Convergence of freely decomposable Kleinian groups

We consider a compact orientable hyperbolic 3-manifold with a compressible boundary. Suppose that we are given a sequence of geometrically finite hyperbolic metrics whose conformal boundary structures at infinity diverge to a projective lamination. We prove that if this limit projective lamination is doubly incompressible, then the sequence has compact closure in the deformation space. As a consequence we generalise Thurston's double limit theorem and solve his conjecture on convergence of function groups affirmatively.

Constructing geometrically infinite groups on boundaries of deformation spaces

Consider a geometrically finite Kleinian group $G$ without parabolic or elliptic elements, with its Kleinian manifold $M=(\H^3\cup Ω_G)/G$. Suppose that for each boundary component of $M$, either a maximal and connected measured lamination in the Masur domain or a marked conformal structure is given. Examples of relative deformation spaces that are not locally connected

We provide an infinite family of pared manifolds whose relative deformation spaces of hyperbolic structures on these manifolds are not locally connected. This is a natural extension of the recent result of Bromberg that shows the space of Kleinian punctured torus groups is not locally connected.

Local topology in deformation spaces of hyperbolic 3-manifolds

We prove that the deformation space AH(M) of marked hyperbolic 3-manifolds homotopy equivalent to a fixed compact 3-manifold M with incompressible boundary is locally connected at minimally parabolic points. Moreover, spaces of Kleinian surface groups are locally connected at quasiconformally rigid points. Similar results are obtained for deformation spaces of acylindrical 3-manifolds and Bers slices.

Harmonic deformations of hyperbolic 3-manifolds

This paper gives an exposition of the authors' harmonic deformation theory for 3-dimensional hyperbolic cone-manifolds. The classification of punctured-torus groups

We consider the following question: Which parameters in the extension of a rational pleating ray across the boundary of $\Cal M$, the Maskit embedding of the Teichmüller space of once punctured tori correspond to a Kleinian group? Cannon-Thurston Maps

We give an overview of the theory of Cannon-Thurston maps which forms one of the links between the complex analytic and hyperbolic geometric study of Kleinian groups. We also briefly sketch connections to hyperbolic subgroups of hyperbolic groups and end with some open questions.

The shape of hyperbolic Dehn surgery space

In this paper we develop a new theory of infinitesimal harmonic deformations for compact hyperbolic 3-manifolds with ``tubular boundary''. In particular, this applies to complements of tubes of radius at least $R_0 = \arctanh(1/\sqrt{3}) \approx 0.65848$ around the singular set of hyperbolic cone manifolds, removing the previous restrictions on cone angles. On Hopf-induced deformation of topological locus

We provide a very brief review of the description of colored invariants for the Hopf link in terms of characters, which need to be taken at a peculiar deformation of the topological locus, depending on one of the two representations associated with the two components of the link. Most important, we extend the description of this locus to conjugate and, generically, to composite representations and also define the "adjoint" Schur functions emerging in the dual description.
