If $F$ is a polynomial with complex coefficients, leading term $a_N$, and roots $α_1$, ..., $α_N$, then Gonçalves' inequality states that $\|F\|_2^2$ is bounded below by $\abs{a_N}^2 (\prod_{n=1}^N \max\{1, \abs{α_n}^2\} + \prod_{n=1}^N \min\{1, \abs{α_n}^2\})$. We establish generalizations of this inequality for other $L_p$ norms, and derive additional lower bounds on the $L_p$ norms of a polynomial in terms of its coefficients.
In this article we show a tecnique based on the Weierstrass product for the sine and cosine function and the bisection formula for the cotangent function that leads to a generalization of the classical Shafer-Fink inequality $ \frac{3 x}{1+2\sqrt{1+x^2}} < \arctan x < \frac{πx}{1+2\sqrt{1+x^2}}$. Other algebraic approximations are also shown, including one that follows from the Chebyshev expansion for the arctangent function in the interval $[-1,1]$.
In this paper we obtain some essential generalizations of certain Ramachandra's inequality, i. e. we obtain new lower estimates for the energies of some complicated signals generated by the Riemann zeta-function on the critical line.
In a generalization of the classical Hilbert inequality by Hardy, Littlewood and Pólya, the best constant for an inequality is determined provided that the generating function for the corresponding matrix satisfies certain monotonicity condition. In this paper, we determine the best constant for a class of inequalities when the monotonicity condition is no longer satisfied.
In literature the Hermite-Hadamard inequality was eligible for many reasons, one of the most surprising and interesting that the Hermite-Hadamard inequality combine the midpoint and trapezoid formulae in an inequality. In this work, a Hermite-Hadamard like inequality that combines the composite trapezoid and composite midpoint formulae is proved. So that, the classical Hermite-Hadamard inequality becomes a special case of the presented result. Some Ostrowski's type inequalities for convex functions are proved as well.
In this paper we give some sharper refinements and generalizations of inequalities related to Shafer's inequality for the arctangent function, stated in Theorems 1, 2 and 4 in [1], by C. Mortici and H.M. Srivastava.
In this article we give some improvements and generalizations of the famous Jensen's and Jensen-Mercer inequalities for twice differentiable functions, where convexity property of the target function is not assumed in advance. They represents a refinement of these inequalities in the case of convex/concave functions with numerous applications in Theory of Means and Probability and Statistics.
In this paper, by a concise and elementary approach, we sharpen and generalize Shafer's inequality for the arc sine function, and some known results are extended and generalized.
We introduce the multivariate analogue of the well known inequality $1+x\leq \mathrm{e}^x$, for an abstract non negative real number $x$. The result emerges from the study of the blow up time of certain solutions of the Cauchy problem for a particular ODE. It is also closely related to the notion of completely monotone functions and the theory of divided differences.
This paper is devoted to a generalization of a Hadamard type inequality for the permanent of a complex square matrix. Our proof is based on a non-trivial extension of a technique used in Carlen, Lieb and Loss (Methods and Applications of Analysis 13 (1) (2006) 1-17). We give an application to coefficients of products of linear forms and show some auxiliary inequalities, which might be of independent interest.
In this paper, we will improve and generalize inequality of Ostrowski type for mappings whose second derivatives belong to L$_{1}\left(a,b\right) $ . Some well known inequalities can be derived as special cases. In addition, perturbed mid-point inequality and perturbed trapezoid inequality are also obtained. The obtained inequalities have immediate applications in numerical integration where new estimates are obtained for the remainder term of the trapezoid and midpoint formula. Applications to some special means are also investigated.
We give an alternative proof of a sharp generalization of an integral inequality for the dyadic maximal operator due to which the evaluation of the Bellman function of this operator with respect to two variables, is possible. This last mentioned inequality, which was first noticed in [3],also generalizes in a certain direction the results of [7].
Extensions and generalizations of Alzer's inequality; which is of Wirtinger type are proved. As applications, sharp trapezoid type inequality and sharp bound for the geometric mean are deduced.
In this work, a generalization of the well known Bernoulli inequality is obtained by using the theory of discrete fractional calculus. As far as we know our approach is novel.
We study functional inequality of the form $$|T(f,h)-T(f,g)T(g,h)| \leq F(f,g)F(g,h) -F(f,h)$$ where $T$ is a complex-valued functional and $F$ is a real-valued map. Motivation for our studies comes from some generalizations of Grüss inequality.
We use the definition of a fractional integral, recently proposed by Katugampola, to establish a generalization of the reverse Minkowski's inequality. We show two new theorems associated with this inequality, as well as state and show other inequalities related to this fractional operator.
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for Borel measures to satisfy the inequality introduced by Komisarski, Rajba (2018). This inequality is a generalization of the convex order inequality for binomial distributions, which was proved by Mrowiec, Rajba, Wąsowicz (2017), as a probabilistic version of the inequality for convex functions, that was conjectured as an old open problem by I.~Raşa. We present also further generalizations using convex order inequalities between convolution polynomials of finite Borel measures. We generalize recent results obtained by B.~Gavrea (2018) in the discr…
In this paper, using a fractional integral as proposed by Katugampola we establish a generalization of integral inequalities of Gruss-type. We prove two theorems associated with these inequalities and then immediately we enunciate and prove others inequalities associated with these fractional operator.
The goal of this review is to explain some recent results regarding generalizations of the Stein-Tomas (and Strichartz) inequalities to the context of trace ideals (Schatten spaces).
In this paper, we introduce and prove the generalizations of Radon inequality. The proofs in the paper unify and are simpler than those in former work. Meanwhile, we also find mathematical equivalences among the Bernoulli inequality, the weighted AM-GM inequality, the Hölder inequality, the weighted power mean inequality and the Minkowski inequality. Finally, a series of the applications are shown in this note.
