First, sufficient conditions are given for a triangular array of random vectors such that the sequence of related random step functions converges towards a (not necessarily time homogeneous) diffusion process. These conditions are weaker and easier to check than the existing ones in the literature, and they are derived from a very general semimartingale convergence theorem due to Jacod and Shiryaev, which is hard to use directly. Next, sufficient conditions are given for convergence of stochastic integrals of random step functions, where the integrands are functionals of the integrators. This result covers situations which can not be handled by existing ones.
In this note, convergence of random variables will be revisited. We will give the answers to 5 questions among the 6 open questions introduced in (Convergence rates in the law of large numbers and new kinds of convergence of random variables, {\it Communication in Statistics - Theory and Methods}, DOI: 10.1080/03610926.2020.1716248), and make some related discussions.
This short note provides a new and simple proof of the convergence rate for Peng's law of large numbers under sublinear expectations, which improves the corresponding results in Song [15] and Fang et al. [3].
A powerful tool for studying long-term convergence of a Markov process to its stationary distribution is a Lyapunov function. In some sense, this is a substitute for eigenfunctions. For a stochastically ordered Markov process on the half-line, Lyapunov functions can be used to easily find explicit rates of convergence. Our earlier research focused on exponential rate of convergence. This note extends these results to slower rates, including power rates, thus improving results of (Douc, Fort, Guillin, 2009).
We propose a new approach to vague convergence of measures based on the general theory of boundedness due to Hu (1966). The article explains how this connects and unifies several frequently used types of vague convergence from the literature. Such an approach allows one to translate already developed results from one type of vague convergence to another. We further analyze the corresponding notion of vague topology and give a new and useful characterization of convergence in distribution of random measures in this topology.
The Ogawa stochastic integral is shortly reviewed and formulated in the framework of abstract Wiener spaces. The condition of universal Ogawa integrability in the multidimensional case is investigated, proving that it cannot hold in general without the introduction of a "renormalization term". Explicit examples are provided.
We consider SDEs with bounded and $α$-Hölder continuous drift, with $α\in (0,1)$, driven by multiplicative noise. We show that under sufficient conditions on the diffusion matrix, which guarantee the existence of a unique strong solution, the weak rate of convergence for the Euler-Maruyama scheme is almost $(1+α)/2$. The present paper forms part of the author's master's thesis.

This note establishes convergence in mean of order $p$, $0<p\le 1$ for $d$-dimensional arrays of random vectors in Hilbert spaces under the Cesàro uniform integrability conditions. In the case where $0<p<1$, our $L_p$ convergence is valid irrespective of any dependence structure. In the case where $p=1$, the underlying random vectors are supposed to be pairwise independent. The mean convergence results are established for maximal partial sums while previous contributions were so far considered partial sums only. Some results in the literature are extended. Various properties of the Cesàro unif…
Recently, for the joint partial sum and partial maxima processes constructed from linear processes with independent identically distributed innovations that are regularly varying with tail index $α\in (0, 2)$, a functional limit theorem with the Skorohod weak $M_{2}$ topology has been obtained. In this paper we show that, if all the coefficients of the linear processes are of the same sign, the functional convergence holds in the stronger topology, i.e. in the Skorohod weak $M_{1}$ topology on the space of $\mathbb{R}^{2}$--valued càdlàg functions on $[0, 1]$.
The adapted weak topology is an extension of the weak topology for stochastic processes designed to adequately capture properties of underlying filtrations. With the recent work of Bart--Beiglböck-P. as starting point, the purpose of this note is to recover with topological arguments the intriguing result by Backhoff-Bartl-Beiglböck-Eder that all adapted topologies in discrete time coincide. We also derive new characterizations of this topology including descriptions of its trace on the sets of Markov processes and processes equipped with their natural filtration. To emphasize the generality o…
An explicit Milstein-type scheme for stochastic differential equation with Markovian switching is derived and its strong convergence in $\mathcal{L}^2$-sense is established without using Itô-Taylor expansion formula. Rate of strong convergence is shown to be equal to $1.0$ under the assumptions that coefficients satisfy mild regularity conditions. More precisely, coefficients are assumed to be only once differentiable which are more relaxed conditions than those made in existing literature.
