We consider the problem of bi-directional controlled quantum teleportation of information encoded in phase opposite coherent state among two distant partners Alice and Bob, with the consent of controller, Charlie. We use five-mode cluster-type entangled coherent state as the quantum resource to achieve this task. The scheme uses linear optical devices such as beam splitter, phase shifters, and photon counters. We have shown that for moderately large coherent amplitude, near-perfect bi-directional controlled teleportation can be obtained in terms of the average fidelity of teleportation.

An entanglement concentration scheme based on joint Bell-state measurements is worked out. We show how to implement several continuous-variable coherent protocols with linear optics. Noise can accumulate when implementing each coherent protocol with realistic optical devices. Our analysis bounds the level of noise accumulation. We extend the cobit channel to continuous variables by providing a definition of the coherent nat (conat) channel. We propose a new theory on a relation between diffusive and coherent nature in one dimensional wave mechanics based on a quantum walk. It is known that the quantum walk in homogeneous matrices provides the coherent property of wave mechanics. Using the recent result of a localization phenomenon in a one-dimensional quantum walk (Konno, Quantum Inf. Proc. In this paper, we investigate the long-standing gap of quantum key rate between the Weak Coherent Pulse (WCP) and Heralded Single Photon Sources(HSPS) implementation of quantum cryptographical protocol. We prove that, by utilizing the Heralded Pair Coherent State (HPCS) photon sources, such a gap can be actually filled in both BB84 and SARG quantum key distribution. Coherent beam combining refers to the process of generating a bright output beam by merging independent input beams with locked relative phases. We report the first quantum mechanical noise limit calculations for coherent beam combining and compare our results to quantum-limited amplification. Our coherent beam combining scheme is based on an optical Fourier transformation which renders the scheme compatible with integrated optics. The scheme can be layed out for an arbitrary number of input beams and approaches the shot noise limit for a large number of inputs.
