The description of the cosmological expansion and its possible local manifestations via treating the proper conformal transformations as a coordinate transformation from a comoving Lorentz reference frame to an uniformly accelerated one is given. The explicit form of the conformal time inhomogeneity is established. The expression defining the location cosmological distance in the form of simple function on the red shift is obtained. By coupling it with the relativistic formula for the longitudinal Doppler effect, the explicit expression for the Hubble law is obtained, which gives rise to the connection between acceleration and the Hubble constant. The expression generalizing the conventional Hubble law reproduces kinematically the experimentally observed phenomenon treated conventionally as a Dark Energy manifestation. The conformal time deformation in the small time limit leads to the quadratic time nonlinearity. Being applied to describe the location-type experiments, this predicts the existence of the universal uniformly changing blue-shifted frequency drift. The obtained formulae reproduce the Pioneer Anomaly experimental data.
It is introduced a hypothesis that the gravitational potential in the universe changes linearly with the time. This enables to explain the Hubble red shift and the anomalous acceleration of Pioneer 10 and 11.
The reported anomalous acceleration acting on the Pioneers spacecrafts could be seen as a consequence of the existence of some local curvature in light geodesics when using the coordinate speed of light in an expanding space-time. The effect is related with the non synchronous character of the underlying metric and therefore, planets closed orbits can not reveal it. It is shown that the cosmic expansion rate -the Hubble parameter H- has been indeed detected. Additionally, a relation for an existing annual term is obtained which depends on the cosine of the ecliptic latitude of the spacecraft, …
The description of the cosmological expansion and its possible local manifestations via treating the proper conformal transformations as a coordinate transformation from a comoving Lorentz reference frame (RF) to an uniformly accelerated RF is given. The explicit form of the conformal deformation of time is established. The expression defining the location cosmological distance in the form of simple function on the red shift is obtained. By coupling it with the well known relativistic formula defining the relative velocity of the mutually moving apart source and receiver of the signal, the exp…
On the basis of the nonisometric transformations subgroup of the SO(4.2) group, the nonlinear time inhomogeneity one-parameter conformal transformations are constructed. The connection between the group parameter and the Hubble constant H0 is established. It is shown that the existence of an anomalous blue-shifted frequency drift is a pure kinematic manifestation of the time inhomogeneity induced by the Universe expansion. This conclusion is confirmed via a generalization of the standard Special Relativity clock synchronization procedure to the space expanding case. The obtained formulae are i…
The Hubble law is extended to massive particles based on the de Broglie wavelength. Due to the expansion of the universe the wavelength of an unbound particle would increase according to its cosmological redshift. Based on the navigation anomalies of the Pioneer 10 & 11 spacecraft it is postulated that an unbound massive particle has a cosmological redshift z = (c / v_0) H_0 t, where c is the speed of light in vacuum, v_0 is the initial velocity of the particle, H_0 is Hubble's constant and t is the duration of time that the particle has been unbound. The increase in wavelength of the particle…
The effect of the expanding universe on planetary motion is considered to first order in the Hubble constant H. Orbital elements are shown to be unaffected, but there is a small change in the connection between planetary proper time and coordinate time. This can produce an apparent anomalous acceleration in velocities inferred from echo-ranging, but the effect is too small by many orders of magnitude to account for the Pioneer 10/11 anomaly.
In view of late-time cosmic acceleration, a dark energy cosmological model is revisited wherein Einstein's cosmological constant is considered as a candidate of dark energy. Exact solution of Einstein field equations (EFEs) is derived in a homogeneous isotropic background in classical general relativity. The solution procedure is adopted, in a model independent way (or the cosmological parametrization). A simple parametrization of the Hubble parameter (H) as a function of cosmic time `t' is considered which produces an exponential type of evolution of the scale factor (a) and also shows a nega…
In this manuscript, it is shown that the Pioneer anomaly is the local evidence for an expanding universe. In other words, its value is a direct measure of the Hubble constant while its sign shows the expanding behavior of the dynamics of the universe. This analysis is obtained by studying the radial geodesic deviation of the light rays in the perturbed Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric in the Newtonian gauge.
We generalize the Padmanabhan [arXiv:hep-th/1206.4916] mechanism to an accelerating BIon and show that the difference between the number of degrees of freedom on the boundary surface and the number of degrees of freedom in a bulk region causes the accelerated expansion of a BIon. We also consider the evolution of a universe which emerges on this BIon, and obtain its Hubble parameter and energy density.
We explore the possibility that the observed onset of the Pioneer anomaly after Saturn encounter by Pioneer 11 is not necessarily due to mismodeling of solar radiation pressure but instead reflects a physically relevant characteristic of the anomaly itself. We employ the principles of a recently proposed cosmological model termed "the theory of inertial centers" along with an understanding of the fundamental assumptions taken by the Deep Space Network (DSN) to attempt to model this sudden onset. Due to an ambiguity that arises from the difference in the DSN definition of expected light-time wi…
Isotropic cosmology built in the Riemann-Cartan spacetime is investigated. Properties of homogeneous isotropic cosmological models filled with usual gravitating matter and scalar fields are studied in the beginning of cosmological expansion near the limiting energy density. It is shown that cosmological models are regular not only with respect to the Hubble parameter and the energy density but also with respect to the torsion and curvature tensors.
A new model of accelerating expansion of the universe is presented. A de Sitter solution in vacuum and a exact solution with the dust mater source are obtained. A new explanation of the acceleration of the cosmic expansion is given. In is proved that the changing of the expansion from decelerating to accelerating is an intrinsic property of the universe without need of dark energy.
The situation with respect to the experiments is presented of a recently proposed model that gives an explanation of the Pioneer anomalous acceleration $a_{\rm P}$. The model is based on an idea already discovered by Einstein in 1907: the light speed depends on the gravitational potential $Φ$, so that it is larger the higher if $Φ$. The potential due to all the mass and energy in the universe increases in time because of its expansion, which has the consequence that light must be slowly accelerating. Moreover it turns out that the observational effects of a universal adiabatic acceleration of …
According to the socalled "quasi-metric" framework developed elsewhere, the cosmic expansion applies directly to gravitationally bound systems. This prediction has a number of observable consequences, none of which are in conflict with observation. In this paper we compare test particle motion in the nonstatic gravitational field outside a spherically symmetric source (as predicted by a quasi-metric theory of gravity) to test particle motion in the Schwarzschild geometry. It is found that if one incorrectly uses the Schwarzschild geometry (to the relevant accuracy) to represent the nonstatic q…
There is a longstanding mystery connected with the radiotracking of distant interplanetary spaceprobes like ULYSSES, Galileo and especially the two NASA probes PIONEER 10 and 11. Comparing radiosignals outgoing from the earth to the probe and ingoing again from the probes do show anomalous frequency shifts which up to now have been explained as caused by anomalous non-Newtonian decelerations of these probes recognizable at solar distances beyond 5 AU. In this paper we study cosmological conditions for the transfer of radiosignals between the Earth and these distant probes. Applying general rel…
Exact solutions are studied in the context of modified Brans-Dicke theory. The non-linearity of the modified Brans-Dicke field equations is treated with the Euler-Duarte-Moreira method of integrability of anharmonic oscillator equation. While some solutions show a forever accelerating nature, in some cases there is a signature flip in the evolution of deceleration parameter in recent past. Importance of these latter models are studied in the context of late-time acceleration of the universe. Constraints on the model parameters are obtained from Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) analysis using th…
I show that a cumulative contraction or expansion must result from repetitive tidal action in a curved stress field, depending on the direction of the curvature. The resulting expansion of solid materials onboard deep space probes and the corresponding contraction on earth would be of the right magnitude to account for all aspects of the Pioneer anomaly, leading to the two component model previously proposed. Importantly, I show via signal path analysis that the anomaly mathematically implies planetary Hubble flow, and that it is predicted by the standard model equations when the cosmological …
We review the fundamental results of a new cosmological model, based on conformal gravity, and apply them to the analysis of the early data of the Pioneer anomaly. We show that our conformal cosmology can naturally explain the anomalous acceleration of the Pioneer 10 and 11 spacecraft, in terms of a local blueshift region extending around the solar system and therefore affecting the frequencies of the navigational radio signals exchanged between Earth and the spacecraft. On the contrary, conformal gravity corrections alone would not be able to account for dynamical effects of such magnitude to…
We propose a Finsler spacetime scenario of the anisotropic universe. The Finslerian universe requires both the fine-structure constant and accelerating cosmic expansion have dipole structure, and the directions of these two dipoles are the same. Our numerical results show that the dipole direction of SnIa Hubble diagram locates at $(l,b)=(314.6^\circ\pm20.3^\circ,-11.5^\circ\pm12.1^\circ)$ with magnitude $B=(-3.60\pm1.66)\times10^{-2}$. And the dipole direction of the fine-structure constant locates at $(l,b)=(333.2^\circ\pm8.8^\circ,-12.7^\circ\pm6.3^\circ)$ with magnitude $B=(0.97\pm0.21)\ti…
A higher value of Hubble constant has been obtained from measurements with nearby Type Ia supernovae, than that obtained at much higher redshift. With the peculiar motions of their hosts, we find that the matter content at such low redshift is only about 10% of that at much higher redshifts; such a low matter density cannot be produced from density perturbations in the background of the ΛCDM expansion. Recently the Planck team has reported a lower Hubble constant and a higher matter content. We find that the dark energy density increases with cosmic time, so that its equation-of-state paramete…
The paper deals with a spatially homogeneous and isotropic FRW space-time filled with perfect fluid and dark energy components. The two sources are assumed to interact minimally, and therefore their energy momentum tensors are conserved separately. A special law of variation for the Hubble parameter proposed by Berman (1983) has been utilized to solve the field equations. The Berman's law yields two explicit forms of the scale factor governing the FRW space-time and constant values of deceleration parameter. The role of dark energy with variable equation of state parameter has been studied in …
It is shown that the same phenomenological Newtonian model recently proposed by the author to explain the cosmological evolution of the fine structure constant suggests furthermore an explanation of the unmodelled acceleration $a_P\simeq 8.5\times 10^{-10}m/s^2$ of the Pioneer 10/11 spaceships reported by Anderson {\em et al} in 1998. In the view presented here, it is argued that the permittivity and permeability of empty space are decreasing adiabatically, and the light is accelerating therefore, as a consequence of the progressive attenuation of the quantum vacuum due to the combined effect …
We have assumed that in a physical universe a blackhole is created some where. We conjecture that this blackhole will then separate itself from the physical universe and will build up an extra dimensional entity associated with the physical universe. The extra dimensional entity we suppose to be orthogonal to the physical universe. We further conjecture that this blackhole is a Schwartzschild blackhole. We assume that this physical universe and the blackhole span a seven dimensional space with a common time coordinate. We then generate the Einstein equation. Using the time-blackhole and the ti…
The velocity of the Hubble expansion has been added to General Relativity by Moshe Carmeli and this resulted in new equations of motion for the expanding universe. For the first time the observational magnitude-redshift data derived from the high-$z$ supernova teams has been analysed in the framework of the Carmeli theory and the fit to that theory is achieved without the inclusion of any dark matter. Best fits to the data yield an averaged matter density for the universe at the present epoch $Ω_{m} \approx 0.021$, which falls well within the measured values of the baryonic matter density. And…
In this article, we investigate the modified symmetric teleparallel gravity or $f(Q)$ gravity, where $Q$ is the non-metricity, to study the evolutionary history of the universe by considering the functional form of $f(Q)=αQ^n$, where $α$ and $n$ are constants. Here, we consider the parametrization form of the deceleration parameter as $q=q_0+\frac{q_1\,z}{(1+z)^2}$ which provides the desired property for sign flip from a decelerating to an accelerating phase. We get the solution of the Hubble parameter by examining the mentioned parametric form of $q$, and then we impose the solution in Friedm…
It has been demonstrated that a modern stage of the Universe expansion may be described in accordance with the observations within the scope of the space-time conformal geometry. The clock synchronization procedure in SR has been generalized to the case of the expanding space. It has been found that a universal local manifestation of the cosmological expansion is a background acceleration, the value of which is determined by Hubble constant. The formulae defining an explicit red-shift dependence of the cosmological distance and expressions for Hubble law have been obtained in a pure kinematic …
In a recent Letter [Phys. Rev. Lett. 114 091301 (2105)] the cause of the acceleration of the present Universe has been identified with the shear viscosity of an imperfect relativistic fluid even in the absence of any bulk viscous contribution. The gist of this comment is that the shear viscosity, if anything, can only lead to an accelerated expansion over sufficiently small scales well inside the Hubble radius.
Plane symmetric cosmological models are investigated with or without any dark energy components in the field equations. Keeping an eye on the recent observational constraints concerning the accelerating phase of expansion of the universe, the role of magnetic field is assessed. In the absence of dark energy components, magnetic field can favour an accelerating model even if we take a linear relationship between the directional Hubble parameters. In presence of dark energy components in the form of a time varying cosmological constant, the influence of magnetic field is found to be limited.
A recent cosmological model is recapitulated which deduces the correct mass, radius and age of the universe as also the Hubble constant and other well known apparently coincidental relations. It also predicts an ever expanding accelerating universe as is confirmed by latest supernovae observations. Finally the Big Bang model is recovered as a suitable limiting case.
In this paper, we have investigated a bulk viscous anisotropic Universe and constrained its model parameters with recent $H(z)$ and Pantheon compilation data. Using cosmic chronometric technique, we estimate the present value of Hubble's constant as $H_{0} = 69.39 \pm 1.54~km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$, $70.016 \pm 1.65~km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$ and $69.36 \pm 1.42~km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$ by bounding our derived model with recent $H(z)$ data, Pantheon and joint $H(z)$ and Pantheon data respectively. The present age of the Universe is specified as $t_0= 0.9796H_0^{-1}\sim 13.79$ Gyrs. The model favours a transitionin…
The unexplained sunward acceleration $a_\mathrm{P}$ of the Pioneer 10 (P10) and the Pioneer 11 (P11) spacecraft remains a mystery. A scalar potential model (SPM) that derived from considerations of galaxy clusters, of redshift, and of H{\scriptsize{I}} rotation curves of spiral galaxies is applied to the Pioneer Anomaly. Matter is posited to warp the scalar potential $ρ$ field. The changing $ρ$ field along the light path causes the Pioneer Anomaly. The SPM is consistent with the general value of $a_\mathrm{P}$; with the annual periodicity; with the differing $a_\mathrm{P}$ between the spacecra…
In a recent paper (Phys. Rev. D95, 103504 (2017)) it is argued that, due to the fluctuations around its mean value, vacuum energy gravitates differently from what previously assumed. As a consequence, the universe would accelerate with a small Hubble expansion rate, solving the cosmological constant and dark energy problems. We point out here that the results depend on the type of cutoff used to evaluate the vacuum energy. In particular, they are not valid when one uses a covariant cutoff such that the zero point energy density is positive definite.
It is shown that any spatially flat and isotropic universe undergoing accelerated expansion driven by a self-interacting scalar field can be directly related to a contracting, decelerating cosmology. The duality is made manifest by expressing the scale factor and Hubble parameter as functions of the scalar field and simultaneously interchanging these two quantities. The decelerating universe can be twinned with a cosmology sourced by a phantom scalar field by inverting the scale factor and leaving the Hubble parameter invariant. The accelerating model can be related to the same phantom univers…
In this paper, we have proposed a model of accelerating Universe with binary mixture of bulk viscous fluid and dark energy. and probed the model parameters: present values of Hubble's constant $H_{0}$, Equation of state paper of dark energy $ω_{de}$ and density parameter of dark energy $(Ω_{de})_{0}$ with recent OHD as well as joint Pantheon compilation of SN Ia data and OHD. Using cosmic chronometric technique, we obtain $H_{0} = 69.80 \pm 1.64~km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$ and $70.0258 \pm 1.72~km~s^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$ by restricting our derived model with recent OHD and joint Pantheon compilation SN Ia data…
The present cosmic accelerating stage is discussed through a new kinematic method based on the Sunyaev- Zel'dovich effect (SZE) and X-ray surface brightness data from galaxy clusters. By using the SZE/X-ray data from 38 galaxy clusters in the redshift range $0.14 \leq z \leq 0.89 $ [Bonamente et al., Astrop. J. {\bf 647}, 25 (2006)] it is found that the present Universe is accelerating and that the transition from an earlier decelerating to a late time accelerating regime is relatively recent. The ability of the ongoing Planck satellite mission to obtain tighter constraints on the expansion hi…
We point out that $Λ$CDM cosmology has an ignored assumption. That is, the $Λ$ component of the universe moves synchronously with ordinary matters on Hubble scales. If cosmological constant is vacuum energy, this assumption may be very difficult to be understood. We then propose a new mechanism which can explain the accelerating recession of super-novaes. That is, considering the pressures originating from the random moving (including Hubble recession) of galaxy clusters and galaxies. We provide an new analytical solution of Einstein equation which may describe a universe whose pressures origi…
In this paper, a general FRW cosmological model has been constructed in $f(R,T)$ gravity reconstruction with variable cosmological constant. A number of solutions to the field equations has been generated by utilizing a form for the Hubble parameter that leads to Berman's law of constant deceleration parameter $q=m-1$. The possible decelerating and accelerating solutions have been investigated. For ($q>0$) we get a stable flat decelerating radiation-dominated universe at $q=1$. For ($q<0$) we get a stable accelerating solution describing a flat universe with positive energy density and negativ…
We consider stochastic inflation in an interacting scalar field in spatially homogeneous accelerating space-times with a constant principal slow roll parameter $ε$. We show that, if the scalar potential is scale invariant (which is the case when scalar contains quartic self-interaction and couples non-minimally to gravity), the late-time solution on accelerating FLRW spaces can be described by a probability distribution function (PDF) $ρ$ which is a function of $φ/H$ only, where $φ=φ(\vec x)$ is the scalar field and $H=H(t)$ denotes the Hubble parameter. We give explicit late-time solutions fo…
We proposed the generalized holographic dark energy model where infrared cutoff is identified with the combination of the FRW universe parameters: the Hubble rate, particle and future horizons, cosmological constant, the universe life-time (if finite) and their derivatives. It is demonstrated that with the corresponding choice of the cutoff one can map such holographic dark energy to modified gravity or gravity with general fluid. Explicitly, F(R) gravity and general perfect fluid are worked out in detail and corresponding infrared cutoff is found. Using this correspondence, we get realistic i…
In the late 1990's, observations of 93 Type Ia supernovae were analysed in the framework of the FLRW cosmology assuming these to be `standard(isable) candles'. It was thus inferred that the Hubble expansion rate is accelerating as if driven by a positive Cosmological Constant $Λ$. This is still the only direct evidence for the `dark energy' that is the dominant component of the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological model. Other data such as BAO, CMB anisotropies, stellar ages, the rate of structure growth, etc are all `concordant' with this model but do not provide independent evidence for accelerated …
We show that any accelerating Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) cosmology with equation of state w < -1/3 (and therefore not only a de Sitter stage with w =-1) exhibits three-dimensional conformal symmetry on future constant-time hypersurfaces. We also offer an alternative derivation of this result in terms of conformal Killing vectors and show that long wavelength comoving curvature perturbations of the perturbed FRW metric are just conformal Killing motions of the FRW background. We then extend theb boundary conformal symmetry to the bulk for accelerating cosmologies. Our findings indicate th…
We consider scalar-tensor theories of gravity in an accelerating universe. The equations for the background evolution and the perturbations are given in full generality for any parametrization of the Lagrangian, and we stress that apparent singularities are sometimes artifacts of a pathological choice of variables. Adopting a phenomenological viewpoint, i.e., from the observations back to the theory, we show that the knowledge of the luminosity distance as a function of redshift up to z ~ (1-2), which is expected in the near future, severely constrains the viable subclasses of scalar-tensor th…
The paper deals with a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic universe filled with perfect fluid and dark energy components. The two sources are assumed to interact minimally together with a special law of variation for the average Hubble's parameter in order to solve the Einstein's field equations. The law yields two explicit forms of the scale factor governing the Bianchi-V space-time and constant values of deceleration parameter. The role of dark energy with variable equation of state parameter has been studied in detail in the evolution of Bianchi-V universe. It has been found that dark ene…
We study cosmological models with anisotropy in expansion rates in the context of the recent observations predicting an accelerating universe. In the absence of any anisotropy in the cosmic fluid, it is shown that the role of skewness in directional Hubble rates is crucial in deciding the behavior of the model. We find that incorporation of skewness leads to a more evolving effective equation of state parameter.
We study a $(4+D)$-dimensional Kaluza-Klein cosmology with a Robertson-Walker type metric having two scale factors $a$ and $R$, corresponding to $D$-dimensional internal space and 4-dimensional universe, respectively. By introducing an exotic matter in the form of perfect fluid with an special equation of state, as the space-time part of the higher dimensional energy-momentum tensor, a four dimensional effective decaying cosmological term appears as $λ\sim R^{-m}$ with $0 \leq m\leq 2$, playing the role of an evolving dark energy in the universe. By taking $m=2$, which has some interesting imp…
Possibly the most peculiar expectation of the standard fine-tuned cosmological paradigm is that cosmic acceleration is to only be a very recent (z<1) phenomenon, with the universe being required to be decelerating at all higher redshifts. Detailed exploration of the Hubble plot out to z=2 or so will not only provide an absolute test of this expectation but will also allow for testing of conformal gravity, a non fine-tuned alternate cosmological theory which provides equally good fitting to the current z<1 Hubble plot data while requiring the universe to be accelerating at higher z instead. Wit…
The article addresses a possibility of obtaining cosmologically relevant effects from the quantum nature of the Hubble horizon. Following the observation made by E.~Bianchi and C.~Rovelli in Phys.\ Rev.\ D {\bf 84} (2011) 027502 we explore relationship between the Planck scale discreteness of the Hubble horizon and deformations of the symmetry of rotations. We show that the so-called $q$-deformations in a natural way lead to a mechanism of condensation in the very early Universe. We argue that this provides a possible resolution of the problem of initial homogeneity at the onset of inflation. …
We investigate the gravitational property of the quantum vacuum by treating its large energy density predicted by quantum field theory seriously and assuming that it does gravitate to obey the equivalence principle of general relativity. We find that the quantum vacuum would gravitate differently from what people previously thought. The consequence of this difference is an accelerating universe with a small Hubble expansion rate $H\propto Λe^{-β\sqrt{G}Λ}\to 0$ instead of the previous prediction $H=\sqrt{8πGρ^{vac}/3}\propto\sqrt{G}Λ^2\to\infty$ which was unbounded, as the high energy cutoff $…
It is shown that isotropic cosmology in the Riemann-Cartan spacetime allows to solve the problem of cosmological singularity as well as the problems of invisible matter components - dark energy and dark matter. All cosmological models filled with usual gravitating matter satisfying energy dominance conditions are regular with respect to energy density, spacetime metrics and the Hubble parameter. At asymptotics cosmological solutions of spatially flat models describe accelerating Universe without dark energy and dark matter, and quantitatively their behaviour is identical to that of standard co…
We study a $(4+D)$-dimensional Kaluza-Klein cosmology with a Robertson-Walker type metric having two scale factors $a$ and $R$, corresponding to $D$-dimensional internal space and 4-dimensional universe, respectively. By introducing an exotic matter as the space-time part of the higher dimensional energy-momentum tensor, a 4-dimensional decaying cosmological term is appeared as $Λ\sim R^{-2}$, playing the role of an evolving dark energy in the universe. The resulting field equations yield the exponential solutions for the scale factors. These exponential behaviors may account for the dynamical…
We propose the unified description of the early acceleration (cosmological inflation) and the present epoch of so called "dark energy". The inflation can be described by cosmic fluid with van der Waals equation of state and with viscosity term. Viscosity leads to slow-roll inflation with the parameters such as the spectral index, and the tensor-to-scalar ratio in concordance with observational data. Our next step is to modify this equation of state (EoS) to describe the present accelerated expansion. One can add the term into EoS so that the contribution of which is small for inflation but cru…
