In analogy to the classical isomorphism between $\mathcal{L}(\mathcal{S}(\mathbb{R}^{n}) ,\mathcal{S}^{\prime}(\mathbb{R}^{m}) ) $ and $\mathcal{S}^{\prime}(\mathbb{R}^{n+m}) $, we show that a large class of moderate linear mappings acting between the space $\mathcal{G}\_{\mathcal{S}}(\mathbb{R}^{n}) $ of Colombeau rapidly decreasing generalized functions and the space $\mathcal{G}\_τ(\mathbb{R}^{n}) $ of temperate ones admits generalized integral representations, with kernels belonging to $\mathcal{G}\_τ(\mathbb{R}^{n+m}) $. Furthermore, this result contains the classical one in the sense of the generalized distribution equality.
We give a simple proof of the Kernel theorem for the space of tempered ultradistributions of Beurling - Komatsu type, using the characterization of Fourier-Hermite coefficients of the elements of the space. We prove in details that the test space of tempered ultradistributions of Beurling - Komatsu type can be identified with the space of sequences of ultrapolynomal falloff and its dual space with the space of sequences of ultrapolynomial growth. As a consequence of the Kernel theorem we have that the Weyl transform can be extended on a space of tempered ultradistributions of Beurling - Komats…
An explicit counterexample shows that contrary to the situation in the special Colombeau algebra, positivity and invertibility cannot be characterized pointwise in algebras of tempered generalized functions. Further a point value characterization of the latter is refined.
In the present article, the author uses Fourier theory of tempered distributions (generalized functions) in deriving a formula for Dirichlet-like integrals. The applied method is remarkably efficient and allows a solution in a few calculational steps. The interest of the present article lies not only in the derivation of an appearently unknown formula but also in the original methodology of its derivation.
In this paper, we study the class of tempered distributions whose Fourier transform is a translation bounded measure and show that each such distribution in $\mathbb{R}^d$ has order at most $2d$. We show the existence of the generalized Eberlein decomposition within this class of distributions, and its compatibility with all previous Eberlein decompositions. The generalized Eberlein decomposition for Fourier transformable measures and properties of its components are discussed. Lastly, we take a closer look at the absolutely continuous spectrum of measures supported on Meyer sets.
Let G be a solvable Lie group endowed with right Haar measure. We define and study a dense Frechet *-subalgebra S of L1(G), consisting of smooth functions rapidly-decreasing at infinity on G. When G is nilpotent, we recover the classical Schwartz algebra introduced by R. Howe and other authors. We develop a distribution theory for S, and we generalize the classical Kernel Theorem of L. Schwartz to our setting.
The paper introduces a novel Ito's formula for time dependent tempered generalized functions. As an application, we study the heat equation when initial conditions are allowed to be a generalized tempered function. A new proof of the Ustunel- Ito's formula for tempered distributions is also provided.
In this work we introduce a new algebra of tempered generalized functions. The tempered distributions are embedded in this algebra via their Hermite expansions. The Fourier transform is naturally extended to this algebra in such a way that the usual relations involving multiplication, convolution and differentiation are valid. We study the elementary properties of the association, embedding, point values and Fourier transform. Furthermore, we give a generalized Ito formula in this context and some applications to stochastic analysis.
Ultrafunctions are a particular class of functions defined on some non- Archimedean field. They provide generalized solutions to functional equa- tions which do not have any solutions among the real functions or the distributions. In this paper we introduce a new class of ultrafunctions, called tempered ultrafunctions, which are somewhat related to the tem- pered distributions and present some interesting peculiarities.
We extend the functional analytic approach to Colombeau-type spaces of nonlinear generalized functions in order to study algebras of tempered generalized functions. We obtain a definition of Fourier transform of nonlinear generalized functions which has a strict inversion theorem, agrees with the classical Fourier transform for tempered distributions and preserves well-known classical properties.
In the present article, a new method for the evaluation of fractional derivatives of arbitrary real order is proposed. Numerous but inequivalent formulations have been given in the past. Some of them exhibit unsatisfactory properties such as e.g. the absence of a semigroup property. It is shown that the proposed definition is free from such drawbacks. In order to achieve such a generalization one has to work in the context of tempered distributions (generalized functions) where the concept works nicely. The last part of the article shows the possibility of defining fractional derivatives of pe…
We define the algebra of Colombeau generalized functions on the space of generalized points of {\mathbb R}^d which naturally contains the tempered generalized functions. The subalgebra of \mathscr{S}-regular generalized functions of this algebra is characterized by a pointwise property of the generalized functions and their Fourier transforms. We also characterize the equality in the sense of generalized tempered distributions for certain elements of this algebra (namely those with so-called slow scale support) by means of a pointwise property of their Fourier transforms. Further, we show that…
Flag kernels are tempered distributions which generalize these of Calderon-Zygmund type. For any homogeneous group $\mathbb{G}$ the class of operators which acts on $L^{2}(\mathbb{G})$ by convolution with a flag kernel is closed under composition. In the case of the Heisenberg group we prove the inverse-closed property for this algebra. It means that if an operator from this algebra is invertible on $L^{2}(\mathbb{G})$, then its inversion remains in the class.
We study Tauberian properties of regularizing transforms of vector-valued tempered distributions, that is, transforms of the form $M^{\mathbf{f}}_φ(x,y)=(\mathbf{f}\astφ_{y})(x)$, where the kernel $φ$ is a test function and $φ_{y}(\cdot)=y^{-n}φ(\cdot/y)$. We investigate conditions which ensure that a distribution that a priori takes values in locally convex space actually takes values in a narrower Banach space. Our goal is to characterize spaces of Banach space valued tempered distributions in terms of so-called class estimates for the transform $M^{\mathbf{f}}_φ(x,y)$. Our results generaliz…
In this note we define summable families in tempered distribution spaces and we state some their properties and characterizations. Summable families are the analogous of summable sequences in separable Hilbert spaces, but in tempered distribution spaces, having elements (functional) realizable as generalized vectors indexed by real Euclidean spaces (not pointwise defined ordered families of scalars indexed by real Euclidean spaces in the sense of distributions). Any family we introduce here is summable with respect to every tempered system of coefficients belonging to a certain normal space of…
In this paper we define Schwartz families in tempered distribution spaces and prove many their properties. Schwartz families are the analogous of infinite dimensional matrices of separable Hilbert spaces, but for the Schwartz test function spaces, having elements (functions) realizable as vectors indexed by real Euclidean spaces (ordered families of scalars indexed by real Euclidean spaces). In the paper, indeed, one of the consequences of the principal result (the characterization of summability for Schwartz families) is that the space of linear continuous operators among Schwartz test functi…
Matrix type operators with the off-diagonal decay of polynomial or sub-exponential types are revisited with weaker assumptions concerning row or column estimates, still giving the continuity results for the frame type operators. Such results are extended from Banach to Fréchet spaces. Moreover, the localization of Fréchet frames is used for the frame expansions of tempered distributions and a class of Beurling ultradistributions.
We define the spaces of Schwartz functions, tempered functions and tempered distributions on manifolds definable in polynomially bounded o-minimal structures. We show that all the classical properties that these spaces have in the Nash category, as first studied in Fokko du Cloux's work, also hold in this generalized setting. We also show that on manifolds definable in o-minimal structures that are not polynomially bounded, such a theory can not be constructed. We present some possible applications, mainly in representation theory.
We study certain families of oscillatory integrals $I_φ(a)$, parametrised by phase functions $φ$ and amplitude functions $a$ globally defined on $\mathbb{R}^d$, which give rise to tempered distributions, avoiding the standard homogeneity requirement on the phase function. The singularities of $I_φ(a)$ are described both from the point of view of the lack of smoothness as well as with respect to the decay at infinity. In particular, the latter will depend on a version of the set of stationary points of $φ$, including elements lying at the boundary of the radial compactification of $\mathbb{R}^d…
We give explicit transforms for Hilbert spaces associated with positive definite functions on $\mathbb{R}$, and positive definite tempered distributions, incl., generalizations to non-abelian locally compact groups. Applications to the theory of extensions of p.d. functions/distributions are included. We obtain explicit representation formulas for positive definite tempered distributions in the sense of L. Schwartz, and we give applications to Dirac combs and to diffraction. As further applications, we give parallels between Bochner's theorem (for continuous p.d. functions) on the one hand, an…
In connection with the classical Schwartz kernel theorem, we show that in the framework of Colombeau generalized functions a large class of linear mappings admit integral kernels. To do this, we need to introduce news spaces of generalized functions with slow growth and the corresponding adapted linear mappings. Finally, we show that in some sense Schwartz' result is contained in our main theorem.
In this paper, we consider the boundedness of a class of sublinear operators and their commutators by with rough kernels associated with Calderon-Zygmund operator, Hard-Littlewood maximal operator, fractional integral operator, fractional maximal operator by with rough kernels both on vanishing generalized Morrey spaces and vanishing Morrey spaces, respectively.
In this paper, we consider the boundedness of fractional type multilinear commutators generated by fractional integral with rough variable kernel and local Campanato functions on both generalized local (central) Morrey spaces and generalized vanishing local Morrey spaces, under generic size conditions which are satisfied by most of the operators in harmonic analysis, respectively.
In this paper, we give the boundedness of some parabolic multilinear commutators generated by a class of parabolic maximal and linear operators with rough kernel and parabolic local Campanato functions on the parabolic generalized local Morrey spaces, respectively. Indeed, the results in this paper are extensions of some known results.
The aim of this paper is to get the boundedness of certain sublinear operators with rough kernel generated by Calderón-Zygmund operators on the generalized weighted Morrey spaces under generic size conditions which are satisfied by most of the operators in harmonic analysis. We also prove that the commutator operators formed by BMO functions and certain sublinear operators with rough kernel are also bounded on the generalized weighted Morrey spaces. Marcinkiewicz operator which satisfies the conditions of these theorems can be considered as an example.
We prove new inequalities and equalities for the generalized and the joint spectral radius (and their essential versions) of Hadamard (Schur) geometric means of bounded sets of positive kernel operators on Banach function spaces. In the case of nonnegative matrices that define operators on Banach sequences we obtain additional results. Our results extend results of several authors that appeared relatively recently.
We introduce a method to construct general multivariate positive definite kernels on a nonempty set $X$ that employs a prescribed bounded completely monotone function and special multivariate functions on $X$.\ The method is consistent with a generalized version of Aitken's integral formula for Gaussians.\ In the case where $X$ is a cartesian product, the method produces nonseparable positive definite kernels that may be useful in multivariate interpolation.\ In addition, it can be interpreted as an abstract multivariate generalization of the well-established Gneiting's model for constructing …
In this paper, the weighted Lp boundedness of multilinear commutators and iterated commutators of multilinear singular integral operators with generalized kernels is established, where the weight is multiple weight. Our results are generalizations of the corresponding results for multilinear singular integral operators with standard kernels and Dini kernels.
Convolution is an important tool in the construction of positive definite kernels on a manifold. This contribution provides conditions on an $L^2$-positive definite and zonal kernel on the unit sphere of $\mathbb{C}^q$ in order that the kernel can be recovered as a generalized convolution root of an equally positive definite and zonal kernel.
Some sharp results related to the convergence of means and families of operators generated by the generalized Bochner-Riesz kernels are obtained. The exact order of approximation of functions by these methods via $K$-functional (or its realization in the case of the space $L_p$, $0<p<1$) is derived.
Summarizing basic facts from abstract topological modules over Colombeau generalized complex numbers we discuss duality of Colombeau algebras. In particular, we focus on generalized delta functionals and operator kernels as elements of dual spaces. A large class of examples is provided by pseudodifferential operators acting on Colombeau algebras. By a refinement of symbol calculus we review a new characterization of the wave front set for generalized functions with applications to microlocal analysis.
Let L=-Δ+V(x) be a Schrodinger operator, where Δ is the Laplacian on while nonnegative potential V(x) belonging to the reverse Holder class. We establish the boundedness of the commutators of Marcinkiewicz integrals with rough kernel associated with Schrodinger operator on vanishing generalized Morrey spaces.
Let $M_{Ω,\a}$ and $I_{Ω,\a}$ be the fractional maximal and integral operators with rough kernels, where $0 < \a < n$. In this paper, we shall study the continuity properties of $M_{Ω,\a}$ and $I_{Ω,\a}$ on the generalized local Morrey spaces $LM_{p,φ}^{x_0}$. The boundedness of their commutators with local Campanato functions is also obtained.
We consider nuclear function spaces on which the Weyl-Heisenberg group acts continuously and study the basic properties of the twisted convolution product of the functions with the dual space elements. The final theorem characterizes the corresponding algebra of convolution multipliers and shows that it contains all sufficiently rapidly decreasing functionals in the dual space. Consequently, we obtain a general description of the Moyal multiplier algebra of the Fourier-transformed space. The results extend the Weyl symbol calculus beyond the traditional framework of tempered distributions.
We elucidate the relation between the two ways of formulating causality in nonlocal quantum field theory: using analytic test functions belonging to the space $S^0$ (which is the Fourier transform of the Schwartz space $\mathcal D$) and using test functions in the Gelfand-Shilov spaces $S^0_α$. We prove that every functional defined on $S^0$ has the same carrier cones as its restrictions to the smaller spaces $S^0_α$. As an application of this result, we derive a Paley-Wiener-Schwartz-type theorem for arbitrarily singular generalized functions of tempered growth and obtain the corresponding ex…
In this paper we study the variational problem associated to support vector regression in Banach function spaces. Using the Fenchel-Rockafellar duality theory, we give explicit formulation of the dual problem as well as of the related optimality conditions. Moreover, we provide a new computational framework for solving the problem which relies on a tensor-kernel representation. This analysis overcomes the typical difficulties connected to learning in Banach spaces. We finally present a large class of tensor-kernels to which our theory fully applies: power series tensor kernels. This type of ke…
