Let A be a basic connected finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field, let G be a group, let T be a basic tilting A-module and let B the endomorphism algebra of T. Under a hypothesis on T, we establish a correspondence between the Galois coverings with group G of A and the Galois coverings with group G of B. The hypothesis on T is expressed using the Hasse diagram of basic tilting A-modules and is always verified if A is of finite representation type. Then, we use the above correspondence to prove that A is simply connected if and only if B is simply connected, under the same hypothesis on T. Finally, we prove that if a tilted algebra B of type Q is simply connected, then Q is a tree and the first Hochschild cohomology group of B vanishes
Support $τ$-tilting modules correspond to some classes of categorical objects bijectively, such as two-term tilting complexes for any finite dimensional symmetric algebra. This fact motivates us to classify support $τ$-tilting modules over blocks of finite groups. Therefore we classify support $τ$-tilting modules over particular blocks of finite groups by using the modular representation theoretical approaches including Clifford theory, Green's indecomposability theorem and so on.
Let $k$ be a commutative ring. We study the behaviour of coverings of $k$-categories through fibre products and find a criterion for a covering to be Galois or universal.
We investigate the Galois coverings of weakly shod algebras. For a weakly shod algebra not quasi-tilted of canonical type, we establish a correspondence between its Galois coverings and the Galois coverings of its connecting component. As a consequence, we show that a weakly shod algebra is simply connected if and only if its first Hochschild cohomology group vanishes.
In this work, we prove that if a triangular algebra $A$ admits a strongly simply connected universal Galois covering for a given presentation then the fundamental group associated to this presentation is free.
Let $p$ be a prime number, $k$ an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p$, $\tilde{G}$ a finite group, and $G$ a normal subgroup of $\tilde{G}$ having a $p$-power index in $\tilde{G}$. Moreover let $B$ be a block of $kG$ with a cyclic defect group and $\tilde{B}$ be the unique block of $k\tilde{G}$ covering $B$. We study tilting complexes over the block $\tilde{B}$ and show that the block $\tilde{B}$ is a tilting-discrete algebra. Moreover we show that the set of all tilting complexes over $\tilde{B}$ is isomorphic to that over $B$ as partially ordered sets.
Applying geometric methods of $2$-dimensional cell complex theory, we construct a Galois covering of a bimodule problem satisfying some structure, triangularity and finiteness conditions in order to describe the objects of finite representation type. Each admitted bimodule problem $\mathcal A$ is endowed with a quasi multiplicative basis. The main result shows that for a problem from the considered class having some finiteness restrictions and the schurian universal covering $\tilde{\mathcal A}$, either $\mathcal A$ is schurian, or its basic bigraph contains a dotted loop, or it has a standard…
We introduce the concept of a Galois covering of a pointed coalgebra. The theory developed shows that Galois coverings of pointed coalgebras can be concretely expressed by smash coproducts using the coaction of the automorphism group of the covering. Thus the theory of Galois coverings is seen to be equivalent to group gradings of coalgebras. An advantageous feature of the coalgebra theory is that neither the grading group nor the quiver is assumed finite in order to obtain a smash product coalgebra.
It is shown that, the quasi-Koszulities of algebras and modules are Morita invariance. A finite-dimensional $K$-algebra $A$ with an action of $G$ is quasi-Koszul if and only if so is the skew group algebra $A \ast G$, where $G$ is a finite group satisfying $\char K \nmid |G|$. A finite-dimensional $G$-graded $K$-algebra $A$ is quasi-Koszul if and only if so is the smash product $A # G^*$, where $G$ is a finite group satisfying $\char K \nmid |G|$. These results are applied to prove that, if a finite-dimensional connected quiver algebra is Koszul then so are its Galois covering algebras with fi…
Coverings in the representation theory of algebras were introduced for the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a representation finite algebra by Riedtmann and later for finite dimensional algebras by Bongartz and Gabriel, R. Martinez-Villa and de la Peña. The best understood class covering functors is that of Galois covering functors F: A -> B determined by the action of a group of automorphisms of A. In this work we introduce the balanced covering functors which include the Galois class and for which classical Galois covering-type results still hold. For instance, if F:A -> B is a balanced covering f…
We study the module category of a certain Galois covering of a cluster-tilted algebra which we call the cluster repetitive algebra. Our main result compares the module categories of the cluster repetitive algebra of a tilted algebra C and the repetitive algebra of C, in the sense of Hughes and Waschbuesch.
Assume that $K$ is an algebraically closed field, $R$ a locally support-finite locally bounded $K$-category, $G$ a torsion-free admissible group of $K$-linear automorphisms of $R$ and $A=R/G$. We show that the Krull-Gabriel dimension $KG(R)$ of $R$ is finite if and only if the Krull-Gabriel dimension $KG(A)$ of $A$ is finite. In these cases $KG(R)=KG(A)$. We apply this result to determine the Krull-Gabriel dimension of standard selfinjective algebras of polynomial growth. Finally, we show that there are no super-decomposable pure-injective modules over standard selfinjective algebras of domest…
We consider categories over a field $k$ in order to prove that smash extensions and Galois coverings with respect to a finite group coincide up to Morita equivalence of $k$-categories. For this purpose we describe processes providing Morita equivalences called contraction and expansion. We prove that composition of these processes provides any Morita equivalence, a result which is related with the karoubianisation (or idempotent completion) and additivisation of a $k$-category.
In this paper, we study the covering theory of laura algebras. We prove that if a connected laura algebra is standard (that is, it is not quasi-tilted of canonical type and its connecting components are standard), then this algebra has nice Galois coverings associated to the coverings of the connecting component. As a consequence, we show that the first Hochschild cohomology group of a standard laura algebra vanishes if and only if it has no proper Galois coverings.
We prove that for all non-abelian finite simple groups $S$, there exists a fake mth Galois action on IBr$(X)$ with respect to $X \lhd X \rtimes $ Aut$(X)$, where $X$ is the universal covering group of $S$ and $m$ is any non-negative integer coprime to the order of $X$. This is one of the two inductive conditions needed to prove an $\ell$-modular analogue of the Glauberman-Isaacs correspondence.
We construct the intermediate coverings of cluster-tilted algebras by defining the generalized cluster categories. These generalized cluster categories are Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with fraction CY-dimension and have also cluster tilting objects (subcategories). Furthermore we study the representations of these intermediate coverings of cluster-tilted algebras.
Let $G$ be a group acting on a category $\mathcal{C}$. We give a definition for a functor $F\colon \mathcal{C} \to \mathcal{C}'$ to be a $G$-covering and three constructions of the orbit category $\mathcal{C}/G$, which generalizes the notion of a Galois covering of locally finite-dimensional categories with group $G$ whose action on $\mathcal{C}$ is free and locally bonded defined by Gabriel. Here $\mathcal{C}/G$ is defined for any category $\mathcal{C}$ and we do not require that the action of $G$ is free or locally bounded. We show that a $G$-covering is a universal "$G$-invariant" functor a…
We provide an intrinsic definition of the fundamental group of a linear category over a ring as the automorphism group of the fibre functor on Galois coverings. If the universal covering exists, we prove that this group is isomorphic to the Galois group of the universal covering. The grading deduced from a Galois covering enables us to describe the canonical monomorphism from its automorphism group to the first Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology vector space.
In this paper we consider categories over a commutative ring provided either with a free action or with a grading of a not necessarily finite group. We define the smash product category and the skew category and we show that these constructions agree with the usual ones for algebras. In case of the smash product for an infinite group our construction specialized for a ring agrees with M. Beattie's construction of a ring with local units in \cite{be}. We recover in a categorical generalized setting the Duality Theorems of M. Cohen and S. Montgomery in \cite{cm}, and we provide a unification wit…
Let A be a basic finite dimensional and connected algebra over an algebraically closed field k with zero characteristic. If the ordinary quiver of A has no double bypasses, we show that A admits a Galois covering which satisfies a universal property with respect to the Galois coverings of A. This universal property is similar to the one of the universal cover of a connected topological space.
We investigate the Galois coverings of piecewise algebras and more particularly their behaviour under derived equivalences. Under a technical assumption which is satisfied if the algebra is derived equivalent to a hereditary algebra, we prove that there exists a universal Galois covering whose group of automorphisms is free and depends only on the derived category of the algebra. As a corollary, we prove that the algebra is simply connected if and only if its first Hochschild cohomology vanishes.
Let $\mathcal C$ be category over a commutative ring $k$, its Hochschild-Mitchell homology and cohomology are denoted respectively $HH_*(\mathcal C)$ and $HH^*(\mathcal C).$ Let $G$ be a group acting on $\mathcal C$, and $\mathcal C[G]$ be the skew category. We provide decompositions of the (co)homology of $\mathcal C[G]$ along the conjugacy classes of $G$. For Hochschild homology of a $k$-algebra, this corresponds to the decomposition obtained by M. Lorenz. If the coinvariants and invariants functors are exact, we obtain isomorphisms $\left(HH_*(C)\right)_G\simeq HH^{\{1\}}_* (\mathcal C[G])$…
We incorporate nonlinear covers of quasisplit reductive groups into the Langlands program, defining an L-group associated to such a cover. This L-group is an extension of the absolute Galois group of a local or global field $F$ by a complex reductive group. The L-group depends on an extension of a quasisplit reductive $F$-group by $\mathbf{K}_2$, a positive integer $n$ (the degree of the cover), an injective character $ε\colon μ_n \rightarrow {\mathbb C}^\times$, and a separable closure of $F$. Our L-group is consistent with previous work on covering groups, and its construction is contravaria…
Let $A$ be a $k$-algebra and $G$ be a group acting on $A$. We show that $G$ also acts on the Hochschild cohomology algebra $HH^{\bullet}(A)$ and that there is a monomorphism of rings $HH^{\bullet}(A)^G \hookrightarrow HH^{\bullet}(A[G])$. That allows us to show the existence of a monomorphism from $HH^{\bullet}(\widetilde{A})^G$ into $HH^{\bullet}(A)$, where $\widetilde{A}$ is a Galois covering with group $G$.
The aim of this paper is to generalize the notion of conformal blocks to the situation in which the Lie algebra they are attached to is not defined over a field, but depends on covering data of curves. The result will be a sheaf of conformal blocks on the Hurwitz stack parametrizing Galois coverings of curves. Many features of the classical sheaves of conformal blocks are proved to hold in this more general setting, in particular the fusion rules, the propagation of vacua and the WZW connection.
The main purpose of this paper is to provide explicit computations of the fundamental group of several algebras. For this purpose, given a $k$-algebra $A$, we consider the category of all connected gradings of $A$ by a group $G$ and we study the relation between gradings and Galois coverings. This theoretical tool gives information about the fundamental group of $A$, which allows its computation using complete lists of gradings.
