The Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes algebras $A(G)$ and $B(G)$ of a locally compact group $G$ are introduced and studied in 60's by Piere Eymard in his PhD thesis. If $G$ is a locally compact abelian group, then $A(G)\simeq L^1(\hat{G})$, and $B(G)\simeq M(\hat{G})$, via the Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes transforms, where $\hat{G}$ is the Pontryagin dual of $G$. Restricted algebras on inverse semigroups I, representation theory

The relation between representations and positive definite functions is a key concept in harmonic analysis on topological groups. Recently this relation has been studied on topological groupoids. This is the first in a series of papers in which we have investigated a similar relation on inverse semigroups. We use a new concept of "restricted" representations and study the restricted semigroup algebras and corresponding $C^*$-algebras.

Regular Representations of Lattice Ordered Semigroups

We establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a representation of a lattice ordered semigroup to be regular, in the sense that certain extensions are completely positive definite. This result generalizes a theorem due to Brehmer where the lattice ordered group was taken to be $\mathbb{Z}_+^Ω$. As an immediate consequence, we prove that contractive Nica-covariant representations on lattice ordered semigroups are regular, and therefore, its minimal isometric dilation is also Nica-covariant. A revised augmented Cuntz semigroup

We revise the construction of the augmented Cuntz semigroup functor used by the first author to classify inductive limits of 1-dimensional noncommutative CW complexes. The original construction has good functorial properties when restricted to the class of C*-algebras of stable rank one. The construction proposed here has good properties for all C*-algebras: We show that the augmented Cuntz semigroup is a stable, continuous, split exact functor, from the category of C*-algebras to the category of Cu-semigroups.

Approximately finitely acting operator algebras

Let E be an operator algebra on a Hilbert space with finite-dimensional generated C*-algebra. A classification is given of the locally finite algebras and the operator algebras obtained as limits of direct sums of matrix algebras over E with respect to star-extendible homomorphisms.
