In this paper, we consider the most non-split parabolic D_4 type prehomogeneous vector space. The vector space is an analogue of the space of Hermitian forms. We determine the principal part of the zeta function.
Throughout this paper, k is a number field. We fix a quadratic extension k_1=k(a_0) of k, where a_0=sqrt(B_0) for a certain B_0 in k^\times/(k^\times)^2. In this paper, we consider the zeta function defined for the space of pairs of binary Hermitian forms. This is the prehomogeneous vector space we discussed in section 2 [1] and is a non-split form of the D_4 case in [4]. The purpose of this paper is to determine the principal part of the adjusted zeta function. Our main result is Theorem (8.15). Our case resembles the space of pairs of binary quadratic forms which we discussed in Chapter 5 [5…
Let $X$ be a real prehomogeneous vector space under a reductive group $G$, such that $X$ is an absolutely spherical $G$-variety with affine open orbit. We define local zeta integrals that involve the integration of Schwartz-Bruhat functions on $X$ against generalized matrix coefficients of admissible representations of $G(\mathbb{R})$, twisted by complex powers of relative invariants. We establish the convergence of these integrals in some range, the meromorphic continuation as well as a functional equation in terms of abstract $γ$-factors. This subsumes the Archimedean zeta integrals of Godem…
In this note, we give a formula for the Whittaker-Shintani functions for the p-adic symplectic groups, which is a generalization of the Zonal spherical functions and Whittaker functions. We then use the formula to give an alternative proof of a conjecture given by T.Shintani on the unramified calculation of L-function for $Sp_{2n}\times GL_{1}$.
This article is a companion to several works of the author and others on the arithmetic of automorphic forms for GSp(4), and their associated L-functions and Galois representations. These works require, at various points, an input from smooth representation theory over p-adic local fields: the computation of values of the unique trilinear form on an unramified representation of GSp(4) x GL(2) x GL(2) invariant under the diagonal GL(2) x GL(2), for various different input data. In this note, we carry out these local computations, using a general formula for Shintani functions due to Gejima.
We study the non-semisimple terms in the geometric side of the Arthur trace formula for the split symplectic similitude group or the split symplectic group of rank 2 over any algebraic number field. In particular, we show that the coefficients of unipotent orbital integrals are expressed by the Dedekind zeta function, Hecke L-functions, and the Shintani zeta function for the space of binary quadratic forms.

For a pair of reductive groups $G \supset G'$, we prove a geometric criterion for the space $Sh(λ, ν)$ of Shintani functions to be finite-dimensional in the Archimedean case. This criterion leads us to a complete classification of the symmetric pairs $(G,G')$ having finite-dimensional Shintani spaces. A geometric criterion for uniform boundedness of $dim Sh(λ, ν)$ is also obtained. Furthermore, we prove that symmetry breaking operators of the restriction of smooth admissible representations yield Shintani functions of moderate growth, of which the dimension is determined for $(G, G') = (O(n+1,…
We propose new explicit form of q-deformed Whittaker functions solving q-deformed gl(l+1)-Toda chains. In the limit q->1 constructed solutions reduce to classical class one gl(l+1)-Whittaker functions in the form proposed by Givental. An important property of the proposed expression for the q-deformed gl(l+1)-Whittaker function is that it can be represented as a character of C*x GL(l+1). This provides a q-version of the Shintani-Casselman-Shalika formula for p-adic Whittaker function. The Shintani-Casselman-Shalika formula is recovered in the limit q->0 when the q-deformed Whittaker function i…
For a reductive group $G$ over a non-Archimedean local field (e.g $GL_n( \mathbb{Q}_p )$ ), Jacquet's Whittaker function is essentially proportional to a character of an irreducible representation of the Langlands dual group $G^\vee( \mathbb{C} )$ ( a Schur function if $G = GL_n( \mathbb{Q}_p )$). We propose a probabilistic approach to this claim, known as the Shintani-Casselman-Shalika formula, when the group $G$ has at least one minuscule cocharacter in the coweight lattice. Our presentation goes along the following lines. Thanks to a minuscule random walk $W^{(z)}$ on the coweight lattice a…
As a generalization of the Dedekind zeta function, Weng defined the high rank zeta functions and proved that they have standard properties of zeta functions, namely, meromorphic continuation, functional equation, and having only two simple poles. The rank one zeta function is the Dedekind zeta function. For the rank two case, the Riemann hypothesis is proved for a general number field. Recently, he defined more general new zeta function associated to a pair of reductive group and its maximal parabolic subgroup. As well as high rank zeta functions, the new zeta function satisfies standard prope…
It is shown that Weng's zeta functions associated with arbitrary semisimple algebraic groups defined over the rational number field and their maximal parabolic subgroups satisfy the functional equations.
In this paper we continue to study the Reidemeister zeta function. We prove Pólya -- Carlson dichotomy between rationality and a natural boundary for analytic behavior of the Reidemeister zeta function for a large class of automorphisms of Abelian groups. We also study dynamical representation theory zeta functions counting numbers of fixed irreducible representations for iterations of an endomorphism. The rationality and functional equation for these zeta functions are proven for several classes of groups. We find a connection between these zeta functions and the Reidemeister torsions of the …
