Mirror symmetry, Kobayashi's duality, and Saito's duality

M. Kobayashi introduced a notion of duality of weight systems. We tone this notion slightly down to a notion called coupling. We show that coupling induces a relation between the reduced zeta functions of the monodromy operators of the corresponding singularities generalizing an observation of K. Saito concerning Arnold's strange duality. We show that the weight systems of the mirror symmetric pairs of M. Reid's list of 95 families of Gorenstein K3 surfaces in weighted projective 3-spaces are strongly coupled. This includes Arnold's strange duality where the corresponding weight systems are strongly dual in Kobayashi's original sense. We show that the same is true for the extension of Arnold's strange duality found by the author and C. T. C. Wall.

Kobayashi non-hyperbolicity of Calabi-Yau manifolds via mirror symmetry

A compact complex manifold is Kobayashi non-hyperbolic if there exists an entire curve on it. Using mirror symmetry we establish that there are (possibly singular) elliptic or rational curves on any Calabi-Yau manifold $X$, whose mirror dual $\check X$ exists and is not "Hodge degenerate", therefore proving that $X$ is Kobayashi non-hyperbolic. We are not aware of any higher dimensional simply connected Calabi-Yau manifolds that satisfy the "Hodge degenerate" condition.

Categorical Saito theory, II: Landau-Ginzburg orbifolds

Let $W\in \mathbb{C}[x_1,\cdots,x_N]$ be an invertible polynomial with an isolated singularity at origin, and let $G\subset {\sf SL}_N\cap (\mathbb{C}^*)^N$ be a finite diagonal and special linear symmetry group of $W$. In this paper, we use the category ${\sf MF}_G(W)$ of $G$-equivariant matrix factorizations and its associated VSHS to construct a $G$-equivariant version of Saito's theory of primitive forms. Landau-Ginzburg Mirror Symmetry Conjecture

We prove the Landau-Ginzburg mirror symmetry conjecture between invertible quasi-homogeneous polynomial singularities at all genera. That is, we show that the FJRW theory (LG A-model) of such a polynomial is equivalent to the Saito-Givental theory (LG B-model) of the mirror polynomial.

Three constructions of Frobenius manifolds: a comparative study

The paper studies three classes of Frobenius manifolds: Quantum Cohomology (topological sigma-models), unfolding spaces of singularities (K. Strange duality and polar duality

We describe a relation between Arnold's strange duality and a polar duality between the Newton polytopes which is mostly due to M.~Kobayashi. We show that this relation continues to hold for the extension of Arnold's strange duality found by C.~T.~C.~Wall and the author. By a method of Ehlers-Varchenko, the characteristic polynomial of the monodromy of a hypersurface singularity can be computed from the Newton diagram. Hodge-Theoretic Mirror Symmetry for Toric Stacks

Using the mirror theorem [CCIT15], we give a Landau-Ginzburg mirror description for the big equivariant quantum cohomology of toric Deligne-Mumford stacks. More precisely, we prove that the big equivariant quantum D-module of a toric Deligne-Mumford stack is isomorphic to the Saito structure associated to the mirror Landau-Ginzburg potential. We give a GKZ-style presentation of the quantum D-module, and a combinatorial description of quantum cohomology as a quantum Stanley-Reisner ring. Mirror Symmetry for open r-spin invariants

We show that a generating function for open $r$-spin enumerative invariants produces a universal unfolding of the polynomial $x^r$. Further, the coordinates parametrizing this universal unfolding are flat coordinates on the Frobenius manifold associated to the Landau-Ginzburg model $(\mathbb{C},x^r)$ via Saito-Givental theory. This result provides evidence for the same phenomenon to occur in higher dimension, proven in a sequel paper.

Lagrangian Floer theory and mirror symmetry on compact toric manifolds

In this paper we study Lagrangian Floer theory on toric manifolds from the point of view of mirror symmetry. We construct a natural isomorphism between the Frobenius manifold structures of the (big) quantum cohomology of the toric manifold and of Saito's theory of singularities of the potential function constructed in \cite{fooo09} via the Floer cohomology deformed by ambient cycles. Our proof of the isomorphism involves the open-closed Gromov-Witten theory of one-loop.

On Matrix Factorizations, Residue Pairings and Homological Mirror Symmetry

We argue how boundary B-type Landau-Ginzburg models based on matrix factorizations can be used to compute exact superpotentials for intersecting D-brane configurations on compact Calabi-Yau spaces. In this paper, we consider the dependence of open-string, boundary changing correlators on bulk moduli. This determines, via mirror symmetry, non-trivial disk instanton corrections in the A-model. Mirror symmetry for exceptional unimodular singularities

In this paper, we prove the mirror symmetry conjecture between the Saito-Givental theory of exceptional unimodular singularities on Landau-Ginzburg B-side and the Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory of their mirror partners on Landau-Ginzburg A-side. On the B-side, we compute the genus-zero generating function from a perturbative formula of primitive forms introduced by the first three authors recently. Gromov--Witten invariants for mirror orbifolds of simple elliptic singularities

We consider a mirror symmetry of simple elliptic singularities. In particular, we construct isomorphisms of Frobenius manifolds among the one from the Gromov--Witten theory of a weighted projective line, the one from the theory of primitive forms for a universal unfolding of a simple elliptic singularity and the one from the invariant theory for an elliptic Weyl group. As a consequence, we give a geometric interpretation of the Fourier coefficients of an eta product considered by K. Saito.

Gromov-Witten Theory of Quotient of Fermat Calabi-Yau varieties

We construct a global B-model for weighted homogeneous polynomials based on K. Saito's theory of primitive forms. Our main motivation is to give a rigorous statement of the so called global mirror symmetry conjecture relating Gromov-Witten invariants and Fan--Jarvis--Ruan--Witten invariants. Furthermore, our construction allows us to generalize the notion of a quasi-modular form and holomorphic anomaly equations. Finally, we prove the global mirror symmetry conjecture for the Fermat polynomials.

This article is a survey of a series of papers [FOOO3,FOOO4,FOOO5] in which we developed the method of calculation of Floer cohomology of Lagrangian torus orbits in compact toric manifolds, and its applications to symplectic topology and to mirror symmetry. By a famous result of K. Saito, the parameter space of the miniversal deformation of the $A_{r-1}$-singularity carries a Frobenius manifold structure. Global mirror symmetry for invertible simple elliptic singularities

A simple elliptic singularity of type $E_N^{(1,1)}$ ($N=6,7,8$) can be described in terms of a marginal deformation of an invertible polynomial $W$.
