Under some hypotheses (symmetry, confluence), we enumerate all quadratically presented algebras, generated by creation and destruction operators, in which number operators exist. We show that these are algebras of bosons, fermions, their immediate generalizations that we call pseudo-bosons and pseudo-fermions, and also matrix algebras, in the finitely generated case. We then recover q-bosons (and pseudo-q-bosons) by a completion operation.
It is well known that the Lie-algebra structure on quantum algebras gives rise to a Poisson-algebra structure on classical algebras as the Planck constant goes to 0. We show that this correspondance still holds in the generalization of super- algebra introduced by Scheunert, called epsilon-algebra. We illustrate this with the example of Number Operator Algebras, a new kind of object that we have defined and classified under some assumptions.
In two-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT) the building blocks are given by chiral CFTs, i.e.~CFTs on the unit circle (compactified light-ray). They are generated by quantum fields depending on one light-ray coordinate only. There are two mathematical formulations of chiral CFT, the one based on vertex operator algebras (VOAs) and the one based on conformal nets. We describe some recent results which, for first time, gives a general construction of conformal nets from (unitary) VOAs.
Theory of differential operators on associative algebras is not extended to the non-associative ones in a straightforward way. We consider differential operators on Lie algebras. A key point is that multiplication in a Lie algebra is its derivation. Higher order differential operators on a Lie algebra are defined as composition of the first order ones. The Chevalley--Eilenberg differential calculus over a Lie algebra is defined. Examples of finite-dimensional Lie algebras, Poisson algebras, algebras of vector fields, and algebras of canonical commutation relations are considered. Differential …
We present recent progress in theory of local conformal nets which is an operator algebraic approach to study chiral conformal field theory. We emphasize representation theoretic aspects and relations to theory of vertex operator algebras which gives a different and algebraic formulation of chiral conformal field theory.
We introduce a search algorithm that utilises differential operator realisations to find polynomial Casimir operators of Lie algebras. To demonstrate the algorithm, we look at two classes of examples: (1) the model filiform Lie algebras and (2) the Schrödinger Lie algebras. We find that an abstract form of dimensional analysis assists us in our algorithm, and greatly reduces the complexity of the problem.
The purpose of this paper is to study the $\mathcal{O}$-operators on Malcev algebras and discuss the solutions of Malcev Yang-Baxter equation by $\mathcal{O}$-operators. Furthermore we introduce the notion of weighted $\mathcal{O}$-operators on Malcev algebras, which can be characterized by graphs of the semi-direct product Malcev algebra. Then we introduce a new algebraic structure called post-Malcev algebras. Therefore, post-Malcev algebras can be viewed as the underlying algebraic structures of weighted $\mathcal{O}$-operators on Malcev algebras. A post-Malcev algebra also gives rise to a n…
This is a set of lecture notes on the operator algebraic approach to 2-dimensional conformal field theory. Representation theoretic aspects and connections to vertex operator algebras are emphasized. No knowledge on operator algebras or quantum field theory is assumed.
Examples of operator algebras with involution include the operator $*$-algebras occurring in noncommutative differential geometry studied recently by Mesland, Kaad, Lesch, and others, several classical function algebras, triangular matrix algebras, (complexifications) of real operator algebras, and an operator algebraic version of the {\em complex symmetric} operators studied by Garcia, Putinar, Wogen and others. We investigate the general theory of involutive operator algebras, and give many applications.
We consider unitary simple vertex operator algebras whose vertex operators satisfy certain energy bounds and a strong form of locality and call them strongly local. We present a general procedure which associates to every strongly local vertex operator algebra V a conformal net A_V acting on the Hilbert space completion of V and prove that the isomorphism class of A_V does not depend on the choice of the scalar product on V. We show that the class of strongly local vertex operator algebras is closed under taking tensor products and unitary subalgebras and that, for every strongly local vertex …
We study $\mathcal{O}$-operators of associative conformal algebras with respect to conformal bimodules. As natural generalizations of $\mathcal{O}$-operators and dendriform conformal algebras, we introduce the notions of twisted Rota-Baxter operators and conformal NS-algebras. We show that twisted Rota-Baxter operators give rise to conformal NS-algebras, the same as $\mathcal{O}$-operators induce dendriform conformal algebras. And we introduce a conformal analog of associative Nijenhius operators and enumerate main properties. By using derived bracket construction of Kosmann-Schwarzbach and a …
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator on a 3-Lie algebra $\g$ with a representation on $V$. We show that a twisted Rota-Baxter operator induces a 3-Lie algebra structure on $V$, which represents on $\g$. By this fact, we define the cohomology of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator and study infinitesimal deformations of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator using the second cohomology group. Then we introduce the notion of an NS-3-Lie algebra, which produces a 3-Lie algebra with a representation on itself. We show that a twisted Rota-Baxter operator induces an NS-3…
$\mathcal{O}$-operators (also known as relative Rota-Baxter operators) on Lie algebras have several applications in integrable systems and the classical Yang-Baxter equations. In this article, we study $\mathcal{O}$-operators on hom-Lie algebras. We define cochain complex for $\mathcal{O}$-operators on hom-Lie algebras with respect to a representation. Any $\mathcal{O}$-operator induces a hom-pre-Lie algebra structure. We express the cochain complex of an $\mathcal{O}$-operator in terms of certain hom-Lie algebra cochain complex of the sub-adjacent hom-Lie algebra associated with the induced h…
Based on the differential graded Lie algebra controlling deformations of an $n$-Lie algebra with a representation (called an n-LieRep pair), we construct a Lie n-algebra, whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize relative Rota-Baxter operators on n-LieRep pairs. The notion of an n-pre-Lie algebra is introduced, which is the underlying algebraic structure of the relative Rota-Baxter operator. We give the cohomology of relative Rota-Baxter operators and study infinitesimal deformations and extensions of order m deformations to order m+1 deformations of relative Rota-Baxter operators through the …
From relative Rota-Baxter operators and relative averaging operators on Lie algebras to relative Rota-Baxter operators on Leibniz algebras: a uniform approach
First we use a new approach to give a graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize pre-Lie algebra structures. Then using this graded Lie bracket we define the notion of a Nijenhuis operator on a pre-Lie algebra which generates a trivial deformation of this pre-Lie algebra. There are close relationships between O-operators, Rota-Baxter operators and Nijenhuis operators on a pre-Lie algebra. In particular, a Nijenhuis operator "connects" two O-operators on a pre-Lie algebra whose any linear combination is still an O-operator in certain sense and hence compatible L-dendriform alg…
We consider a generalization of the classical Laplace operator, which includes the Laplace-Dunkl operator defined in terms of the differential-difference operators associated with finite reflection groups called Dunkl operators. For this Laplace-like operator, we determine a set of symmetries commuting with it, which are generalized angular momentum operators, and we present the algebraic relations for the symmetry algebra. In this context, the generalized Dirac operator is then defined as a square root of our Laplace-like operator. We explicitly determine a family of graded operators which co…
We carry out a careful study of operator algebras associated with Delone dynamical systems. A von Neumann algebra is defined using noncommutative integration theory. Features of these algebras and the operators they contain are discussed. We restrict our attention to a certain subalgebra to discuss a Shubin trace formula.
In this paper, first we introduce the notions of relative Rota-Baxter operators of nonzero weight on $3$-Lie algebras and $3$-post-Lie algebras. A 3-post-Lie algebra consists of a 3-Lie algebra structure and a ternary operation such that some compatibility conditions are satisfied. We show that a relative Rota-Baxter operator of nonzero weight induces a $3$-post-Lie algebra naturally. Conversely, a $3$-post-Lie algebra gives rise to a new 3-Lie algebra, which is called the subadjacent 3-Lie algebra, and an action on the original 3-Lie algebra. Then we construct an $L_\infty$-algebra whose Maur…
We make a review on the recent progress in the operator algebraic approach to (super)conformal field theory. We discuss representation theory, classification results, full and boundary conformal field theories, relations to supervertex operator algebras and Moonshine, connections to subfactor theory and noncommutative geometry.
This is a continuation of our work to understand vertex operator algebras using the geometric properties of varieties attached to vertex operator algebras. For a class of vertex operator algebras including affine vertex operator algebras associated to a finite dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we describe their varieties of semi-conformal vectors by some matrix equations. These matrix equations are too complicated to be solved for us. However, for affine vertex operator algebras associated to the simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we find the adjoint group $G$ of $\mathfrak{g}$ ac…
We initiate the study of relative operator entropies and Tsallis relative operator entropies in the setting of JB-algebras. We establish their basic properties and extend the operator inequalities on relative operator entropies and Tsallis relative operator entropies to this setting. In addition, we improve the lower and upper bounds of the relative operator $(α, β)$-entropy in the setting of JB-algebras that were established in Hilbert space operators setting by Nikoufar [18, 20]. Though we employ the same notation as in the classical setting of Hilbert space operators, the inequalities in th…
A Lax operator algebra is constructed for an arbitrary semi-simple Lie algebra over $\mathbb C$ equipped with a $\mathbb Z$-grading, and arbitrary compact Riemann surface with marked points. In this set-up, a treatment of almost graded structures, and classification of the central extensions of Lax operator algebras are given. A relation to the earlier approach based on the Tyurin parameters is established.
The notion of $\mathcal{O}$-operators on modules over Lie algebras generalize Rota-Baxter operators. They also generalize Poisson structures on Lie algebras in the presence of modules. Motivated from Poisson structures, we define gauge transformations and reductions of $\mathcal{O}$-operators. Next we consider compatible $\mathcal{O}$-operators on modules over Lie algebras. We define $\mathcal{ON}$-structures which give rise to hierarchy of compatible $\mathcal{O}$-operators. We show that a solution of the strong Maurer-Cartan equation on a twilled Lie algebra associated to an $\mathcal{O}$-op…
In this article we give a short and informal overview of some aspects of the theory of C*- and von Neumann algebras. We also mention some classical results and applications of these families of operator algebras.
We introduce a symmetric operad whose algebras are the Operator Product Expansion (OPE) Algebras of quantum fields. There is a natural classical limit for the algebras over this operad and they are commutative associative algebras with derivations. The latter are the algebras of classical fields. In this paper we completely develop our approach to models of quantum fields, which come from vertex algebras in higher dimensions. However, our approach to OPE algebras can be extended to general quantum fields even over curved space-time. We introduce a notion of OPE operations based on the new noti…
