We establish large deviation principle (LDP) for the family of vector-valued random processes $(X^ε,Y^ε),ε\to 0$ defined as $$ X^ε_t=\frac{1}{ε^κ}\int_0^t H(ξ^ε_s,Y^ε_s)ds, dY^ε_t=F(ξ^ε_t,Y^ε_t)dt+ Dε^{1/2-κ}G(ξ^ε_t,Y^ε_t)dW_t,$$ where $W_t$ is Wiener process and $ξ^ε_t$ is fast ergodic diffusion. We show that, under $κ<{1/2}$ or less and Veretennikov-Khasminskii type condition for fast diffusion, the LDP holds with rate function of Freidlin-Wentzell's type.
By using the technique of the Zvonkin's transformation and the classical Khasminkii's time discretization method, we prove the averaging principle for slow-fast stochastic partial differential equations with bounded and Hölder continuous drift coefficients. An example is also provided to explain our result.
In this paper, the strong averaging principle is researched for a class of Hölder continuous drift slow-fast SPDEs with $α$-stable process by the Zvonkin's transformation and the classical Khasminkii's time discretization method. As applications, an example is also provided to explain our result.
This paper is devoted to studying the averaging principle for stochastic differential equations with slow and fast time-scales, where the drift coefficients satisfy local Lipschitz conditions with respect to the slow and fast variables, and the coefficients in the slow equation depend on time $t$ and $ω$. Making use of the techniques of time discretization and truncation, we prove that the slow component strongly converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation.
We study the validity of an averaging principle for a slow-fast system of stochastic reaction diffusion equations. We assume here that the coefficients of the fast equation depend on time, so that the classical formulation of the averaging principle in terms of the invariant measure of the fast equation is not anymore available. As an alternative, we introduce the time depending evolution family of measures associated with the fast equation. Under the assumption that the coefficients in the fast equation are almost periodic, the evolution family of measures is almost periodic. This allows to i…
In this paper, we consider a class of slow-fast systems of stochastic partial differential equations where the nonlinearity in the slow equation is not continuous and unbounded. We first provide conditions that ensure the existence of a martingale solution. Then we prove that the laws of the slow motions are tight, and any of their limiting points is a martingale solution for a suitable averaged equation. Our results apply to systems of stochastic reaction-diffusion equations where the reaction term in the slow equation is only continuous and has polynomial growth.
In this paper, we aim to study the asymptotic behaviour for a class of McKean-Vlasov stochastic partial differential equations with slow and fast time-scales. Using the variational approach and classical Khasminskii time discretization, we show that the slow component strongly converges to the solution of the associated averaged equation. In particular, the corresponding convergence rates are also obtained. The main results can be applied to demonstrate the averaging principle for various McKean-Vlasov nonlinear SPDEs such as stochastic porous media type equation, stochastic $p$-Laplace type e…
In this paper, we study a class of slow-fast stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative Wiener noise. Under some appropriate conditions, we prove the slow component converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation with optimal orders 1/2 and 1 in the strong and weak sense respectively. The main technique is based on the Poisson equation.
In this paper, we consider the averaging principle for one dimensional stochastic Burgers equation with slow and fast time-scales. Under some suitable conditions, we show that the slow component strongly converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation. Meanwhile, when there is no noise in the slow component equation, we also prove that the slow component weakly converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation with the order of convergence $1-r$, for any $0<r<1$.
This paper is devoted to proving the strong averaging principle for slow-fast stochastic partial differential equations with locally monotone coefficients, where the slow component is a stochastic partial differential equations with locally monotone coefficients and the fast component is a stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) with strongly monotone coefficients. The result is applicable to a large class of examples, such as the stochastic porous medium equation, the stochastic $p$-Laplace equation, the stochastic Burgers type equation and the stochastic 2D Navier-Stokes equation, …
This work studies the averaging principle for a fully coupled two time-scale system, whose slow process is a diffusion process and fast process is a purely jumping process on an infinitely countable state space. The ergodicity of the fast process has important impact on the limit system and the averaging principle. We showed that under strongly ergodic condition, the limit system admits a unique solution, and the slow process converges in the L1-norm to the limit system. However, under certain weaker ergodicity condition, the limit system admits a solution, but not necessarily unique, and the …

We consider the averaging principle for stochastic reaction-diffusion equations. Under some assumptions providing existence of a unique invariant measure of the fast motion with the frozen slow component, we calculate limiting slow motion. The study of solvability of Kolmogorov equations in Hilbert spaces and the analysis of regularity properties of solutions, allow to generalize the classical approach to finite-dimensional problems of this type in the case of SPDE's.
In this article, we investigate averaging principle for stochastic hyperbolic-parabolic equations with two time-scales, in which both the slow and fast components are perturbed by multiplicative noises. Particularly, we prove that the rate of strong convergence for the slow component to the averaged dynamics is of order $1/2$, which significantly improves the order $1/4$ established in our previous work.
In this paper, we study a system of stochastic partial differential equations with slow and fast time-scales, where the slow component is a stochastic real Ginzburg-Landau equation and the fast component is a stochastic reaction-diffusion equation, the system is driven by $α$-stable process with $α\in (1,2)$. Using the classical Khasminskii approach based on time discretization and the techniques of stopping times, we show that the slow component strong converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation under some suitable conditions.
We consider slow / fast systems where the slow system is driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H>{1\over 2}$. We show that unlike in the case $H={1\over 2}$, convergence to the averaged solution takes place in probability and the limiting process solves the 'naïvely' averaged equation. Our proof strongly relies on the recently obtained stochastic sewing lemma.
This paper is devoted to studying the averaging principle for fast-slow system of rough differential equations driven by mixed fractional Brownian rough path. The fast component is driven by Brownian motion, while the slow component is driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index $H ~(1/3 < H\leq 1/2)$. Combining the fractional calculus approach to rough path theory and Khasminskii's classical time discretization method, we prove that the slow component strongly converges to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation in the $L^1$-sense. The averaging principle for a fast-slow…
The averaging principle is established for the slow component and the fast component being two dimensional stochastic Navier-Stokes equations and stochastic reaction-diffusion equations, respectively. The classical Khasminskii approach based on time discretization is used for the proof of the slow component strong convergence to the solution of the corresponding averaged equation under some suitable conditions. Meanwhile, some powerful techniques are used to overcome the difficulties caused by the nonlinear term and to release the regularity of the initial value.
We study a large deviation principle for a system of stochastic reaction--diffusion equations (SRDEs) with a separation of fast and slow components and small noise in the slow component. The derivation of the large deviation principle is based on the weak convergence method in infinite dimensions, which results in studying averaging for controlled SRDEs. By appropriate choice of the parameters, the fast process and the associated control that arises from the weak convergence method decouple from each other. We show that in this decoupling case one can use the weak convergence method to charact…
This work is devoted to averaging principle of a two-time-scale stochastic partial differential equation on a bounded interval $[0, l]$, where both the fast and slow components are directly perturbed by additive noises. Under some regular conditions on drift coefficients, it is proved that the rate of weak convergence for the slow variable to the averaged dynamics is of order $1-\varepsilon$ for arbitrarily small $\varepsilon>0$. The proof is based on an asymptotic expansion of solutions to Kolmogorov equations associated with the multiple-time-scale system.
We focus on fast-slow systems involving both fractional Brownian motion (fBm) and standard Brownian motion (Bm). The integral with respect to Bm is the standard Ito integral, and the integral with respect to fBm is the generalised Riemann-Stieltjes integral using the tools of fractional calculus. An averaging principle in which the fast-varying diffusion process of the fast-slow systems acts as a noise to be averaged out in the limit is established. It is shown that the slow process has a limit in the mean square sense, which is characterized by the solution of stochastic differential equation…
We establish the large deviation principle for stochastic differential equations with averaging in the case when all coefficients of the fast component depend on the slow one, including diffusion.
This article is devoted to the analysis of semilinear, parabolic, Stochastic Partial Differential Equations, with slow and fast time scales. Asymptotically, an averaging principle holds: the slow component converges to the solution of another semilinear, parabolic, SPDE, where the nonlinearity is averaged with respect to the invariant distribution of the fast process. We exhibit orders of convergence, in both strong and weak senses, in two relevant situations, depending on the spatial regularity of the fast process and on the covariance of the Wiener noise in the slow equation. In a very regul…
In this work we study the averaging principle for non-autonomous slow-fast systems of stochastic differential equations. In particular in the first part we prove the averaging principle assuming the sublinearity, the Lipschitzianity and the Holder's continuity in time of the coefficients, an ergodic hypothesis and an $\mathcal{L}^2$-bound of the fast component. In this setting we prove the weak convergence of the slow component to the solution of the averaged equation. Moreover we provide a suitable dissipativity condition under which the ergodic hypothesis and the $\mathcal{L}^2$-bound of the…
In this work, we study a class of non-autonomous two-time-scale stochastic reaction-diffusion equations driven by Poisson random measures, in which the coefficients satisfy the polynomial growth condition and local Lipschitz condition. First, the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution are proved by constructing auxiliary equations and using the technique of stopping time. Then, consider that the time dependent of the coefficients, the averaged equation is redefined by studying the existence of time-dependent evolution family of measures associated with the frozen fast equation. Further,…
In this paper, we prove the moderate deviations principle (MDP) for a general system of slow-fast dynamics. We provide a unified approach, based on weak convergence ideas and stochastic control arguments, that cover both the averaging and the homogenization regimes. We allow the coefficients to be in the whole space and not just the torus and allow the noises driving the slow and fast processes to be correlated arbitrarily. Similar to the large deviation case, the methodology that we follow allows construction of provably efficient Monte Carlo methods for rare events that fall into the moderat…

This paper investigates a non-autonomous slow-fast system, which is generalized by stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with locally Lipschitz coefficients, subjected to standard Brownian motion (Bm) and fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with Hurst parameter 1/2<H<1. We concentrate on how to handle both types of integrals with respect to Bm and fBm and the locally Lispchitz continuity. The pathwise approach and the Ito stochastic calculus are combined with the technique of stopping time to establish the averaging principle where the averaged equation is defined. Then, the slow component of …
The work treats systems combining slow and fast motions depending on each other where fast motions are perturbations of families of either dynamical systems or Markov processes with freezed slow variable. In the first case we consider hyperbolic dynamical systems and in the second case we deal with random evolutions which are combinations of diffusions and continuous time Markov chains. We study first large deviations of the slow motion from the averaged one and then use these results together with some Markov property type arguments in order to describe very long time behavior of the slow mot…
We prove a stochastic averaging theorem for stochastic differential equations in which the slow and the fast variables interact. The approximate Markov fast motion is a family of Markov process with generator ${\mathcal L}_x$ for which we obtain a locally uniform law of large numbers and obtain the continuous dependence of their invariant measures on the parameter $x$. These results are obtained under the assumption that ${\mathcal L}_x$ satisfies Hörmander's bracket conditions, or more generally ${\mathcal L}_x$ is a family of Fredholm operators with sub-elliptic estimates. On the other hand …
We are concerned about the averaging principle for the stochastic Burgers equation with slow-fast time scale. This slow-fast system is driven by Lévy processes. Under some appropriate conditions, we show that the slow component of this system strongly converges to a limit, which is characterized by the solution of stochastic Burgers equation whose coefficients are averaged with respect to the stationary measure of the fast-varying jump-diffusion. To illustrate our theoretical result, we provide some numerical simulations.
Mathematical models of biological neural networks are associated to a rich and complex class of stochastic processes. In this paper, we consider a simple {\em plastic} neural network whose {\em connectivity/synaptic strength} $(W(t))$ depends on a set of activity-dependent processes to model {\em synaptic plasticity}, a well-studied mechanism from neuroscience. A general class of stochastic models has been introduced in \cite{robert_mathematical_2020} to study the stochastic process $(W(t))$. It has been observed experimentally that its dynamics occur on much slower timescale than that of the …
Stochastic averaging allows for the reduction of the dimension and complexity of stochastic dynamical systems with multiple time scales, replacing fast variables with statistically equivalent stochastic processes in order to analyze variables evolving on the slow time scale. These procedures have been studied extensively for systems driven by Gaussian noise, but very little attention has been given to the case of α-stable noise forcing which arises naturally from heavy-tailed stochastic perturbations. In this paper, we study nonlinear fast-slow stochastic dynamical systems in which the fast va…
We consider a one-dimensional stochastic differential equation driven by a Wiener process, where the diffusion coefficient depends on an ergodic fast process. The averaging principle is satisfied: it is well-known that the slow component converges in distribution to the solution of an averaged equation, with generator determined by averaging the square of the diffusion coefficient. We propose a version of the averaging principle, where the solution is interpreted as the sum of two terms: one depending on the average of the diffusion coefficient, the other giving fluctuations around that averag…
The main goal of the work is to study the stochastic averaging principle for two time-scales stochastic evolution equations driven by Lévy process. The solution of reduced equation with modified coefficient is derived to approximate the slow component of original equation under suitable condition. It is shown that the slow component can strongly converge to the solution of corresponding reduced equation in L^p(p>2)-strong convergence sense. Our key and novelty is how to cope with the changes caused by Lévy process and higher order moments.
We study diffusion processes driven by a Brownian motion with regular drift in a finite dimension setting. The drift has two components on different time scales, a fast conservative component and a slow dissipative component. Using the theory of Dirichlet form and Mosco-convergence we obtain simpler proofs, interpretations and new results of the averaging principle for such processes when we speed up the conservative component. As a result, one obtains an effective process with values in the space of connected level sets of the conserved quantities. The use of Dirichlet forms provides a simple…
This work is about the synchronization of nonlinear coupled dynamical systems driven by $α$-stable noise. Firstly, we provide a novel technique to construct the relationship between synchronized system and slow-fast system. Secondly, we show that the slow component of original systems converges to the mild solution of the averaging equation under $L^{p}(1<p<α)$ sense. Finally, using the results of averaging principle for stochastic dynamical system with two-time scales, we show that the synchronization effect is persisted provided equilibria are replaced by stationary random solutions.
Using Zvonkin's transform and the Poisson equation in $R^d$ with a parameter, we prove the averaging principle for stochastic differential equations with time-dependent Hölder continuous coefficients. Sharp convergence rates with order $(α\wedge1)/2$ in the strong sense and $(α/2)\wedge1$ in the weak sense are obtained, considerably extending the existing results in the literature. Moreover, we prove that the convergence of the multi-scale system to the effective equation depends only on the regularity of the coefficients of the equation for the slow variable, and does not depend on the regula…
We prove a fractional averaging principle for interacting slow-fast systems. The mode of convergence is in Hölder norm in probability. The main technical result is a quenched ergodic theorem on the conditioned fractional dynamics. We also establish geometric ergodicity for a class of fractional-driven stochastic differential equations, improving a recent result of Panloup and Richard.
