We provide explicit schemes for quantum information splitting (QIS) of real or equatorial two qubit states among two parties, through the five particle cluster and Brown states respectively. The schemes introduced are neither fully deterministic nor completely probabilistic and are carried out in the case where, the information that is to be shared is partially or fully known to the sender. We show that, QIS can be accomplished with just two classical bits, as against four classical bits, when the information is unknown to the sender.
We present an implementation of photonic qubit precertification that performs the delicate task of detecting the presence of a flying photon without destroying its qubit state, allowing loss-sensitive quantum cryptography and tests of nonlocality even over long distance. By splitting an incoming single photon in two via parametric down-conversion, we herald the photon's arrival from an independent photon source while preserving its quantum information with up to $92.3\pm0.6$ % fidelity. With reduced detector dark counts, precertification will be immediately useful in quantum communication.
Considering the intrinsic nonlinearity in a nanomechanical resonator coupled to a charge qubit, vacuum Rabi splitting effect is studied in a nanomechanical QED (qubit-resonator) system. A driven nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model describes the dynamics of this qubit-resonator system. Using quantum regression theorem and master equation approach, we have calculated the two-time correlation spectrum analytically. In the weak driving limit, these analytical results clarify the influence of the driving strength and nonlinearity parameter on the correlation spectrum. Also, numerical calculations confi…
We study the quantum controlled and probabilistic teleportation protocol via a four-cluster state (Front. Phys. (2017) 12: 120306). The protocol cannot achieve the goal that if the teleportation fails, it can be repeated without copies of the teleported state. And the reason is that all the information of the teleported state shifts to the receiver's particle after Bell measurement and the information cannot shift back to the sender without other entangled states. To realize the claimed goal, a new quantum controlled and probabilistic teleportation protocol using the same four-cluster state is…
The spin-vortex-induced loop current (SVILC) is a nano-sized loop current predicted to exist in the CuO$_2$ plane in the bulk of hole-doped cuprate superconductors. It is a persistent loop current protected by the topological winding number associated with the wave function. It exists around a spin-vortex created by the itinerant electrons with a doped hole at its center. The direction of each SVILC can be either clockwise (winding number is -1) or counterclockwise (winding number is +1) and the winding number with no current (winding number is zero) is forbidden by the singlevalued requiremen…
An anomalous energy splitting of spin triplet states at zero magnetic field has recently been measured in germanium quantum dots. This zero-field splitting could crucially alter the coupling between tunnel-coupled quantum dots, the basic building blocks of state-of-the-art spin-based quantum processors, with profound implications for semiconducting quantum computers. We develop an analytical model linking the zero-field splitting to spin-orbit interactions that are cubic in momentum. Such interactions naturally emerge in hole nanostructures, where they can also be tuned by external electric fi…
We generalize the control power of a perfect controlled teleportation of an entangled three-qubit pure state, suggested by Li and Ghose [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 90}, 052305 (2014)], to the control power of a general controlled teleportation of a multiqubit pure state. Thus, we define the minimal control power, and calculate the values of the minimal control power for a class of general three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states and the three-qubit W class whose states have zero three-tangles. Moreover, we show that the standard three-qubit GHZ state and the standard three-qubit W state hav…
The determination of the density matrix of an ensemble of identically prepared quantum systems by performing a series of measurements, known as quantum tomography, is minimal when the number of outcomes is minimal. The most accurate minimal quantum tomography of qubits, sometimes called a tetrahedron measurement, corresponds to projections over four states which can be represented on the Bloch sphere as the vertices of a regular tetrahedron. We investigate whether it is possible to implement the tetrahedron measurement of double slit qubits of light, using measurements performed on a single pl…
We demonstrate the local control of up to eight two-level systems interacting strongly with a microwave cavity. Following calibration, the frequency of each individual two-level system (qubit) is tunable without influencing the others. Bringing the qubits one by one on resonance with the cavity, we observe the collective coupling strength of the qubit ensemble. The splitting scales up with the square root of the number of the qubits, which is the hallmark of the Tavis-Cummings model. The local control circuitry causes a bypass shunting the resonator, and a Fano interference in the microwave re…
Qubit-photon interactions in a cavity: Measurement induced dephasing and number splitting
我们从理论上研究了电路QED结构中超导量子比特的测量诱导退相,并将结果与Schuster { \it et al.}的实验结果进行了比较,[Phys. Rev. Lett. 94,123602(2005)]。

We prove that all states (mixed or pure) of qubit-qutrit ($2\times 3$) systems have entanglement-preserving unitary (EPU) equivalence to a compact subset of true-generalized X (TGX) states called EPU-minimal TGX states which we give explicitly. Thus, for any spectrum-entanglement combination achievable by general states, there exists an EPU-minimal TGX state of the same spectrum and entanglement. We use I-concurrence to measure entanglement and give an explicit formula for it for all $2\times 3$ minimal TGX states (a more general set than EPU-minimal TGX states) whether mixed or pure, yielding…
The number of outcomes is a defining property of a quantum measurement, in particular, if the measurement cannot be decomposed into simpler measurements with fewer outcomes. Importantly, the number of outcomes of a quantum measurement can be irreducibly higher than the dimension of the system. The certification of this property is possible in a semi-device-independent way either based on a Bell-like scenario or by utilizing the simpler prepare-and-measure scenario. Here we show that in the latter scenario the minimal scheme for a certifying an irreducible three-outcome qubit measurement requir…
We determine how to optimally reset a superconducting qubit which interacts with a thermal environment in such a way that the coupling strength is tunable. Describing the system in terms of a time-local master equation with time-dependent decay rates and using quantum optimal control theory, we identify temporal shapes of tunable level splittings which maximize the efficiency of the reset protocol in terms of duration and error. Time-dependent level splittings imply a modification of the system-environment coupling, varying the decay rates as well as the Lindblad operators. Our approach thus d…
In measurement-based quantum computation (MBQC), a special highly-entangled state (called a resource state) allows for universal quantum computation driven by single-qubit measurements and post-measurement corrections. Physical realisations of this model have been achieved in various physical systems for low numbers of qubits. The large number of qubits necessary to construct the resource state constitutes one of the main down sides to MBQC. However, in some instances it is possible to extend the resource state on the fly, meaning that not every qubit must be realised in the devices simultaneo…
Large-scale arrays of quantum-dot spin qubits in Si/SiGe quantum wells require large or tunable energy splittings of the valley states associated with degenerate conduction band minima. Existing proposals to deterministically enhance the valley splitting rely on sharp interfaces or modifications in the quantum well barriers that can be difficult to grow. Here, we propose and demonstrate a new heterostructure, the "Wiggle Well," whose key feature is Ge concentration oscillations inside the quantum well. Experimentally, we show that placing Ge in the quantum well does not significantly impact ou…
Geometric quantum computation offers a practical strategy toward robust quantum computation due to its inherently error tolerance. However, the rigorous geometric conditions lead to complex and/or error-disturbed quantum controls, especially for logical qubits that involve more physical qubits, whose error tolerance is effective in principle though, their experimental demonstration is still demanding. Thus, how to best simplify the needed control and manifest its full advantage has become the key to widespread applications of geometric quantum computation. Here we propose a new fast and robust…
The presence of valley states is a significant obstacle to realizing quantum information technologies in Silicon quantum dots, as leakage into alternate valley states can introduce errors into the computation. We use a perturbative analytical approach to study the dynamics of exchange-coupled quantum dots with valley degrees of freedom. We show that if the valley splitting is large and electrons are not properly initialized to valley eigenstates, then time evolution of the system will lead to spin-valley entanglement. Spin-valley entanglement will also occur if the valley splitting is small an…
