We investigated the effects of bulk scalar field in the braneworld cosmological scenario. The Friedmann equations and acceleration condition in presence of the bulk scalar field for a zero tension brane and cosmological constant are studied. In DGP model the effective Einstein equation on the brane is obtained with bulk scalar field. The rescaled bulk scalar field on the brane in the DGP model behaves as an effective four dimensional field, thus standard type cosmology is recovered. In present study of the DGP model, the late-time accelerating phase of the universe can be explained .
In this article we study cosmic dynamics in the context of normal branch of DGP braneworld model. Using the current Planck data, we best fit the model and cosmological parameters in non-flat $Λ$DGP. With the transition redshift as a basic variable and statefinder parameters, our result shows that the Universe starts its accelerated expansion phase, slightly earlier than expected in $Λ$CDM cosmology. The result also alleviates the coincidence problem of the $Λ$CDM model.
We study Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati braneworlds with finite thickness. In respect to standard (thin) DGP Friedmann equation, finite thickness of the brane causes a subtle modification of the cosmological equations that can lead to significant physical consequences. We study a charged Taub-NUT spacetime solution in the DGP brane. We show that the Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT-de Sitter solution of Einstein-Maxwell gravity solves the corresponding equations of motion, where the cosmological constant is related to the cross-over scale in the DGP model. Following the approach by Teitelboim in discussing the thermodynamics of de Sitter spacetime and the proposal by Wu et al. for a conserved charge associated to the NUT parameter, we obtained the generalized Smarr mass formula and the first law of thermodynamics of the spacetime.

The stability of an Einstein static universe in the DGP braneworld scenario is studied in this paper. Two separate branches denoted by $ε=\pm1$ of the DGP model are analyzed. Assuming the existence of a perfect fluid with a constant equation of state, $w$, in the universe, we find that, for the branch with $ε=1$, there is no a stable Einstein static solution, while, for the case with $ε=-1$, the Einstein static universe exists and it is stable when $-1<w<-1/3$. We study cosmological dynamics of a canonical bulk scalar field in the DGP setup within a superpotential approach. We show that the normal branch of this DGP-inspired model realizes a late-time de Sitter expansion on the brane. We extend this study to the case that the bulk contains a phantom scalar field. Our detailed study in the supergravity-style analysis reveals some yet unexplored aspects of cosmological dynamics of bulk scalar field in the normal DGP setup. Some clarifying examples along with numerical analysis of the model parameter space are presented in each case.

We study the static, analytical solution of black holes in the warped DGP braneworld scenario. We show that the linearized field equations and matching conditions lead to solutions that are not compatible with Schwarzschild-(A)dS$_{(4)}$ solutions on the brane. We discuss the correspondence between the DGP brane cosmology and 5D Ricci-flat cosmology by letting their metrics equal each other. By this correspondence, a specific geometrical property of the arbitrary integral constant I in DGP metric is given and it is related to the curvature of 5D bulk. At the same time, the relation of arbitrary functions $μ$ and $ν$ in a class of Ricci-flat solutions is obtained from DGP brane metric.
We study cosmological implications of a Lorentz invariance violating DGP-inspired braneworld scenario. A minimally coupled scalar field and a single, fixed-norm, Lorentz-violating timelike vector field within an interactive picture provide a wide parameter space which accounts for late-time acceleration and transition to phantom phase of the scalar field.
We consider the imbalance of matter and antimatter by using a gravitational baryogenesis mechanism in the background of Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) brane cosmology. By taking into account a flat Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) metric in the DGP brane model, we find that for a radiation dominated universe, $w = 1/3$, the ratio of baryon number density to entropy from the gravitational baryogenesis is not zero, contrary to ordinary general relativity. Also, we study the ratio of baryon number density to entropy against the observational constraints in DGP cosmology.
We study quasi-static perturbations in a cosmological background in the Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) braneworld model. We identify the Vainshtein radius at which the non-linear interactions of the brane bending mode become important in a cosmological background. The Vainshtein radius in the early universe is much smaller than the one in the Minkowski background, but in a self-accelerating universe it is the same as the Minkowski background. In this article we study an intermediate inflationary model in the context of Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) cosmology caused by a tachyon scalar field. We perform a Markov Chain Monte Carlo analysis of the self-accelerating and normal branch of Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati braneworld gravity. New vacuum de Sitter points existing on Randall-Sundrum brane are described. We show also that quantum correction can destroy the DGP de Sitter solution on induced gravity brane.
We study possible crossing of the phantom divide line in a DGP-inspired $F(R,ϕ)$ braneworld scenario where scalar field and curvature quintessence are treated in a unified framework. With some specific form of $F(R,ϕ)$ and by adopting a suitable ansatz, we show that there are appropriate regions of the parameters space which account for late-time acceleration and admit crossing of the phantom divide line.
The varying speed of light (VSL) has been used in cosmological models in which the physical constants vary over time. On the other hand, the Dvali, Gabadadze and Porrati (DGP) brane world model, especially its normal branch has been extensively discussed to justify the current cosmic acceleration. In this article we show that the normal branch of DGP in VSL cosmology leads to a self-accelerating behavior and therefore can interpret cosmic acceleration. Applying statefinder diagnostics demonstrate that our result slightly deviates ΛCDM model.

We consider the holographic dark energy (HDE) model in the framework of DGP braneworld with Granda-Oliveros infrared (IR) cutoff, $L=(α\dot{H}+βH^2)^{-1/2}$. With this choice for IR cutoff, we are able to derive evolution of the cosmological parameters such as the equation of state and the deceleration parameters, $w$ and $q$, as the functions of the redshift parameter $z$. We analyze a spacetime structure on a new brane configuration constructed recently in the Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati braneworld context. The brane, embedded on a five-dimensional bubble of nothing, has a wormhole structure. It is an exact solution without any matter fields, and thus the energy conditions for matter fields are trivially satisfied. We see that, under the traversability condition, the size of the bubble should be larger than 10^{10}cm or so.

In 2000, Giorgi Dvali, Gregory Gabadadze and Massimo Porrati (Dvali et al. 2000) was proposed a new braneworld model named as DGP model, having two branches with $(ε=+1)$ and $(ε=-1)$. Former one $(~ε=+1)$ known as the accelerating branch, i.e. accelerating phase of the universe can be explained without adding cosmological constant or Dark energy, whereas later one represents the decelerating branch. We consider a DGP brane scenario where a scalar field is present on the brane through the introduction of a scalar potential, itself motivated by the notion of modified gravity. This theory predicts that the mass appearing in the gravitational potential is modified by the addition of the mass of the scalar field. The cosmological implications that such a scenario entails are examined and shown to be consistent with a universe expanding with power-law acceleration.
