Some new results on plane F_{q^2}-maximal curves are stated and proved. It is known that the degree d of such curves is upper bounded by q+1 and that d=q+1 if and only if the curve is F_{q^2}-isomorphic to the Hermitian. We show that d\le q+1 can be improved to d\le (q+2)/2 apart from the case d=q+1 or q\le 5. This upper bound turns out to be sharp for q odd. We also study the maximality of Hurwitz curves of degree n+1. We show that they are F_{q^2}-maximal if and only if (q+1) divides (n^2-n+1). Such a criterion is extended to a wider family of curves.
The classification of maximal plane curves of degree $3$ over $\mathbb{F}_4$ will be given, which complements Hirschfeld-Storme-Thas-Voloch's theorem on a characterization of Hermitian curves in $\mathbb{P}^2$. This complementary part should be understood as the classification of Sziklai's example of maximal plane curves of degree $q-1$ over $\mathbb{F}_q$. Although two maximal plane curves of degree $3$ over $\mathbb{F}_4$ up to projective equivalence over $\mathbb{F}_4$ appear, they are birationally equivalent over $\mathbb{F}_4$ each other.
We study the relation between the type of a double point of a plane curve and the curvilinear 0-dimensional subschemes of the curve at the point. An Algorithm related to a classical procedure for the study of double points via osculating curves is described and proved. Eventually we look for a way to create examples of rational plane curves with given singularities $A_s$.
Real plane algebraic curves with asymptotically maximal number of even ovals
长期以来,人们都知道,当k趋于无穷大时,射影平面上的2k次非奇异实代数曲线的$ even ovals. We show here that this upper bound is asymptotically sharp, that is to say we construct a family of curves of degree 2k such that p/k^2 tends to 7/4$不能超过7/2*k^2-9/4*k+3/2 $ even ovals. We show here that this upper bound is asymptotically sharp, that is to say we construct a family of curves of degree 2k such that p/k^2 tends to 7/4$,其中p是曲线的偶数椭圆的个数。我们还证明了同样的结果是有效的处理奇数椭圆。
Below we consider the evolutes of plane real-algebraic curves and discuss some of their complex and real-algebraic properties. In particular, for a given degree $d\ge 2$, we provide lower bounds for the following four numerical invariants: 1) the maximal number of times a real line can intersect the evolute of a real-algebraic curve of degree $d$; 2) the maximal number of real cusps which can occur on the evolute of a real-algebraic curve of degree $d$; 3) the maximal number of (cru)nodes which can occur on the dual curve to the evolute of a real-algebraic curve of degree $d$; 4) the maximal n…
We show some examples of topological zeta functions associated to an isolated plane curve singular point and an allowed, in the sense of Némethi and Veys, differential form that have several poles of order two. This is in contrast to the case of the standard differential form where, as showed by Veys for plane curves and by Nicaise and Xu in general, there is always at most one pole of order two.
Freeness versus maximal global Tjurina number for plane curves
我们给出了几乎自由平面曲线的一个特征,它是由它们的整体Tjurina数表示的,类似于自由曲线是具有最大Tjurina数的曲线的特征,这是由于A. A. du Plessis和C.T.C.墙本文还证明了具有一维对称性的不可约平面曲线几乎是自由的。自由曲线的一个新的数值特征和近自由曲线的一个简单特征,根据他们的syzygies结束这一注记。
Motivated by Buchstaber's and Terzic' work on the complex Grassmannians G(2,4) and G(2,5) we describe the moment map and the orbit space of oriented Grassmannians of planes under the action of a maximal compact torus. Our main tool is the realisation of these oriented Grassmannians as smooth complex quadric hypersurfaces and the relatively simple Geometric Invariant Theory of the corresponding algebraic torus action.
There is a close relationship between the embedded topology of complex plane curves and the (group-theoretic) arithmetic of elliptic curves. In a recent paper, we studied the topology of some arrangements of curves which include a special smooth component, via the torsion properties induced by the divisors in the special curve associated to the remaining components, which is an arithmetic property. When this special curve has maximal flexes, there is a natural isomorphism between its Jacobian variety and the degree zero part of its Picard group. In this paper we consider curve arrangements whi…
First we give a sharp upper bound for the cardinal $m$ of a minimal set of generators for the module of Jacobian syzygies of a complex projective reduced plane curve $C$. Next we discuss the sharpness of an upper bound, given by A. du Plessis and C.T.C. Wall, for the global Tjurina number of such a curve $C$, in terms of its degree $d$ and of the minimal degree $r\leq d-1$ of a Jacobian syzygy. We give a homological characterization of the curves whose global Tjurina number equals the du Plessis-Wall upper bound, which implies in particular that for such curves the upper bound for $m$ is also …
Let $\mathcal{F}$ denote a singular holomorphic foliation on $\mathbb{P}^2$ having a finite automorphism group $\mbox{aut}(\mathcal{F})$. Fixed the degree of $\mathcal{F}$, we determine the maximal value that $|\mbox{aut}(\mathcal{F})|$ can take and explicitly exhibit all the foliations attaining this maximal value. Furthermore, we classify the foliations with large but finite automorphism group.
We determine the integral homology of the orbit space of a maximal compact torus action on the Grassmannian Gr(2,5). Our approach uses the well-known Geometric Invariant Theory of the maximal algebraic torus action on this Grassmannian.
Torically maximal curves (known also as simple Harnack curves) are real algebraic curves in the projective plane such that their logarithmic Gauß map is totally real. In this paper we show that hyperplanes in projective spaces are the only torically maximal hypersurfaces of higher dimensions.
