Analytic Residues along Algebraic Cycles

We present a restricted version of some affine Jacobi's residue formula (on an affine algebraic variety) with applications to higher dimensional (and affine) analogues of Wood's (or Reiss's) relations about the interpolation of pieces of analytic manifolds. We also compare algebraic and analytic constructions of residue currents along analytic cycles and sketch some of their main properties. This work extend previous work of the authors in the affine space.

Residue currents and fundamental cycles

We give a factorization of the fundamental cycle of an analytic space in terms of certain differential forms and residue currents associated with a locally free resolution of its structure sheaf. Our result can be seen as a generalization of the classical Poincaré-Lelong formula. It is also a current version of a result by Lejeune-Jalabert, who similarly expressed the fundamental class of a Cohen-Macaulay analytic space in terms of differential forms and cohomological residues.

Residue currents and cycles of complexes of vector bundles

We give a factorization of the cycle of a bounded complex of vector bundles in terms of certain associated differential forms and residue currents. This is a generalization of previous results in the case when the complex is a locally free resolution of the structure sheaf of an analytic space and it can be seen as a generalization of the classical Poincaré-Lelong formula.

La trace via le calcul residuel: une nouvelle version du theoreme d'Abel-inverse, formes abeliennes

We show here how residue calculus (residue currents, Grothendieck residues, duality theorem) can be used to obtain an algebraic characterization of the Abel-transform of a meromorphic form on germs of analytic sets. We prove by this way a stronger version of Abel-inverse theorem with an "algebraic" approach and we show the link with Wood's theorem. Furthermore, we obtain a new method to bound easily the dimension of the vector space of abelian forms on an algebraic projective hypersurface.

Analytic residue theory in the non-complete intersection case

In previous work of the authors and their collaborators (see Progress in Math, vol. 114, Birkäuser, 1993) it was shown how the equivalence of several constructions of residue currents associated to complete intersection families of (germs of) holomorphic functions in ${\bf C}^n$ could be profitably used to solve algebraic problems like effective versions of the Nullstellensatz. Index formula for MacPherson cycles of affine algebraic varieties

We give explicit MacPherson cycles for the Chern-MacPherson class of a closed affine algebraic variety $X$ and for any constructible function $α$ with respect to a complex algebraic Whitney stratification of $X$. We define generalized degrees of the global polar varieties and of the MacPherson cycles and we prove a global index formula for the Euler characteristic of $α$. Whenever $α$ is the Euler obstruction of $X$, this index formula specializes to the Seade-Tibar-Verjovsky global counterpart of the Le-Teissier formula for the local Euler obstruction.

Compact subvarieties with ample normal bundles, algebraicity and cones of cycles

In this note we study two features of submanifolds (subvarieties) with ample normal bundles in a compact Kähler manifold X. First, we study how algebraic X can be, i.e. we investigate the algebraic dimension. Second, we study curves with ample normal bundles in case X is projective. We prove in various cases that the class of the curve is in the interior of the Mori cone.

On proper intersections on a singular analytic space

Given a reduced analytic space $Y$ we introduce a class of {\it nice} cycles, including all effective $\mathbb{Q}$-Cartier divisors. Equidimensional nice cycles that intersect properly allow for a natural intersection product. Using $\bar{\partial}$-potentials and residue calculus we provide an intrinsic way of defining this product. The intrinsic definition makes it possible to prove global formulas. In case $Y$ is smooth all cycles are differences of nice cycles, and so we get a new way to define classical proper intersections.

MultivariateResidues - a Mathematica package for computing multivariate residues

We present the Mathematica package MultivariateResidues, which allows for the efficient evaluation of multivariate residues based on methods from computational algebraic geometry. Multivariate residues appear in several contexts of scattering amplitude computations. Examples include applications to the extraction of master integral coefficients from maximal unitarity cuts, the construction of canonical bases of loop integrals and the construction of tree amplitudes from scattering equations.

Why should one compute periods of algebraic cycles?

In this article we show how the data of integrals of algebraic differential forms over algebraic cycles can be used in order to prove that algebraic and Hodge cycle deformations of a given algebraic cycle are equivalent. As an example, we prove that most of the Hodge and algebraic cycles of the Fermat sextic fourfold cannot be deformed in the underlying parameter space. We then take a difference of two linear cycles inside the Fermat variety, and gather evidences that the Hodge locus corresponding to this is smooth and reduced. Residue Integrals and Waring's Formulas for a Class of Systems of Transcendental Equations in $\mathbb{C}^n$

The present article is focused on the study of a special class of systems of nonlinear transcendental equations for which classical algebraic and symbolic methods are inapplicable. For the purpose of the study of such systems, we develop a method for computing residue integrals with integration over certain cycles. Periods of linear algebraic cycles

In this article we use a theorem of Carlson and Griffiths and compute periods of linear algebraic cycles inside the Fermat variety of even dimension $n$ and degree $d$. As an application, for examples of $n$ and $d$ we prove that the locus of hypersurfaces containing two linear cycles whose intersection is of low dimension, is a reduced component of the Hodge locus in the underlying parameter space. A characterization of real holomorphic chains and applications in representing homology classes by algebraic cycles

We show that a $2k$-current $T$ on a complex manifold is a real holomorphic $k$-chain if and only if $T$ is locally real rectifiable, $d$-closed and has $\mathcal{H}^{2k}$-locally finite support. This result is applied to study homology classes represented by algebraic cycles.
