Multiplicity of Invariant Algebraic Curves and Darboux Integrability

We define four different kinds of multiplicity of an invariant algebraic curve for a given polynomial vector field and investigate their relationships. After taking a closer look at the singularities and at the line of infinity, we improve the Darboux theory of integrability using these new notions of multiplicity.

Darboux theory of integrability for real polynomial vector fields on $\sss^n$

This is a survey on the Darboux theory of integrability for polynomial vector fields, first in $\R^n$ and second in the $n$-dimensional sphere $\sss^n$. We also provide new results about the maximum number of parallels and meridians that a polynomial vector field $\X$ on $\sss^n$ can have in function of its degree. These results in some sense extend the known result on the maximum number of hyperplanes that a polynomial vector field $\Y$ in $\R^n$ can have in function of the degree of $\Y$.

Liouvillian integrability of polynomial differential systems

M.F. Singer [Liouvillian first integrals of differential equations, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 333 (1992), 673--688] proved the equivalence between Liouvillian integrability and Darboux integrability for two dimensional polynomial differential systems. From the Birkhoff-Gustavson normalization to the Bertrand-Darboux integrability condition

The Bertrand-Darboux integrability condition for a certain class of perturbed harmonic oscillators is studied from the viewpoint of the Birkhoff-Gustavson(BG)-normalization: By solving an inverse problem of the BG-normalization on computer algebra, it is shown that if the perturbed harmonic oscillators with a homogeneous-{\it cubic} polynomial potential and with a homogeneous-{\it quartic} polynomial potentials admit the same BG-normalization up to degree-4 then both oscillators satisfy the Bertrand-Darboux integrability condition.

We study the integrability in the Liouville sense of natural Hamiltonian systems with a homogeneous rational potential $V(\vq)$. Inverse Approach In The Study Of Ordinary Differential Equations

We extend the Eruguin result exposed in the paper "Construction of the whole set of ordinary differential equations with a given integral curve" published in 1952 and construct a differential system in $\Bbb{R}^N$ which admits a given set of the partial integrals, in particular we study the case when theses functions are polynomials. We construct a non-Darboux integrable planar polynomial system of degree $n$ with one invariant irreducible algebraic curve $g(x,y)=0$. For this system we analyze the Darboux integrability, Poincare's problem and 16th's Hilbert problem for algebraic limit cycles.
