This is a continuation of the authors' previous work [math.AT/9910001] on classification of equivariant complex vector bundles over a circle. In this paper we classify equivariant real vector bundles over a circle with a compact Lie group action, by characterizing the fiber representations of them, and by using the result of the complex case. We also treat the triviality of them. The basic phenomenon is similar to the complex case but more complicated here.
We compare two notions of $G$-fiber bundles and $G$-principal bundles in the literature, with an aim to clarify early results in equivariant bundle theory that are needed in current work of equivariant algebraic topology. We also give proofs of some equivariant generalizations of well-known non-equivariant results involving the classifying space.
A generalisation of the equivariant Dixmier-Douady invariant is constructed as a second-degree cohomology class within a new semi-equivariant Čech cohomology theory. This invariant obstructs liftings of semi-equivariant principal bundles that are associated to central exact sequences of structure groups in which each structure group is acted on by the equivariance group. The results and methods described can be applied to the study of complex vector bundles equipped with linear/anti-linear actions, such as Atiyah's Real vector bundles.
We study the fixed points of the universal G-equivariant n-dimensional complex vector bundle and obtain a decomposition formula in terms of twisted equivariant universal complex vector bundles of smaller dimension. We use this decomposition to describe the fixed points of the complex equivariant K-theory spectrum and the equivariant unitary bordism groups for adjacent families of subgroups.
We provide several results on the existence of metrics of non-negative sectional curvature on vector bundles over certain cohomogeneity one manifolds and homogeneous spaces up to suitable stabilization. Beside explicit constructions of the metrics, this is achieved by identifying equivariant structures upon these vector bundles via a comparison of their equivariant and non-equivariant K-theory. For this, in particular, we transcribe equivariant K-theory to equivariant rational cohomology and investigate surjectivity properties of induced maps in the Borel fibration via rational homotopy theory…
We compute rational $T$-equivariant elliptic cohomology of CP(V), where $T$ is the circle group, and CP(V) is the $T$-space of complex lines for a finite dimensional complex $T$-representation V. Starting from an elliptic curve C over the complex numbers and a coordinate data around the identity, we achieve this computation by proving that the $T$-equivariant elliptic cohomology theory $EC_T$ built in [Gre05], and the $T^2$-equivariant elliptic cohomology theory $EC_{T^2}$ built in [Bar22] are 1x$T$-split. This result allows us to reduce the computation of $EC_T(CP(V))$ to the computation of $…
We proof that having boundary of standard 3-dimensional simplex $\partial Δ^3$ as a base of triangulation one can triangulate only trivial and Hopf circle bundles.
We investigate a PL topology question: which circle bundles can be triangulated over a given triangulation of the base? The question got a simple answer emphasizing the role of minimal triangulations encoded by local systems of circular permutations of vertices of the base simplices. The answer is based on an experimental fact: classical Huntington transitivity axiom for cyclic orders can be expressed as the universal binary Chern cocycle.
We define an elliptic version of the stable envelope of Maulik and Okounkov for the equivariant elliptic cohomology of cotangent bundles of Grassmannians. It is a version of the construction proposed by Aganagic and Okounkov and is based on weight functions and shuffle products. We construct an action of the dynamical elliptic quantum group associated with $\mathfrak{gl}_2$ on the equivariant elliptic cohomology of the union of cotangent bundles of Grassmannians. The generators of the elliptic quantum groups act as difference operators on sections of admissible bundles, a notion introduced in …
