Poisson superpair is a pair of Poisson superalgebra structures on a super commutative associative algebra, whose any linear combination is also a Poisson superalgebra structure. In this paper, we first construct certain linear and quadratic Poisson superpairs over a finite-dimensional or semi-finitely-filtered polarized $\Bbb{Z}_2$-graded associative algebra. Then we give a construction of certain Hamiltonian superpairs in the formal variational calculus over any finite-dimensional $\Bbb{Z}_2$-graded associative algebra with a supersymmetric nondegenerate associative bilinear form. Our constructions are based on the Adler mapping in a general sense. Our works in this paper can be viewed as noncommutative generalizations of the Adler-Gel'fand-Dikii Hamiltonian pair. As a preparatory work, some structural properties of polarized associative algebras have been studied.
Let $\{{\cdot},{\cdot}\}_{\boldsymbol{\mathcal{P}}}$ be a variational Poisson bracket in a field model on an affine bundle $π$ over an affine base manifold $M^m$. Denote by $\times$ the commutative associative multiplication in the Poisson algebra $\boldsymbol{\mathcal{A}}$ of local functionals $Γ(π)\to\Bbbk$ that take field configurations to numbers. By applying the techniques from geometry of iterated variations, we make well defined the deformation quantization map ${\times}\mapsto{\star}={\times}+\hbar\,\{{\cdot},{\cdot}\}_{\boldsymbol{\mathcal{P}}}+\bar{o}(\hbar)$ that produces a noncommu…
We discuss double Poisson structures in sense of M. Van den Bergh on free associative algebras focusing on the case of quadratic Poisson brackets. We establish their relations with an associative version of Young-Baxter equations, we study a bi-hamiltonian property of the linear-quadratic pencil of the double Poisson structure and propose a classification of the quadratic double Poisson brackets in the case of the algebra with two free generators. Many new examples of quadratic double Poisson brackets are proposed.
The paper is devoted to the Poisson brackets compatible with multiplication in associative algebras. These brackets are shown to be quadratic and their relations with the classical Yang--Baxter equation are revealed. The paper also contains a description of Poisson Lie structures on Lie groups whose Lie algebras are adjacent to an associative structure.
Quadratic Poisson brackets on associative algebras are studied. Such a bracket compatible with the multiplication is related to a differentiation in tensor square of the underlying algebra. Jacobi identity means that this differentiation satisfies a classical Yang--Baxter equation. Corresponding Lie groups are canonically equipped with a Poisson Lie structure. A way to quantize such structures is suggested.
The integrals of motion of the classical two dimensional superintegrable systems with quadratic integrals of motion close in a restrained quadratic Poisson algebra, whose the general form is investigated. Each classical superintegrable problem has a quantum counterpart, a quantum superintegrable system. The quadratic Poisson algebra is deformed to a quantum associative algebra, the finite dimensional representations of this algebra are calculated by using a deformed parafermion oscillator technique. It is shown that, the finite dimensional representations of the quadratic algebra are determine…
The aim of the note is to provide an introduction to the algebraic, geometric and quantum field theoretic ideas that lie behind the Kontsevich-Cattaneo-Felder formula for the quantization of Poisson structures. We show how the quantization formula itself naturally arises when one imposes the following two requirements to a Feynman integral: on the one side it has to reproduce the given Poisson structure as the first order term of its perturbative expansion; on the other side its three-point functions should describe an associative algebra. It is further shown how the Magri-Koszul brackets on 1…
We propose a simple approach to formal deformations of associative algebras. It exploits the machinery of multiplicative coresolutions of an associative algebra A in the category of A-bimodules. Specifically, we show that certain first-order deformations of A extend to all orders and we derive explicit recurrent formulas determining this extension. In physical terms, this may be regarded as the deformation quantization of noncommutative Poisson structures on A.
In this paper, we first recall the notion of (noncommutative) Poisson conformal algebras and describe some constructions of them. Then we study the formal distribution (noncommutative) Poisson algebras and coefficient (noncommutative) Poisson algebras. Next, we introduce the notion of conformal formal deformations of commutative associative conformal algebras and show that Poisson conformal algebras are the corresponding semi-classical limits. At last, we develop the cohomology theory of noncommutative Poisson conformal algebras and use this cohomology to study their deformations.
We introduce a new type of noncommutative Poisson structure on associative algebras. It induces Poisson structures on the moduli spaces classifying semisimple modules. Path algebras of doubled quivers and preprojective algebras have noncommutative Poisson structures given by the necklace Lie algebra.
An admissible Poisson algebra (or briefly, an adm-Poisson algebra) gives an equivalent presentation with only one operation for a Poisson algebra. We establish a bialgebra theory for adm-Poisson algebras independently and systematically, including but beyond the corresponding results on Poisson bialgebras given in [27]. Explicitly, we introduce the notion of adm-Poisson bialgebras which are equivalent to Manin triples of adm-Poisson algebras as well as Poisson bialgebras. The direct correspondence between adm-Poisson bialgebras with one comultiplication and Poisson bialgebras with one cocommut…
We prove that a connected commutator (or NC) complete associative algebra can be recovered in the derived setting from its abelianization together with its natural induced structure. Specifically, we prove an equivalence between connected derived commutator complete associative algebras and connected commutative algebras equipped with a coaction of the comonad arising from the adjunction between associative and commutative algebras. This provides a Koszul dual description of connected derived commutator (or NC) complete associative algebras and furthermore may be interpreted as a theory of rel…
We introduce the notion of universal odd generalized Poisson superalgebra associated to an associative algebra A, by generalizing a construction made in [5]. By making use of this notion we give a complete classification of simple linearly compact (generalized) n-Nambu-Poisson algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero.
We connect generalizations of Poisson algebras with the classical and associative Yang-Baxter equations. In particular, we prove that solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation on a vector space V are equivalent to ``twisted'' Poisson algebra structures on the tensor algebra TV. Here, ``twisted'' refers to working in the category of graded vector spaces equipped with S_n-actions in degree n. We show that the associative Yang-Baxter equation is similarly related to the double Poisson algebras of Van den Bergh. We generalize to L-infinity-algebras and define ``infinity'' versions of Yang-Ba…
Let X be a smooth algebraic variety over a field of characteristic 0. We introduce the notion of twisted associative (resp. Poisson) deformation of the structure sheaf O_X. These are stack-like versions of usual deformations. We prove that there is a twisted quantization map from twisted Poisson deformations to twisted associative deformations, which is canonical and bijective on equivalence classes.
The main purpose of this work is to develop the basic notions of the Lie theory for commutative algebras. We introduce a class of $\mathbbZ_2$-graded commutative but not associative algebras that we call ``Lie antialgebras''. These algebras are closely related to Lie (super)algebras and, in some sense, link together commutative and Lie algebras. The main notions we define in this paper are: representations of Lie antialgebras, an analog of the Lie-Poisson bivector (which is not Poisson) and central extensions. We also classify simple finite-dimensional Lie antialgebras.
In our earlier article [Lett. Math. Phys. 107 (2017), 475-503, arXiv:1409.8188], we explicitly described a topological Hopf algebroid playing the role of the noncommutative phase space of Lie algebra type. Ping Xu has shown that every deformation quantization leads to a Drinfeld twist of the associative bialgebroid of h-adic series of differential operators on a fixed Poisson manifold. In the case of linear Poisson structures, the twisted bialgebroid essentially coincides with our construction. Using our explicit description of the Hopf algebroid, we compute the corresponding Drinfeld twist ex…
Given a Lie algebra, there uniquely exists a Poisson algebra which is called a Lie-Poisson algebra over the Lie algebra. We will prove that given a Loday/Leibniz algebra there exists uniquely a noncommutative Poisson algebra over the Loday algebra. The noncommutative Poisson algebras are called the Loday-Poisson algebras. In the super/graded cases, the Loday-Poisson bracket is regarded as a noncommutative version of classical (linear) Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket. It will be shown that the Loday-Poisson algebras form a special subclass of Aguiar's dual-prePoisson algebras. We also study a proble…
Lie conformal algebras are useful tools for studying vertex operator algebras and their representations. In this paper, we establish close relations between Poisson conformal algebras and representations of Lie conformal algebras. We also calculate explicitly Poisson conformal brackets on the associated graded conformal algebras of universal associative conformal envelopes of Virasoro conformal algebra and Neveu--Schwartz conformal superalgebra.
Crawley-Boevey introduced the definition of a noncommutative Poisson structure on an associative algebra A that extends the notion of the usual Poisson bracket. Let V be a symplectic manifold and G be a finite group of symplectimorphisms of V. Consider the twisted group algebra A=C[V]#G. We produce a counterexample to prove that it is not always possible to define a noncommutative poisson structure on C[V]#G that extends the Poisson bracket on C[V]^G.
Let X be a smooth algebraic variety over a field K containing the real numbers. We introduce the notion of twisted associative (resp. Poisson) deformation of the structure sheaf of X. These are stack-like versions of usual deformations. We prove that there is a twisted quantization operation from twisted Poisson deformations to twisted associative deformations, which is canonical and bijective on gauge equivalence classes. This result extends work of Kontsevich, and our own earlier work, on deformation quantization of algebraic varieties.

There is a canonical derived Poisson structure on the universal enveloping algebra $\mathcal{U}\mathfrak{a}$ of a (DG) Lie algebra $\mathfrak{a}$ that is Koszul dual to a cyclic cocommutative (DG) coalgebra. Interesting special cases of this derived Poisson structure include (an analog of) the Chas-Sullivan bracket on string topology. We study how certain derived character of $\mathfrak{a}$ intertwine this derived Poisson structure with the induced Poisson structure on the representation homology of $\mathfrak{a}$. In addition, we obtain an analog of one of our main results for associative alg…
We formulate an analog of Inverse Scattering Method for integrable systems on noncommutative associative algebras. In particular we define Hamilton flows, Casimir elements and noncommutative analog of the Lax matrix. The noncommutative Lax element generates infinite family of commuting Hamilton flows on an associative algebra. The proposed approach to integrable systems on associative algebras satisfy certain universal property, in particular it incorporates both classical and quantum integrable systems as well as provides a basis for further generalization. We motivate our definition by expli…
We will introduce an associative (or quantum) version of Poisson structure tensors. This object is defined as an operator satisfying a "generalized" Rota-Baxter identity of weight zero. Such operators are called generalized Rota-Baxter operators. We will show that generalized Rota-Baxter operators are characterized by a cocycle condition so that Poisson structures are so. By analogy with twisted Poisson structures, we propose a new operator "twisted Rota-Baxter operators" which is a natural generalization of generalized Rota-Baxter operators. It is known that classical Rota-Baxter operators ar…
We introduce a dual notion of the Poisson algebra by exchanging the roles of the two binary operations in the Leibniz rule defining the Poisson algebra. We show that the transposed Poisson algebra thus defined not only shares common properties of the Poisson algebra, including the closure under taking tensor products and the Koszul self-duality as an operad, but also admits a rich class of identities. More significantly, a transposed Poisson algebra naturally arises from a Novikov-Poisson algebra by taking the commutator Lie algebra of the Novikov algebra. Consequently, the classic constructio…
Deformation theory of associative algebras and in particular of Poisson algebras is reviewed. The role of an almost contraction leading to a canonical solution of the corresponding Maurer-Cartan equation is noted. This role is reminiscent of the homotopical perturbation lemma, with the infinitesimal deformation cocycle as initiator. Applied to star-products, we show how Moyal's formula can be obtained using such an almost contraction and conjecture that the merger operation provides a canonical solution at least in the case of linear Poisson structures.
Using methods of computer algebra, especially Gröbner bases for submodules of free modules over polynomial rings, we solve a classification problem in theory of algebraic operads: we show that the only nontrivial (possibly inhomogeneous) distributive law between the operad of Lie algebras and the operad of commutative associative algebras is given by the Livernet-Loday formula deforming the Poisson operad into the associative operad.
Based on work done by Bonechi, Cattaneo, Felder and Zabzine on Poisson sigma models, we formally show that Kontsevich's star product can be obtained from the twisted convolution algebra of the geometric quantization of a Lie 2-groupoid, one which integrates the Poisson structure. We show that there is an analogue of the Poisson sigma model which is valued in Lie 1-groupoids and which can often be defined non-perturbatively; it can be obtained by symplectic reduction using the quantization of the Lie 2-groupoid. We call these groupoid-valued sigma models and we argue that, when they exist, they…
We define an associative algebra AS_h(S) generated by framed arcs and links over a punctured surface S which is a quantization of the Poisson algebra C(S) of arcs and curves on S. We then construct a Poisson algebra homomorphism from C(S) to the space of smooth functions on the decorated Teichmuller space endowed with the Weil-Petersson Poisson structure. The construction relies on a collection of geodesic lengths identities in hyperbolic geometry which generalize Penner's Ptolemy relation, the trace identities and Wolpert's cosine formula. As a consequence, we derive an explicit formula for t…
A double Poisson bracket, in the sense of M. Van den Bergh, is an operation on an associative algebra $A$ which induces a Poisson bracket on each representation space $\operatorname{Rep}(A,n)$ in an explicit way. In this note, we study the impact of changing the Leibniz rules underlying a double bracket. This change amounts to make a suitable choice of $A$-bimodule structure on $A\otimes A$. In the most important cases, we describe how the choice of $A$-bimodule structure fixes an analogue to Jacobi identity, and we obtain induced Poisson brackets on representation spaces. The present theory a…
I prove that every finite-dimensional Poisson manifold X admits a canonical deformation quantization. Informally, it means that the set of equivalence classes of associative algebras close to the algebra of functions on X is in one-to-one correspondence with the set of equivalence classes of Poisson structures on X modulo diffeomorphisms. In fact, a more general statement is proven ("Formality conjecture"), relating the Lie superalgebra of polyvector fields on X and the Hochschild complex of the algebra of functions on X. Coefficients in explicit formulas for the deformed product can be interp…
CGL extensions, named after G. Cauchon, K. Goodearl, and E. Letzter, are a special class of noncommutative algebras that are iterated Ore extensions of associative algebras with compatible torus actions. Examples of CGL extensions include quantum Schubert cells and quantized coordinate rings of double Bruhat cells. CGL extensions have been studied extensively in connection with quantum groups and quantum cluster algebras. For a field $\mathbf{k}$ of characteristic $0$, let $L=\mathbf{k}[q^{\pm 1}]$ be the $\mathbf{k}$-algebra of Laurent polynomials in the single variable $q$ and let $\mathbb{K…
We study the shifted analogue of the "Lie--Poisson" construction for $L_\infty$ algebroids and we prove that any $L_\infty$ algebroid naturally gives rise to shifted derived Poisson manifolds. We also investigate derived Poisson structures from a purely algebraic perspective and, in particular, we establish a homotopy transfer theorem for derived Poisson algebras. As an application, we prove that, given a Lie pair $(L,A)$, the space $\operatorname{tot}Ω^{\bullet}_A(Λ^\bullet(L/A))$ admits a degree $(+1)$ derived Poisson algebra structure with the wedge product as associative multiplication and…
This book offers an introduction to vertex algebra based on a new approach. The new approach says that a vertex algebra is an associative algebra such that the underlying Lie algebra is a vertex Lie algebra. In particular, vertex algebras can be formulated in terms of a single multiplication and they behave like associative algebras with respect to it. Chapter 1 is the introduction. In chapter 2 we discuss many examples of vertex Lie algebras and we show that vertex Lie algebras form a full subcategory of the category of "local" Lie algebras. In chapter 3 we introduce associative, commutative,…
It is shown that the only associative algebras with a trivial center defined on functions of $\Rl^N$ by an integral kernel are generalized Moyal algebras, corresponding to some particular operator ordering. Similarly, the only such Lie algebras are generalized Moyal or Poisson Lie algebras. In both cases these structures are isomorphic respectively to the Moyal algebra, the Moyal Lie algebra and the Poisson Lie algebra. These results are independent of $N$, which is necessarily even, and generalize previous work on the subject.
One way of reconciling classical and quantum mechanics is deformation quantization, which involves deforming the commutative algebra of functions on a Poisson manifold to a non-commutative, associative algebra, reminiscent of the space of quantum observables. This depends on a formal parameter $\hbar$, so that the original pointwise product is recovered when $\hbar=0$. In 1997 Kontsevich showed that a deformation quantization exists for every Poisson manifold. He furthermore gave a simple, combinatorial formula for producing a quantization of any Poisson structure on $\mathbb{R}^n$. The primar…
Cohomology and deformation theories are developed for Poisson algebras starting with the more general concept of a Leibniz pair, namely of an associative algebra $A$ together with a Lie algebra $L$ mapped into the derivations of $A$. A bicomplex (with both Hochschild and Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomologies) is essential.
In this paper we study associative algebras with a Poisson algebra structure on the center acting by derivations on the rest of the algebra. These structures, which we call Poisson fibred algebras, appear in the study of quantum groups at roots of 1 and related algebras, as well as in the representation theory of affine Lie algebras at the critical level. Poisson fibred algebras lead to a generalization of Poisson geometry, which we develop in the paper. We also take up the general study of noncommutative spaces which are close to enough commutative ones so that they contain enough points to h…
This paper gives a systematic study of matching dialgebras corresponding to the operad $As^{(2)}$ in \cite{Zi} as the only Koszul self dual operad there other than the operads of associative algebras and Poisson algebras. The close relationship of matching dialgebras with semi-homomorphisms and matched pairs of associative algebras are established. By anti-symmetrizing, matching dialgerbas are also shown to give compatible Lie algebras, pre-Lie algebras and PostLie algebras. By the rewriting method, the operad of matching dialgebras is shown to be Koszul and the free objects are constructed in…
Non-commutativity and non-associativity are quite natural in string theory. For open strings it appear due to the presence of non-vanishing background two-form in the world volume of Dirichlet brane, while in closed string theory the flux compactifications with non-vanishing three-form also lead to non-geometric backgrounds. In this paper, working in the framework of deformation quantization, we study the violation of associativity imposing the condition that the associator of three elements should vanish whenever each two of them are equal. The corresponding star products are called alternati…
Let G be a connected reductive group over an algebraically closed field K of characteristic 0, X an affine symplectic variety equipped with a Hamiltonian action of G. Further, let * be a G-invariant Fedosov star-product on X such that the Hamiltonian action is quantized. We establish an isomorphism between the center of the associative algebra K[X][[h]]^G and the algebra of formal power series with coefficients in the Poisson center of K[X]^G.
We introduce a formalism for derived moduli functors on differential graded associative algebras, which leads to non-commutative enhancements of derived moduli stacks and naturally gives rise to structures such as Hall algebras. Descent arguments are not available in the non-commutative context, so we establish new methods for constructing various kinds of atlases. The formalism permits the development of the theory of shifted bi-symplectic and shifted double Poisson structures in the companion paper.
