This paper provides results on the modular representation theory of the supergroup $GL(m|n).$ Working over a field of arbitrary characteristic, we prove that the explicit combinatorics of certain crystal graphs describe the representation theory of a modular analogue of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category $\mathcal{O}$. In particular, we obtain a linkage principle and describe the effect of certain translation functors on irreducible supermodules. Furthermore, our approach accounts for the fact that $GL(m|n)$ has non-conjugate Borel subgroups and we show how Serganova's odd reflections give rise to canonical crystal isomorphisms.
Let $B(Λ_0)$ be the level 1 highest weight crystal of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(A_n^{(1)})$. We construct an explicit crystal isomorphism between the geometric realization $\mathbb{B}(Λ_0)$ of $B(Λ_0)$ via quiver varieties and the path realization ${\mathcal P}^{\rm ad}(Λ_0)$ of $B(Λ_0)$ arising from the adjoint crystal $\adjoint$.
Let $\mathbf{B}(V)$ be the admissible unitary $GL_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$-representation associated to two dimensional crystalline Galois representation $V$ by $p$-adic Langlands constructed by Breuil. Berger and Breuil conjectured an explicit description of the locally analytic vectors $\mathbf{B}(V)_{\mathrm{la}}$ of $\mathbf{B}(V)$ which is now proved by Liu. Emerton recently studied $p$-adic representations from the viewpoint of rigid analytic geometry. In this article, we consider certain rigid analytic subgroups of $GL(2)$ and give an explicit description of the rigid analytic vectors in $\math…
We introduce a non-symmetric tensor product of representations of UHF algebras by using Kronecker products of matrices. We prove tensor product formulae of GNS representations by product states and show examples.
We use fermionic representations to obtain a class of BC$_{{}_{\text N}}$-graded Lie algebras coordinatized by quantum tori with nontrivial central extensions.
In this paper we show that there is a link between the combinatorics of the canonical basis of a quantized enveloping algebra and the monomial bases of the second author arising from representations of quivers. We prove that some reparametrization functions of the canonical basis, arising from the link between Lusztig's approach to the canonical basis and the string parametrization of the canonical basis, are given on a large region of linearity by linear functions arising from these monomial basis for a quantized enveloping algebra.
We describe poles and the corresponding residual automorphic representations of Eisenstein series attached to maximal parabolic subgroups whose unipotent radicals admit Jordan algebra structure.
The present paper proves a $q$-identity, which arises from a representation $π_{N,ψ}$ of $\text{GL}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$. This identity gives a significant simplification for the dimension of $π_{N,ψ}$, which allowed the second author to obtain a description of the representation.
We present an extremely elementary construction of the simple Lie algebras over the complex numbers in all of their minuscule representations, using the vertices of various polytopes. The construction itself requires no complicated combinatorics and essentially no Lie theory other than the definition of a Lie algebra; in fact, the Lie algebras themselves appear as by-products of the construction.
In this paper we determine the representation type of some algebras of infinite matrices continuously controlled at infinity by a compact metrizable space. We explicitly classify their finitely presented modules in the finite and tame cases. The algebra of row-column-finite (or locally finite) matrices over an arbitrary field is one of the algebras considered in this paper, its representation type is shown to be finite.
A Lie theoretic interpretation is given for some formulas of Schur functions and Schur $Q$-functions. Two realizations of the basic representation of the Lie algebra $A^{(2)}_2$ are considered; one is on the fermionic Fock space and the other is on the bosonic polynomial space. Via the boson-fermion correspondence, simple relations of the vacuum expectation values of fermions turn out to be algebraic relations of Schur functions.
The purpose of the present paper is to investigate a hypergroup arising from irreducible characters of a compact group G and a closed subgroup of G with finite index. The convolution of this hypergroup is introduced by inducing irreducible representations and by restricting irreducible representations. The method of proof relies on character formulae of induced representations of compact groups and of Frobenius' reciprocity theorem.
We define two classes of representations of quivers over arbitrary fields, called monomorphic representations and epimorphic representations. We show that every representation has a unique maximal nilpotent subrepresentation and the associated quotient is always monomorphic, and every representation has a unique maximal epimorphic subrepresentation and the associated quotient is always nilpotent. The uniquenesses of such subrepresenations imply two identities in the Ringel-Hall algebra. By applying Reineke's integration map, we obtain two identities in the corresponding quantum torus.
This dissertation addresses several current problems in Representation Theory using crystal bases. It incorporates the results of arXiv:math.QA/0408113 and arXiv:math.RT/0603547, as well as previously unpublished results.
We show that the universal unitary completion of certain locally algebraic representation of $G:=\GL_2(\Qp)$ with $p>2$ is non-zero, topologically irreducible, admissible and corresponds to a 2-dimensional crystalline representation with non-semisimple Frobenius via the $p$-adic Langlands correspondence for $G$.
We prove pairwise disjointness of representations T_{z,w} of the infinite-dimensional unitary group. These representations provide a natural generalization of the regular representation for the case of "big" group U(\infty). They were introduced and studied by G.Olshanski and A.Borodin. Disjointness of the representations can be reduced to disjointness of certain probability measures on the space of paths in the Gelfand-Tsetlin graph. We prove the latter disjointness using probabilistic and combinatorial methods.
A general Mackey type decomposition for representations of semisimple Hopf algebras is investigated. We show that such a decomposition occurs in the case that the module is induced from an arbitrary Hopf subalgebra and it is restricted back to a group subalgebra. Some other examples when such a decomposition occurs are also constructed. They arise from gradings on the category of corepresentations of a semisimple Hopf algebra and provide new examples of Green functors in the literature.
We compare crystal combinatorics of the level 2 Fock space with the classification of unitary irreducible representations of type B rational Cherednik algebras to study how unitarity behaves under parabolic restriction. First, we show that any finite-dimensional unitary irreducible representation of such an algebra is labeled by a bipartition consisting of a rectangular partition in one component and the empty partition in the other component. This is a new proof of a result that can be deduced from theorems of Montarani and Etingof-Stoica. Second, we show that the crystal operators that remov…
We present a uniform construction of level 1 perfect crystals $\mathcal B$ for all affine Lie algebras. We also introduce the notion of a crystal algebra and give an explicit description of its multiplication. This allows us to determine the energy function on $\mathcal B \otimes \mathcal B$ completely and thereby give a path realization of the basic representations at $q=0$ in the homogeneous picture.
We present a complete acyclic matching of the Hasse diagram associated with the face lattice of a hypersimplex. Since a hypersimplex is a convex polytope, there is a natural way to form a CW complex from its faces. We will then utilize this matching along with discrete Morse theory and some topological techniques to classify every subcomplex whose reduced homology groups are concentrated in a single degree. These reduced homology groups support a natural action of the symmetric group and a description of the characters that this action produces is given.
We give a complete classification of all algebras appearing as endomorphism algebras of maximal rigid objects in standard 2-Calabi-Yau categories of finite type. Such categories are equivalent to certain orbit categories of derived categories of Dynkin algebras. It turns out that with one exception, all the algebras that occur are $2$-Calabi-Yau-tilted, and therefore appear in an earlier classification by Bertani-Økland and Oppermann. We explain this phenomenon by investigating the subcategories generated by rigid objects in standard 2-Calabi-Yau categories of finite type.
In a previous work (arXiv:0806.1503v2), we defined a family of subcomplexes of the $n$-dimensional half cube by removing the interiors of all half cube shaped faces of dimension at least $k$, and we proved that the homology of such a subcomplex is concentrated in degree $k-1$. This homology group supports a natural action of the Coxeter group $W(D_n)$ of type $D$. In this paper, we explicitly determine the characters (over ${\Bbb C}$) of these homology representations, which turn out to be multiplicity free. Regarded as representations of the symmetric group $S_n$ by restriction, the homology …
We investigate analogs of symmetric functions arising from an extension of the nilHecke algebra defined by Naisse and Vaz. These extended symmetric functions form a subalgebra of the polynomial ring tensored with an exterior algebra. We define families of bases for this algebra and show that it admits a family of differentials making it a sub-DG-algebra of the extended nilHecke algebra. The ring of extended symmetric functions equipped with this differential is quasi-isomorphic to the cohomology of a Grassmannian. We also introduce new deformed differentials on the extended nilHecke algebra th…
The Jacobian algebra arising from a consistent dimer model is a bimodule $3$-Calabi-Yau algebra, and its center is a $3$-dimensional Gorenstein toric singularity. A perfect matching of a dimer model gives the degree making the Jacobian algebra $\mathbb{Z}$-graded. It is known that if the degree zero part of such an algebra is finite dimensional, then it is a $2$-representation infinite algebra which is a generalization of a representation infinite hereditary algebra. Internal perfect matchings, which correspond to toric exceptional divisors on a crepant resolution of a $3$-dimensional Gorenste…
Following a procedure due to V. Jones, using suitably normalized elements in a Temperley-Lieb-Jones (planar) algebra we introduce a 3-parametric family of unitary representations of the Thompson's group $F$ equipped with canonical (vacuum) vectors and study some of their properties. In particular, we discuss the behaviour at infinity of their matrix coefficients, thus showing that these representations do not contain any finite type component. We then focus on a particular representation known to be quasi-regular and irreducible and show that it is inequivalent to itself once composed with a c…
