In this paper we prove that isoperiodic moduli spaces of meromorphic differentials with two simple poles on homologically marked smooth curves are non empty and connected, unless they correspond to double covers of $\mathbb{C}/\mathbb{Z}$ on curves of genus at least two. We deduce dynamical consequences for the corresponding isoperiodic foliation.
The main goal of this article is to compute the class of the divisor of $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_3$ obtained by taking the closure of the image of $Ω\mathcal{M}_3(6;-2)$ by the forgetful map. This is done using Porteous formula and the theory of test curves. For this purpose, we study the locus of meromorphic differentials of the second kind, computing the dimension of the map of these loci to $\mathcal{M}_g$ and solving some enumerative problems involving such differentials in low genus. A key tool of the proof is the compactification of strata recently introduced by Bainbridge-Chen-Gendron-Gr…
Holomorphic vector bundles on $\mathbb C\times M$, $M$ a complex manifold, with meromorphic connections with poles of Poincaré rank 1 along $\{0\}\times M$ arise naturally in algebraic geometry. They are called $(TE)$-structures here. This paper takes an abstract point of view. It gives a complete classification of all $(TE)$-structures of rank 2 over germs $\big(M,t^0\big)$ of manifolds. In the case of $M$ a point, they separate into four types. Those of three types have universal unfoldings, those of the fourth type (the logarithmic type) not. The classification of unfoldings of $(TE)$-struc…
The Bergman tau functions are applied to the study of the Picard group of moduli spaces of quadratic differentials with at most $n$ simple poles on genus $g$ complex algebraic curves. This generalizes our previous results on moduli spaces of holomorphic quadratic differentials.
We determine the image of the monodromy map for meromorphic projective structures with poles of orders greater than two. This proves the analogue of a theorem of Gallo-Kapovich-Marden, and answers a question of Allegretti and Bridgeland. Our proof uses coordinates on the moduli space of framed representations arising from the work of Fock and Goncharov.
We formulate and solve a pole placement problem by state feedback for overdetermined 2D systems modeled by commutative operator vessels. In this setting, the transfer function of the system is given by a meromorphic bundle map between two holomorphic vector bundles of finite rank over the normalization of a projective plane algebraic curve. The obstruction for a solution is given by an existence of a certain meromorphic bundle map on the input bundle. Reducing to the 1D case, this gives a functional obstruction which is equivalent to the classical pole placement theorem. Our result improves on…
We study projective structures on a surface having poles of prescribed orders. We obtain a monodromy map from a complex manifold parameterising such structures to the stack of framed $\mathrm{PGL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ local systems on the associated marked bordered surface. We prove that the image of this map is contained in the union of the domains of the cluster charts. We discuss a number of open questions concerning this monodromy map.
