Cluster algebras were introduced by S. Fomin and A. Zelevinsky in math.RT/0104151; their study continued in math.RA/0208229, math.RT/0305434. This is a family of commutative rings designed to serve as an algebraic framework for the theory of total positivity and canonical bases in semisimple groups and their quantum analogs. In this paper we introduce and study quantum deformations of cluster algebras.
In an attempt to create an algebraic framework for dual canonical bases and total positivity in semisimple groups, we initiate the study of a new class of commutative algebras.
This paper studies cluster algebras locally, by identifying a special class of localizations which are themselves cluster algebras. A `locally acyclic cluster algebra' is a cluster algebra which admits a finite cover (in a geometric sense) by acyclic cluster algebras. Many important results about acyclic cluster algebras extend to local acyclic cluster algebras (such as finite generation, integrally closure, and equaling their upper cluster algebra), as well as results which are new even for acyclic cluster algebras (such as regularity when the exchange matrix has full rank). We develop severa…
We provide a graded and quantum version of the category of rooted cluster algebras introduced by Assem, Dupont and Schiffler and show that every graded quantum cluster algebra of infinite rank can be written as a colimit of graded quantum cluster algebras of finite rank. As an application, for each k we construct a graded quantum infinite Grassmannian admitting a cluster algebra structure, extending an earlier construction of the authors for k=2.
We construct quantized versions of generic bases in quantum cluster algebras of finite and affine types. Under the specialization of $q$ and coefficients to 1, these bases are generic bases of finite and affine cluster algebras.
We study monoidal categorifications of certain monoidal subcategories $\mathcal{C}_J$ of finite-dimensional modules over quantum affine algebras, whose cluster algebra structures coincide and arise from the category of finite-dimensional modules over quiver Hecke algebra of type A${}_\infty$. In particular, when the quantum affine algebra is of type A or B, the subcategory coincides with the monoidal category $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ introduced by Hernandez-Leclerc. As a consequence, the modules corresponding to cluster monomials are real simple modules over quantum affine algebras.
We give a construction of generalized cluster varieties and generalized cluster scattering diagrams for reciprocal generalized cluster algebras, the latter of which were defined by Chekhov and Shapiro. These constructions are analogous to the structures given for ordinary cluster algebras in the work of Gross, Hacking, Keel, and Kontsevich. As a consequence of these constructions, we are also able to construct theta functions for generalized cluster algebras, again in the reciprocal case, and demonstrate a number of their structural properties.
This article is an extended version of the minicourse given by the second author at the summer school of the conference "Interactions of quantum affine algebras with cluster algebras, current algebras and categorification", held in June 2018 in Washington. The aim of the minicourse, consisting of three lectures, was to present a number of results and conjectures on certain monoidal categories of finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras, obtained by exploiting the fact that their Grothendieck rings have the natural structure of a cluster algebra.
We establish a quantum cluster algebra structure on the quantum Grothendieck ring of a certain monoidal subcategory of the category of finite-dimensional representations of a simply-laced quantum affine algebra. Moreover, the (q,t)-characters of certain irreducible representations, among which fundamental representations, are obtained as quantum cluster variables. This approach gives a new algorithm to compute these (q,t)-characters. As an application, we prove that the quantum Grothendieck ring of a larger category of representations of the Borel subalgebra of the quantum affine algebra, defi…
Generalized quantum cluster algebras introduced in [1] are quantum deformation of generalized cluster algebras of geometric types. In this paper, we prove that the Laurent phenomenon holds in these generalized quantum cluster algebras. We also show that upper bounds coincide with the corresponding generalized quantum upper cluster algebras under the "coprimality" condition.
Q-systems first appeared in the analysis of the Bethe equations for the XXX-model and generalized Heisenberg spin chains. Such systems are known to exist for any simple Lie algebra and many other Kac-Moody algebras. We formulate the Q-system associated with any simple, simply-laced Lie algebras g in the language of cluster algebras, and discuss the relation of the polynomiality property of the solutions of the $Q$-system in the initial variables, which follows from the representation-theoretical interpretation, to the Laurent phenomenon in cluster algebras.
Motivated by the phenomenon that compatible Poisson structures on a cluster algebra play a key role on its quantization (that is, quantum cluster algebra), we introduce the second quantization of a quantum cluster algebra, which means the correspondence between compatible Poisson structures of the quantum cluster algebra and its secondly quantized cluster algebras. Based on this observation, we find that a quantum cluster algebra possesses dual quantum cluster algebras such that their second quantization is essentially the same. As an example, we give the secondly quantized cluster algebra $A_…
We study quantum cluster algebras from unpunctured surfaces with arbitrary coefficients and quantization. We first give a new proof of the Laurent expansion formulas for commutative cluster algebras from unpunctured surfaces, we then give the quantum Laurent expansion formulas for the quantum cluster algebras. Particularly, this gives a combinatorial proof of the positivity for such class of quantum cluster algebras.
Let $A$ be the path algebra of a finite acyclic quiver $Q$ over a finite field. We realize the quantum cluster algebra with principal coefficients associated to $Q$ as a sub-quotient of a certain Hall algebra involving the category of morphisms between projective $A$-modules.
We study deformations of cluster algebras with several quantum parameters, called toroidal cluster algebras, which naturally appear in the study of Grothendieck rings of representations of quantum affine algebras. In this context, we construct toroidal Grothendieck rings and we establish these are flat deformations of Grothendieck rings. We prove that for a family of monoidal categories $\mathscr{C}_1$ of simply-laced quantum affine algebras categorifying finite-type cluster algebras, the toroidal Grothendieck ring has a natural structure of a toroidal cluster algebra.
We survey some recent constructions of cluster algebra structures on coordinate rings of unipotent subgroups and unipotent cells of Kac-Moody groups. We also review a quantized version of these results.
Let C be the category of finite-dimensional representations of a quantum affine algebra of simply-laced type. We introduce certain monoidal subcategories C_l (l integer) of C and we study their Grothendieck rings using cluster algebras.
Let $Q$ be a finite acyclic valued quiver. We give the cluster multiplication formulas in the quantum cluster algebra of $Q$ with arbitrary coefficients, by applying certain quotients of derived Hall subalgebras of $Q$. These formulas can be viewed as the quantum version of the cluster multiplication theorem in the classical cluster algebra proved by Caldero-Keller for finite type, Hubery for affine type and Xiao-Xu for acyclic quivers.
The objective of the present paper is to prove cluster multiplication theorem in the quantum cluster algebra of type $A_{2}^{(2)}$. As corollaries, we obtain bar-invariant $\mathbb{Z}[q^{\pm\frac{1}{2}}]$-bases established in [6], and naturally deduce the positivity of the elements in these bases. One bar-invariant basis as the triangular basis of this quantum cluster algebra is also explicitly described.
This is an introductory survey on cluster algebras and their (additive) categorification using derived categories of Ginzburg algebras. After a gentle introduction to cluster combinatorics, we review important examples of coordinate rings admitting a cluster algebra structure. We then present the general definition of a cluster algebra and describe the interplay between cluster variables, coefficients, c-vectors and g-vectors. We show how c-vectors appear in the study of quantum cluster algebras and their links to the quantum dilogarithm. We then present the framework of additive categorificat…
In \cite{rupel3},the authors defined algebra homomorphisms from the dual Ringel-Hall algebra of certain hereditary abelian category $\mathcal{A}$ to an appropriate $q$-polynomial algebra. In the case that $\mathcal{A}$ is the representation category of an acyclic quiver, we give an alternative proof by using the cluster multiplication formulas in \cite{DX}. Moreover, if the underlying graph of $Q$ is bipartite and the matrix $B$ associated to the quiver $Q$ is of full rank, we show that the image of the algebra homomorphisms is in the corresponding quantum cluster algebra.
We extend the definition of a quantum analogue of the Caldero-Chapoton map defined in \cite{rupel}. When $Q$ is a quiver of finite type, we prove that the algebra $\mathcal{AH}_{|k|}(Q)$ generated by all cluster characters (see Definition \ref{def}) is exactly the quantum cluster algebra $\mathcal{EH}_{|k|}(Q)$.
We prove a multiplication theorem for quantum cluster algebras of acyclic quivers. The theorem generalizes the multiplication formula for quantum cluster variables in \cite{fanqin}. We apply the formula to construct some $\mathbb{ZP}$-bases in quantum cluster algebras of finite and affine types. Under the specialization $q$ and coefficients to $1$, these bases are the integral bases of cluster algebra of finite and affine types (see \cite{CK1} and \cite{DXX}).
We prove that large classes of algebras in the framework of root of unity quantum cluster algebras have the structures of maximal orders in central simple algebras and Cayley-Hamilton algebras in the sense of Procesi. We show that every root of unity upper quantum cluster algebra is a maximal order and obtain an explicit formula for its reduced trace. Under mild assumptions, inside each such algebra we construct a canonical central subalgebra isomorphic to the underlying upper cluster algebra, such that the pair is a Cayley-Hamilton algebra; its fully Azumaya locus is shown to contain a copy o…
We define a quantum analogue of a class of generalized cluster algebras which can be viewed as a generalization of quantum cluster algebras defined in \cite{berzel}. In the case of rank two, we extend some structural results from the classical theory of generalized cluster algebras obtained in \cite{CS}\cite{rupel} to the quantum case.
We give the quantum Laurent expansion formula for the quantum cluster algebras from unpunctured orbifolds with arbitrary coefficients and quantization. As an application, positivity for such class of quantum cluster algebras is given. For technical reasons, it will always be assumed that the weights of the orbifold points are 2.
We compute the number of points over finite fields of some algebraic varieties related to cluster algebras of finite type. More precisely, these varieties are the fibers of the projection map from the cluster variety to the affine space of coefficients.
The article concerns the existence and uniqueness of quantisations of cluster algebras. We prove that cluster algebras with an initial exchange matrix of full rank admit a quantisation in the sense of Berenstein-Zelevinsky and give an explicit generating set to construct all quantisations.
A major direction in the theory of cluster algebras is to construct (quantum) cluster algebra structures on the (quantized) coordinate rings of various families of varieties arising in Lie theory. We prove that all algebras in a very large axiomatically defined class of noncommutative algebras possess canonical quantum cluster algebra structures. Furthermore, they coincide with the corresponding upper quantum cluster algebras. We also establish analogs of these results for a large class of Poisson nilpotent algebras. Many important families of coordinate rings are subsumed in the class we are …
We study generalized cluster algebras introduced by Chekhov and Shapiro. When the coefficients satisfy the normalization and quasi-reciprocity conditions, one can naturally extend the structure theory of seeds in the ordinary cluster algebras by Fomin and Zelevinsky to generalized cluster algebras. As the main result, we obtain formulas expressing cluster variables and coefficients in terms of c-vectors, g-vectors, and F-polynomials.
This is a continuation of developing mutation theory in exact WKB analysis using the framework of cluster algebras. Here we study the Schrodinger equation on a compact Riemann surface with turning points of simple-pole type. We show that the orbifold triangulations by Felikson, Shapiro, and Tumarkin provide a natural framework of describing the mutation of Stokes graphs, where simple poles correspond to orbifold points. We then show that under the mutation of Stokes graphs around simple poles the Voros symbols mutate as the variables of generalized cluster algebras introduced by Chekhov and Sh…
We introduce a quantisation of the Coxeter-Conway frieze patterns and prove that they realise quantum cluster variables in quantum cluster algebras associated with linearly oriented Dynkin quivers of type A. As an application, we obtain the explicit polynomials arising from the lower bound phenomenon in these quantum cluster algebras.
This is an extended abstract of my talk at the Oberwolfach-Workshop "Representation Theory of Finite-Dimensional Algebras" (February 6 - 12, 2005). It gives self-contained and simplified definitions of quantum cluster algebras introduced and studied in a joint work with A.Berenstein (math.QA/0404446).
We use Bonahon-Wong's trace map to study character varieties of the once-punctured torus and of the 4-punctured sphere. We clarify a relationship with cluster algebra associated with ideal triangulations of surfaces, and we show that the Goldman Poisson algebra of loops on surfaces is recovered from the Poisson structure of cluster algebra. It is also shown that cluster mutations give the automorphism of the character varieties. Motivated by a work of Chekhov-Mazzocco-Rubtsov, we revisit confluences of punctures on sphere from cluster algebraic viewpoint, and we obtain associated affine cubic …
