We study a system of N bosons in the plane interacting with delta function potentials. After a coupling constant renormalization we show that the Hamiltonian defines a self-adjoint operator and obtain a lower bound for the energy. The same results hold if one includes a regular inter-particle potential.
We consider the one-dimensional discrete Schrödinger operator with complex-valued sparse periodic potential. The spectrum for a complex-valued periodic potential is a complicated compact set in the complex plane represented by real intersections of algebraic curves determined by a discriminant. We represent the discriminant by Chebyshev polynomials and use perturbations of the discriminant to study the spectrum.
Resolvent kernels and time dependent Schr\" odinger equations under magnetic field on the hyperbolic half plane $\H$ and the Morse potential on the real line $\
New approach to numerical computation of the eigenfunctions of the continuous spectrum of three-particle Schrödinger operator. I. One-dimensional particles, short-range pair potentials
Schrödinger operators with nonlocal $δ$-interaction are studied with the use of the Lax-Phillips scattering theory methods. The condition of applicability of the Lax-Phillips approach in terms of non-cyclic functions is established. Two formulas for the $S$-matrix are obtained. The first one deals with the Krein-Naimark resolvent formula and the Weyl-Titchmarsh function, whereas the second one is based on modified reflection and transmission coefficients. The $S$-matrix $S(z)$ is analytical in the lower half-plane $\mathbb{C_-}$ when the Schrödinger operator with nonlocal $δ$-interaction is po…
For a Schrödinger operator on the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$ with electric potential $V$ and Aharonov--Bohm magnetic field we obtain an upper bound on the number of its negative eigenvalues in terms of the $L^1(\mathbb{R}^2)$-norm of $V$. Similar to Calogero's bound in one dimension, the result is true under monotonicity assumptions on $V$. Our proof method relies on a generalisation of Calogero's bound to operator-valued potentials. We also establish a similar bound for the Schrödinger operator (without magnetic field) on the half-plane when a Dirchlet boundary condition is imposed and on the whole…
We consider magnetic Schrödinger operators describing a quantum Hall effect setup both in the plane and in the half-plane. First, we study the structure and smoothness of the operator range of various powers of the half-plane resolvent. Second, we provide a complete analysis of the diamagnetic current density at positive temperature: we prove that bulk and edge current densities are smooth functions and we show that the edge current density converges to the bulk current density faster than any polynomial in the inverse distance from the boundary. Our proofs are based on gauge covariant magneti…
We prove regularity estimates in weighted Sobolev spaces for the $L^2$-eigenfunctions of Schrödinger type operators whose potentials have inverse square singularities and uniform radial limits at infinity. In particular, the usual $N$-body Hamiltonians with Coulomb-type singular potentials are covered by our result: in that case, the weight is $δ_{\mathcal{F}}(x) := \min \{ d(x, \bigcup \mathcal{F}), 1\}$, where $d(x, \bigcup \mathcal{F})$ is the usual euclidean distance to the union $\bigcup\mathcal{F}$ of the set of collision planes $\bigcup\mathcal{F}$. The proof is based on blow-ups of man…
