Associated to the class of restricted-weak type weights for the Hardy operator, we find a new class of Lorentz spaces for which the normability property holds. This result is analogous to the characterization given by Sawyer for the classical Lorentz spaces. We also show that these new spaces are very natural to study the existence of equivalent norms described in terms of the maximal function
In this paper we introduce Hardy-Lorentz spaces with variable exponents associated to dilation in ${\Bbb R}^n$. We establish maximal characterizations and atomic decompositions for our variable exponent anisotropic Hardy-Lorentz spaces.
In this paper we prove sharp weighted Hardy-type inequalities on Carnot groups with the homogeneous norm $N=u^{1/(2-Q)}$ associated to Folland's fundamental solution $u$ for the sub-Laplacian $Δ_{\mathbb{G}}$. We also prove uncertainty principle, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg and Rellich inequalities on Carnot groups.
We establish improved versions of the Hardy and Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequalities by replacing the standard Dirichlet energy with some nonlocal nonconvex functionals which have been involved in estimates for the topological degree of continuous maps from a sphere into itself and characterizations of Sobolev spaces.
We give sharp remainder terms of $L^{p}$ and weighted Hardy and Rellich inequalities on one of most general subclasses of nilpotent Lie groups, namely the class of homogeneous groups. As consequences, we obtain analogues of the generalised classical Hardy and Rellich inequalities and the uncertainty principle on homogeneous groups. We also prove higher order inequalities of Hardy-Rellich type, all with sharp constants. A number of identities are derived including weighted and higher order types.

In this paper a reduction and equivalence theorems for the boundedness of the composition of a quasilinear operator $T$ with the Hardy and Copson operators in weighted Lebesgue spaces are proved. To estimate the optimal constant in Hardy-type inequalities, some variational formulas and approximating procedures are introduced. The known basic estimates are improved considerably. The results are illustrated by typical examples. It is shown that the sharp factor is meaningful for each finite interval and a classical sharp model is re-examined.
In this paper, we will prove several new inequalities of Hardy's types with explicit constants. The main results will be proved by making use of some generalizations of Opial's type inequalities and Hölder's inequality. To the best of the author's knowledge this method has not been used before in investigation of this type of inequalities. We give a sufficient condition for limiting Sobolev and Hardy inequalities to hold on stratified homogeneous groups. In the Euclidean case, this condition reduces to the known cancelling necessary and sufficient condition. We obtain in particular endpoint Korn--Sobolev and Korn--Hardy inequalities on stratified homogeneous groups.
In this paper, by using Jensen's inequality and Chebyshev integral inequality, some generalizations and new refined Hardy type integral inequalities are obtained. In addition, the corresponding reverse relation are also proved.

Certain rearrangement inequalities of a type considered by Hardy, Riesz, and Brascamp-Lieb-Luttinger are studied. Subsets of the real line that extremize these inequalities are characterized. We prove certain vector valued inequalities related to Littlewood-Paley theory on Euclidean spaces. They can be used in proving characterization of the Hardy spaces in terms of Littlewood-Paley operators by methods of real analysis.
We prove fractional order Hardy inequalities on open sets under a combined fatness and visibility condition on the boundary. We demonstrate by counterexamples that fatness conditions alone are not sufficient for such Hardy inequalities to hold. In addition, we give a short exposition of various fatness conditions related to our main result, and apply fractional Hardy inequalities in connection to the boundedness of extension operators for fractional Sobolev spaces.
We prove an inequality of Hardy type for functions in Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. The distance involved is being measured to a given Ahlfors d-regular set in R^n, with n-1<d<n. As an application of the Hardy inequality, we consider boundedness of pointwise multiplication operators, and extension problems.
We give new proofs of Hardy space estimates for fractional and singular integral operators on weighted and variable exponent Hardy spaces. Our proofs consist of several interlocking ideas: finite atomic decompositions in terms of $L^\infty$ atoms, vector-valued inequalities for maximal and other operators, and Rubio de Francia extrapolation. Many of these estimates are not new, but we give new and substantially simpler proofs, which in turn significantly simplifies the proofs of the Hardy spaces inequalities.
In this paper, we investigate the two-weight Hardy inequalities on metric measure space possessing polar decompositions for the case $p=1$ and $1 \leq q <\infty.$ This result complements the Hardy inequalities obtained in \cite{RV} in the case $1< p\le q<\infty.$ The case $p=1$ requires a different argument and does not follow as the limit of known inequalities for $p>1.$ As a byproduct, we also obtain the best constant in the established inequality. The current status concerning Hardy-type inequalities with sharp constants is presented and described in a unified convexity way. In particular, it is then natural to replace the Lebesgue measure $dx$ with the Haar measure $dx/x.$ There are also derived some new two-sided Hardy-type inequalities for monotone functions, where not only the two constants are sharp but also where the involved function spaces are (more) optimal. We prove fractional Sobolev-Poincaré inequalities, capacitary versions of fractional Poincaré inequalities, and pointwise and localized fractional Hardy inequalities in a metric space equipped with a doubling measure. Our results generalize and extend earlier work where such inequalities have been considered in the Euclidean spaces or in the non-fractional setting in metric spaces. The results concerning pointwise and localized variants of fractional Hardy inequalities are new even in the Euclidean case.
We establish both sufficient and necessary conditions for the validity of the so-called Hardy-Sobolev inequalities on open sets of the Euclidean space. These inequalities form a natural interpolating scale between the (weighted) Sobolev inequalities and the (weighted) Hardy inequalities. The Assouad dimension of the complement of the open set turns out to play an important role in both sufficient and necessary conditions.

In this paper, we prove the Hardy-Leray inequality and related inequalities in variable Lebesgue spaces. Our proof is based on a version of the Stein-Weiss inequality in variable Lebesgue spaces derived from two weight inequalities due to Melchiori and Pradolini. We also discuss an application of our results to establish an existence result for the degenerate $\pp$-Laplace operator.
Let $Ω$ be an open set in a metric measure space $X$. Our main result gives an equivalence between the validity of a weighted Hardy-Sobolev inequality in $Ω$ and quasiadditivity of a weighted capacity with respect to Whitney covers of $Ω$. Important ingredients in the proof include the use of a discrete convolution as a capacity test function and a Maz'ya type characterization of weighted Hardy-Sobolev inequalities.
We present a unified strategy to derive Hardy-Poincaré inequalities on bounded and unbounded domains. The approach allows proving a general Hardy-Poincaré inequality from which the classical Poincaré and Hardy inequalities immediately follow. The idea also applies to the more general context of variable exponent Sobolev spaces. The argument, concise and constructive, does not require a priori knowledge of compactness results and retrieves geometric information on the best constants.
