For the Cauchy problem for an operator differential equation of the form $y'(z) = Ay(z)$, where $A$ is a closed linear operator on a Banach space over the completion of an algebraic closure of the field of $p$-adic numbers, a criterion of correct solvability in the class of locally analytic vector-functions is established. It is shown how the Cauchy-Kovalevskaya theorem for $p$-adic partial differential equations may be obtained as a particular case from this criterion.
For an operator-differential equation of the form $y^{(m)}(z) = Ay(z)$, where $A$ is a closed linear operator on a Banach space over the the field of $p$-adic numbers, the necessary and sufficient conditions on initial data for the Cauchy problem to be well-posed in the class of locally analytic vector-valued functions are given. The result is illustrated by $p$-adic partial differential equations.
It is shown that the $p$-adic Banach spaces introduced by Emerton are isomorphic to the cohomology groups of the sheaf of continuous $\Q_{p}$-valued functions on a certain space. Some applications of this result are discussed.
This article gives a new proof of the fundamental lemma of the "weakly admissible implies admissible" theorem of Colmez-Fontaine that describes the semi-stable p-adic representations. To this end, we introduce the category of spectral Banach spaces, which are p-adic Banach spaces with a C_p-algebra of analytic functions, and the subcategory of effective Banach-Colmez spaces. The fundamental lemma states the surjectivity of certain analytic maps and describes their kernel. It is proven by an explicit count of solutions of the equations defining these maps. It is equivalent to the existence of f…
The purpose of the current paper is to introduce some new methods for studying the $p$-adic Banach spaces introduced by Emerton \cite{emerton}. We first relate these spaces to more familiar sheaf cohomology groups. As an application, we obtain a more general version of Emerton's spectral sequence. We also calculate the spaces in some easy cases. As a consequence, we obtain a number of vanishing theorems.
We take some initial steps towards illuminating the (hypothetical) $p$-adic local Langlands functoriality principle relating Galois representations of a $p$-adic field $L$ and admissible unitary Banach space representations of $G(L)$ when $G$ is a split reductive group over $L$. The outline of our work is derived from Breuil's remarkable insights into the nature of the correspondence between 2-dimensional crystalline Galois representations of the Galois group of $\Qdss_p$ and Banach space representations of $GL_{2}(\Qdss_p)$.
We give a new proof of the "weakly admissible implies admissible" theorem of Colmez and Fontaine describing the semi-stable p-adic representations. We study Banach-Colmez spaces, i.e. p-adic Banach spaces with the extra data of a C_p-algebra of analytic functions. The "weakly admissible" theorem is then a result of the existence of dimension and height functions on these objects. Furthermore, we show that the subcategory of Banach-Colmez spaces corresponding to crystalline representations is naturally filtered by the positive rationals.
Working in the p-adic analog of the complex numbers, we'll define a line integral on a small arc of a circle. This allows new versions of the Residue Theorem, the Cauchy-Goursat Theorem on discs with and without holes, Cauchy's Integral Formula and the Z-P Theorem. In contrast to results in complex analysis, these integrals allow the points on a boundary circle, the bulk of a p-adic disc, to be treated the same as points interior to the boundary circle. The theory of the integral is developed, especially for functions holomorphic on an open disc, and integrals will be calculated for rational f…
We define and study an $\ell$-adic Fourier transform for a relative version of Banach-Colmez spaces (over a perfectoid space which is not necessarily a geometric point), which can be thought of as some analytic analogue of the $\ell$-adic Fourier transform for unipotent perfect group schemes. We explicitly describe it on some examples.
We postulate axioms for a chiral half of a nonarchimedean 2-dimensional bosonic conformal field theory, that is, a vertex operator algebra in which a p-adic Banach space replaces the traditional Hilbert space. We study some consequences of our axioms leading to the construction of various examples, including p-adic commutative Banach rings and p-adic versions of the Virasoro, Heisenberg, and the Moonshine module vertex operator algebras. Serre p-adic modular forms occur naturally in some of these examples as limits of classical 1-point functions.
For a prime number $p\ge 5$, we consider three classical cusp eigenforms $f_j(z)$ of weights $k_1, k_2, k_3$, of conductors $N_1, N_2, N_3$, and of nebentypus characters $ψ_j \bmod N_j$. According to H.Hida and R.Coleman, one can include each $f_j$ into a {$p$-adic analytic family} $k_j \mapsto \{f_{j,k_j}\}$ of cusp eigenforms $f_{j,k_j}$ of weights $k_j$ in such a way that $f_{j,k_j}=f_j$, and that all their Fourier coefficients $a_n(f_{j, k_j})$ are given by certain $p$-adic analytic functions $k_j{}\mapsto a_{n, j}(k_j{})$. The purpose of this paper is to describe a four variable $p$-adic …
Let $D$ be the non-split quaternion algebra over $\mathbb{Q}_p$. We prove that a class of admissible unitary Banach space representations of $D^{\times}$ of global origin are topologically of finite length.
We prove the continuous non-Archimedean (resp. p-adic) Banach space and Hilbert space versions of non-Archimedean (resp. p-adic) Welch bounds proved by M. Krishna. We formulate continuous non-Archimedean and p-adic functional Zauner conjectures.
The lack of a $p$-adic Haar measure causes many methods of traditional representation theory to break down when applied to continuous representations of a compact $p$-adic Lie group $G$ in Banach spaces over a given $p$-adic field $K$. For example, Diarra showed that the abelian group $G=\dZ$ has an enormous wealth of infinite dimensional, topologically irreducible Banach space representations. We therefore address the problem of finding an additional ''finiteness'' condition on such representations that will lead to a reasonable theory. We introduce such a condition that we call ''admissibili…
We describe a new approach to relative p-adic Hodge theory based on systematic use of Witt vector constructions and nonarchimedean analytic geometry in the style of both Berkovich and Huber. We give a thorough development of phi-modules over a relative Robba ring associated to a perfect Banach ring of characteristic p, including the relationship between these objects and etale Z_p-local systems and Q_p-local systems on the algebraic and analytic spaces associated to the base ring, and the relationship between etale cohomology and phi-cohomology. We also make a critical link to mixed characteri…
The aim of this paper is to introduce several degenerate hyperbolic functions as degenerate versions of the hyperbolic functions, to evaluate Volkenborn and the fermionic $p$-adic integrals of the degenerate hyperbolic cosine and the degenerate hyperbolic sine functions and to derive from them some identities involving the degenerate Bernoulli numbers, the degenerate Euler numbers and the Cauchy numbers of the first kind.
We give a generalization of Kostant's theorem on Lie algebra cohomology of finite dimensional highest weight representations to some infinite dimensional cases over a $p$-adic family of highest weight distribution representations. For proving this, we develop a theory of eigen orthonormalizable Banach representations of $p$-adic torus over an affinoid algebra, and we construct an eigen orthonormalizable weight completion of the distribution representations.
We prove that the canonical dimension of an admissible Banach space or a locally analytic representation of an arbitrary semisimple p-adic Lie group is either zero or at least half the dimension of a non-zero coadjoint orbit. This extends the results of Ardakov-Wadsley and Schmidt in the split semisimple case.
We show that the continuous cohomology groups of a $ p $-adic reductive group with coefficients in the locally analytic vectors of an admissible $ \mathbb{Q}_p $-Banach space representation are homeomorphic to those with coefficients in the Banach space representation itself. Moreover, we deduce that the canonical topologies on those continuous cohomology groups are Hausdorff and are the uniquely determined finest locally convex topologies.
In this article we will show how to compute $U_p$ acting on spaces of overconvergent $p$-adic modular forms when $X_0(p)$ has genus 1. We first give a construction of Banach bases for spaces of overconvergent $p$-adic modular forms, and then give an algorithm to approximate both the characteristic power series of the $U_p$ operator and eigenvectors of finite slope for $U_p$, and present some explicit examples. We will also relate this to the conjectures of Clay on the slopes of overconvergent modular forms.
In this paper we define Banach spaces of overconvergent half-integral weight $p$-adic modular forms and Banach modules of families of overconvergent half-integral weight $p$-adic modular forms over admissible open subsets of weight space. Both spaces are equipped with a continuous Hecke action for which $U_{p^2}$ is moreover compact. The modules of families of forms are used to construct an eigencurve parameterizing all finite-slope systems of eigenvalues of Hecke operators acting on these spaces. We also prove an analog of Coleman's theorem stating that overconvergent eigenforms of suitably l…
We prove that the canonical dimension of a coadmissible representation of a semisimple $p$-adic Lie group in a $p$-adic Banach space is either zero or at least half the dimension of a non-zero coadjoint orbit. To do this we establish analogues for $p$-adically completed enveloping algebras of Bernstein's inequality for modules over Weyl algebras, the Beilinson-Bernstein localisation theorem and Quillen's Lemma about the endomorphism ring of a simple module over an enveloping algebra.
We give the definition of $p-adic$ Hermite operator and set up the $p-adic$ spectral measure. We compare the Archimedean case with non-Archimedean case. The structure of Hermite conjugate in $C^{*}$-Algebra corresponds to three canonical structures of $p-adic$ ultrametric Banach algebra: 1. mod $p$ reduction 2. Frobenius map 3. Teichmüller lift. There is a nature connection between Galois theory and Hermite operator spectral decomposition. The Galois group $\mathrm{Gal}(\bar{\mathbb{F}}_p|\mathbb{F}_p)$ generate the $p-adic$ spectral measure. We point out some relationships with $p-adic$ quant…
We establish that the extended Robba rings associated to a perfect nonarchimedean field of characteristic p, which arise in p-adic Hodge theory as certain completed localizations of the ring of Witt vectors, are strongly noetherian Banach rings; that is, the completed polynomial ring in any number of variables over such a Banach ring is noetherian. This enables Huber's theory of adic spaces to be applied to such rings. We also establish that rational localizations of these rings are principal ideal domains and that etale covers of these rings (in the sense of Huber) are Dedekind domains.
Given a compact p-adic Lie group G over a finite unramified extension L/Q_p let G_0 be the product over all Galois conjugates of G. We construct an exact and faithful functor from admissible G-Banach space representations to admissible locally L-analytic G_0-representations that coincides with passage to analytic vectors in case L=Q_p. On the other hand, we study the functor "passage to analytic vectors" and its derived functors over general basefields. As an application we determine the higher analytic vectors in certain locally analytic induced representations.
We compute syntomic cohomology of semistable affinoids in terms of cohomology of $(φ,Γ)$-modules which, thanks to work of Fontaine-Herr, Andreatta-Iovita, and Kedlaya-Liu, is known to compute Galois cohomology of these affinoids. For a semistable scheme over a mixed characteristic local ring this implies a comparison isomorphism, up to some universal constants, between truncated sheaves of $p$-adic nearby cycles and syntomic cohomology sheaves. This generalizes the comparison results of Kato, Kurihara, and Tsuji for small Tate twists (where no constants are necessary) as well as the comparison…
We prove that certain p-adic Banach representations, associated to local ordinary Galois representations, constructed by Breuil and Herzig appears in the completed cohomology of a definite unitary group in three variables. This confirms part of their conjecture. Our main technique is making use of p-adic automorphic forms for definite unitary groups and the eigenvarieties which parameterize them.
Let $L$ be a finite extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ and $n\geq 2$. We associate to a crystabelline $n$-dimensional representation of $\mathrm{Gal}(\overline L/L)$ satisfying mild genericity assumptions a finite length locally $\mathbb{Q}_p$-analytic representation of $\mathrm{GL}_n(L)$. In the crystalline case and in a global context, using the recent results on the locally analytic socle from [BHS17a] we prove that this representation indeed occurs in spaces of $p$-adic automorphic forms. We then use this latter result in the ordinary case to show that certain "ordinary" $p$-adic Banach space rep…
In \cite[\S1.3]{Br2}, some unitary representations of ${\rm GL}_2(\mathbf{Q}_p)$ on $p$-adic Banach spaces are associated to 2-dimensional irreducible crystalline representations of ${\rm Gal}(\bar{\mathbf{Q}}_p)/\mathbf{Q}_p)$. Some conjectures are formulated concerning those Banach spaces (non triviality, topological irreducibility, admissibility). We prove those conjectures by reinterpreting those Banach as spaces of functions of a certain type on $\mathbf{Q}_p$, and then by using the theory of $(ϕ,Γ)$-modules associated to the corresponding crystalline representations.
By using Cauchy's formula, it is known that Bernoulli numbers and Euler numbers can be represented by the contour integrals \begin{equation*} \begin{aligned} B_n&=\frac{n!}{2πi}\oint \frac{z}{e^z-1}\frac{d z}{z^{n+1}},\label{condefi}\\[4pt] E_n&=\frac{n!}{2πi}\oint \frac{2e^z}{e^{2z}+1}\frac{d z}{z^{n+1}}, \end{aligned} \end{equation*} while the following Witt's formula represents Euler polynomials through the fermionic $p$-adic integrals $$E_n(a)=\int_{\mathbb Z_p}(x+a)^ndμ_{-1}(x).$$ Base on the above Witt's identity and the binomial theorem, we prove some new identities for the Euler polyno…
Let G be a compact, locally L-analytic group, where L is a finite extension of Qp. Let K be a discretely valued extension field of L. We study the algebra D(G,K) of K-valued locally analytic distributions on G, and apply our results to the locally analytic representation theory of G in vector spaces over K. Our objective is to lay a useful and powerful foundation for the further study of such representations. We show that the noncommutative, nonnoetherian ring D(G,K) "behaves" like the ring of functions on a rigid Stein space, and that (at least when G is Qp-analytic) it is a faithfully flat e…
In this paper, we focus on the q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. We shall introduce new identities of the q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials by using the fermionic p-adic integral on Zp which are very important in the study of Frobenius-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. Also, we give Cauchy-integral formula for the q-Genocchi polynomials and moreover by using measure theory on p-adic integral we derive the distribution formula q-Genocchi polynomials. Finally, we present a new definition of q-Zeta-type function by using Mellin transformation which is the interpolation function of the q-Genocc…
Let $F$ be a number field, $\mathcal{O}$ be a domain with fraction field $\mathcal{K}$ of characteristic zero and $ρ: \mathrm{Gal}(\overline F/F) \to \mathrm{GL}_n(\mathcal{O})$ be a representation such that $ρ\otimes\overline{\mathcal{K}}$ is semisimple. If $\mathcal{O}$ admits a finite monomorphism from a power series ring with coefficients in a $p$-adic integer ring (resp. $\mathcal{O}$ is an affinoid algebra over a $p$-adic number field) and $ρ$ is continuous with respect to the maximal ideal adic topology (resp. the Banach algebra topology), then we prove that the set of ramified primes o…
