This is the central article of a series of three papers on cross product bialgebras. We present a universal theory of bialgebra factorizations (or cross product bialgebras) with cocycles and dual cocycles. We also provide an equivalent (co-)modular co-cyclic formulation. All known examples as for instance bi- or smash, doublecross and bicross product bialgebras as well as double biproduct bialgebras and bicrossed or cocycle bicross product bialgebras are now united within a single theory. Furthermore our construction yields various novel types of cross product bialgebras.
In a previous paper we proved a result of the type "invariance under twisting" for Brzezinski's crossed products. In this paper we prove a converse of this result, obtaining thus a characterization of what we call equivalent crossed products. As an application, we characterize cross product bialgebras (in the sense of Bespalov and Drabant) that are equivalent (in a certain sense) to a given cross product bialgebra in which one of the factors is a bialgebra and whose coalgebra structure is a tensor product coalgebra.
The subject of this article are cross product bialgebras without co-cycles. We establish a theory characterizing cross product bialgebras universally in terms of projections and injections. Especially all known types of biproduct, double cross product and bicross product bialgebras can be described by this theory. Furthermore the theory provides new families of (co-cycle free) cross product bialgebras. Besides the universal characterization we find an equivalent (co-)modular description of certain types of cross product bialgebras in terms of so-called Hopf data. With the help of Hopf data con…
We introduce the new concept of braided Hom-Lie bialgebras which is a generalization of Sommerhäuser-Majid's braided Lie bialgebras and Yau's Hom-Lie bialgebras. Using this concept we give the unified product construction for Hom-Lie bialgebras which can be seen as a Hom-Lie version of Bespalov-Drabant's cocycle cross product bialgebras. Some special cases of unified products such as crossed product and matched pair of braided Hom-Lie bialgebras are investigated. As an application, we solve the Agore-Militaru extending problem for Hom-Lie bialgebras by using some non-abelian cohomology theory.…
We give the explicit construction of the product of an arbitrary family of coalgebras, bialgebras and Hopf algebras: it turns out that the product of an arbitrary family of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras) is the sum of a family of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras). The equalizers of two morphisms of coalgebras (resp. bialgebras, Hopf algebras) are also described explicitly. As a consequence the categories of coalgebras, bialgebras and Hopf algebras are shown to be complete and a explicit description for limits in the above categories is given.
A notion of vertex bialgebra and a notion of module nonlocal vertex algebra for a vertex bialgebra are studied and then a smash product construction of nonlocal vertex algebras is presented. For every nonlocal vertex algebra $V$ satisfying a suitable condition, a canonical bialgebra $B(V)$ is constructed such that primitive elements of $B(V)$ are essentially pseudo derivations and group-like elements are essentially pseudo endomorphisms. Furthermore, vertex algebras associated with Heisenberg Lie algebras as well as those associated with nondegenerate even lattices are reconstructed through sm…
A BiHom-associative algebra is a (nonassociative) algebra $A$ endowed with two commuting multiplicative linear maps $α,β\colon A\rightarrow A$ such that $α(a)(bc)=(ab)β(c)$, for all $a, b, c\in A$. This concept arose in the study of algebras in so-called group Hom-categories. In this paper, we introduce as well BiHom-Lie algebras (also by using the categorical approach) and BiHom-bialgebras. We discuss these new structures by presenting some basic properties and constructions (representations, twisted tensor products, smash products etc).
Given a weak distributive law between algebras underlying two weak bialgebras, we present sufficient conditions under which the corresponding weak wreath product algebra becomes a weak bialgebra with respect to the tensor product coalgebra structure. When the weak bialgebras are weak Hopf algebras, then the same conditions are shown to imply that the weak wreath product becomes a weak Hopf algebra, too. Our sufficient conditions are capable to describe most known examples, (in particular the Drinfel'd double of a weak Hopf algebra).
We show that, under some mild conditions, a bialgebra in an abelian and coabelian braided monoidal category has a weak projection onto a formally smooth (as a coalgebra) sub-bialgebra with antipode; see Theorem 1.12. In the second part of the paper we prove that bialgebras with weak projections are cross product bialgebras; see Theorem 2.12. In the particular case when the bialgebra $A$ is cocommutative and a certain cocycle associated to the weak projection is trivial we prove that $A$ is a double cross product, or biproduct in Madjid's terminology. The last result is based on a universal pro…
Central bialgebras in a braided category $\C$ are algebras in the center of the category of coalgebras in $\C$. On these bialgebras another product can be defined, which plays the role of the opposite product. Hence, coquasitriangular structures on central bialgebras can be defined. We prove some properties of the antipode on coquasitriangular central Hopf algebras and give a characterization of central bialgebras.
For a Lie algebra with Lie bracket got by taking commutators in a nonunital associative algebra L, let T(L) be the vector space of tensors over L equipped with the Ito Hopf algebra structure derived from the associative multiplication in L. We show a necessary and sufficient condition that the double product integral satisfy the quantum Yang-Baxter equation over T(L). We construct a quantisation of an arbitrary quasitriangular Lie bialgebra structure on L in the unital associative subalgebra of T(L)[[h]] consisting of formal power series whose zero order coefficient lies in the space S(L) of s…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra with bijective antipode over a field $k$ and suppose that $R{#}H$ is a bi-product. Then $R$ is a bialgebra in the Yetter--Drinfel'd category ${}_H^H{\mathcal YD}$. We describe the bialgebras $(R{#}H)^{op}$ and $(R{#}H)^o$ explicitly as bi-products $R^{\UOP}{#}H^{op}$ and $R^{\UO}{#}H^o$ respectively where $R^{\UOP}$ is a bialgebra in ${}^{H^{op}}_{H^{op}}{\mathcal YD}$ and $R^{\UO}$ is a bialgebra in ${}^{H^o}_{H^o}{\mathcal YD}$. We use our results to describe two-cocycle twist bialgebra structures on the tensor product of bi-products.
Let ${\cal A}_{0}(*)$ denote the direct sum of a certain set of UHF algebras and let ${\cal A}(*)\equiv {\bf C}\oplus {\cal A}_{0}(*)$. We introduce a non-cocommutative comultiplication $Δ_ϕ$ on ${\cal A}(*)$, and give an example of comodule-C$^{*}$-algebra of the C$^{*}$-bialgebra $({\cal A}(*),Δ_ϕ)$. With respect to $Δ_ϕ$, we define a non-symmetric tensor product of *-representations of UHF algebras and show tensor product formulas of GNS representations by product states.
We quantize the Poisson-Lie group SL(2,R)^* as a bialgebra using the product of Kontsevich. The coproduct is a deformation of the coproduct that comes from the group structure. The resulting bialgebra structure is isomorphic to the quantum universal enveloping algebra U_hsl(2,R).
We introduce the notion of a bicocycle double cross product (resp. sum) Lie group (resp. Lie algebra), and a bicocycle double cross product bialgebra, generalizing the unified products. On the level of Lie groups the construction yields a Lie group on the product space of two pointed manifolds, none of which being necessarily a subgroup. On the level of Lie algebras, similarly, a Lie algebra is obtained on the direct sum of two vector spaces, none of which is required to be a subalgebra. Finally, on the quantum level the theory presents a bialgebra, on the tensor product of two (co)algebras th…
Let ${\Bbb F}_{n}$ be the free group of rank $n$ and let $\bigoplus C^{*}({\Bbb F}_{n})$ denote the direct sum of full group C$^{*}$-algebras $C^{*}({\Bbb F}_{n})$ of ${\Bbb F}_{n}$ $(1\leq n<\infty$). We introduce a new comultiplication $Δ_φ$ on $\bigoplus C^{*}({\Bbb F}_{n})$ such that $(\bigoplus C^{*}({\Bbb F}_{n}),\,Δ_φ)$ is a non-cocommutative C$^{*}$-bialgebra. With respect to $Δ_φ$, the tensor product $π\otimes_φπ'$ of any two representations $π$ and $π'$ of free groups is defined. The operation $\ptimes$ is associative and non-commutative. We compute its tensor product formulas of sev…
In this paper we focus on a certain self-distributive multiplication on coalgebras, which leads to so-called rack bialgebra. We construct canon-ical rack bialgebras (some kind of enveloping algebras) for any Leibniz algebra. Our motivation is deformation quantization of Leibniz algebras in the sense of [6]. Namely, the canonical rack bialgebras we have constructed for any Leibniz algebra lead to a simple explicit formula of the rack-star-product on the dual of a Leibniz algebra recently constructed by Dherin and Wagemann in [6]. We clarify this framework setting up a general deformation theory…
An internal coproduct is described, which is compatible with Hoffman's quasi-shuffle product. Hoffman's quasi-shuffle Hopf algebra, with deconcatenation coproduct, is a comodule-Hopf algebra over the bialgebra thus defined. The relation with J. Ecalle's mould calculus, i.e. mould composition and contracting arborification, is precised.
We consider the factorisation problem for bialgebras: when a bialgebra $K$ factorises as $K=HL$, where $H$ and $L$ are algebras and coalgebras (but not necessarly bialgebras). Given two maps $R: H\ot L\to L\ot H$ and $W:L\ot H\to H\ot L$, we introduce a product $L_W\bowtie_R H$ and give necessary and sufficient conditions for $L_W\bowtie_R H$ to be a bialgebra. It turns out that $K$ factorises as $K=HL$ if and only if $K\cong L_W\bowtie_R H$ for some maps $R$ and $W$. As examples of this product we recover constructions introduced by Majid and Radford. Also, some of the pointed Hopf algebras t…
We consider Hopf bimodules and crossed modules over a Hopf algebra $H$ in a braided category. They are the key-stones for braided bicovariant differential calculi and their invariant vector fields respectively, as well as for the construction of braided Hopf algebra cross products. We show that the notions of Hopf bimodules and crossed modules are equivalent. A generalization of the Radford-Majid criterion to the braided case is given and it is seen that bialgebra cross products over the Hopf algebra $H$ are precisely described by $H$-crossed module bialgebras. We study the theory of (bicovari…
From a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ satisfying $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})=0$ and $Λ^2(\mathfrak{g})^\mathfrak{g}=0$ (in particular, for $\g$ semisimple) we describe explicitly all Lie bialgebra structures on extensions of the form $\mathfrak{L} =\mathfrak{g}\times \mathbb{K}$ in terms of Lie bialgebra structures on $\mathfrak{g}$ (not necessarily factorizable nor quasi-triangular) and its biderivations, for any field $\mathbb{K}$ with char $\mathbb{K}=0$. If moreover, $[\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{g}]=\mathfrak{g}$, then we describe also all Lie bialgebra structures on extensions $\mathfrak{L} =\math…
The cyclic (co)homology of Hopf algebras is defined by Connes and Moscovici [math.DG/9806109] and later extended by Khalkhali et.al [math.KT/0306288] to admit stable anti-Yetter-Drinfeld coefficient module/comodules. In this paper we will show that one can further extend the cyclic homology of Hopf algebras with coefficients non-trivially. The new homology, called the bialgebra cyclic homology, admits stable coefficient module/comodules, dropping the anti-Yetter-Drinfeld condition. This fact allows the new homology to use bialgebras, not just Hopf algebras. We will also give computations for b…
This is the second part of the article [math.KT/0408094]. In the first paper, we used the underlying coalgebra structure to develop a cyclic theory. In this paper we define a dual theory by using the algebra structure. We define a cyclic homology theory for triples $(X,B,Y)$ where $B$ is a bialgebra, $X$ is a $B$--comodule algebra and $Y$ is just a stable $B$--module/comodule. We recover the main result of [math.KT/0310088] that these homology theories are dual to each other in the appropriate sense when the bialgebra is a Hopf algebra and the stable coefficient module satisfies anti-Yetter-Dr…
We show that for dually paired bialgebras, every comodule algebra over one of the paired bialgebras gives a comodule algebra over their Drinfeld double via a crossed product construction. These constructions generalize to working with bialgebra objects in a braided monoidal category of modules over a quasitriangular Hopf algebra. Hence two ways to provide comodule algebras over the braided Drinfeld double (the double bosonization) are provided. Furthermore, a map of second Hopf algebra cohomology spaces is constructed. It takes a pair of 2-cocycles over dually paired Hopf algebras and produces…
This paper studies two types of 3-Lie bialgebras whose compatibility conditions between the multiplication and comultiplication are given by local cocycles and double constructions respectively, and are therefore called the local cocycle 3-Lie bialgebra and the double construction 3-Lie bialgebra. They can be regarded as suitable extensions of the well-known Lie bialgebra in the context of 3-Lie algebras, in two different directions. The local cocycle 3-Lie bialgebra is introduced to extend the connection between Lie bialgebras and the classical Yang-Baxter equation. Its relationship with a te…
