We discuss 2d duality transformations in the classical AdS5 x S5 superstring and their effect on the integrable structure. T-duality along four directions in Poincare parametrization of AdS5 maps the bosonic part of the superstring action into itself. On bosonic level, this duality may be understood as a symmetry of the first-order (phase space) system of equations for the coset components of the current. The associated Lax connection is invariant modulo the action of an so(2,4)-automorphism. We then show that this symmetry extends to the full superstring, provided one supplements the transformation of the bosonic components of the current with a transformation on the fermionic ones. At the level of the action, this symmetry can be seen by combining the bosonic duality transformation with a similar one applied to part of the fermionic superstring coordinates. As a result, the full superstring action is mapped into itself, albeit in a different kappa-symmetry gauge. One implication is that the dual model has the same superconformal symmetry group as the original one, and this may be seen as a consequence of the integrability of the superstring. The invariance of the Lax connection under the duality implies a map on the full set of conserved charges that should interchange some of the Noether (local) charges with hidden (non-local) ones and vice versa.
Using the U(4) formalism developed ten years ago, the worldsheet action for the superstring in Ramond-Ramond plane wave backgrounds is expressed in a manifestly N=(2,2) superconformally invariant manner. This simplifies the construction of consistent Ramond-Ramond plane wave backgrounds and eliminates the problems associated with light-cone interaction point operators.
We study the hybrid formulation of Green-Schwarz superstrings on AdS_3 with NS flux and the boundary N=4 superconformal algebra. We show the equivalence between the NSR and GS superstrings by a field redefinition. The boundary N=4 superconformal algebra is realized by the free fields of the affine Lie superalgebra A(1|1)^{(1)}. We also consider the light-cone gauge and obtain the N=4 super-Liouville theory which describes the effective theory of the single long string near the singularities of the D1-D5 system.
The superstring in $D\!=\!3,4$ and 6 is invariant under an $N\!=\!D\!-\!2$ superconformal algebra based on $\widehat{S^{D-3}}$. There is a direct relationship between this (world-sheet) symmetry and the super-Poincaré (target space) symmetry. We establish this relationship using the light-cone gauge, show how the statement generalizes to $D\!=\!10$ and examine the properties of the $N\!=\!8$ superconformal algebra and the possible implications of its existence.
Hadron dynamics is formulated in terms of interacting composite strings. Consistent composite string model with extended Virasoro superconformal symmetry is found. These composite strings carry flavour and chiral degrees of freedom on edging two-dimensional surfaces. Necessary correct description of string amplitudes without states of negative norms in the spectrum of physical states is reached when special supercurrents conditions are fulfilled.
Invariance of the AdS_4 x CP^3 superstring under D=3 N=6 superconformal symmetry is discussed in the sector described by the OSp(4|6)/(SO(1,3) x U(3)) supercoset sigma-model action presented in the conformal basis for the osp(4|6)/(so(1,3) x u(3)) Cartan forms. Transformation rules under D=3 N=6 superconformal symmetry for the (10|24)-dimensional 'reduced' AdS_4 x CP^3 superspace coordinates are obtained and used to derive corresponding world-sheet currents.
Motivated by the isomorphism between osp(4|6) superalgebra and D=3 N=6 superconformal algebra we consider the superstring action on the AdS_4 x CP^3 background parametrized by D=3 N=6 super-Poincare and CP^3 coordinates supplemented by the coordinates corresponoding to dilatation and superconformal generators. It is also discussed the relation between the degeneracy of fermionic equations of motion and the action kappa-invariance in the framework of the supercoset approach.
We clarify some properties of projective superspace by using a manifestly superconformal notation. In particular, we analyze the N=2 scalar multiplet in detail, including its action, and the propagator and its super-Schwinger parameters. The internal symmetry is taken to be noncompact (after Wick rotation), allowing boundary conditions that preserve it off shell. Generalization to N=4 suggests the coset superspace PSU(2,2|4)/OSp(4|4) for the AdS/CFT superstring.
We extend our formulation of the covariant quantum superstring as a WZNW model with N=2 superconformal symmetry to N=4. The two anticommuting BRST charges in the N=4 multiplet of charges are the usual BRST charge Q_S and a charge Q_V proposed by Dijkgraaf, Verlinde and Verlinde for topological models. Using our recent work on "gauging cosets", we then construct a further charge Q_C which anticommutes with Q_S + Q_V and which is intended for the definition of the physical spectrum.
Superstrings propagating on backgrounds of the form AdS_3 x G/H are studied using the coset CFT approach. We focus on seven dimensional cosets which have a semiclassical limit, and which give rise to N=3 superconformal symmetry in the dual CFT. This is realized for the two cases AdS_3 x SU(3)/U(1) and AdS_3 x SO(5)/SO(3), for which we present an explicit construction. We also provide sufficient conditions on a CFT background to enable a similar construction, and comment on the geometrical interpretation of our results.
We consider effective actions for six-dimensional non-critical superstrings. We show that the addition of $N$ units of R-R flux and of $N_f$ space-time filling D5-branes produces $AdS_5 \times S^1$ solutions with curvature comparable to the string scale. These solutions have the right structure to be dual to ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric SU(N) gauge theories with $N_f$ flavors. We further suggest bounds on the mass-squared of tachyonic fields in this background that should restrict the theory to the conformal window.
Two-dimensional hybrid superstring on singular Calabi-Yau manifolds is studied by the field redefinition of the NSR formalism. The compactification on singular Calabi-Yau fourfold is described by N=2 super-Liouville theory and N=2 Landau-Ginzburg models. We examine the world-sheet topological N=4 superconformal algebra, which is useful to identify physical states of the theory. It is shown that the space-time superconformal symmetry is not compatible with this original topological algebra. A new model is proposed by modifying the topological superconformal generators, which is consistent with …
We construct a kappa-symmetric Green-Schwarz action for type IIA string theory on AdS_2. As a candidate holographic dual, we consider superconformal matrix quantum mechanics, given by the Marinari-Parisi model with vanishing or logarithmic superpotential. We derive that the super-eigenvalues form a consistent subsector, and that their dynamics reduces to that of the supersymmetric Calogero-Moser model. The classical string action and the matrix model both have an infinite set of conserved charges, that include an N=2 target space super-Virasoro symmetry. As a microscopic test of the duality, w…
We construct new four-dimensional superstring vacua with extended superconformal symmetries. A non-trivial dilaton background implies the existence of Abelian killing symmetries. These are used to construct dual equivalent backgrounds in a way preserving the N=2 superconformal invariance.
Bethe ansatz equations have been proposed for the asymptotic spectral problem of AdS_4/CFT_3. This proposal assumes integrability, but the previous verification of weak-coupling integrability covered only the su(4) sector of the ABJM gauge theory. Here we derive the complete planar two-loop dilatation generator of N=6 superconformal Chern-Simons theory from osp(6|4) superconformal symmetry. For the osp(4|2) sector, we prove integrability through a Yangian construction. We argue that integrability extends to the full planar two-loop dilatation generator, confirming the applicability of the Beth…
We derive the low energy effective action of the heterotic superstring in superspace. This is achieved by coupling the covariantly quantized Green-Schwarz superstring of Berkovits to a curved background and requiring that the sigma model has superconformal invariance at tree level and at one loop in $\a'$. Tree level superconformal invariance yields the complete supergravity algebra, and one-loop superconformal invariance the equations of motion of the low energy theory. The resulting low energy theory is old-minimal supergravity coupled to a tensor multiplet. The dilaton is part of the compen…
Conformal field theory of the D1/D5 system and superstrings on $AdS_3\times S^3\times T^4$ is studied with particular attention to the world-sheet fields corresponding to the $T^4$ part. A solution to the spacetime N=4 superconformal symmetry doubling and other problems is proposed. It is argued that the relevant spacetime symmetry should be based on the middle N=4 superconformal algebra. It is discussed as to why this superconformal structure has been missed so far.
We explore integrability properties of superstring equations of motion in AdS_5 x S^5. We impose light-cone kappa-symmetry and reparametrization gauges and construct a Lax representation for the corresponding Hamiltonian dynamics on subspace of physical superstring degrees of freedom. We present some explicit results for the corresponding conserved charges by consistently reducing the dynamics to AdS_3 x S^3 and AdS_3 x S^1 subsectors containing both bosonic and fermionic fields.
Aspects of the D=4, N=4 superconformal symmetry relevant to the AdS/CFT duality and integrability are reviewed. These include the Lie superalgebra psu(2,2|4), its representations, conformal transformations and correlation functions in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory as well as an illustration of the AdS5xS5 superspace on which the dual string theory is formulated.
Scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory reveal a remarkable symmetry structure. In addition to the superconformal symmetry of the Lagrangian of the theory, the planar amplitudes exhibit a dual superconformal symmetry. The presence of this additional symmetry imposes strong restrictions on the amplitudes and is connected to a duality relating scattering amplitudes to Wilson loops defined on polygonal light-like contours. The combination of the superconformal and dual superconformal symmetries gives rise to a Yangian, an algebraic structure which is known to be related to the…
We study the integrability properties of planar N=2 superconformal field theories in four dimensions. We show that the spin chain associated to the planar dilation operator of N=2 superconformal QCD fails to be integrable at two loops. In our analysis we focus on a closed SU(2|1) sector, whose two-loop spin chain we fix by symmetry arguments (up to a few undetermined coefficients). It turns out that the Yang-Baxter equation for magnon scattering is not satisfied in this sector. On the other hand, we suggest that the closed SU(2,1|2) sector, which exists in any N=2 superconformal gauge theory, …
For type II supergravity backgrounds with superisometries the corresponding transformations and conserved currents for the superstring are constructed up to fourth order in $Θ$. It is then shown how, for certain backgrounds related to near horizon geometries of intersecting branes, the components of the superisometry current can be used to construct a Lax connection demonstrating the classical integrability of the string in these backgrounds. This includes examples of $AdS_2$ and $AdS_3$ backgrounds with a $D(2,1;α)$ isometry group which have not previously been studied from an integrability p…
We make contact between the infinite-dimensional non-local symmetry of the typeIIB superstring on AdS5xS5 worldsheet theory and a non-abelian infinite-dimensional symmetry algebra for the weakly coupled superconformal gauge theory. We explain why the planar limit of the one-loop dilatation operator is the Hamiltonian of a spin chain, and show that it commutes with the g*2 N = 0 limit of the non-abelian charges.
We present a new development in our approach to the covariant quantization of superstrings in 10 dimensions which is based on a gauged WZNW model. To incorporate worldsheet diffeomorphisms we need the quartet of ghosts $(b_{zz},c^{z}, \b_{zz}, \g^{z})$ for topological gravity. The currents of this combined system form an N=2 superconformal algebra. The model has vanishing central charge and contains two anticommuting BRST charges, $Q_{S}=Q_{W} + \oint \g^{z} b_{zz} + \oint η_{z}$ and $Q_{V} = \oint c^{z} \Big(T^{W}_{zz} + {1\over 2} T^{top}_{zz}\Big) + \g^{z} (B^{W}_{zz} + {1\over 2} B^{top}_{…
We derive the AdS${}_5\times$S${}^5$ Green-Schwarz superstring from four-dimensional Beltrami-Chern-Simons theory reduced on a manifold with singular boundary conditions. In this construction, the Lax connection and spectral parameter of the integrable superstring have a simple geometric origin in four dimensions as gauge connection and reduction coordinate. Kappa symmetry arises as a certain class of singular gauge transformations, while the worldsheet metric comes from complex-structure-changing Beltrami differentials. Our approach offers the possibility of investigating integrable holograph…
We consider type II superstrings on AdS backgrounds with Ramond-Ramond flux in various dimensions. We realize the backgrounds as supercosets and analyze explicitly two classes of models: non-critical superstrings on AdS_{2d} and critical superstrings on AdS_p\times S^p\times CY. We work both in the Green--Schwarz and in the pure spinor formalisms. We construct a one-parameter family of flat currents (a Lax connection) leading to an infinite number of conserved non-local charges, which imply the classical integrability of both sigma-models. In the pure spinor formulation, we use the BRST symmet…
We construct analytic solutions of open superstring field theory for any exactly marginal deformation in any boundary superconformal field theory when properly renormalized operator products of the marginal operator are given. Our construction is an extension of the general framework for marginal deformations developed in arXiv:0707.4472 for open bosonic string field theory, and the solutions are based on integrated vertex operators which are closely related to finite deformations in boundary superconformal field theory.
We discuss a classical integrability in the type IIB string theory on the AdS_5 x S^5 background. By using the Roiban-Siegel formulation of the superstring on the AdS_5 x S^5, we carefully treat the Wess-Zumino term and the constraint conditions intrinsic to the supersymmetric case, and construct explicitly non-local charges for a hidden infinite-dimensional symmetry. The existence of the symmetry is shown by Bena-Polchinski-Roiban. Then the super Yangian algebra is calculated. We also show the Serre relation ensuring the structure of the Hopf algebra. In addition, the classical integrability …
We consider the monodromy matrix for the pure spinor IIB superstring on $AdS_5\times S^5$ at leading order at strong coupling, in particular its variation under an infinitesimal and continuous deformation of the contour. Such variation is equivalent to the insertion of a local operator. Demanding the BRST-closure for such an operator rules out its existence, implying that the monodromy matrix remains contour-independent at the first order in perturbation theory. Furthermore we explicitly compute the field strength corresponding to the flat connections up to leading order and directly check tha…
Using a hybrid formalism, superstrings on AdS(3) x S(1) are studied in a manifestly supersymmetric manner. The world-sheet fields in this description including superspace coordinates are obtained through a field redefinition from the corresponding ones in the RNS formalism. The physical states are defined with the BRST cohomology as an N=4 topological string theory. The physical spectra for some lower mass levels are investigated. We identify two series of the space-time chiral primaries which have already been obtained from the analysis in the RNS formalism. We find that they are described by…
An extended free fermionic construction of the internal N=1 world sheet supercurrent for four-dimensional superstring theory is given. We show how it can describe theories with massless fermions, and we discuss the corresponding N=2 superconformal algebra. As an intermediate step, we show that an internal N=2 global superconformal invariance occurs in any superstring theory with massless fermions at tree level. To demonstrate this fact, we give the N=2 supercurrents for a model with N=1 space-time supersymmetry and a model without space-time supersymmetry.
Motivated by superstring theories on $AdS_3$, we construct spacetime superconformal algebras (SCAs) living on the $AdS_3$ boundary in terms of the transversal physical degrees of freedom. The SCAs constructed are N=4 large, middle algebras, and N=3 algebra, corresponding to superstring theories on $AdS_3 \times S ^3 \times S^3 \times S ^1$, $AdS_3 \times S ^3 \times T ^4 $ and $AdS_3 \times (S^3\times S^3\times S^1)/Z_2$ backgrounds respectively.
We construct a zero-curvature Lax connection in a sub-sector of the superstring theory on AdS(4) x CP(3) which is not described by the OSp(6|4)/U(3) x SO(1,3) supercoset sigma-model. In this sub-sector worldsheet fermions associated to eight broken supersymmetries of the type IIA background are physical fields. As such, the prescription for the construction of the Lax connection based on the Z_4-automorphism of the isometry superalgebra OSp(6|4) does not do the job. So, to construct the Lax connection we have used an alternative method which nevertheless relies on the isometry of the target su…
We derive boundary state of superstring in the open string channel. It describes the superconformal field theory of open string emission and absorption by D-brane. We define the boundary state by conformal mappings from upper half plane with operators inserted at two points corresponding to the corners of semi-infinite strip. We obtain explicit oscillator forms analytically for the fermion and superconformal ghost sectors. For the fermion sector we compare this with numerical result obtained by using naive boundary condition.
In this paper we continue the investigation of aspects of integrability of the type IIA AdS(3) x S(3) x S(3) x S(1) and AdS(3) x S(3) x T(4) superstrings. By constructing a one parameter family of flat connections we prove that the Green-Schwarz string is classically integrable, at least to quadratic order in fermions, without fixing the kappa-symmetry. We then compare the quantum dispersion relation, fixed by integrability up to an unknown interpolating function h(lambda), to explicit one-loop calculations on the string worldsheet. For AdS(3) x S(3) x S(3) x S(1) the spectrum contains heavy, …
Any N=2 superconformal gauge theory (including N=4 SYM) contains a set of local operators made only out of fields in the N=2 vector multiplet that is closed under renormalization to all loops, namely the SU(2,1|2) sector. For planar N=4 SYM the spectrum of local operators can be obtained by mapping the problem to an integrable model (a spin chain in perturbation theory), in principle for any value of the coupling constant. We present a diagrammatic argument that for any planar N=2 superconformal gauge theory the SU(2,1|2) Hamiltonian acting on infinite spin chains is identical to all loops to …
We show that tree level superstring theories on certain supersymmetric backgrounds admit a symmetry which we call ``fermionic T-duality''. This is a non-local redefinition of the fermionic worldsheet fields similar to the redefinition we perform on bosonic variables when we do an ordinary T-duality. This duality maps a supersymmetric background to another supersymmetric background with different RR fields and a different dilaton. We show that a certain combination of bosonic and fermionic T-dualities maps the full superstring theory on $AdS_5 \times S^5$ back to itself in such a way that gluon…
In the framework of six-dimensional conformal field theories with ${\cal N}=(1,0)$ supersymmetry we develop the map between the holographic description, the field theoretical description and the associated Hanany-Witten set-ups. General expressions that calculate various observables are presented. The study of string solitons singles out a special background of Massive IIA on which we show (by explicitly finding a Lax pair) that the Neveu-Schwarz part of the string sigma model is classically integrable. We study the particular dual conformal field theory and compute some of its observables.
The free field realization of irreducible representations of $\os$ is constructed, by a unified and systematic scheme. The $q$-analog of this unified scheme is used to construct $q$-free field realization of irreducible representations of $\uos$. By using these realization, the two point function of $N=1$ superconformal (q-superconformal) model based on $\os$ ($\uos$) symmetry have been calculated.
In any string theory there is a hidden, twisted superconformal symmetry algebra, part of which is made up by the BRST current and the anti-ghost. We investigate how this algebra can be systematically constructed for strings with $N\!-\!2$ supersymmetries, via quantum Hamiltonian reduction of the Lie superalgebras $osp(N|2)$. The motivation is to understand how one could systematically construct generalized string theories from superalgebras. We also briefly discuss the BRST algebra of the topological string, which is a doubly twisted $N\!=\!4$ superconformal algebra.
Type II supergravity admits an AdS(3) x S(2) x S(2) x T(3) solution with fluxes depending on several free parameters. We determine the constraints on these parameters imposed by the requirement of (classical) integrability of the superstring sigma model. To do this we analyze the low-energy effective action for the spinning GKP string. The absence of particle production in the tree-level S-matrix of bosonic excitations is shown to imply the vanishing of two of the four parameters in the NSNS three-form flux. This reduces the supergravity background to either the one-parameter AdS(3) x S(2) x S…
We show that the Lax pair of the pure spinor superstring in AdS5xS5 admits a generalization where the generators of the superconformal algebra are replaced by the generators of some infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebra.
In this paper, we motivate how the Hodge dual related with S-duality gives the hidden symmetry in the moduli space of IIB string. Utilizing the static $% κ$-symmetric Killing gauge, if we take the Hodge dual of the vierbeins keeping the connection invariant, the duality of Maure-Cartan equations and the equations of motion becomes manifest. Thus by twistly transforming the vierbein, we can express the BPR currents as the Lax connections by a unique spectral parameter. Then we construct the generators of the infinitesimal dressing symmetry, the related symmetric algebra becomes the affine $% gl…
By defining the heterotic Green-Schwarz superstring action on an N=(2,0) super-worldsheet, rather than on an ordinary worldsheet, many problems with the interacting Green-Schwarz superstring formalism can be solved. In the light-cone approach, superconformally transforming the light-cone super-worldsheet onto an N=(2,0) super-Riemann surface allows the elimination of the non-trivial interaction-point operators that complicate the evaluation of scattering amplitudes. In the Polyakov approach, the ten-dimensional heterotic Green-Schwarz covariant action defined on an N=(2,0) super-worldsheet can…
We revisit unitary representation of centrally extended (2 | 2) excitation superalgebra. We find most generally that `pseudo-momentum', not lattice momentum, diagonalizes spin chain Hamiltonian and leads to generalized dynamic spin chain. All known results point to lattice momentum diagonalization for N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. Having different interacting structure, we ask if N=6 superconformal Chern-Simons theory provides an example of pseudo-momentum diagonalization. For SO(6) sector, we study maximal shuffling and next-to-maximal shuffling terms in the dilatation operator and compare the…
We study superstring theories on AdS(3) x N backgrounds yielding N=2,3,4 extended superconformal symmetries in the dual boundary CFT. In each case the necessary constraints on the internal worldsheet theory N are found.
This article reviews the application of integrability to the spectral problem of strings on AdS_5 x S^5 and its deformations. We begin with a pedagogical introduction to integrable field theories culminating in the description of their finite-volume spectra through the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz. Next, we apply these ideas to the AdS_5 x S^5 string and in later chapters discuss how to account for particular integrable deformations. Through the AdS/CFT correspondence this gives an exact description of anomalous scaling dimensions of single trace operators in planar N=4 supersymmetry Yang-Mills …
We propose a simple method for constructing representations of (super)conformal and nonlinear W-type algebras in terms of their subalgebras and corresponding Nambu-Goldstone fields. We apply it to N=2 and N=1 superconformal algebras and describe in this way various embeddings of strings and superstrings for which these algebras and their subalgebras define world-sheet symmetries. Besides reproducing the known examples, we present some new ones, in particular an embedding of the bosonic string with additional U(1) affine symmetry into N=2 superstring. We also apply our method to the nonlinear $…
The main focus of this lecture is on extended objects in adS*S bosonic backgrounds with unbroken supersymmetry. The backgrounds are argued to be exact, special consideration are given to the non-maximal supersymmetry case. The near horizon superspace construction is explained. The superconformal symmetry appears in the worldvolume actions as the superisometry of the near horizon superspace, like the superPoincare symmetry of GS superstring and BST supermembrane in the flat superspace. The issues in gauge fixing of local kappa-symmetry are reviewed. We describe the features of the gauge-fixed I…
Neveu-Schwarz-Ramond type heterotic and type-II superstrings in four dimensional curved space-time are constructed as exact $N=1$ superconformal theories. The tachyon is eliminated with a GSO projection. The theory is based on the N=1 superconformal gauged WZW model for the anti-de Sitter coset $SO(3,2)/SO(3,1)$ with integer central extension $k=5$. The model has dynamical duality properties in its space-time metric that are similar to the large-small ($R\rightarrow 1/R$) duality of tori. To first order in a $1/k$ expansion we give expressions for the metric, the dilaton, the Ricci tensor and …
The quantum SUSY N=1 hierarchy based on $sl(2|1)^{(2)}$ twisted affine superalgebra is considered. The construction of the corresponding Baxter's Q-operators and fusion relations is outlined. The relation with the superconformal field theory is discussed.
We obtain a bosonization prescription that allows to represent the energy-momentum tensor and supersymmetry generators of non-critical superstring theories with minimal matter as those of topological supergravity. Superstrings with $N=1$ and $N=2$ world-sheet supersymmetry are considered. The topological symmetry associated with the topological supergravity representation is studied. It is shown, in particular, that the compatibility of this topological structure with the supersymmetry enhances the superconformal symmetry of the models concerned.
The nonlinear realization of the superconformal symmetry in two dimensions is considered. The superconformal symmetry is realized by means of dimension $-1/2$\ Nambu-Goldstone fermion $ξ$\ and its dimension 3/2 conjugate $η$. A matter coupling of these Nambu- Goldstone fermions reproduce the realization found by Berkovits and Vafa to show the equivalence between the bosonic string and a $N=1$\ superstring. This indicates that this equivalence is a result of the super Higgs mechanism as a two dimensional field theory, in which the NG fermions become unphysical.
This is the second part of the work where quasi-modular forms emerge from small exotic smooth $\mathbb{R}^4$'s grouped in a fixed radial family. SU(2) Seiberg-Witten theory when formulated on exotic $\mathbb{R}^4$ from the radial family, in special foliated topological limit can be described as SU(2) Seiberg-Witten theory on flat standard $\mathbb{R}^4$ with the gravitational corrections derived from coupling to ${\cal N}=2$ supergravity. Formally, quasi-modular expressions which follow the Connes-Moscovici construction of the universal Godbillon-Vey class of the codimension-1 foliation, are r…
We analyze the anti-de Sitter (AdS) superparticle and superstring systems described in terms of supermatrix valued coordinates proposed by Roiban and Siegel. This approach gives simple symmetry transformations and equations of motion. We examine their kappa-transformations, infinite reducibility and kappa-gauge fixing conditions. A closed first class constraint set for the AdS superparticle is GL(4|4) covariant and keeping superconformal symmetry manifestly. For the AdS superstring $σ$-dependence breaks the GL(4|4) covariance, where supercovariant derivatives and currents satisfy the inhomogen…
We study one-loop, moduli-dependent corrections to gauge and gravitational couplings in supersymmetric vacua of the heterotic string. By exploiting their relation to the integrability condition for the associated CP-odd couplings, we derive general expressions for them, both for $(2,2)$ and $(2,0)$ models, in terms of tree level four-point functions in the internal $N=2$ superconformal theory. The $(2,2)$ case, in particular symmetric orbifolds, is discussed in detail.
