In this paper we consider power and trigonometric series whose coefficients are supposed to satisfy the Hausdorff conditions, which play a relevant role in the moment problem theory. We prove that these series converge to functions analytic in cut domains. We are then able to reconstruct the jump functions across the cuts from the coefficients of the series expansions by the use of the Pollaczek polynomials. We can thus furnish a solution for a class of Cauchy integral equations.
The aim of this paper is to characterize the nonnegative functions $φ$ defined on $(0,\infty)$ for which the Hausdorff operator $$\mathscr H_φf(z)= \int_0^\infty f\left(\frac{z}{t}\right)\frac{φ(t)}{t}dt$$ is bounded on the Hardy spaces of the upper half-plane $\mathcal H_a^p(\mathbb C_+)$, $p\in[1,\infty]$. The corresponding operator norms and their applications are also given.
Using well-known techniques, we establish Hardy-Littlewood-type and Hausdorff-Young-type inequalities for generalized Gegenbauer expansions and their unification.
In this paper, we prove the boundedness of matrix Hausdorff operators and rough Hausdorff operators in the two weighted Herz-type Hardy spaces associated with both power weights and Muckenhoupt weights. By applying the fact that the standard infinite atomic decomposition norm on two weighted Herz-type Hardy spaces is equivalent to the finite atomic norm on some dense subspaces of them, we generalize some previous known results due to Chen et al. [7] and Ruan, Fan [34].
Let $φ$ be a nonnegative integrable function on $(0,\infty)$. It is well-known that the Hausdorff operator $\mathcal H_φ$ generated by $φ$ is bounded on the real Hardy space $H^1(\mathbb R)$. The aim of this paper is to give the exact norm of $\mathcal H_φ$. More precisely, we prove that $$\|\mathcal H_φ\|_{H^1(\mathbb R)\to H^1(\mathbb R)}= \int_0^\infty φ(t)dt.$$
This paper is served as a first contribution regarding the boundedness of Hausdorff operators on function spaces with smoothness. The sharp conditions are established for boundedness of Hausdorff operators on Sobolev spaces $W^{k,1}$. As applications, some bounded and unbounded properties of Hardy operator and adjoint Hardy operator on $W^{k,1}$ are deduced.
For a wide family of multivariate Hausdorff operators, a new stronger condition for the boundedness of an operator from this family on the real Hardy space $H^1$ by means of atomic decomposition.
This paper deals with the inequalities devoted to the comparison between the norm of a function on a compact hypergroup and the norm of its Fourier coefficients. We prove the classical Paley inequality in the setting of compact hypergroups which further gives the Hardy-Littlewood and Hausdorff-Young-Paley (Pitt) inequalities in the noncommutative context. We establish Hörmander's $L^p$-$L^q$ Fourier multiplier theorem on compact hypergroups for $1<p \leq 2 \leq q<\infty$ as an application of Hausdorff-Young-Paley inequality. We examine our results for the hypergroups constructed from the conju…
For functions $f$ whose Taylor coefficients at the origin form a Hausdorff moment sequence we study the behaviour of $w(y):=|f(γ+iy)|$ for $y>0$ ($γ\leq1$ fixed).
The paper treats several aspects of the truncated matricial $[α,β]$-Hausdorff type moment problems. It is shown that each $[α,β]$-Hausdorff moment sequence has a particular intrinsic structure. More precisely, each element of this sequence varies within a closed bounded matricial interval. The case that the corresponding moment coincides with one of the endpoints of the interval plays a particular important role. This leads to distinguished molecular solutions of the truncated matricial $[α,β]$-Hausdorff moment problem, which satisfy some extremality properties. The proofs are mainly of algebr…
We study the fixed point for a non-linear transformation in the set of Hausdorff moment sequences, defined by the formula: $T((a_n))_n=1/(a_0+... +a_n)$. We determine the corresponding measure $μ$, which has an increasing and convex density on $]0,1[$, and we study some analytic functions related to it. The Mellin transform $F$ of $μ$ extends to a meromorphic function in the whole complex plane. It can be characterized in analogy with the Gamma function as the unique log-convex function on $]-1,\infty[$ satisfying $F(0)=1$ and the functional equation $1/F(s)=1/F(s+1)-F(s+1), s>-1$.
In a previous paper we considered a positive function f, uniquely determined for s>0 by the requirements f(1)=1, log(1/f) is convex and the functional equation f(s)=psi(f(s+1)) with psi(s)=s-1/s. We prove that the meromorphic extension of f to the whole complex plane is given by the formula f(z)=lim_{n\to\infty}psi^{\circ n}(lambda_n(lambda_{n+1}/lambda_n)^z), where the numbers lambda_n are defined by lambda_0=0 and the recursion lambda_{n+1}=(1/2)(lambda_n+sqrt{lambda_n^2+4}). The numbers m_n=1/lambda_{n+1} form a Hausdorff moment sequence of a probability measure μsuch that \int t^{z-1}dμ(t)…
We consider the explicit relation between two resolvent matrices related to the truncated Hausdorff matrix moment problem (THMM) in the case of an even and odd number of moments. This relation is described with the help of four families of orthogonal matrix polynomials on the finite interval $[a,b]$ and their associated second kind polynomials.
We develop the algebraic instance of an algorithmic approach to the matricial Hausdorff moment problem on a compact interval $[α,β]$ of the real axis. Our considerations are along the lines of the classical Schur algorithm and the treatment of the Hamburger moment problem on the real axis by Nevanlinna. More precisely, a transformation of matrix sequences is constructed, which transforms Hausdorff moment sequences into Hausdorff moment sequences reduced by 1 in length. It is shown that this transformation corresponds essentially to the left shift of the associated sequences of canonical moment…
In this paper we study moment sequences of matrix-valued measures on compact intervals. A complete parametrization of such sequences is obtained via a symmetric version of matricial canonical moments. Furthermore, distinguished extensions of finite moment sequences are characterized in this framework. The results are applied to the underlying matrix-valued measures, generalizing some results from the scalar theory of canonical moments.
We show that the transformation (x_n)_{n\ge 1}\to (1/(1+x_1+...+x_n))_{n\ge 1} of the compact set of sequences (x_n)_{n\ge 1} of numbers from the unit interval [0,1] has a unique fixed point, which is attractive. The fixed point turns out to be a Hausdorff moment sequence studied in papers by Berg and Durán in 2008.
We obtain a new multiplicative decomposition of the resolvent matrix of the truncated Hausdorff matrix moment (THMM) problem in the case of an odd and even number of moments via new Dyukarev-Stieltjes matrix (DSM) parameters. Explicit interrelations between new DSM parameters and orthogonal matrix polynomials on a finite interval $[a,b]$, as well as the Schur complements of the block Hankel matrices constructed through the moments of the THMM problem are given. Additionally, the extremal solutions of the THMM problem are represented via matrix continued fractions in terms of the DSM parameters…
The main goal of this paper is to achieve a parametrization of the solution set of the truncated matricial Hausdorff moment problem in the non-degenerate and degenerate situation. We treat the even and the odd cases simultaneously. Our approach is based on Schur analysis methods. More precisely, we use two interrelated versions of Schur-type algorithms, namely an algebraic one and a function-theoretic one. The algebraic version, worked out in our former paper arXiv:1908.05115, is an algorithm which is applied to finite or infinite sequences of complex matrices. The construction and discussion …
Let $p\in[1,\infty]$, $q\in[1,\infty)$, $s\in\mathbb{Z}_+:=\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\}$, and $α\in\mathbb{R}$. In this article, the authors first find a reasonable version $\widetilde{I}_β$ of the (generalized) fractional integral $I_β$ on the special John--Nirenberg--Campanato space via congruent cubes, $JN_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, which coincides with the Campanato space $\mathcal{C}_{α,q,s}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ when $p=\infty$. To this end, the authors introduce the vanishing moments up to order $s$ of $I_β$. Then the authors prove that $\widetilde{I}_β$ is bounded from $JN_{(p,q,s)_α}^…
The present paper is devoted to the {\it local moment problem}, which consists in finding of non-decreasing functions on the real axis having given first $2n+1, \; n\geq 0,$ power moments on the whole axis and also $2m+1$ first power moments on a certain finite axis interval. Considering the local moment problem as a combination of the Hausdorff and Hamburger truncated moment problems we obtain the conditions of its solvability and describe the class of its solutions with minimal number of growth points if the problem is solvable.
