In this talk we discuss sector decomposition. This is a method to disentangle overlapping singularities through a sequence of blow-ups. We report on an open-source implementation of this algorithm to compute numerically the Laurent expansion of divergent multi-loop integrals. We also show how this method can be used to prove a theorem which relates the coefficients of the Laurent series of dimensionally regulated multi-loop integrals to periods.
We present short review of two methods for obtaining functional equations for Feynman integrals. Application of these methods for finding functional equations for one- and two- loop integrals is described in detail. It is shown that with the aid of functional equations Feynman integrals in general kinematics can be expressed in terms of simpler integrals. Similarities between functional equations for Feynman integrals and addition theorem for Abel integrals are shortly discussed.

The method of expansion of integrals in external parameters is suggested. It is quite universal and works for Feynman integrals both in Euclidean and Minkowski regions of momenta.
In this talk I review the connections between Feynman integrals and multiple polylogarithms. After an introductory section on loop integrals I discuss the Mellin-Barnes transformation and shuffle algebras. In a subsequent section multiple polylogarithms are introduced. Finally, I discuss how certain Feynman integrals evaluate to multiple polylogarithms.
We show that at one-loop order, negative-dimensional, Mellin-Barnes' (MB) and Feynman parametrization (FP) approaches to Feynman loop integrals calculations are equivalent. Starting with a generating functional, for two and then for $N$-point scalar integrals we show how to reobtain MB results, using negative-dimensional and FP techniques. The $N-$point result is valid for different masses, arbitrary exponents of propagators and dimension.
Some recent results on evaluating Feynman integrals are reviewed. The status of the method based on Mellin-Barnes representation as a powerful tool to evaluate individual Feynman integrals is characterized. A new method based on Groebner bases to solve integration by parts relations in an automatic way is described.
We develop a general framework for the evaluation of $d$-dimensional cut Feynman integrals based on the Baikov-Lee representation of purely-virtual Feynman integrals. We implement the generalized Cutkosky cutting rule using Cauchy's residue theorem and identify a set of constraints which determine the integration domain. The method applies equally well to Feynman integrals with a unitarity cut in a single kinematic channel and to maximally-cut Feynman integrals. In this paper the C++ version of FIRE is presented - a powerful program performing Feynman integral reduction to master integrals. All previous versions used only Wolfram Mathematica, the current version mostly uses Wolfram Mathematica as a front-end. However, the most complicated part, the reduction itself can now be done by C++, which significantly improves the performance and allows one to reduce Feynman integrals in previously impossible situations.
We discuss a progress in calculation of Feynman integrals which has been done with help of the differential equation method and demonstrate the results for a class of two-point two-loop diagrams.
A practical criterion for the irreducibility (with respect to integration by part identities) of a particular Feynman integral to a given set of integrals is presented. The irreducibility is shown to be related to the existence of stable (with zero gradient) points of a specially constructed polynomial.
Phase space cuts are implemented by inserting Heaviside theta functions in the integrands of momentum-space Feynman integrals. By directly parametrizing theta functions and constructing integration-by-parts (IBP) identities in the parametric representation, we provide a systematic method to reduce integrals with cuts. Since the IBP method is available, it becomes possible to evaluate integrals with cuts by constructing and solving differential equations.
We suggest a mathematical definition of the notion of master integrals and present a brief review of algorithmic methods to solve reduction problems for Feynman integrals based on integration by parts relations. In particular, we discuss a recently suggested reduction algorithm which uses Groebner bases. New results obtained with its help for a family of three-loop Feynman integrals are outlined.
The recently developed algorithm FIRE performs the reduction of Feynman integrals to master integrals. It is based on a number of strategies, such as applying the Laporta algorithm, the s-bases algorithm, region-bases and integrating explicitly over loop momenta when possible. Currently it is being used in complicated three-loop calculations.
New types of relationships between Feynman integrals are presented. It is shown that Feynman integrals satisfy functional equations connecting integrals with different values of scalar invariants and masses. A method is proposed for obtaining such relations. The derivation of functional equations for one-loop propagator- and vertex - type integrals is given. It is shown that a propagator - type integral can be written as a sum of two integrals with modified scalar invariants and one propagator massless. In these lectures I will give an introduction to Feynman integrals. In the first part of the course I review the basics of the perturbative expansion in quantum field theories. In the second part of the course I will discuss more advanced topics: Mathematical aspects of loop integrals related to periods, shuffle algebras and multiple polylogarithms are covered as well as practical algorithms for evaluating Feynman integrals.
The reduction of Feynman integrals to master integrals is an algebraic problem that requires algorithmic approaches at the modern level of calculations. Straightforward applications of the classical Buchberger algorithm to construct Groebner bases seem to be inefficient. An essential modification designed especially for this problem has been worked out. It has been already applied in two- and three-loop calculations. We are also suggesting to combine our method with the Laporta's algorithm.
A Mathematica implementation of the program LERG-I is presented that performs the reduction of tensor integrals, encountered in one-loop Feynman diagram calculations, to scalar integrals. The program was originally coded in REDUCE and in that incarnation was applied to a number of problems of physical interest.
The systematic approach to solving the recurrence relations for multi-loop integrals is described. In particular, the criteria of their reducibility is suggested.
All three-loop on-shell QCD Feynman integrals with two masses can be reduced to 27 master integrals. Here we calculate these master integrals, expanded in epsilon, both exactly in the mass ratio and as series in limiting cases.
For the investigation of higher order Feynman integrals, potentially with tensor structure, it is highly desirable to have numerical methods and automated tools for dedicated, but sufficiently 'simple' numerical approaches. We elaborate two algorithms for this purpose which may be applied in the Euclidean kinematical region and in d=4-2*epsilon dimensions. In this paper, we present a new approach to the construction of Mellin-Barnes representations for Feynman integrals inspired by the Method of Brackets. The novel technique is helpful to lower the dimensionality of Mellin-Barnes representations in complicated cases, some examples are given.
The computation of Feynman integrals is often the bottleneck of multi-loop calculations. We propose and implement a new method to efficiently evaluate such integrals in the physical region through the numerical integration of a suitable set of differential equations, where the initial conditions are provided in the unphysical region via the sector decomposition method. We present numerical results for a set of two-loop integrals, where the non-planar ones complete the master integrals for $gg\toγγ$ and $q\bar{q}\toγγ$ scattering mediated by the top quark.
We report on a new method for the numerical evaluation of loop integrals, based on the Feynman Tree Theorem. The loop integrals are replaced by phase-space integration over fictitious extra on-shell particles. This integration can be performed alongside with the Monte-Carlo integration of ordinary phase-space, directly leading to NLO event generation.
Feynman diagrams may be evaluated by Mellin-Barnes representations of their Feynman parameter integrals in d=4-2\eps dimensions. Recently, the Mathematica toolkit AMBRE has been developed for the automatic derivation of such representations with a loop-by-loop approach. We describe a strategy to solve differential equations for Feynman integrals by powers series expansions near singular points and to obtain high precision results for the corresponding master integrals. We consider Feynman integrals with two scales, i.e. nontrivially depending on one variable. In this paper, the reduction of Feynman integrals in the parametric representation is considered. This method proves to be more efficient than the integration-by-part (IBP) method in the momentum space. Tensor integrals can directly be parametrized without performing tensor reductions. The integrands of parametric integrals are functions of Lorentz scalars, instead of four momenta. In this paper we present a new release of the FIESTA program (Feynman Integral Evaluation by a Sector decomposiTion Approach). FIESTA5 is performance-oriented - we implemented improvements of various kinds in order to make Feynman integral evaluation faster. We plugged in two new integrators, the Quasi Monte Carlo and Tensor Train. At the same time the old code of FIESTA4 was upgraded to the C++17 standard and mostly rewritten without self-made structures such as hash tables. We study the problem of solving integration-by-parts recurrence relations for a given class of Feynman integrals which is characterized by an arbitrary polynomial in the numerator and arbitrary integer powers of propagators, {\it i.e.}, the problem of expressing any Feynman integral from this class as a linear combination of master integrals. Feynman integrals are easily solved if their system of differential equations is in $\varepsilon$-form. In this letter we show by the explicit example of the kite integral family that an $\varepsilon$-form can even be achieved, if the Feynman integrals do not evaluate to multiple polylogarithms. The $\varepsilon$-form is obtained by a (non-algebraic) change of basis for the master integrals.
We give a pedagogical review of the recently-introduced notion of a "scalar product" between Feynman integrals and how it helps us understand the analytic structure of the perturbative S-matrix. Based on the Baikov representation, we present a systematic approach to compute cuts of Feynman Integrals, appropriately defined in $d$ dimensions. The information provided by these computations may be used to determine the class of functions needed to analytically express the full integrals.
A new approach to compute Feynman Integrals is presented. It relies on an integral representation of a given Feynman Integral in terms of simpler ones. Using this approach, we present, for the first time, results for a certain family of non-planar five-point two-loop Master Integrals with one external off-shell particle, relevant for instance for $H+2$ jets production at the LHC, in both Euclidean and physical kinematical regions.
This talk summarizes recent developments in the evaluation of Feynman integrals using hyperlogarithms. We discuss extensions of the original method, new results that were obtained with this approach and point out current problems and future directions.
The worldline path integral approach to the Bern-Kosower formalism is reviewed, which offers an alternative to Feynman diagram calculations in quantum field theory. Recent progress in constructing a multiloop generalization of this formalism is reported.
Canonical Feynman integrals are of great interest in the study of scattering amplitudes at the multi-loop level. We propose to construct $d\log$-form integrals of the hypergeometric type, treat them as a representation of Feynman integrals, and project them into master integrals using intersection theory. In this talk we discuss a class of Feynman integrals, which can be expressed to all orders in the dimensional regularisation parameter as iterated integrals of modular forms. We review the mathematical prerequisites related to elliptic curves and modular forms. Integer relation algorithms can convert numerical results for Feynman integrals to exact evaluations, when one has reason to suspect the existence of reductions to linear combinations of a basis, with rational or algebraic coefficients. Once a tentative reduction is obtained, confidence in its validity is greatly increased by computing more decimal digits of the terms and verifying the stability of the result. We develop techniques for computing and analyzing multiple unitarity cuts of Feynman integrals, and reconstructing the integral from these cuts. We study the relations among unitarity cuts of a Feynman integral computed via diagrammatic cutting rules, the discontinuity across the corresponding branch cut, and the coproduct of the integral. For single unitarity cuts, these relations are familiar. Here we show that they can be generalized to sequences of unitarity cuts in different channels. By introducing an auxiliary parameter, we find a new representation for Feynman integrals, which defines a Feynman integral by analytical continuation of a series containing only vacuum integrals. The new representation therefore conceptually translates the problem of computing Feynman integrals to the problem of performing analytical continuations.
