Let $X$ be a compact Hausdorff space, let $E$ be a Banach space, and let $C(X,E)$ stand for the Banach space of $E$-valued continuous functions on $X$ under the uniform norm. In this paper we characterize Integral operators (in the sense of Grothendieck) on $C(X,E)$ spaces in term of their representing vector measures. This is then used to give some applications to Nuclear operators on $C(X,E)$ spaces.
Here Lq-Lp boundedness of integral operator with operator-valued kernels is studied and the main result is applied to convolution operators. Using these results Besov space regularity for Fourier multiplier operator is established.
Strong Bochner type integrals with values in locally convex spaces are introduced. It is shown that the strong integral exists in the same cases as the weak (Gelfand-Pettis) integral is known to exist. The strong integral has better continuity properties that the weak integral.
In this paper, we define the Dunford-Henstock-Kurzweil and the Dunford-McShane integrals of Banach space valued functions defined on a bounded Lebesgue measurable subset of m-dimensional Euclidean space Rm. We will show that the new integrals are "natural" extensions of the McShane and the Henstock-Kurzweil integrals from m-dimensional closed non-degenerate intervals to m-dimensional bounded Lebesgue measurable sets. As applications, we will present full descriptive characterizations of the McShane and Henstock-Kurzweil integrals in terms of our integrals. Moreover, a relationship between new …
A multivalued integral in Riesz spaces is given using the Kurzweil-Henstock integral construction. Some of its properties and a comparison with the Aumann approach are also investigated.
The aim of this paper is to show some examples of matrix-valued orthogonal functions on the real line which are simultaneously eigenfunctions of a second-order differential operator of Schrödinger type and an integral operator of Fourier type. As a consequence we derive integral representations of these functions as well as other useful structural formulas. Some of these functions are plotted to show the relationship with the Hermite or wave functions.
In this paper we consider the problem of optimization of approximate integration of set-valued functions from the class defined by given majorant of their moduli of continuity, using values of the functions at $n$ fixed or free points of their domain. We consider the cases of exact information and information with error.
Some topics concerning the Gould integral are presented here: new results of integrability on finite measure spaces with values in an M-space are given, together with a Radon-Nikodym theorem relative to a Gould-type integral of real functions with respect to a multisubmeasure.
Two new generalizations of the relation of comonotonicity of lattice-valued vectors are introduced and discussed. These new relations coincide on distributive lattices and they share several properties with the comonotonicity for the real-valued vectors (which need not hold for $L$-valued vectors comonotonicity, in general). Based on these newly introduced generalized types of comonotonicity of $L$-valued vectors, several new axiomatizations of $L$-valued Sugeno integrals are introduced. One of them brings a substantial decrease of computational complexity when checking an aggregation function…
In the paper Henstock, McShane, Birkhoff and variationally multivalued integrals are studied for multifunctions taking values in the hyperspace of convex and weakly compact subsets of a general Banach space X. In particular the existence of selections integrable in the same sense of the corresponding multifunctions has been considered.
We study Henstock-type integrals for functions defined in a Radon measure space and taking values in a Banach lattice $X$. Both the single-valued case and the multivalued one are considered (in the last case mainly $cwk(X)$-valued mappings are discussed). The main tool to handle the multivalued case is a Rådström-type embedding theorem established in [50]: in this way we reduce the norm-integral to that of a single-valued function taking values in an $M$-space and we easily obtain new proofs for some decomposition results recently stated in [33,36], based on the existence of integrable selecti…
We discuss relationships between the McShane, Pettis, Talagrand and Bochner integrals. A large number of different methods of integration of Banach-space-valued functions have been introduced, based on the various possible constructions of the Lebesgue integral. They commonly run fairly closely together when the range space is separable (or has w^*-separable dual) and diverge more or less sharply for general range spaces. The McShane integral as described by [Go] is derived from the `gauge-limit' integral of [McS]. Here we give both positive and negative results concerning it and the other thr…
The natural BMO (bounded mean oscillation) conditions suggested by scalar-valued results are known to be insufficient for the boundedness of operator-valued paraproducts. Accordingly, the boundedness of operator-valued singular integrals has only been available under versions of the classical ``$T(1)\in BMO$'' assumptions that are not easily checkable. Recently, Hong, Liu and Mei (J. Funct. Anal. 2020) observed that the situation improves remarkably for singular integrals with a symmetry assumption, so that a classical $T(1)$ criterion still guarantees their $L^2$-boundedness on Hilbert space …
We show a Dvoretsky-Rogers type Theorem for the adapted version of the $q$-summing operators to the topology of the convergence of the vector valued integrals on Banach function spaces. In the pursuit of this objective we prove that the mere summability of the identity map does not guaranty that the space has to be finite dimensional, contrarily to the classical case. Some local compactness assumptions on the unit balls are required. Our results open the door to new convergence theorems and tools regarding summability of series of integrable functions and approximation in function spaces, sinc…
The paper deals with some properties of set-valued functions having a bounded Riesz p-variation. Set-valued integrals of a Young type for such multifunctions are introduced. Selection results and properties of such setvalued integrals are discussed. These integrals contain as a particular case set-valued stochastic integrals with respect to a fractional Brownian motion, and therefore, their properties are crucial for the investigation of solutions to stochastic differential inclusions driven by a fractional Brownian motion.
Some reverses of the continuous triangle inequality for Bochner integral of vector-valued functions in Hilbert spaces are given. Applications for complex-valued functions are provided as well.
Some additive reverses of the continuous triangle inequality for Bochner integral of vector-valued functions in Hilbert spaces are given. Applications for complex-valued functions are provided as well.
Some quadratic reverses of the continuous triangle inequality for Bochner integral of vector-valued functions in Hilbert spaces are given. Applications for complex-valued functions are provided as well.
In this note we define and study a Hilbert space-valued stochastic integral of operator-valued functions with respect to Hilbert space-valued measures. We show that this integral generalizes the classical Ito stochastic integral of adapted processes with respect to normal martingales and the Ito integral in a Fock space
Some reverses of the continuous triangle inequality for Bochner integral of vector-valued functions in complex Hilbert spaces are given. Applications for complex-valued functions are provided as well.
We prove sharp maximal inequalities for $L^q$-valued stochastic integrals with respect to any Hilbert space-valued local martingale. Our proof relies on new Burkholder-Rosenthal type inequalities for martingales taking values in an $L^q$-space.
We present a generalization of the Radon-Riesz property to sequences of continuous functions with values in uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach spaces.
In this paper we give a description of separating or disjointness preserving linear bijections on spaces of vector-valued absolutely continuous functions defined on compact subsets of the real line. We obtain that they are continuous and biseparating in the finite-dimensional case. The infinite-dimensional case is also studied.
The aim of this paper is to study relationships among "gauge integrals" (Henstock, Mc Shane, Birkhoff) and Pettis integral of multifunctions whose values are weakly compact and convex subsets of a general Banach space, not necessarily separable. For this purpose we prove the existence of variationally Henstock integrable selections for variationally Henstock integrable multifunctions. Using this and other known results concerning the existence of selections integrable in the same sense as the corresponding multifunctions, we obtain three decomposition theorems. As applications of such decompos…
We investigate some properties and convergence theorem of Kluvánek-Lewis-Henstock $\m-$integrability for $\m-$measurable functions that we introduced in \cite{ABH}. We give a $\m-$a.e. convergence version of Dominated (resp. Bounded) Convergence Theorem for $\m.$ We introduce Kluvánek-Lewis-Henstock integrable of scalar-valued functions with respect to a set valued measure in a Banach space. Finally we introduce $(KL)-$type Dominated Convergence Theorem for the set-valued Kluvánek-Lewis-Henstock integral.
We introduce a method to construct general multivariate positive definite kernels on a nonempty set $X$ that employs a prescribed bounded completely monotone function and special multivariate functions on $X$.\ The method is consistent with a generalized version of Aitken's integral formula for Gaussians.\ In the case where $X$ is a cartesian product, the method produces nonseparable positive definite kernels that may be useful in multivariate interpolation.\ In addition, it can be interpreted as an abstract multivariate generalization of the well-established Gneiting's model for constructing …
We introduce Kuelbs-Steadman-type spaces for real-valued functions, with respect to countably additive measures, taking values in Banach spaces. We investigate their main properties and embeddings in $L^p$-type spaces, considering both the norm associated to norm convergence of the involved integrals and that related to weak convergence of the integrals.
We prove some vector-valued inequalities for fractional integrals defined in the context of two different orthonormal systems of Laguerre functions. Our results are based on estimates of the corresponding kernels with precise control of the parameters involved. As an application, mixed norm estimates for the fractional integrals related to the harmonic oscillator are deduced.
A Daniell-Stone type characterization theorem for Aumann integrals of set-valued measurable functions will be proven. It is assumed that the values of these functions are closed convex upper sets, a structure that has been used in some recent developments in set-valued variational analysis and set optimization. It is shown that the Aumann integral of such a function is also a closed convex upper set. The main theorem characterizes the conditions under which a functional that maps from a certain collection of measurable set-valued functions into the set of all closed convex upper sets can be wr…
In this paper, we introduce the paths space $\mathcal C_0^{\mathrm{gBm}}$ which is consists of generalized Brownian motion path-valued continuous functions on $[0,T]$. We next present several relevant examples of the paths space integral. We then discuss the concept of the analytic Feynman integration theory for functionals $F$ on the paths space $\mathcal C_0^{\mathrm{gBm}}$.
In this work we establish a Stokes-type integral equality for scalarly essentially integrable forms on an orientable smooth manifold with values in the locally convex linear space $\langle B(G),σ(B(G),\mathcal{N})\rangle$, where $G$ is a complex Banach space and $\mathcal{N}$ is a suitable linear subspace of the norm dual of $B(G)$. This result widely extends the Newton-Leibnitz-type equality stated in one of our previous articles. To obtain our equality we generalize the main result of that article, and employ the Stokes theorem for smooth locally convex vector valued forms established in a p…
Given a compact space $X$, a commutative Banach algebra $A$, and an $A$-valued function algebra $\mathscr{A}$ on $X$, the notions of vector-valued spectrum of functions $f\in\mathscr{A}$ are discussed. The $A$-valued spectrum $\vec{SP}_A(f)$ of every $f\in\mathscr{A}$ is defined in such a way that $f(X) \subset \vec{SP}_A(f)$. Utilizing the $A$-characters introduced in (M. Abtahi, \textit{Vector-valued characters on vector-valued function algebras}, \texttt{arXiv:1509.09215 [math.FA]}), it is proved that $\vec{SP}_A(f) = \{Ψ(f):\text{$Ψ$ is an $A$-character of $\mathscr{A}$}\}$. For the so-cal…
In this paper, we will obtain the strong type and weak type estimates for vector-valued analogues of intrinsic square functions in the generalized weighted Morrey spaces $M^{Φ,φ}_{w}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. We study the boundedness of intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area integral, Littlewood-Paley $\mathrm{g}$-function and $\mathrm{g}_λ^{*}$ -function and their commutators on vector-valued generalized weighted Morrey spaces $M^{Φ,φ}_{w}(l_2)$. In all the cases the conditions for the boundedness are given either in terms of Zygmund-type integral inequalities on $φ(x,r)$ without assuming …
We present a new approach to define a suitable integral for functions with values in quasi-Banach spaces. The integrals of Bochner and Riemann have deficiencies in the non-locally convex setting. The study of an integral for $p$-Banach spaces initiated by Vogt is neither totally satisfactory, since there are quasi-Banach spaces which are $p$-convex for all $0<p<1$, so it is not always possible to choose an optimal $p$ to develop the integration. Our method puts the emphasis on the galb of the space, which permits a precise definition of its convexity. The integration works for all spaces of ga…
Let $X$ be a compact Hausdorff space and $A$ a Banach algebra. We investigate amenability properties of the algebra $C(X,A)$ of all $A$-valued continuous functions. We show that $C(X,A)$ has a bounded approximate diagonal if and only if $A$ has a bounded approximate diagonal; if $A$ has a compactly central approximate diagonal (unbounded) then $C(X,A)$ has a compactly approximate diagonal. Weak amenability of $C(X,A)$ for commutative $A$ is also considered.
We investigate the problem of existence of a bounded extension to $C(K)$ of a bounded $c_0(I)$-valued operator $T$ defined on the subalgebra of $C(K)$ induced by a continuous increasing surjection $ϕ:K\to L$, where $K$ and $L$ are compact lines. Generalizations of some of the results of [6] about extension of $c_0$-valued operators are obtained. For instance, we prove that when a bounded extension of $T$ exists then an extension can be obtained with norm at most twice the norm of $T$. Moreover, the class of compact lines $L$ for which the $c_0$-extension property is equivalent to the $c_0(I)$-…
Let $Ω$ be a compact Hausdorff space, let $E$ be a Banach space, and let $C(Ω, E)$ stand for the Banach space of all $E$-valued continuous functions on $Ω$ under supnorm. In this paper we study when nuclear operators on $C(Ω, E)$ spaces can be completely characterized in terms of properties of their representing vector measures. We also show that if $F$ is a Banach space and if $T:\ C(Ω, E)\rightarrow F$ is a nuclear operator, then $T$ induces a bounded linear operator $T^\#$ from the space $C(Ω)$ of scalar valued continuous functions on $Ω$ into $\slN(E,F)$ the space of nuclear operators from…
The vector-valued $T(1)$ theorem due to Figiel, and a certain square function estimate of Bourgain for translations of functions with a limited frequency spectrum, are two cornerstones of harmonic analysis in UMD spaces. In this paper, a simplified approach to these results is presented, exploiting Nazarov, Treil and Volberg's method of random dyadic cubes, which allows to circumvent the most subtle parts of the original arguments.
Measure and integral are two closely related, but distinct objects of study. Nonetheless, they are both real-valued lattice valuations: order preserving real-valued functions $ϕ$ on a lattice $L$ which are modular, i.e., $ϕ(x)+ϕ(y) = ϕ(x\wedge y)+ϕ(x\vee y)$ for all $x,y \in L$. We unify measure and integral by developing a theory for lattice valuations. We allow these lattice valuations to take their values from the reals, or any suitable ordered Abelian group.
In this paper, a new two-dimensional Hardy type inequality is given in terms of pseudo-analysis dealing with set-valued functions. The first one is given for a pseudo-integral of set-valued function where pseudo-addition and pseudo-multiplication are constructed by a monotone continuous function $g:[0, \infty ]\to[0, \infty]$. Another is given by the semiring $([0, 1], \max, \odot)$ where pseudo-multiplication is generated by an increasing continuous function.
In this paper an analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral was studied on a very general Wiener space $C_{a,b}[0,T]$. The general Wiener space $C_{a,b}[0,T]$ is a function space which is induced by the generalized Brownian motion process associated with continuous functions $a$ and $b$. The structure of the analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral is suggested and the existence of the analytic operator-valued generalized Feynman integral is investigated as an operator from $L^1(\mathbb R, ν_{δ,a})$ to $L^{\infty}(\mathbb R)$ where $ν_{δ,a}$ is a $σ$-finite measure on $…
For metric spaces $X$ and $Y$, normed spaces $E$ and $F$, and certain subspaces $A(X,E)$ and $A(Y,F)$ of vector-valued continuous functions, we obtain a complete characterization of linear and bijective maps $T:A(X,E)\to A(Y,F)$ preserving common zeros, that is, maps satisfying the property \setcounter{equation}{15} \label{dub} Z(f)\cap Z(g)\neq \emptyset \Longleftrightarrow Z(Tf)\cap Z(Tg)\neq \emptyset for any $f,g\in A(X,E)$, where $Z(f)=\{x\in X:f(x)=0\}$. Moreover, we provide some examples of subspaces for which the automatic continuity of linear bijections having the property (\ref{dub})…
One considers Hilbert space valued measures on the Borel sets of a compact metric space. A natural numerical valued integral of vector valued continuous functions with respect to vector valued functions is defined. Using this integral, different norms (we called them Monge-Kantorovich norm, modified Monge-Kantorovich norm and Hanin norm) on the space of measures are introduced, generalizing the theory of (weak) convergence for probability measures on metric spaces. These norms introduce new (equivalent) metrics on the initial compact metric space.
Let X be a compact Hausdorf space, let A be a commutative unital Banach algebra, and let C(X,A) denote the algebra of continuous A-valued functions on $X$ equipped with the uniform norm ||f||=sup{||f(x)||:x\in X} for all f in C(X,A). Hausner, in [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 8(1957), 246--249], proved that M is a maximal ideal in C(X,A) if and only if there exist a point x in X and a maximal ideal N in A such that M={f in C(X,A) : f(x) in N}. In this note, we give new characterizations of maximal ideals in C(X,A). We also present a short proof of Hausner's result by a different approach.
This habilitation thesis centres on linearisation of vector-valued functions which means that vector-valued functions are represented by continuous linear operators. The first question we face is which vector-valued functions may be represented by continuous linear operators where vector-valued means that the functions have values in a locally convex Hausdorff space $E$. We study this problem in the framework of $\varepsilon$-products and give sufficient conditions when a space of $E$-valued functions coincides (up to an isomorphism) with the $\varepsilon$-product of a corresponding space of s…
The Wodzicki residue and the cut-off integral extend to classical symbol-valued forms. We show that they obey a Stokes' type property and that the extended Wodzicki residue can be interpreted as a complex residue like the ordinary one. In the case of cut-off integrals, Stokes' property (i.e. vanishing on exact forms) only holds for non-integer order symbol-valued forms and leads to an integration by parts formula and translation invariance for cut-off integrals on non-integer order classical symbols. The extended Wodzicki residue yields an even residue cycle on classical symbols and an odd coc…
A vector-valued version of the Girsanov theorem is presented, for a scalar process with respect to a Banach-valued measure. Previously, a short discussion about the Birkhoff-type integration is outlined, as for example integration by substitution, in order to fix the measure-theoretic tools needed for the main result, Theorem 6, where a martingale equivalent to the underlying vector probability has been obtained in order to represent the modified process as a martingale with the same marginals as the original one.
We prove that the class of trilinear multiplier forms with singularity over a one dimensional subspace, including the bilinear Hilbert transform, admit bounded $L^p$-extension to triples of intermediate $\mathrm{UMD}$ spaces. No other assumption, for instance of Rademacher maximal function type, is made on the triple of $\mathrm{UMD}$ spaces. Among the novelties in our analysis is an extension of the phase-space projection technique to the $\mathrm{UMD}$-valued setting. This is then employed to obtain appropriate single tree estimates by appealing to the $\mathrm{UMD}$-valued bound for bilinea…
