We show that for a natural polynomial Hamiltonian system the existence of a single Darboux polynomial (a partial polynomial first integral) is equivalent to the existence of an additional first integral functionally independent with the Hamiltonian function. Moreover, we show that, in a case when the degree of potential is odd, the system does not admit any proper Darboux polynomial, i.e., the only Darboux polynomials are first integrals.
In the literature, the existence of Darboux polynomials and additional polynomial first integrals has been considered in the case of Hamiltonian systems. In this article such problem is formulated in the more general framework of Poisson structures, which include Hamiltonian systems as a particular case. This generalization allows a natural extension of the previous results, which can now be applied to a larger class of vector fields and is valid for arbitrary diffeomorphisms (instead of canonical transformations). Examples are discussed.
We introduce GBDT version of Darboux transformation for symplectic and Hamiltonian systems as well as for Shin-Zettl systems and Sturm-Liouville equations. These are the first results on Darboux transformation for general-type Hamiltonian and for Shin-Zettl systems. The obtained results are applied to the corresponding transformations of the Weyl-Titchmarsh functions and to the construction of explicit solutions of dynamical symplectic systems, of two-way diffusion equations and of indefinite Sturm-Liouville equations. The energy of the explicit solutions of dynamical systems is expressed (in …
We study pseudo-Abelian integrals associated with polynomial deformations of slow-fast Darboux integrable systems. Under some assumptions we prove local boundedness of the number of their zeros.
We study the integrability in the Liouville sense of natural Hamiltonian systems with a homogeneous rational potential $V(\vq)$. Strong necessary conditions for the integrability of such systems were obtained by an analysis of differential Galois group of variational equations along certain particular solutions. These conditions have the form of arithmetic restrictions putted on eigenvalues of Hessian $V"(\vd)$ calculated at a non-zero solution $\vd$ of equation $\grad V(\vd)=\vd$. Such solutions are called proper Darboux points. It was recently proved that for generic polynomial homogeneous p…
We study the class of planar polynomial vector fields admitting Darboux first integrals of the type $\prod_{i=1}^r f_i^{α_i}$, where the $α_i$'s are positive real numbers and the $f_i$'s are polynomials defining curves with only one place at infinity. We show that these vector fields have an extended reduction procedure and give an algorithm which, from a part of the extended reduction of the vector field, computes a Darboux first integral for generic exponents.
This work is devoted to the establishment of a Poisson structure for a format of equations known as Generalized Lotka-Volterra systems. These equations, which include the classical Lotka-Volterra systems as a particular case, have been deeply studied in the literature. They have been shown to constitute a whole hierarchy of systems, the characterization of which is made in the context of simple algebra. Our main result is to show that this algebraic structure is completely translatable into the Poisson domain. Important Poisson structures features, such as the symplectic foliation and the Darb…
After the nice result introduced by Belotto in [1] concerning the local monomialization of a singular foliation given by n first integrals, this work is a continuation in the same spirit. In this paper, we introduce a important conjecture about local monomialization of a singular foliation of Darboux type (see section 1). This conjecture can be used to study pseudo-abelian integrals [2,4].
In this paper we consider the degeneracies of the third type. More exact, the perturbations of the Darboux integrable foliation with a triple point, i.e. the case where three of the curves $\{P_i = 0\}$ meet at one point, are considered. Assuming that this is the only non-genericity, we prove that the number of zeros of the corresponding pseudo-abelian integrals is bounded uniformly for close Darboux integrable foliations. Let $\mathcal{F}$ denote the foliation with triple point (assume it to be at the origin), and let $\mathcal{F}_λ= \{M_λ{dH_λ\over H_λ} = 0\}$, $M_λ$ is a integrating factor,…
Properties of partial integrals such as real and complex-valued polynomial, multiple polynomial, exponential, and conditional for ordinary differential systems are studied. The possibilities of constructing first integrals and last multipliers by known partial integrals are considered. Applications of partial integrals to solve the Darboux problem and to the extended Darboux problem are given. Integral basis of the Jacobi system is built. And the inverse problem of constructing differential systems on the base of their partial integrals is solved.
We obtain 21 two-dimensional natural Hamiltonian systems with sextic invariants, which are polynomial of the sixth order in momenta. Following to Bertrand, Darboux, and Drach these results of the standard brute force experiments can be applied to construct a new mathematical theory.
M.F. Singer [Liouvillian first integrals of differential equations, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 333 (1992), 673--688] proved the equivalence between Liouvillian integrability and Darboux integrability for two dimensional polynomial differential systems. In this paper we will extend Singer's result to any finite dimensional polynomial differential systems. We prove that if an n--dimensional polynomial differential system has n-1 functionally independent Darboux Jacobian multiplier then it has n-1 functionally independent Liouvillian first integrals. Conversely if the system is Liouvillian integrabl…
We consider an integrable polynomial system with generalized Darboux first integral H_0. We assume that it defines a family of real cycles in a region bounded by a polycycle. To any polynomial form ηone can associate the pseudo-abelian integrals I(h), which is the first order term of the displacement function of the system perturbed by η. We consider Darboux first integrals unfolding H_0 (and its saddle-nodes) and pseudo-abelian integrals associated to these unfoldings. Under genericity assumptions we show the existence of a uniform local bound for the number of zeros of these pseudo-abelian i…
In this article we show how to generalize to the Darbouxian, Liouvillian and Riccati case the extactic curve introduced by J. Pereira. With this approach, we get new algorithms for computing, if it exists, a rational, Darbouxian, Liouvillian or Riccati first integral with bounded degree of a polynomial planar vector field. We give probabilistic and deterministic algorithms. The arithmetic complexity of our probabilistic algorithm is in $\tilde{\mathcal{O}}(N^{ω+1})$, where $N$ is the bound on the degree of a representation of the first integral and $ω\in [2;3]$ is the exponent of linear algebr…
Consider a planar polynomial vector field $X$, and assume it admits a symbolic first integral $\mathcal{F}$, i.e. of the $4$ classes, in growing complexity: Rational, Darbouxian, Liouvillian and Riccati. If $\mathcal{F}$ is not rational, it is sometimes possible to reduce it to a simpler class first integral. We will present algorithms to reduce symbolic first integral to a lower complexity class. These algorithms allow to find the minimal class first integral and in particular to test the existence of a rational first integral except in the case where $\mathcal{F}$ is a $k$-Darbouxian first i…
We consider a multivalued function of the form $H\_{\varepsilon}=P\_{\varepsilon}^{α\_0}\prod^{k}\_{i=1}P\_i^{α\_i}, P\_i\in\mathbb{R}[x,y], α\_i\in\mathbb{R}^{\ast}\_+$, which is a Darboux first integral of polynomial one-form $ω=M\_{\varepsilon}\frac{dH\_{\varepsilon}}{H\_{\varepsilon}}=0, M\_{\varepsilon}=P\_{\varepsilon}\prod^{k}\_{i=1}P\_i$. We assume, for $\varepsilon=0$, that the polycyle $\{H\_0=H=0\}$ has only cuspidal singularity which we assume at the origin and other singularities are saddles. We consider families of Darboux first integrals unfolding $H\_{\varepsilon}$ (and its cus…
In this paper, we characterize all the irreducible Darboux polynomials and polynomial first integrals of FitzHugh-Nagumo (F-N) system. The method of the weight homogeneous polynomials and the characteristic curves is widely used to give a complete classification of Darboux polynomials of a system. However, this method does not work for F-N system. Here by considering the Darboux polynomials of an assistant system associated to F-N system, we classified the invariant algebraic surfaces of F-N system. Our results show that there is no invariant algebraic surface of F-N system in the biological p…
In this note we prove that an analytic symplectic action of a semisimple Lie algebra can be locally linearized in Darboux coordinates. This result yields simultaneous analytic linearization for Hamiltonian vector fields in a neighbourhood of a common zero. We also provide an example of smooth non-linearizable Hamiltonian action with semisimple linear part. The smooth analogue only holds if the semisimple Lie algebra is of compact type. An analytic equivariant b-Darboux theorem for b-Poisson manifolds and an analytic equivariant Weinstein splitting theorem for general Poisson manifolds are also…
We extend the Eruguin result exposed in the paper "Construction of the whole set of ordinary differential equations with a given integral curve" published in 1952 and construct a differential system in $\Bbb{R}^N$ which admits a given set of the partial integrals, in particular we study the case when theses functions are polynomials. We construct a non-Darboux integrable planar polynomial system of degree $n$ with one invariant irreducible algebraic curve $g(x,y)=0$. For this system we analyze the Darboux integrability, Poincare's problem and 16th's Hilbert problem for algebraic limit cycles.
In three dimensions, the construction of bi-Hamiltonian structure can be reduced to the solutions of a Riccati equation with the arclength coordinate of a Frenet-Serret frame being the independent variable. Explicit integration of conserved quantities are connected with the coefficients of Riccati equation which are elements of the third cohomology class. All explicitly constructed examples of bi-Hamiltonian systems are exhausted when this class along with the first one vanishes. The latter condition provides integrating factor for explicit integration of Hamiltonian functions. For the Darboux…
We focus on a chaotic differential system in 3-dimension, including an absolute term and a line of equilibrium points. Which describes in the following This system has an implementation in electronic components. The first purpose of this paper is to provide sufficient conditions for the existence of a limit cycle bifurcating from the zeroHopf equilibrium point located at the origin of the coordinates. The second aim is to study the integrability of each differential system, one defined in half-space y and the other in half-space y. We prove that these two systems have no polynomial, rational, …
Lotka-Volterra model is one of the most popular in biochemistry. It is used to analyze cooperativity, autocatalysis, synchronization at large scale and especially oscillatory behavior in biomolecular interactions. These phenomena are in close relationship with the existence of first integrals in this model. In this paper we determine the independent first integrals of a family of $n$--dimensional Lotka-Volterra systems. We prove that when $n=3$ and $n=4$ the system is completely integrable. When $n\geq6$ is even, there are three independent first integrals, while when $n\geq5$ is odd there exi…
