We consider the frame-like formulation of reducible sets of totally symmetric bosonic and fermionic higher-spin fields in flat and AdS backgrounds of any dimension, that correspond to so-called higher-spin triplets resulting from the string-inspired BRST approach. The explicit relationship of the fields of higher-spin triplets to the higher-spin vielbeins and connections is found. The gauge invariant actions are constructed including, in particular, the reducible (i.e. triplet) higher-spin fermion case in AdS_D space.
We construct, in D=3,4,6 and 10 space-time dimensions, supersymmetric Lagrangians for free massless higher spin fields which belong to reducible representations of the Poincare group. The fermionic part of these models consists of spinor-tensor fields which are totally symmetrical with respect to their tensor indices, while the bosonic part contains totally symmetric tensor fields as well as the simplest mixed-symmetry fields. A peculiar feature of these models is that they describe higher- and lower-spin supermultiplets in different dimensions in a uniform way.
We compute the current exchanges between triplets of higher spin fields which describe reducible representations of the Poincare group. Through this computation we can extract the propagator of the reducible higher spin fields which compose the triplet. We show how to decompose the triplet fields into irreducible HS fields which obey Fronsdal equations, and how to compute the current-current interaction for the cubic couplings which appear in ArXiv:0708.1399 [hep-th] using the decomposition into irreducible modes. We compare this result with the same computation using a gauge fixed (Feynman) v…
We show how to decompose a Lagrangian for reducible massless bosonic Higher Spin modes into the ones describing irreducible (Fronsdal) Higher Spin modes on a D dimensional AdS space. Using this decomposition we construct a new Nonabelian cubic interaction vertex for reducible higher spin modes and two scalars on AdS from the already known vertex which involves irreducible (Fronsdal) modes.
We analyze short and long multiplets which appear in the OPE expansion of ``chiral'' primary operators in N=4 Super Yang--Mills theory. Among them, higher spin long and new short multiplets appear, having the interpretation, in the AdS/CFT correspondence, of string states and supergravity multiparticle states respectively. We also analyze the decomposition of long multiplets under N=1 supersymmetry, as a possible tool to explore other supersymmetric deformations of IIB string on AdS_5 x S_5.
We review the unitarity bounds and the multiplet shortening of UIR's of 4 dimensional superconformal algebras $SU(2,2|N)$, ($N=1,2,4$) in view of their dual role in the AdS/SCFT correspondence. Some applications to KK spectra, non-perturbative states and stringy states are given.
We present a compact formula in Mellin space for the four-point tree-level holographic correlators of chiral primary operators of arbitrary conformal weights in $(2,0)$ supergravity on $AdS_3 \times S^3$, with two operators in tensor multiplet and the other two in gravity multiplet. This is achieved by solving the recursion relation arising from a hidden six-dimensional conformal symmetry. We note the compact expression is obtained after carefully analysing the analytic structures of the correlators. Various limits of the correlators are studied, including the maximally R-symmetry violating li…
We consider N=4 SU(2)xU(1) gauged supergravity on asymptotically-AdS_5 backgrounds. By a near-boundary analysis we determine the boundary-dominant components of the bulk fields from their partially gauge-fixed field equations. Subdominant components are projected out in the boundary limit and we find a reduced set of boundary fields, constituting the N=2 Weyl multiplet. The residual bulk symmetries are found to act on the boundary fields as four-dimensional diffeomorphisms, N=2 supersymmetry and (super-)Weyl transformations. This shows that the on-shell N=4 supergravity multiplet yields the N=…
We consider the minimal off-shell formulation for four-dimensional N=2 supergravity with a cosmological term, in which the second compensator is an improved tensor multiplet. We use it to derive a linearized supergravity action (and its dual versions) around the anti-de Sitter (AdS) background in terms of three N=2 off-shell multiplets: an unconstrained scalar superfield, vector and tensor multiplets. This allows us to deduce the structure of the supercurrent multiplet associated with those supersymmetric theories which naturally couple to the supergravity formulation chosen, with or without a…
In N = 2 Poincare supersymmetry in four space-time dimensions, there exist off-shell supermultiplets with intrinsic central charge, including the important examples of the Fayet-Sohnius hypermultiplet, the linear and the nonlinear vector-tensor (VT) multiplets. One can also define similar supermultiplets in the context of N = 2 anti-de Sitter (AdS) supersymmetry, although the origin of the central charge becomes somewhat obscure. In this paper we develop a general setting for N = 2 AdS supersymmetric theories with central charge. We formulate a supersymmetric action principle in N = 2 AdS supe…
We discuss the two- and three-point functions of the SO(5) R-current of the (2,0) tensor multiplet in d=6, using AdS/CFT correspondence as well as a free field realization. The results obtained via AdS/CFT correspondence coincide with the ones from a free field calculation up to an overall 4N^3 factor. This is the same factor found recently in studies of the two- and three-point functions of the energy momentum tensor in the (2,0) theory. We also connect our results to the trace anomaly in d=6 in the presence of external vector fields and briefly discuss their implications.
We discuss a general pairing that occurs in compactifications of M-theory on AdS_4 x X^7 backgrounds between massless ultra short multiplets and their massive shadows, namely certain universal long multiplets with fixed protected dimensions. In particular we consider the shadow of the short graviton multiplet in N=3 compactifications. It turns out to be a massive spin 3/2 multiplet with scale dimension E_0=3 and with the quantum numbers of a super-Higgs multiplet. Hence each N=3 AdS_4 x X^7 vacuum is actually to be interpreted as a spontaneously broken phase of an N=4 theory. Comparison with s…
In this paper, relying on previous results of one of us on harmonic analysis, we derive the complete spectrum of Osp(3|4) X SU(3) multiplets that one obtains compactifying D=11 supergravity on the unique homogeneous space N^{0,1,0} that has a tri-sasakian structure, namely leads to N=3 supersymmetry both in the four-dimensional bulk and on the three-dimensional boundary. As in previously analyzed cases the knowledge of the Kaluza Klein spectrum, together with general information on the geometric structure of the compact manifold is an essential ingredient to guess and construct the correspondi…
We study the higher-derivative equations for gauge potentials of arbitrary mixed-symmetry type obtained by setting to zero the divergences of the corresponding curvature tensors. We show that they propagate the same reducible multiplets as the Maxwell-like second-order equations for gauge fields subject to constrained gauge transformations. As an additional output of our analysis, we provide a streamlined presentation of the Ricci-like case, where the traces of the same curvature tensors are set to zero, and we present a simple algebraic evaluation of the particle content associated with the L…
Using exceptional field theory we construct supersymmetric warped AdS$_7$ vacua of massive IIA and AdS$_6$ vacua of IIB, as well as their consistent truncations including vector multiplets. We show there are no consistent truncations of massive IIA supergravity around its supersymmetric AdS$_7$ vacua with vector multiplets when the Roman's mass is non-vanishing. For AdS$_6$ vacua of IIB supergravity, we find that in addition to the consistent truncation to pure $\mathrm{F}(4)$ gauged SUGRA, the only other half-maximal truncations that are consistent result in $\mathrm{F}(4)$ gauged SUGRA coupl…
Long ago, Achucarro and Townsend discovered that in three dimensions (3D) N-extended anti-de Sitter (AdS) supergravity exists in several incarnations, which were called the (p,q) AdS supergravity theories with non-negative integers p>=q such that N=p+q. Using the superspace approach to 3D N-extended supergravity developed in arXiv:1101.4013, we present three superfield formulations for N=2 supergravity that allow for well defined cosmological terms and supersymmetric AdS solutions. The conformal compensators corresponding to these theories are respectively: (i) a chiral scalar multiplet: (ii) …
We study the spectrum of certain two-particle operators in the supergravity regime of the D1-D5 system, focussing on the four-point correlators of tensor multiplets on $AdS_3\times S^3$ at tree level. In Mellin space, these are nicely determined by a single amplitude, which makes manifest the large $p$ limit, the connection with the flat space S-matrix, and the six dimensional conformal symmetry. We compute the $(1,1)\times \overline{(1,1)}$ superconformal blocks for the two-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=(4,4)$ conformal theory at the boundary, and then we obtain a formula for the anomalous dimensi…
Within the framework of ${\mathcal N}=1$ anti-de Sitter (AdS) supersymmetry in four dimensions, we derive superspin projection operators (or superprojectors). For a tensor superfield $\mathfrak{V}_{α(m)\dotα (n)} := \mathfrak{V}_{(α_1...α_m) (\dot α_1...\dot α_n)}$ on AdS superspace, with $m$ and $n$ non-negative integers, the corresponding superprojector turns $\mathfrak{V}_{α(m)\dot α(n)} $ into a multiplet with the properties of a conserved conformal supercurrent. It is demonstrated that the poles of such superprojectors correspond to (partially) massless multiplets, and the associated gaug…
As a step towards formulating projective superspace techniques for supergravity theories with eight supercharges, this work is devoted to field theory in five-dimensional N = 1 anti-de Sitter superspace AdS^{5|8} = SU(2,2|1)/SO(4,1) x U(1) which is a maximally symmetric curved background. We develop the differential geometry of AdS^{5|8} and describe its isometries in terms of Killing supervectors. Various off-shell supermultiplets in AdS^{5|8} x S^2 are defined, and supersymmetric actions are constructed both in harmonic and projective superspace approaches. Several families of supersymmetric…
We derive the invariant operators of the zero-form, the one-form, the two-form and the spinor from which the mass spectrum of Kaluza Klein of eleven-dimensional supergravity on AdS_4 x N^{010} can be derived by means of harmonic analysis. We calculate their eigenvalues for all representations of SU(3)xSO(3). We show that the information contained in these operators is sufficient to reconstruct the complete N=3 supersymmetry content of the compactified theory. We find the N=3 massless graviton multiplet, the Betti multiplet and the SU(3) Killing vector multiplet.
We compute the conformal anomaly of free d=6 superconformal (2,0) tensor multiplet on generic curved background. Up to a trivial covariant total-derivative term, it is given by the sum of the type A part proportional to the 6-d Euler density, and the type B part containing three independent Weyl invariants. Multiplied by factor 4N^3, the type B part of the anomaly reproduces exactly the corresponding part of the conformal anomaly of large N multiple M5-brane (2,0) theory as predicted (hep-th/9806087) by the AdS/CFT correspondence. The coefficients of the type A anomaly differ by the factor 4/7…
We provide strong evidence that all tree-level 4-point holographic correlators in AdS$_3 \times S^3$ are constrained by a hidden 6D conformal symmetry. This property has been discovered in the AdS$_5 \times S^5$ context and noticed in the tensor multiplet subsector of the AdS$_3 \times S^3$ theory. Here we extend it to general AdS$_3 \times S^3$ correlators which contain also the chiral primary operators of spin zero and one that sit in the gravity multiplet. The key observation is that the 6D conformal primary field associated with these operators is not a scalar but a self-dual $3$-form prim…
The Konishi superconformal multiplet is an important theoretical laboratory where one can test AdS/CFT methods to compute strong coupling corrections to the spectrum of superstrings in AdS_5 x S^5. In particular, one can exploit integrability for finite charge states/operators. The multiplet ground state is a singlet operator with two simple descendants in the rank-1 sectors sl(2) and su(2) of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. Recently, the next-to-leading quantum correction to the sl(2) state has been computed. Here, we use the algebraic curve approach to determine the correction to the other stat…
In this paper by means of harmonic analysis we derive the complete spectrum of Osp(2|4) x SU(2) x SU(2) x SU(2) multiplets that one obtains compactifying D=11 supergravity on the homogeneous space Q^{111}. In particular we analyze the structure of the short multiplets and compare them with the corresponding composite operators of the N=2 conformal field theory dual to such a compactification, found in a previous publication. We get complete agreement between the quantum numbers of the supergravity multiplets on one side and those of the conformal operators on the other side, confirming the str…
We develop further the general light-cone gauge approach in AdS space and apply it for studying continuous-spin field. For such field, we find light-cone gauge Lagrangian and realization of relativistic symmetries. We find a simple realization of spin operators entering our approach. Generalization of our results to the gauge invariant Lagrangian formulation is also described. We conjecture that, in the framework of AdS/CFT, the continuous-spin AdS field is dual to light-ray conformal operator. For some particular cases, our continuous-spin field leads to reducible models. We note two reducibl…
We consider a Penrose limit of AdS_4 x Q^{1,1,1} that provides the pp-wave geometry equal to the one in the Penrose limit of AdS_4 x S^7. We expect that there exists a subsector of three dimensional N=2 dual gauge theory which has enhanced N=8 maximal supersymmetry. We identify operators in the N=2 gauge theory with 11-dimensional supergravity KK excitations in the pp-wave geometry and describe how both the chiral multiplets and semi-conserved multiplets fall into N=8 supermultiplets.
We develop the method of Green's function to evaluate the one loop determinants that arise in localization of supersymmetric field theories on $AdS$ spaces. The theories we study have at least ${\cal N}=2$ supersymmetry and normalisable boundary conditions are consistent with supersymmetry. We then show that under general assumptions the variation of the one loop determinant with respect to the localizing background reduces to a total derivative. Therefore it receives contributions only from the origin of $AdS$ and from asymptotic infinity. From expanding both the Greens function and the quadr…
We consider type IIB configurations carrying both NS-NS and R-R electric and magnetic 3-form charges, and whose near horizon geometry contains AdS_3 x S^3. Noting that S^3 is a U(1) bundle over CP^1 \sim S^2, we construct the dual type IIA configurations by a Hopf T-duality along the U(1) fibre. In the case where there are only R-R charges, the S^3 is untwisted to S^2 x S^1 (in analogy with a previous treatment of AdS_5 x S^5.) However, in the case where there are only NS-NS charges, the S^3 becomes the cyclic lens space S^3/Z_p with its round metric (and is hence invariant when p=1), where p …
We show that the K-K spectrum of IIB string on AdS_5 x S_5 is described by ``twisted chiral'' N=4 superfields, naturally described in ``harmonic superspace'', obtained by taking suitable gauge singlets polynomials of the D3-brane boundary SU(n) superconformal field theory. To each p-order polynomial is associated a massive K-K short representation with 256 x 1/12 p^2(p^2 -1) states. The p=2 quadratic polynomial corresponds to the ``supercurrent multiplet'' describing the ``massless'' bulk graviton multiplet.
In this short note we present a Lagrangian formulation for free bosonic Higher Spin fields which belong to massless reducible representations of D-dimensional Anti de Sitter group using an ambient space formalism.
We derive the full Kaluza-Klein spectrum of type IIB supergravity compactified on AdS_5 x T^{11} with T^{11} = (SU(2) x SU(2))/U(1). From the knowledge of the spectrum and general multiplet shortening conditions, we make a refined test of the AdS/CFT correspondence, by comparison between various shortenings of SU(2,2|1) supermultiplets on AdS_5 and different families of boundary operators with protected dimensions. Additional towers of long multiplets with rational dimensions, that are not protected by supersymmetry, are also predicted from the supergravity analysis.
We consider some long multiplets describing bulk massive excitations of M-theory two-branes and IIB string three-branes which correspond to ``non chiral'' primary operators of the boundary OSp(8/4) and SU(2,2/4) superconformal field theories. Examples of such multiplets are the ``radial'' modes on the branes, including up to spin 4 excitations, which may be then considered as prototypes of states which are not described by the K-K spectrum of the corresponding supergravity theories on AdS_4 x S_7 and AdS_5 x S_5 respectively.
Some aspects of the $D=6, (2,0)$ tensor multiplet are discussed. Its formulation as an analytic superfield on a suitably defined superspace and its superconformal properties are reviewed. Powers of the field strength superfield define a series of superconformal fields which correspond to the KK multiplets of D=11 supergravity on an $AdS_7\xz S^4$ background. Correlation functions of these operators are briefly discussed.
We derive a metric-like Lagrangian and equations of motion, in AdS space, for multiplets of fermionic fields with spin ranged from 1/2 to s, from their frame-like formulation.
We consider 4d N=1 SCFTs, topologically twisted on compact constant curvature Riemann surfaces, giving rise to 2d N=(0,2) SCFTs. The exact R-current of these 2d SCFT extremizes the central charge c_{2d}, similarly to the 4d picture, where the exact R-current maximizes the central charge a_{4d}. There are global currents that do not mix with the R-current in 4d but their mixing becomes non trivial in 2d. In this paper we study the holographic dual of this process by analyzing a 5d N=2 truncation of T^{1,1} with one Betti vector multiplet, dual to the baryonic current on the CFT side. The hologr…
All quartic couplings of scalar fields $s^I$ that are dual to extended chiral primary operators in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM$_4$ are derived by using the covariant equations of motion for type IIB supergravity on $AdS_5\times S^5$. It is shown that despite some expectations if one keeps the structure of the cubic terms untouched, the quartic action obtained contains terms with two and four derivatives. It is shown that the quartic action vanishes on shell in the extremal case, e.g. k_1=k_2+k_3+k_4. Consistency of the truncation of the quartic couplings to the massless multiplet of the ${\cal N}=8$, d=5…
We report on tests of the AdS/CFT correspondence that are made possible by complete knowledge of the Kaluza-Klein mass spectrum of type IIB supergravity on $AdS_5 \times T^{11}$ with T^{11}=SU(2)^2/U(1). After briefly discussing general multiplet shortening conditions in SU(2,2|1) and PSU(2,2|4), we compare various types of short SU(2,2|1) supermultiplets on AdS_5 and different families of boundary operators with protected dimensions. The supergravity analysis predicts the occurrence in the SCFT at leading order in N and g_s N, of extra towers of long multiplets whose dimensions are rational b…
We study (massive) spin-2 fluctuations around warped $AdS_6$ solutions with $16$ supersymmetries in type IIB supergravity. We identify two classes of fluctuations which are universally present for all solutions of this form. The holographically dual operators have scaling dimensions $Δ=5+3\ell$ and $Δ=6+3\ell$, where the integer $\ell$ encodes the $R$-symmetry charge. They are identified as descendant states in respective BPS multiplets (the current multiplet for $Δ=5$). We also compute the normalization of the energy-momentum tensor two-point function and show that it is related to the $S^5$ …
We consider M-theory on AdS_4 x N^{0,1,0} where N^{0,1,0}= (SU(3) x SU(2))/(SU(2) x U(1)). We review a Penrose limit of AdS_4 x N^{0,1,0} that provides the pp-wave geometry of AdS_4 x S^7. There exists a subsector of three dimensional N=3 dual gauge theory, by taking both the conformal dimension and R-charge large with the finiteness of their difference, which has enhanced N=8 maximal supersymmetry. We identify operators in the N=3 gauge theory with supergravity KK excitations in the pp-wave geometry and describe how the N=2 gauge theory operators originating from both N=3 short vector multipl…
We construct the effective supergravity actions for the lowest massive Kaluza-Klein states on the supersymmetric background AdS_3 x S^3 x S^3. In particular, we describe the coupling of the supergravity multiplet to the lowest massive spin-3/2 multiplet which contains 256 physical degrees of freedom and includes the moduli of the theory. The effective theory is realized as the broken phase of a particular gauging of the maximal three-dimensional supergravity with gauge group SO(4) x SO(4). Its ground state breaks half of the supersymmetries leading to 8 massive gravitinos acquiring mass in a s…
Recently we conjectured the four-point amplitude of graviton multiplets in ${\rm AdS}_5 \times {\rm S}^5$ at one loop by exploiting the operator product expansion of $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. Here we give the first extension of those results to include Kaluza-Klein modes, obtaining the amplitude for two graviton multiplets and two states of the first KK mode. Our method again relies on resolving the large N degeneracy among a family of long double-trace operators, for which we obtain explicit formulas for the leading anomalous dimensions. Having constructed the one-loop amplitud…
Within the framework of (2,0) anti-de Sitter (AdS) supersymmetry in three dimensions, we propose a multiplet of higher-spin currents. Making use of this supercurrent, we construct two off-shell gauge formulations for a massless multiplet of half-integer superspin $(s+\frac 12)$, for every integer $s>0$. In the $s=1$ case, one formulation describes the linearised action for (2,0) anti-de Sitter supergravity, while the other gives the type III minimal supergravity action in (2,0) AdS superspace, with both linearised supergravity actions originally derived in arXiv:1109.0496. The constructed mass…
The lightlike supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to an arbitrary number of abelian vector multiplets are classified using spinorial geometry techniques. The solutions fall into two classes, depending on whether the Killing spinor is constant or not. In both cases, we give explicit examples of supersymmetric backgrounds. Among these BPS solutions, which preserve one quarter of the supersymmetry, there are gravitational waves propagating on domain walls or on bubbles of nothing that asymptote to AdS_4. Furthermore, we obtain the additional constraints obeyed by half…
In this paper we discuss candidate superconformal N=2 gauge theories that realize the AdS/CFT correspondence with M--theory compactified on the homogeneous Sasakian 7-manifolds M^7 that were classified long ago. In particular we focus on the two cases M^7=Q^{1,1,1} and M^7=M^{1,1,1}, for the latter the Kaluza Klein spectrum being completely known. We show how the toric description of M^7 suggests the gauge group and the supersingleton fields. The conformal dimensions of the latter can be independently calculated by comparison with the mass of baryonic operators that correspond to 5-branes wrap…
We present the tree-level five-point amplitude of the lowest KK mode of SYM on AdS$_5$$\times$S$^3$, dual to the correlator of the flavor current multiplet in the dual 4d ${\cal N}=2$ SCFT. Its color and kinematical structure is particularly simple and resembles that of the flat-space gluon amplitude.
We consider general-symmetry higher spin fields in AdS_5 and derive expressions for their one-loop corrections to vacuum energy E and the associated 4d boundary conformal anomaly a-coefficient. We a propose a similar expression for the second conformal anomaly c-coefficient. We show that all the three quantities (E, a, c) computed for N=8 gauged 5d supergravity are -1/2 of the values for N=4 conformal 4d supergravity and also twice the values for N=4 Maxwell multiplet. This gives 5d derivation of the fact that the system of N=4 conformal supergravity and four N=4 Maxwell multiplets is anomaly …
We study the trace anomaly of the (2,0) tensor multiplet in d=6 in the presence of a background SO(5) vector field acting as a source for the R-current. Using both a free-field theory calculation and AdS_7/CFT_6 correspondence, we find that only one of the two possible anomaly structures is non-zero and that its coefficient at strong-coupling differs by the well-known overall factor 4N^3 from the corresponding weak coupling result. We also discuss the relevance of our result to studies of the R-current anomaly in the (2,0) multiplet.
We use exceptional field theory to systematically study all possible consistent truncations around half-maximal AdS$_5$ vacua of M-theory. We show that only truncations with at most three vector multiplets are consistent. The possible gaugings are SU(2)$\times$U(1) and ISO(3)$\times$U(1) where, in the first case, the U(1) factor can have different embeddings inside the global symmetry group SO$(5,n)$, where $n \leq 3$ equals the number of vector multiplets. We show that the ISO(3)$\times$U(1) truncation only exists around vacua that are locally an $S^4$ fibration over a Riemann surface, and ar…
We review the extrapolation of the single-particle string spectrum on AdS(5)xS(5) to the Higher Spin enhancement point and the successful comparison of the resulting spectrum with the one of single-trace gauge-invariant operators in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. We also describe how to decompose the common spectrum in terms of massless and massive representations of the relevant Higher Spin symmetry group. Based on the lecture delivered by M. Bianchi at the First Solvay Conference on Higher-Spin Gauge Theories held in Bruxelles, on May 12-14, 2004.
As was shown earlier, one-loop correction in 10d supergravity on AdS_5 x S^5 corresponds to the contributions to the vacuum energy and boundary 4d conformal anomaly which are minus the values for one n=4 Maxwell supermultiplet, thus reproducing the subleading term in their N^2-1 coefficient in the dual SU(N) SYM theory. We perform similar one-loop computations in 11d supergravity on AdS_7 x S^4 and 10d supergravity on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4. In the AdS_7 case we find that the corrections to the 6d conformal anomaly a-coefficient and the vacuum energy are again minus the ones for one (2,0) tensor mu…
We construct explicit consistent Kaluza-Klein reductions of type IIB supergravity on HK_4 x S^1, where HK_4 is an arbitrary four-dimensional hyper-Kaehler manifold, and on SE5, an arbitrary five-dimensional Sasaki-Einstein manifold. In the former case we obtain the bosonic action of D=5 N=4 (ungauged) supergravity coupled to two vector multiplets. For the SE_5 case we extend a known reduction, which leads to minimal D=5 N=2 gauged supergravity, to also include a multiplet of massive fields, containing the breathing mode of the SE_5. We show that the resulting D=5 action is also consistent with…
We study $N=2$ gauged supergravity with $U(1)$ gauge group coupled to $n_v$ vector multiplets and find quite general analytic solutions for quarter-BPS black holes with mass, NUT and dyonic Maxwell charges. The solutions we find have running scalar fields and flow in the IR region to a horizon geometry of the form AdS$_2\times Σ_g$.
Building on the superspace formulation for four-dimensional N=2 matter-coupled supergravity developed in arXiv:0805.4683, we elaborate upon a general setting for field theory in N=2 conformally flat superspaces, and concentrate specifically on the case of anti-de Sitter (AdS) superspace. We demonstrate, in particular, that associated with the N=2 AdS supergeometry is a unique vector multiplet such that the corresponding covariantly chiral field strength W_0 is constant, W_0=1. This multiplet proves to be intrinsic in the sense that it encodes all the information about the N=2 AdS supergeometry…
The bosonic parts of D3-brane actions in AdS(5) backgrounds are known to have symmetries which are field-dependent extensions of conformal transformations of the worldvolume coordinates. Using the coset space SU(2,2|1)/SO(4,1), we apply the method of nonlinear realizations to construct a four-dimensional N = 1 off-shell supersymmetric action which has a generalized field-dependent superconformal invariance. The Goldstone fields for broken scale, chiral and S-supersymmetry transformations form a chiral supermultiplet.
We compute the O(1) contribution to holographic c-a for IIB supergravity on AdS_5 x S^5/Z_n and on AdS_5 x T^{1,1}/Z_n. In both cases, we find agreement with the dual field theory results, thus providing 1/N^2 checks of AdS/CFT with reduced supersymmetry. Since the holographic computation involves a sum over shortened multiplets in the KK tower, we provide some details on the S^5 and T^{1,1} spectra in a form that is convenient when considering their Z_n orbifolds. The computation for the even Z_n orbifolds of S^5 includes a sum over the multiplets in the twisted sector that is essential for o…
Correlators of gauge invariant operators provide useful information on the dynamics, phases and spectra of a quantum field theory. In this paper, we consider N=1 supersymmetric theories and focus our attention on the supercurrent multiplet. We give a complete characterization of two-point functions of operators belonging to such multiplet, like the energy-momentum tensor and the supercurrent, and study the relations between them. We discuss instances of weakly coupled and strongly coupled theories, in which different symmetries, like conformal invariance and supersymmetry, may be conserved and…
We present new supersymmetric domain wall and string solutions of five-dimensional N = 2 gauged supergravity coupled to an arbitrary number of vector multiplets. Using the techniques of very special geometry allows to obtain the most general domain wall preserving half of the supersymmetries. This solution, which describes a renormalization group flow in the dual field theory, is given in terms of Weierstrass elliptic functions. The magnetically charged, one quarter supersymmetric string solutions are shown to be closely related to Liouville theory. We furthermore investigate general product s…
