Quadratic-linar algebras associated with factorizations of noncommutative polynomials and noncommutative differential polynomials

This is the first of series of talks presented at a permanent Rutgers workshop on noncommutative algebra and geometry. We study here quadratic and quadratic-linear algebras defined by factorizations of noncommutative polynomials and differential polynomials. Such algebras posses a natural derivation and give us a new understanding of a nature of noncommutative symmetric functions.

Noncommutative Double Bruhat cells and their factorizations

In the present paper we study noncommutative double Bruhat cells. Our main results are explicit positive matrix factorizations in the cells via quasiminors of matrices with noncommutative coefficents.

Factorizations of Polynomials over Noncommutative Algebras and Sufficient Sets of Edges in Directed Graphs

To directed graphs with unique sink and source we associate a noncommutative associative alsgebra and a polynomial over this algebra. Edges of the graph correspond to pseudo-roots of the polynomial. We give a sufficient condition when coefficients of the polynomial can be rationally expressed via elements of a given set of pseudo-roots (edges). Our results are based on a new theorem for directed graphs also proved in this paper.

Noncommutative algebras associated to complexes and graphs

This is a first of our papers devoted to "noncommutative topology and graph theory". Its origin is the paper math.QA/0002238 by I. Gelfand, V. Retakh, and R.L. Wilson where a new class of noncommutative algebras $Q_n$ was introduced. The algebra $Q_n$ is closely related to factorizations of a generic polynomial of degree $n$ over a division algebra into linear factors.

On the classification and properties of noncommutative duplicates

We give an explicit description of the set of all factorization structures, or twisting maps, existing between the algebras k^2 and k^2, and classify the resulting algebras up to isomorphism. In the process we relate several different approaches formerly taken to deal with this problem, filling a gap that appeared in a recent paper by Cibils. We also provide a counterexample to a result concerning the Hochschild (co)homology appeared in a paper by J.A. Guccione and J.J. Guccione.

Differential Calculus on Quantum Spheres

We study covariant differential calculus on the quantum spheres S_q^2N-1. Two classification results for covariant first order differential calculi are proved. As an important step towards a description of the noncommutative geometry of the quantum spheres, a framework of covariant differential calculus is established, including a particular first order calculus obtained by factorization, higher order calculi and a symmetry concept.

On a class of algebras associated to directed graphs

To any directed graph we associate an algebra with edges of the graph as generators and with relations defined by all pairs of directed paths with the same origin and terminus. Such algebras are related to factorizations of polynomials over noncommutative algebras. We also construct a basis for our algebras associated to layered graphs.

On $q$-commutative power and Laurent series rings at roots of unity

We continue the first and second authors' study of $q$-commutative power series rings $R=k_q[[x_1,\ldots,x_n]]$ and Laurent series rings $L=k_q[[x^{\pm 1}_1,\ldots,x^{\pm 1}_n]]$, specializing to the case in which the commutation parameters $q_{ij}$ are all roots of unity. In this setting, $R$ is a PI algebra, and we can apply results of De Concini, Kac, and Procesi to show that $L$ is an Azumaya algebra whose degree can be inferred from the $q_{ij}$. Classification of differentials and Cartan calculus on bicrossproducts

We provide the Cartan calculus for bicovariant differential forms on bicrossproduct quantum groups $k(M)\lrbicross kG$ associated to finite group factorizations $X=GM$ and a field $k$. The irreducible calculi are associated to certain conjugacy classes in $X$ and representations of isotropy groups. We find the full exterior algebras and show that they are inner by a bi-invariant 1-form $θ$ which is a generator in the noncommutative de Rham cohomology $H^1$. Quantum cluster algebra structures on quantum nilpotent algebras

All algebras in a very large, axiomatically defined class of quantum nilpotent algebras are proved to possess quantum cluster algebra structures under mild conditions. Furthermore, it is shown that these quantum cluster algebras always equal the corresponding upper quantum cluster algebras.
