solution over a space-time rectangle that touches the $t = 0$ axis. Applying the properties of the d…
We study the asymptotic behavior of multiscale stochastic spatial gene networks. Multiscaling takes into account the difference of abundance between molecules , and captures the dynamic of rare species at a mesoscopic level. We introduce an assumption of spatial correlations for reactions involving rare species and a new law of large numbers is obtained. According to the scales, the whole system splits into two parts with different but coupled dynamics. The high scale component converges to the usual spatial model which is the solution of a partial differential equation, whereas, the low scale…
Our subject of study is strong approximation of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with respect to the supremum error criterion, and we seek approximations that are strongly asymptotically optimal in specific classes of approximations. We hereby focus on two principal types of classes, namely, the classes of approximations that are based only on the evaluation of the initial value and on at most finitely many sequential evaluations of the driving Brownian motion on average and the classes of approximations that are based only on the evaluation of the initial value and on finitely many ev…
There are numerous applications of the classical (deterministic) Gronwall inequality. Recently, Michael Scheutzow discovered a stochastic Gronwall inequality which provides upper bounds for $p$-th moments, $p\in(0,1)$, of the supremum of nonnegative scalar continuous processes which satisfy a linear integral inequality. In this article we complement this with upper bounds for $p$-th moments, $p\in[2,\infty)$, of the supremum of general Itô processes which satisfy a suitable one-sided affine-linear growth condition. As example applications, we improve known results on strong local Lipschitz con…
The first step to study lower bounds for a stochastic process is to prove a special property - Sudakov minoration. The property means that if a certain number of points from the index set are well separated then we can provide an optimal type lower bound for the mean value of the supremum of the process. Together with the generic chaining argument the property can be used to fully characterize the mean value of the supremum of the stochastic process. In this article we prove the property for canonical processes based on radial-type log concave measures.
Motivated by the harmonic mean formula in [1], we investigate the relation between the sojourn time and supremum of a random process $X(t),t\in \mathbb{R}^d$ and extend the harmonic mean formula for general stochastically continuous $X$. We discuss two applications concerning the continuity of distribution of supremum of $X$ and representations of classical Pickands constants.
We consider a generalization of the parabolic Anderson model driven by space-time white noise, also called the stochastic heat equation, on the real line. High peaks of solutions have been extensively studied under the name of intermittency, but less is known about spatial regions between peaks, which may loosely refer to as valleys. We present two results about the valleys of the solution. Our first theorem provides information about the size of valleys and the supremum of the solution over a valley. More precisely, we show that the supremum of the solution over a valley vanishes as $t\to\inf…
Let $X(t),t\in \mathbb{R}$ be a stochastically continuous stationary max-stable process with Fréchet marginals $Φ_α, α>0$ and set $M_X(T)=\sup_{t \in [0,T]} X(t),T>0$. In the light of the seminal articles [1,2], it follows that $A_T=M_X(T)/T^{1/α}$ converges in distribution as $T\to \infty$ to $\mathcal{H}_Z^{1/α} X(1)$, where $\mathcal{H}_Z$ is the Pickands constant corresponding to the spectral process $Z$ of $X$. In this contribution we derive explicit formulas for $\mathcal{H}_Z$ in terms of $Z$ and show necessary and sufficient conditions for its positivity. From our analysis it follows t…

We consider a family of distributions on which natural tail orders can be constructed upon a representation of a distribution by a (single) hyper-real number. Past research revealed that the ordering can herein strongly depend on the particular model of the hyperreals, specifically the underlying ultrafilter. Hence, our distribution family is constructed to order invariantly of an ultrafilter. Moreover, we prove that it lies dense in the set of all distributions with the (same) compact support, w.r.t. the supremum norm. Overall, this work resents a correction to [10, 12], in response to recent…
We consider multiscale stochastic spatial gene networks involving chemical reactions and diffusions. The model is Markovian and the transitions are driven by Poisson random clocks. We consider a case where there are two different spatial scales: a microscopic one with fast dynamic and a macroscopic one with slow dynamic. At the microscopic level, the species are abundant and for the large population limit a partial differential equation (PDE) is obtained. On the contrary at the macroscopic level, the species are not abundant and their dynamic remains governed by jump processes. It results that…
A maximal inequality is an inequality which involves the (absolute) supremum $\sup_{s\leq t}|X_{s}|$ or the running maximum $\sup_{s\leq t}X_{s}$ of a stochastic process $(X_t)_{t\geq 0}$. We discuss maximal inequalities for several classes of stochastic processes with values in an Euclidean space: Martingales, Lévy processes, Lévy-type - including Feller processes, (compound) pseudo Poisson processes, stable-like processes and solutions to SDEs driven by a Lévy process -, strong Markov processes and Gaussian processes. Using the Burkholder-Davis-Gundy inequalities we als discuss some relation…
In this paper, we obtain explicit product and moment formulas for products of iterated integrals generated by families of square integrable martingales associated with an arbitrary Lévy process. We propose a new approach applying the theory of compensated-covariation stable families of martingales. Our main tool is a representation formula for products of elements of a compensated-covariation stable family, which enables to consider Lévy processes, with both jumps and Gaussian part.

Sato(2006)在$\Rset^d$上引入了两类广义随机积分和相应的两个无穷可分律卷积半群.定理3.1给出了这两个积分之间的关系(一个因式分解性质)。这里,使用\emph{the random integral mappings} $I^{h,r}_{(a,b]}$(参见综述文章Jurek(2011)),我们给出了一个更简单的证明,该证明对于巴拿赫空间上的测度也是有效的。此外,使用我们的技术,我们还建立了这两个家庭的不当随机积分之间的其他关系。
The universal approximation properties with respect to $L ^p $-type criteria of three important families of reservoir computers with stochastic discrete-time semi-infinite inputs is shown. First, it is proved that linear reservoir systems with either polynomial or neural network readout maps are universal. More importantly, it is proved that the same property holds for two families with linear readouts, namely, trigonometric state-affine systems and echo state networks, which are the most widely used reservoir systems in applications. The linearity in the readouts is a key feature in supervise…
Scalar dynamic risk measures for univariate positions in continuous time are commonly represented as backward stochastic differential equations. In the multivariate setting, dynamic risk measures have been defined and studied as families of set-valued functionals in the recent literature. There are two possible extensions of scalar backward stochastic differential equations for the set-valued framework: (1) backward stochastic differential inclusions, which evaluate the risk dynamics on the selectors of acceptable capital allocations; or (2) set-valued backward stochastic differential equation…
