Is a Verma module transformed into another Verma module by a selfequivalence? The answer is affirmative and the proof suggests a notion of standard object in the category of Harish-Chandra modules that coincides often, but not always, with the usual one.
The Vogan Conjectures (sometimes called Kazhdan-Lusztig Conjectures) say that a certain algorithm works both on the category of BGG modules and on the category of Harish-Chandra modules. The Alexandru Conjecture tries to uncover the general property common to these two categories which makes Vogan's algorithm work.
Let $G$ be a semisimple, simply connected algebraic group defined and split over a prime field ${\mathbb F}_p$ of positive characteristic. For a positive integer $r$, let $G_r$ be the $r$th Frobenius kernel of $G$. Let $Q$ be a projective indecomposable (rational) $G_r$-module. The well-known Humprheys-Verma conjecture (cf. \cite{Ballard}) asserts that the $G_r$-action on $Q$ lifts to an rational action of $G$ on $Q$. For $p\geq 2h-2$ (where $h$ is the Coxeter number of $G$), this conjecture was proved by Jantzen in 1980, improving on early work of Ballard. However, it remains open for general…
We study the homomorphisms between scalar generalized Verma modules. We conjecture that any homomorphism between is composition of elementary homomorphisms. The purpose of this article is to show the conjecture is affirmative for many parabolic subalgebras under the assumption that the infinitesimal characters are regular.
We study the restricted Verma modules of an affine Kac-Moody algebra at the critical level with special emphasis on their Jordan-H"older multiplicities. The Feigin-Frenkel conjecture gives a formula for these multiplicities that involves the periodic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. We prove this conjecture for all subgeneric blocks and for the case of anti-dominant simple subquotients.
We show that the Jantzen filtration of a Verma module (possibly singular) coincides with its radical filtration. It implies that the Jantzen Conjecture on Verma modules holds for all infinitesimal characters, while the regular case was settled by Beilinson and Bernstein by geometric methods and reproved by Williamson by an algebraic approach. The coincidence between Jantzen filtration and radical filtration is also generalized to the case of parabolic Verma modules by Shan's results.
In this paper we face the study of the representations of the exceptional Lie superalgebra E(5,10). We recall the construction of generalized Verma modules and give a combinatorial description of the restriction to sl_5 of the Verma module induced by the trivial representation. We use this description to classify morphisms between Verma modules of degree one, two and three proving in these cases a conjecture given by Rudakov. A key tool is the notion of dual morphism between Verma modules.
A recent result of N. Abe implies that the Gabber-Joseph conjecture is true for the first-degree extensions between Verma modules with regular integral highest weights.
We describe the structure of a Verma module with a generic highest weight at the critical level over a symmetrizable affine Lie superalgebra not of the type A(2k,2l)^{(4)}. We obtain the character formula for a simple module with a generic highest weight at the critical level conjectured by V. G. Kac and D. A. Kazhdan.
Assuming the Lusztig conjecture on the irreducible characters for reductive algebraic groups in positive characteristic $p$, which is now a theorem for large $p$, we show that the modules for their Frobenius kernels induced from the simple modules of $p$-regular highest weights for their parabolic subgroups are rigid and determine their Loewy series.
The exceptional infinite-dimensional linearly compact simple Lie superalgebra ${E}(5,10)$, which Kac believes, is the algebra of symmetries of the ${SU}_{5}$ Grand Unified Model. In this paper, we give a proof of Kac and Rudakov's conjecture about the classification of all the degenerate generalized Verma module over ${E}(5,10)$. Also, we work out all the nontrivial singular vectors degree by degree. It is a potential that the representation theory of ${E}(5,10)$ will shed new light on various features of the the ${SU}_{5}$ Grand unified model.
Let $G$ be a reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic, $G_1$ the Frobenius kernel of $G$, and $T$ a maximal torus of $G$. We show that the $G_1T$-Verma modules of singular highest weights are all rigid, determine their Loewy length, and describe their Loewy structure using the periodic Kazhdan-Lusztig $Q$-polynomials. We assume that the characteristic of the field is large enough that, in particular, Lusztig's conjecture for the irreducible $G_1T$-characters hold.
We introduce the notion of essential support of a simple Gelfand-Tsetlin $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-module as an important tool towards understanding the character formula of such module. This support detects the weights in the module having maximal possible Gelfand-Tsetlin multiplicities. Using combinatorial tools we describe the essential supports of the simple socles of the universal tableaux modules. We also prove that every simple Verma module appears as a socle of a universal tableaux module and hence obtain a description of the essential supports of all simple Verma modules. As a consequence, we…
We prove a determinant formula for a parabolic Verma module of a Lie superalgebra, previously conjectured by the second author. Our determinant formula generalizes the previous results of Jantzen for a parabolic Verma module of a (non-super) Lie algebra, and of Kac concerning a (non-parabolic) Verma module for a Lie superalgebra. The resulting formula is expected to have a variety of applications in the study of higher-dimensional supersymmetric conformal field theories. We also discuss irreducibility criteria for the Verma module.
In the first part of this paper the projective dimension of the structural modules in the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ is studied. This dimension is computed for simple, standard and costandard modules. For tilting and injective modules an explicit conjecture relating the result to Lusztig's $\mathbf{a}$-function is formulated (and proved for type $A$). The second part deals with the extension algebra of Verma modules. It is shown that this algebra is in a natural way $\mathbb{Z}^2$-graded and that it has two $\mathbb{Z}$-graded Koszul subalgebras. The dimension of the space $\mathrm{Ext}^1$ int…
We deduce the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture on the multiplicities of simple modules over a simple complex Lie algebra in Verma modules in category O from the equivariant geometric Satake correspondence and the analysis of torus fixed points in zastava spaces. We make similar speculations for the affine Lie algebras and W-algebras.
In this paper the authors provide a complete answer to Donkin's Tilting Module Conjecture for all rank $2$ semisimple algebraic groups and $\text{SL}_{4}(k)$ where $k$ is an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. In the process, new techniques are introduced involving the existence of $(p,r)$-filtrations, Lusztig's character formula, and the $G_{r}$T-radical series for baby Verma modules.
We introduce a suitable adapted ordering for the twisted N=2 superconformal algebra (i.e. with mixed boundary conditions for the fermionic fields). We show that the ordering kernels for complete Verma modules have two elements and the ordering kernels for G-closed Verma modules just one. Therefore, spaces of singular vectors may be two-dimensional for complete Verma modules whilst for G-closed Verma modules they can only be one-dimensional. We give all singular vectors for the levels 1/2, 1, and 3/2 for both complete Verma modules and G-closed Verma modules. We also give explicit examples of d…
We present a computer algebra package based on Magma for performing computations in rational Cherednik algebras at arbitrary parameters and in Verma modules for restricted rational Cherednik algebras. Part of this package is a new general Las Vegas algorithm for computing the head and the constituents of a module with simple head in characteristic zero which we develop here theoretically. This algorithm is very successful when applied to Verma modules for restricted rational Cherednik algebras and it allows us to answer several questions posed by Gordon in some specific cases. We could determi…
Verma modules of superconfomal algebras can have singular vector spaces with dimensions greater than 1. Following a method developed for the Virasoro algebra by Kent, we introduce the concept of adapted orderings on superconformal algebras. We prove several general results on the ordering kernels associated to the adapted orderings and show that the size of an ordering kernel implies an upper limit for the dimension of a singular vector space. We apply this method to the topological N=2 algebra and obtain the maximal dimensions of the singular vector spaces in the topological Verma modules: 0,…
We define analogues of Verma modules for finite W-algebras. By the usual ideas of highest weight theory, this is a first step towards the classification of finite dimensional irreducible modules. Motivated by known results in type A, we then formulate some precise conjectures in the case of nilpotent orbits of standard Levi type.
We analyse the highest weight representations of the N=1 Ramond algebra and show that their structure is richer than previously suggested in the literature. In particular, we show that certain Verma modules over the N=1 Ramond algebra contain degenerate (2-dimensional) singular vector spaces and that in the supersymmetric case they can even contain subsingular vectors. After choosing a suitable ordering for the N=1 Ramond algebra generators we compute the ordering kernel, which turns out to be two-dimensional for complete Verma modules and one-dimensional for G-closed Verma modules. These two-…
We introduce a parametrization of formal deformations of Verma modules of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. A point in the moduli space is called a colouring. We prove that for each colouring $ψ$ satisfying a regularity condition, there is a formal deformation $U_h(ψ)$ of $U(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ acting on the deformed Verma modules. We retrieve in particular the quantum algebra $U_h(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ from a colouring by $q$-numbers. More generally, we establish that regular colourings parametrize a broad family of formal deformations of the Chevalley-Serre presentation of $U(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$. The present paper…
