We discuss modular forms as objects of computer algebra and as elements of certain p-adic Banach modules. Problem-solving approach in number theory is discussed which is based on the use of generating functions and their links with modular forms. In particular, the critical values of various L-functions of modular forms produce non-trivial but computable solutions of arithmetical problems. Namely, for a prime number $p\ge 5$, we consider three classical cusp eigenforms $$f_j(z)=\sum_{n=1}^\infty a_{n,j}e(nz)\in \Sr_{k_j}(N_j, ψ_j),\ (j=1, 2,3)$$ of weights k_1, k_2, k_3, of conductors N_1, N_2, N_3, and of nebentypus characters $ψ_j \bmod N_j$. According to H.Hida \cite{Hi86} and R.Coleman \cite{CoPB}, one can include each $f_j$ $(j=1, 2, 3)$ (under suitable assumptions on $p$ and on $f_j$) into a $p$-adic analytic family $$k_j{}\mapsto \{f_{j,k_j{}}= \sum_{n=1}^\infty a_{n}(f_{j, k_j{}})q^n\}$$ of cusp eigenforms $f_{j,k_j{}}$ of weights $k_j{}$ in such a way that $f_{j,k_j}=f_j$, and that all their Fourier coefficients $a_n(f_{j, k_j{}})$ are given by certain $p$-adic analytic functions $k_j{}\mapsto a_{n, j}(k_j{})$. The purpose of this paper is to describe a four variable p-adic L-function attached to Garrett's triple product of three Coleman's families $$k_j{}\mapsto \left \{f_{j,k_j{}}= \sum_{n=1}^\infty a_{n,j}(k{}) q^n\right \}$$ of cusp eigenforms of three fixed slopes $σ_j=v_p(α_{p, j}^{(1)}(k_j{}))\ge 0$, where $α_{p,j}^{(1)} = \al_{p,j}^{(1)}(k_j{})$ is an eigenvalue (which depends on $k_j{}$) of Atkin's operator $U=U_p$ acting on Fourier expansions by $U(\sum_{n\ge 0}^\infty a_{n}q^n) = \sum_{n \ge 0}^\infty a_{np} q^n$.
In this paper, we aimed at constructing a two-variable Coleman map for a given $p$-adic family of eigen cuspforms with a fixed non-zero slope (Coleman family). A Coleman map is a machinary which transforms a hypothetical $p$-adic family of zeta elements to a $p$-adic $L$-function. The result would be a non-ordinary generalization of a two-variable Coleman map for a given Hida deformation obtained by the second-named author.
For a given Coleman family of modular forms, we construct a formal modeland prove the existence of a family of Galois representations associated to the Colemanfamily. As an application, we study the variations of Iwasawa $λ$- and $μ$-invariants of dualfine (strict) Selmer groups over the cyclotomic Zp-extension of Q in Coleman families ofmodular forms. This generalizes an earlier work of Jha and Sujatha for Hida families.
We construct two-parameter analytic families of Galois cohomology classes interpolating the etale Abel--Jacobi images of generalised Heegner cycles, with both the modular form and Grossencharacter varying in p-adic families.
We show that the Euler system associated to Rankin--Selberg convolutions of modular forms, introduced in our earlier works with Lei and Kings, varies analytically as the modular forms vary in $p$-adic Coleman families. We prove an explicit reciprocity law for these families, and use this to prove cases of the Bloch--Kato conjecture for Rankin--Selberg convolutions.
In this article, we discuss Iwasawa Main Conjecture for $p$-adic families of elliptic modular cuspforms. After the overview on the situation of the ordinary case of Hida family, we will introduce a Coleman map for Coleman family for the non-ordinary case (Coleman family) which was obtained as a joint work with Filippo Nuccio [NO16] and we give some results on Iwasawa Theory for Coleman families as applications of . First, we give a construction of a two-variable $p$-adic $L$-function for a Coleman family thanks to the ingredients given in [NO16] (Theorem 5.1). Combining this result and Coleman…
Kobayashi recently proved that the generalized Heegner cycles of Bertolini--Darmon--Prasanna can be interpolated along the anticyclotomic tower, giving rise to distribution valued cohomology classes with expected growth rate. We interpolate these classes along Coleman families. This construction plays a role in the proofs of $p$-adic Gross--Zagier formulae at for non-ordinary eigenforms and consequentially, also in the proof of a conjecture of Perrin-Riou.
For a prime number $p\ge 5$, we consider three classical cusp eigenforms $f_j(z)$ of weights $k_1, k_2, k_3$, of conductors $N_1, N_2, N_3$, and of nebentypus characters $ψ_j \bmod N_j$. According to H.Hida and R.Coleman, one can include each $f_j$ into a {$p$-adic analytic family} $k_j \mapsto \{f_{j,k_j}\}$ of cusp eigenforms $f_{j,k_j}$ of weights $k_j$ in such a way that $f_{j,k_j}=f_j$, and that all their Fourier coefficients $a_n(f_{j, k_j})$ are given by certain $p$-adic analytic functions $k_j{}\mapsto a_{n, j}(k_j{})$. The purpose of this paper is to describe a four variable $p$-adic …
Nearly higher Coleman theory and p-adic L-functions for $\mathrm{GSp}(4) \times \mathrm{GL}(2)$ and $\mathrm{GSp}(4) \times \mathrm{GL}(2) \times \mathrm{GL}(2)$
Ming-Lun Hsieh constructed three-variable triple product p-adic L-functions attached to triples of primitive Hida families and proved interpolation formulas. We generalize his result in the unbalanced case and construct a three-variable triple product p-adic L-function attached to a primitive Hida family and two more general p-adic families of modular forms.
In this preprint we prove that any finite slope modular form fits into a p-adic family of modular forms which is indexed by the weight. Here, the term p-adic family means that p-adic congruences between weights entail certain p-adic congruences between the corresponding modular forms. We also show that the dimension of the slope subspace of the space of modular forms does not depend on the weight. Both statements are predicted by the Mazur-Gouvea Conjecture, which has been proven by Coleman using methods from rigid analytic geometry. In contrast our proof is based on a comparison of (topologic…
We p-adically interpolate the relative de Rham cohomology of the universal elliptic curve over strict neighbourhoods of the ordinary locus of modular curves, together with the Hodge filtration and Gauss-Manin connection. Sections of these sheaves provide the so called nearly overconvergent modular forms. This extends previous work of Andreatta, Iovita and Pilloni where we p-adically interpolate powers of the Hodge bundle and in that case the sections coincide with Coleman overconvergent modular forms. We also show that, under suitable assumptions, one can p-adically interpolate the Gauss-Manin…
Let A,K be positive integers and u=-2,-1,1 or 2. The main contribution of the paper is a proof that each of the D(u^2)-triples {K,A^2K+2uA,(A+1)^2K+2u(A+1)} has unique extension to a D(u^2)-quadruple.
This note provides the construction of a three-variable family of cohomology classes arising from diagonal cycles on a triple product of towers of modular curves, and proves a reciprocity law relating it to the three variable triple-product $p$-adic $L$-function associated to a triple of Hida families by means of Perrin-Riou's $Λ$-adic regulator.
We construct the three-variable p-adic triple product L-functions attached to Hida families of ellptic newforms and prove the explicit interpolation formulae at all critical specializations by establishing explicit Ichino's formulae for the trilinear period integrals of automorphic forms. Our formulae perfectly fit the conjectural shape of p-adic L-functions predicted by Coates and Perrin-Riou. As an application, we prove the factorization of certain unbalanced p-adic triple product L-functions into a product of anticyclotomic p-adic L-functions for modular forms. By this factorization, we giv…
Let F be a totally real number field. Using a recent geometric approach developed by Andreatta and Iovita we construct several variables p-adic families of finite slope quaternionic automorphic forms over F. It is achieved by interpolating the modular sheaves defined over some auxiliary unitary Shimura curves. Secondly, we attach p-adic L-functions to triples of ordinary p-adic families of quaternionic automorphic eigenforms. This is done by relating trilinear periods to some trilinear products over unitary Shimura curves which can be interpolated adapting the work of Liu-Zhang-Zhang to our fa…
In this paper we define Banach spaces of overconvergent half-integral weight $p$-adic modular forms and Banach modules of families of overconvergent half-integral weight $p$-adic modular forms over admissible open subsets of weight space. Both spaces are equipped with a continuous Hecke action for which $U_{p^2}$ is moreover compact. The modules of families of forms are used to construct an eigencurve parameterizing all finite-slope systems of eigenvalues of Hecke operators acting on these spaces. We also prove an analog of Coleman's theorem stating that overconvergent eigenforms of suitably l…
Let $p$ be a prime $\ge 5$. We establish explicit rates of overconvergence for members of the "Eisenstein family", notably for the $p$-adic modular function $V(E_{(1,0)}^{\ast})/E_{(1,0)}^{\ast}$ ($V$ the $p$-adic Frobenius operator) that plays a pi\-votal role in Coleman's theory of $p$-adic families of modular forms. The proof goes via an in-depth analysis of rates of overconvergence of $p$-adic modular functions of form $V(E_k)/E_k$ where $E_k$ is the classical Eisenstein series of level $1$ and weight $k$ divisible by $p-1$. Under certain conditions, we extend the latter result to a vast g…
We construct p-adic L-functions associated with triples of finite slope p-adic families of quaternionic automorphic eigenforms over totally real fields on Shimura curves. These results generalize a previous construction, joint work with D.Barrera, performed in the ordinary setting.
Let $f_{\mathrm{new}}$ be a classical newform of weight $\geq 2$ and prime to $p$ level. We study the arithmetic of $f_{\mathrm{new}}$ and its unique $p$-stabilisation $f$ when $f_{\mathrm{new}}$ is $p$-irregular, that is, when its Hecke polynomial at $p$ admits a single repeated root. In particular, we study $p$-adic weight families through $f$ and its base-change to an imaginary quadratic field $F$ where $p$ splits, and prove that the respective eigencurves are both Gorenstein at $f$. We use this to construct a two-variable $p$-adic $L$-function over a Coleman family through $f$, and a three…
The eigencurve is a powerful tool introduced by Coleman and Mazur to study $p$-adic families of overconvergent modular forms. In this article, we introduce an analogous set of tools for understanding families of "overconvergent" $p$-adic representations of $π_1(X)$, where $X$ is a smooth affine variety over a finite field of characteristic $p$. Our main theorem is a trace formula relating the $L$-function of such a family to the geometry of a sequence of associated eigenvarieties. In the case of a single $p$-adic representation, our result reduces to the well known trace formula of Monsky. We …
We study the family of elliptic curves $y^2=x(x-a^2)(x-b^2)$ parametrized by Pythagorean triples $(a,b,c)$. We prove that for a generic triple the lower bound of the rank of the Mordell-Weil group over $\mathbb{Q}$ is 1, and for some explicitly given infinite family the rank is 2. To each family we attach an elliptic surface fibered over the projective line. We show that the lower bounds for the rank are optimal, in the sense that for each generic fiber of such an elliptic surface its corresponding Mordell-Weil group over the function field $\mathbb{Q}(t)$ has rank 1 or 2, respectively. In ord…
Euler's sum formula and its multi-variable and weighted generalizations form a large class of the identities of multiple zeta values. In this paper we prove a family of identities involving Bernoulli numbers and apply them to obtain infinitely many weighted sum formulas for double zeta values and triple zeta values where the weight coefficients are given by symmetric polynomials. We give a general conjecture in arbitrary depth at the end of the paper.
The main purpose of this note is to provide an algorithm for approximating the value of the balanced $p$-adic $L$-function, as constructed in [Hsi21], at the point $(2,1,1)$, which is lying outside of the interpolation region. The algorithmic procedure is obtained building on the work of [FM14] and considering finite length geodesics on the Bruhat--Tits tree for $GL_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$. We are interested in the case where at least one of the Hida families is associated with an elliptic curve over the rationals and we further restrict ourselves to the case where only one finite local sign of the f…
We study triples of graded rings defined over the deformation spaces for certain one-parameter families of Calabi-Yau threefolds. These rings are analogues of the rings of modular forms, quasi-modular forms and almost-holomorphic modular forms. We also discuss some of their applications in solving the holomorphic anomaly equations.
