We show that the finite-dimensional fundamental module over a quantized affine algebra is isomorphic to a Demazure module of a higest weight module of level one as a module over a quantized classical universal enveloping algebra.
We study, in the path realization, crystals for Demazure modules of affine Lie algebras of types $A^{(1)}_n,B^{(1)}_n,C^{(1)}_n,D^{(1)}_n, A^{(2)}_{2n-1},A^{(2)}_{2n}, and D^{(2)}_{n+1}$. We find a special sequence of affine Weyl group elements for the selected perfect crystal, and show if the highest weight is $l\La_0$, the Demazure crystal has a remarkably simple structure.
We study the classical limit of a family of irreducible representations of the quantum affine algebra associated to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$. After a suitable twist, the limit is a module for $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$, i.e., for the maximal standard parabolic subalgebra of the affine Lie algebra. Our first result is about the family of prime representations introduced in the context of a monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. We show that these representations specialize (after twisting), to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$--stable, prime Demazure modules in level two integrable highest weight rep…
We characterize, in the case of affine sl(2), the crystal base of the Demazure module E_w(\La) in terms of extended Young diagrams or paths for any dominant integral weight \La and Weyl group element w. Its character is evaluated via two expressions, 'bosonic' and 'fermionic'.
Answering a question of Kuniba, Misra, Okado, Takagi, and Uchiyama, it is shown that certain Demazure characters of affine type A, coincide with the graded characters of coordinate rings of closures of conjugacy classes of nilpotent matrices. This entails a translation of the affine type A crystal theory into the language of tableaux following Nakayashiki and Yamada, for the case of tensor products of the classical crystals indexed by rectangular partitions. In particular the explicit action of the zero-th crystal raising operator on the above crystals is given, and its direct connection with …
The Demazure character formula is applied to the Verlinde formula for affine fusion rules. We follow Littelmann's derivation of a generalized Littlewood-Richardson rule from Demazure characters. A combinatorial rule for affine fusions does not result, however. Only a modified version of the Littlewood-Richardson rule is obtained that computes an (old) upper bound on the fusion coefficients of affine $A_r$ algebras. We argue that this is because the characters of simple Lie algebras appear in this treatment, instead of the corresponding affine characters. The Bruhat order on the affine Weyl gro…
The conjecturally perfect Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KR) crystals are known to be isomorphic as classical crystals to certain Demazure subcrystals of crystal graphs of irreducible highest weight modules over affine algebras. Under some assumptions we show that the classical isomorphism from the Demazure crystal to the KR crystal, sends zero arrows to zero arrows. This implies that the affine crystal structure on these KR crystals is unique.
In this paper, we give a characterization of the crystal bases $\mathcal{B}_{x}^{+}(λ)$, $x \in W_{\mathrm{af}}$, of Demazure submodules $V_{x}^{+}(λ)$, $x \in W_{\mathrm{af}}$, of a level-zero extremal weight module $V(λ)$ over a quantum affine algebra $U_{q}$, where $λ$ is an arbitrary level-zero dominant integral weight, and $W_{\mathrm{af}}$ denotes the affine Weyl group. This characterization is given in terms of the initial direction of a semi-infinite Lakshmibai-Seshadri path, and is established under a suitably normalized isomorphism between the crystal basis $\mathcal{B}(λ)$ of the le…
We define a family of symmetric polynomials $G_{ν,λ}(z_1,\cdots, z_{n+1},q)$ indexed by a pair of dominant integral weights. The polynomial $G_{ν,0}(z,q)$ is the specialized Macdonald polynomial and we prove that $G_{0,λ}(z,q)$ is the graded character of a level two Demazure module associated to the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{n+1}$. Under suitable conditions on $(ν,λ)$ (which includes the case when $ν=0$ or $λ=0$) we prove that $G_{ν,λ}(z,q)$ is Schur positive and give explicit formulae for them in terms of Macdonald polynomials.
We provide identities of inverse Chevalley type for the graded characters of level-zero Demazure submodules of extremal weight modules over a quantum affine algebra of type $C$. These identities express the product $e^μ \, \mathrm{gch} \, V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ of the (one-dimensional) character $e^μ$, where $μ$ is a (not necessarily dominant) minuscule weight, with the graded character $\mathrm{gch} \, V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ of the level-zero Demazure submodule $V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ over the quantum affine algebra $U_{\mathsf{q}}(\mathfrak{g}_{\mathrm{af}})$ as an explicit finite linear combination of the graded char…
Let $\Lg$ be a simple complex Lie algebra, we denote by $\Lhg$ the corresponding affine Kac--Moody algebra. Let $Λ_0$ be the additional fundamental weight of $\Lhg$. For a dominant integral $\Lg$--coweight $\lam^\vee$, the Demazure submodule $V_{-\lam^\vee}(m\Lam_0)$ is a $\Lg$--module. For any partition of $\lam^\vee=\sum_j \lam_j^\vee$ as a sum of dominant integral $\Lg$--coweights, the Demazure module is (as $\Lg$--module) isomorphic to $\bigotimes_j V_{-\lam^\vee_j}(m\Lam_0)$. For the ``smallest'' case, $\lam^\vee=\om^\vee$ a fundamental coweight, we provide for $\Lg$ of classical type a d…
We study a relationship between the graded characters of generalized Weyl modules $W_{w λ}$, $w \in W$, over the positive part of the affine Lie algebra and those of specific quotients $V_{w}^- (λ) / X_{w}^- (λ)$, $w \in W$, of the Demazure submodules $V_{w}^- (λ)$ of the extremal weight modules $V(λ)$ over the quantum affine algebra, where $W$ is the finite Weyl group and $λ$ is a dominant weight. More precisely, we prove that a specific quotient of the Demazure submodule is a quantum analog of a generalized Weyl module.
We establish a connection between a specialization of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials and the Demazure characters of the corresponding affine Kac-Moody algebra. This allows us to obtain a representation-theoretical interpretation of the coefficients of the expansion of the specialized symmetric Macdonald polynomials in the basis formed by the irreducible characters of the associated finite Lie algebra.
The Cherednik-Orr conjecture expresses the $t\to\infty$ limit of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials in terms of the PBW twisted characters of the affine level one Demazure modules. We prove this conjecture in several special cases.
The goal of this paper is to understand the graded limit of a family of irreducible prime representations of the quantum affine algebra associated to a simply-laced simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. This family was introduced by David Hernandez and Bernard Leclerc in the context of monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. The graded limit of a member of this family is an indecomposable graded module for the current algebra $\mathfrak{g}[t]$; or equivalently a module for the maximal standard parabolic subalgebra in the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$. In this paper we study t…
The Key map is an important tool in the determination of the Demazure crystals associated to Kac-Moody algebras. In finite type A, it can be computed in the tableau realization of crystals by a simple combinatorial procedure due to Lascoux and Sch{ü}tzenberger. We show that this procedure is a part of a more general construction holding in the Kac-Moody case that we illustrate in finite types and affine type A. In affine type A, we introduce higher level generalizations of core partitions which notably give interesting analogues of the Young lattice and are expected to parametrize distinguishe…
We study the path realization of Demazure crystals related to solvable lattice models in statistical mechanics. Various characters are represented in a unified way as the sums over one dimensional configurations which we call unrestricted, classically restricted and restricted paths. As an application characters of Demazure modules are obtained in terms of $q$-multinomial coefficients for several level 1 modules of classical affine algebras.
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra with highest root $θ$ and let $\mathfrak{g}[t]$ be the corresponding current algebra. In this paper, we consider the $\mathfrak{g}[t]$-stable Demazure modules associated to integrable highest weight representations of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$. We prove that the fusion product of Demazure modules of a given level with a single Demazure module of a different level and with highest weight a multiple of $θ$ is a generalized Demazure module, and also give defining relations. This also shows that the fusion …
We study finite dimensional representations of current algebras, loop algebras and their quantized versions. For the current algebra of a simple Lie algebra of type {\tt ADE}, we show that Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and Weyl modules are in fact all Demazure modules. As a consequence one obtains an elementary proof of the dimension formula for Weyl modules for the current and the loop algebra. Further, we show that the crystals of the Weyl and the Demazure module are the same up to some additional label zero arrows for the Weyl module. For the current algebra $\Lgc$ of an arbitrary simple Lie…
Using subvarieties, which we call Demazure quiver varieties, of the quiver varieties of Nakajima, we give a geometric realization of Demazure modules of Kac-Moody algebras with symmetric Cartan data. We give a natural geometric characterization of the extremal weights of a representation and show that Lusztig's semicanonical basis is compatible with the filtration of a representation by Demazure modules. For the case of affine sl_2, we give a characterization of the Demazure quiver variety in terms of a nilpotency condition on quiver representations and an explicit combinatorial description of…
We construct a Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt type basis for the Weyl modules of the current algebra of $sl_{r+1}$. As a corollary we prove a conjecture made by Chari and Pressley on the dimension of the Weyl modules in this case. Further, we relate the Weyl modules to the fusion modules of the current algebra defined by Feigin and Loktev, and to the Demazure modules in level one representations of the corresponding affine algebra. In particular, this allows us to establish substantial cases of the conjectures of Feigin and Loktev on the structure and graded character of the fusion modules.
We study finite-dimensional respresentations of twisted current algebras and show that any graded twisted Weyl module is isomorphic to level one Demazure module for the twisted affine Kac-Moody algebra. Using the tensor product property of Demazure modules, we obtain, by analyzing the fundamental Weyl modules, dimension and character formulas. Moreover we prove that graded twisted Weyl modules can be obtained by taking the associated graded modules of Weyl modules for the loop algebra, which implies that its dimension and classical character are independent of the support and depend only on it…
In the present paper we generalize the construction of the nil Hecke ring of Kostant-Kumar to the context of an arbitrary algebraic oriented cohomology theory of Levine-Morel and Panin-Smirnov, e.g. to Chow groups, Grothendieck's K_0, connective K-theory, elliptic cohomology, and algebraic cobordism. The resulting object, which we call a formal (affine) Demazure algebra, is parameterized by a one-dimensional commutative formal group law and has the following important property: specialization to the additive and multiplicative periodic formal group laws yields completions of the nil Hecke and …
In this paper, we give a representation-theoretic interpretation of the specialization $E_{w_{\circ} λ} (q,\infty)$ of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomial $E_{w_{\circ} λ}(q,t)$ at $t=\infty$ in terms of the Demazure submodule $V_{w_\circ}^{-} (λ)$ of the level-zero extremal weight module $V(λ)$ over a quantum affine algebra of an arbitrary untwisted type, here, $λ$ is a dominant integral weight, and $w_{\circ}$ denotes the longest element in the finite Weyl group $W$. Also, for each $x \in W$, we obtain a combinatorial formula for the specialization $E_{x λ} (q, \infty)$ at $t=\infty$ of th…
In this paper we study a family of commutative algebras generated by two infinite sets of generators. These algebras are parametrized by Young diagrams. We explain a connection of these algebras with the fusion product of integrable irreducible representations of the affine $sl_2$ Lie algebra. As an application we derive a fermionic formula for the character of the affine fusion product of two modules. These fusion products can be considered as a simplest example of the double affine Demazure modules.
In this paper we study the family of prime irreducible representations of quantum affine $\lie{sl}_{n+1}$ which arise from the work of D. Hernandez and B. Leclerc. These representations can also be described as follows: the highest weight is a product of distinct fundamental weights with parameters determined by requiring that the representation be minimal by parts. We show that such representations admit a BGG-type resolution where the role of the Verma module is played by the local Weyl module. This leads to a closed formula (the Weyl character formula) for the character of the irreducible r…
We show that the quantized flag manifold at a root of unity has natural affine open covering parametrized by the elements of the Weyl group. In particular, the quantized flag manifold turns out to be a quasi-scheme in the sense of Rosenberg.
In this paper, we give defining relations of the affine Lie superalgebras an and defining relations of a super-version of the Drinfeld[D]-Jimbo[J] affine quantized universal enveloping algebras. As a result, we can exactly define the affine quantized universal enveloping superalgebras with generators and relations. Moreover we give a Drinfeld's realizations of $U_h({\hat {sl}}(m|n)^{(1)})$.
Explicit formulas of the universal $R$-matrix are given for all quantized nontwisted rank 3 affine Lie algebras $U_q(A_2^{(1)})\,,~U_q(C_2^{(1)})$ and $U_q(G_2^{(1)})$.
We use the fusion construction in the twisted quantum affine algebras to obtain a unified method to deform the wedge product for classical Lie algebras. As a byproduct we uniformly realize all non-spin fundamental modules for quantized enveloping algebras of classical types, and show that they admit natural crystal bases as modules for the (derived) twisted quantum affine algebra. These crystal bases are parametrized in terms of the $q$-wedge products.
Let $U_q(\hat{\cal G})$ denote the quantized affine Lie algebra and $U_q({\cal G}^{(1)})$ the quantized {\em nontwisted} affine Lie algebra. Let ${\cal O}_{\rm fin}$ be the category defined in section 3. We show that when the deformation parameter $q$ is not a root of unit all integrable representations of $U_q(\hat{\cal G})$ in the category ${\cal O}_{\rm fin}$ are completely reducible and that every integrable irreducible highest weight module over $U_q({\cal G}^{(1)})$ corresponding to $q>0$ is equivalent to a unitary module.
We propose to generalize Benkart-Frenkel-Kang-Lee's adjoint crystals and describe their crystal structure for type $A\sb{n}\sp{(1)}$, $C\sb{n}\sp{(1)}$ and $D\sb{n+1}\sp{(2)}$.
Let $L$ be the basic (level one vacuum) representation of the affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra $\hat{\mathfrak g}$. The $m$-th space $F_m$ of the PBW filtration on $L$ is a linear span of vectors of the form $x_1... x_lv_0$, where $l\le m$, $x_i\in \hat{\mathfrak g}$ and $v_0$ is a highest weight vector of $L$. In this paper we give two descriptions of the associated graded space $L^{\rm gr}$ with respect to the PBW filtration. The "top-down" description deals with a structure of $L^{\rm gr}$ as a representation of the abelianized algebra of generating operators. We prove that the ideal of relatio…
Given an affine algebraic variety V and a quantization A of its coordinate ring, it is conjectured that the primitive ideal space of A can be expressed as a topological quotient of V. Evidence in favor of this conjecture is discussed, and positive solutions for several types of varieties (obtained in joint work with E. S. Letzter) are described. In particular, explicit topological quotient maps are given in the case of quantum toric varieties.
We study the properties of level zero modules over quantized affine algebras. The proof of the conjecture on the cyclicity of tensor products by Akasaka and the present author is given. Several properties of modules generated by extremal vectors are proved. The weights of a module generated by an extremal vector are contained in the convex hull of the Weyl group orbit of the extremalweight. The universal extremal weight module with level zero fundamental weight as an extremal weight is irreducible, and isomorphic to the affinization of an irreducible finite-dimensional module.
The so called quantized algebras of functions on affine Hecke algebras of type A and the corresponding q-Schur algebras are defined and their irreducible unitarizable representations are classified.
Let $U_q(\hat{\cal G})$ be a quantized affine Lie algebra. It is proven that the universal R-matrix $R$ of $U_q(\hat{\cal G})$ satisfies the celebrated conjugation relation $R^\dagger=TR$ with $T$ the usual twist map. As applications, braid generators are shown to be diagonalizable on arbitrary tensor product modules of integrable irreducible highest weight $U_q(\hat{\cal G})$-module and a spectral decomposition formula for the braid generators is obtained which is the generalization of Reshetikhin's and Gould's forms to the present affine case. Casimir invariants are constructed and their eig…
Motivated by the work of Nakayashiki on the inhomogeneous vertex models of 6-vertex type, we introduce the notion of crystals with head. We show that the tensor product of the highest weight crystal of level k and the perfect crystal of level l is isomorphic to the tensor product of the perfect crystal of level l-k and the highest weight crystal of level k.
For symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra $\textbf{g}$, Lusztig introduced the modified quantized enveloping algebra $\dot{\textbf{U}}(\textbf{g})$ and its canonical basis in [12]. In this paper, for finite and affine type symmetric Lie algebra $\textbf{g}$ we define a set which depend only on the root category and prove that there is a bijection between the set and the canonical basis of $\dot{\textbf{U}}(\textbf{g})$, where the root category is the $T^2$-orbit category of the derived category of Dynkin or tame quiver. Our method bases on one theorem of Lin, Xiao and Zhang in [9], which gave th…
Bell and Zhang have shown that if $A$ and $B$ are two connected graded algebras finitely generated in degree one that are isomorphic as ungraded algebras, then they are isomorphic as graded algebras. We exploit this result to solve the isomorphism problem in the cases of quantum affine spaces, quantum matrix algebras, and homogenized multiparameter quantized Weyl algebras. Our result involves determining the degree one normal elements, factoring out, and then repeating. This creates an iterative process that allows one to determine relationships between relative parameters.
We give a new model for the crystal graphs of an affine Lie algebra g^, combining Littelmann's path model with the Kyoto path model. The vertices of the crystal graph are represented by certain infinitely looping paths which we call skeins. We apply this model to the case when the corresponding finite-dimensional algebra g has a minuscule representation (classical type and E_6, E_7). We prove that the basic level-one representation of g^, when considered as a representation of g, is an infinite tensor product of fundamental representations of g. A similar tensor product phenomenon holds for ce…
The extended affine Lie algebra $\widetilde{\frak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$ is quantized from three different points of view in this paper, which produces three noncommutative and noncocommutative Hopf algebra structures, and yield other three quantizations by an isomorphism of $\widetilde{\frak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$ correspondingly. Moreover, two of these quantizations can be restricted to the extended affine Lie algebra ${sl_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$.
In this paper, we extend the Drinfeld current realization of quantum affine algebras $U_q(\hat {\gg})$ and of the Yangians in several directions: we construct current operators for non-simple roots of ${\gg}$, define a new braid group action in terms of the current operators and describe the universal R-matrix for the corresponding ``Drinfeld'' comultiplication in the form of infinite product and in the form of certain integrals over current operators.
We consider the sine-Gordon and affine Toda field theories on the half-line with classically integrable boundary conditions, and show that in the quantum theory a remnant survives of the bulk quantized affine algebra symmetry generated by non-local charges. The paper also develops a general framework for obtaining solutions of the reflection equation by solving an intertwining property for representations of certain coideal subalgebras of quantized affine algebras.
We give the analogue for Hopf algebras of the polyuble Lie bialgebra construction by Fock and Rosli. By applying this construction to the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group, we obtain a deformation quantization $\mathbb{C}_\hslash[(N \backslash G)^m]$ of a Poisson structure $π^{(m)}$ on products $(N \backslash G)^m$ of principal affine spaces of a connected and simply connected complex semisimple Lie group $G$. The Poisson structure $π^{(m)}$ descends to a Poisson structure $π_m$ on products $(B \backslash G)^m$ of the flag variety of $G$ which was introduced and studied by the Lu and the author. An…
We introduce two subalgebras in the type A quantum affine algebra which are coideals with respect to the Hopf algebra structure. In the classical limit q -> 1 each subalgebra specializes to the enveloping algebra U(k), where k is a fixed point subalgebra of the loop algebra over gl_N with respect to a natural involution corresponding to the embedding of the orthogonal or symplectic Lie algebra into gl_N. We also give an equivalent presentation of these coideal subalgebras in terms of generators and defining relations which have the form of reflection-type equations. We provide evaluation homom…
We quantize the coordinate ring of the moduli space of B-bundles on the elliptic curve. Here B is a Borel subgroup of some semisimple Lie group. We construct some representations of these algebras and study intertwining operators for these representations. We apply our constructions to produce some objects: the elliptic Belavin R-matrix, the quantization of the algebra of functions on the Grassmannian, some generalized elliptic R-matrix. We consider also the affine case and write down the explicit formula for commuting elements.
Recently a new technique in the harmonic analysis on symmetric spaces was suggested based on certain remarkable representations of affine and double affine Hecke algebras in terms of Dunkl and Demazure operators instead of Lie groups and Lie algebras. In the classic case it resulted (among other applications) in a new theory of radial part of Laplace operators and their deformations including a related concept of the Fourier transform. In the present paper we demonstrate that the new technique works well even in the most general difference-elliptic case conjecturally corresponding to the $q$-K…
We prove stability of the Chari-Pressley-Loktev bases for natural inclusions of local Weyl modules of the current algebra $sl_2[t]$. These modules being known to be Demazure submodules in the level 1 representations of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{sl_2}$, we obtain, by passage to the direct limit, bases for the level 1 representations themselves.
We give complete proofs of the K-theoretic construction of the quantized enveloping algebra of affine gl(n) sketched with V. Ginzburg in Internat. Math. Res. Notices, 3 (1993).
De Concini, Kac and Procesi defined a family of subalgebras U^w_+ of a quantized universal enveloping algebra U_q(g), associated to the elements of the corresponding Weyl group W. They are deformations of the universal enveloping algebras U(n_+ \cap Ad_w(n_-)) where n_\pm are the nilradicals of a pair of dual Borel subalgebras. Based on results of Gorelik and Joseph and an interpretation of U^w_+ as quantized algebras of functions on Schubert cells, we construct explicitly the H invariant prime ideals of each U^w_+ and show that the corresponding poset is isomorphic to W^{\leq w}, where H is t…
We study the possibility to establish $L$-operator's formalism by Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan-Semenov-Tian-Shansky (FRST) for quantized current algebras, that is, for quantum affine algebras in the ''new realization '' by V. Drinfeld with the corresponding Hopf algebra structure and for their Yangian counterpart. We establish this formalism using the twisting procedure by Tolstoy and the second author and explain the problems which FRST approach encounter for quantized current algebras. We show also that, for the case of $U_q(\hat {\frak sl}_n)$, entries of the L-operators of FRTS type give …
Let $U$ be the quantum group with divided powers in $p-$th root of unity for prime $p$. For any two-sided cell $A$ in the corresponding affine Weyl group one associates tensor ideal in the category of tilting modules over $U$. In this note we show that for any cell $A$ there exists tilting module $T$ from the corresponding tensor ideal such that biggest power of $p$ which divides $dim T$ is $p^{a(A)}$ where $a(A)$ is Lusztig's $a-$function. In new version some typos are corrected and exposition is improved following suggestions of the referee.
The natural representation of the quantized affine algebra of type A can be defined via the deformed Fock space by Misra and Miwa. This relates the classes of Weyl modules for a type A quantum group at a root of unity to the action of the quantized affine algebra as the rank tends towards infinity. In this paper we investigate the situation outside of type A. In classical types, we construct embeddings of the Grothendieck group of finite dimensional modules for the corresponding quatum group at a root of unity into Fock spaces of different charges and define an action of an affine quantum symm…
We give (conjectural) analogs of Berenstein-Zelevinsky data for affine type $A$. Moreover, by using these affine analogs of Berenstein-Zelevinsky data, we realize the crystal basis of the negative part of the quantized universal enveloping algebra of the (Langlands dual) Lie algebra of affine type $A$.
We prove stability of the Chari-Loktev bases with respect to the inclusions of local Weyl modules of the current algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_{r+1}[t]$. This is conjectured in \cite{RRV2} and the $r=1$ case is proved in \cite{RRV1}. Local Weyl modules being known to be Demazure submodules in the level one representations of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_{r+1}}$, we obtain, by passage to the direct limit, bases for the level one representations themselves.
We construct quantized versions of generic bases in quantum cluster algebras of finite and affine types. Under the specialization of $q$ and coefficients to 1, these bases are generic bases of finite and affine cluster algebras.
This paper contains a survey of some ring-theoretic aspects of quantized coordinate rings, with primary focus on the prime and primitive spectra. For these algebras, the overall structure of the prime spectrum is governed by a partition into strata determined by the action of a suitable group of automorphisms of the algebra. We discuss this stratification in detail, as well as its use in determining the primitive spectrum -- under suitable conditions, the primitive ideals are precisely those prime ideals which are maximal within their strata. The discussion then turns to the global structure o…
We study the restricted form of the qaunatized enveloping algebra of an untwisted affine Lie algebra and prove a triangular decomposition for it. In proving the decomposition we prove several new identities in the quantized algebra, one of these show a connection between the quantized algebra and Young diagrams. These identities are all invisible in the non-quantum case of the problem which was considered by Garland in 1978. We then study the finite-dimensional irreducible representations and prove a factorization theorem for such representations.
