We study the geometry of the tangent bundle equipped with a two-parameter family of Riemannian metrics. After deriving the expression of the Levi-Civita connection, we compute the Riemann curvature tensor and the sectional, Ricci and scalar curvatures. Specializing to the case of space forms, we characterise the metrics giving positive sectional curvature and show that one can always find parameters ensuring positive scalar curvature on the tangent space. Under some curvature conditions, this extends to general base manifolds.

We found conditions under which $T(M)$ is almost Kählerian, locally conformal Kählerian or Kählerian or when $T(M)$ has constant sectional curvature or constant scalar curvature.
Let $(M,g)$ be an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold and $T^{*}M$ be its cotangent bundle equipped with a Riemannian metric of Cheeger Gromoll type which rescale the horizontal part by a nonzero differentiable function. The main purpose of the present paper is to discuss curvature properties of $T^{*}M$ and construct almost paracomplex Norden structures on $T^{*}M$. We investigate conditions for these structures to be para-Kähler (paraholomorphic) and quasi-Kähler. Also, some properties of almost paracomplex Norden structures in context of almost product Riemannian manifolds are presented.

We show, using two different approaches, that there exists a family of Riemannian metrics on the tangent bundle of a two-sphere, which induces metrics of constant curvature on its unit tangent bundle. In other words, given such a metric on the tangent bundle of a two-sphere, the Hopf map is identified with a Riemannian submersion from the universal covering space of the unit tangent bundle onto the two-sphere. A hyperbolic counterpart dealing with the tangent bundle of a hyperbolic plane is also presented.
We prove a new generalization of the Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem where we obtain a warped product splitting under the existence of a line. The curvature condition in our splitting is a curvature dimension inequality of the form $CD(0,1)$. Even though we have to allow warping in our splitting, we are able to recover topological applications. We study unit horizontal bundles associated with Riemannian submersions. First we investigate metric properties of an arbitrary unit horizontal bundle equipped with a Riemannian metric of the Cheeger-Gromoll type. Next we examine it from the Gromov-Hausdorff convergence theory point of view, and we state a collapse theorem for unit horizontal bundles associated with a sequence of warped Riemannian submersions.

We prove short time existence for the Ricci flow on open manifolds of nonnegative complex sectional curvature. We do not require upper curvature bounds. By considering the doubling of convex sets contained in a Cheeger-Gromoll convex exhaustion and solving the singular initial value problem for the Ricci flow on these closed manifolds, we obtain a sequence of closed solutions of the Ricci flow with nonnegative complex sectional curvature which subconverge to a solution of the Ricci flow on the open manifold. We investigate the structure of a Finsler manifold of nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature including a straight line, and extend the classical Cheeger-Gromoll-Lichnerowicz splitting theorem. Such a space admits a diffeomorphic, measure-preserving splitting in general. As for a special class of Berwald spaces, we can perform the isometric splitting in the sense that there is a one-parameter family of isometries generated from the gradient vector field of the Busemann function. A Betti number estimate is also given for Berwald spaces.
In this paper, we are going to show some rigidity results for complete open Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature. Without using the famous Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem we give a new proof to a rigidity result for complete manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature admitting a proper smooth map to $T^{n-1}\times \mathbf R$ with nonzero degree. This paper addresses Cheeger and Gromoll's question of which vector bundles admit a complete metric of nonnegative curvature, and relates their question to the issue of which sphere bundles admit a metric of positive curvature. We show that any vector bundle which admits a metric of nonnegative curvature must admit a connection, a tensor, and a metric on the base space which together satisfy a certain differential inequality. In this note it is shown that Berwald spaces admitting the same norm-preserving torsion-free affine connection have the same (weighted) Ricci curvatures. Combing this with Szabó's Berwald metrization theorem one can apply the Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem in order to get a full structure theorem for Berwald spaces of non-negative Ricci curvature. The main result of this article states that the (K;N)-cone over some metric measure space satisfies the reduced Riemannian curvature-dimension condition RCD^*(KN;N+1) if and only if the underlying space satisfies RCD^*(N-1;N). The aim of the present article is to give an overview of spectral theory on metric graphs guided by spectral geometry on discrete graphs and manifolds. We present the basic concept of metric graphs and natural Laplacians acting on it and explicitly allow infinite graphs. Motivated by the general form of a Laplacian on a metric graph, we define a new type of combinatorial Laplacian. With this generalised discrete Laplacian, it is possible to relate the spectral theory on discrete and metric graphs. Moreover, we describe a connection of metric graphs with manifolds.
