In the authors book, Associative Algebraic Geometry, 2023, and the following article Shemes of Associative Algebras,\\ https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2410.17703,2024, we use an algebraization of the semi-local formal moduli of simple modules to construct associative schemes. Here, we consider a commutative ring for which we can use the localization in maximal ideals as local moduli. This gives a categorical definition of schemes that is equivalent to the definition in Hartshorne's book, Algebraic Geometry, 1977. The definition includes a construction of the sheaf associated to a presheaf using projective limits, and this makes the basic results in scheme theory more natural.
For a finitely generated associative algebra $\cA$ over a commutative ring $k$ we construct the Hilbert scheme ${\bf H}^{[n]}_{\cA}$ which parametrizes left ideals in $\cA$ of codimension $n.$
Thom polynomial describes the cohomology class Poincaré dual to the locus of particular singularity of a generic holomorphic map. In this paper we derive a closed formula for the generating function of its coefficients. The method is based on a new construction of the embedding space of punctual Hibert scheme that we call the non-associative Hilbert scheme. The efficiency of the method is demonstrated on explicit computation of a number of Thom polynomials, including those associated with singularities of Thom-Boardman types~$Σ^{i,j}$, $Σ^{2,1,1}$, $Σ^{2,2,1}$, and~$Σ^{2,2,2}$.
We introduce the notion of a poset scheme and study the categories of quasi-coherent sheaves on such spaces. We then show that smooth poset schemes may be used to obtain categorical resolutions of singularities for usual singular schemes. We prove that a singular variety $X$ possesses such a resolution if and only if $X$ has Du Bois singularities. Finally we show that the de Rham-Du Bois complex for an algebraic variety $Y$ may be defined using any smooth poset scheme which satisfies the descent over $Y$ in the classical topology.
Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field and let $A$ be a finitely generated $k-$algebra. We show that the scheme of n-dimensional representations of $A$ is smooth when $A$ is hereditary and coherent. We deduce from this the smoothness of the Nori-Hilbert scheme associated to $A.$
Building on the concept of a smooth DG algebra we define the notion of a smooth derived category. We the propose the definition of a categorical resolution of singularities. Our main example is the derived category $D(X)$ of quasi-coherent sheaves on a scheme $X$. We prove that $D(X)$ has a canonical categorical resolution if the base field is perfect and $X$ is a separated scheme of finite type with a dualizing complex.
We prove the existence of semiorthogonal decompositions of derived categories of Quot schemes of zero-dimensional quotients on curves in terms of derived categories of symmetric products of curves. The above result is a categorical analogue of a similar formula for the class of Quot schemes in the Grothendieck ring of varieties by Bagnarol-Fantechi-Perroni. It is a special case of a more general Quot formula of relative dimension one, which is regarded as a Bosonic counterpart of the Quot formula conjectured by Jiang and proved by the author. The proof involves categorical wall-crossing formul…
We classify the prelocalizing subcategories of the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on a locally noetherian scheme. In order to give the classification, we introduce the notion of a local filter of subobjects of the structure sheaf. The essential part of the argument is given as results on a Grothendieck category with certain properties. We also classify the localizing subcategories, the closed subcategories, and the bilocalizing subcategories in terms of filters.
Given a category fibered in groupoids over schemes with a log structure, one produces a category fibered in groupoids over log schemes. We classify the groupoid fibrations over log schemes that arise in this manner in terms of a categorical notion of "minimal" objects. The classification is actually a purely category-theoretic result about groupoid fibrations over fibered categories, though most of the known applications occur in the setting of log geometry, where our categorical framework encompasses many notions of "minimality" previously extant in the literature.
One fundamental consequence of a scheme $X$ being proper is that the functor classifying maps from $X$ to any other suitably nice scheme or algebraic stack is representable by an algebraic stack. This result has been generalized by replacing $X$ with a proper algebraic stack. We show, however, that it also holds when $X$ is replaced by many examples of algebraic stacks which are not proper, including many global quotient stacks. This leads us to revisit the definition of properness for stacks. We introduce the notion of a formally proper morphism of stacks and study its properties. We develop …
In this paper, we give some categorical description of the general spectrum functor, defining it as an adjoint of a global section functor. The general spectrum functor includes that of $F_1$ and of semirings.
Tannaka duality and its extensions by Lurie, Schäppi et al. reveal that many schemes as well as algebraic stacks may be identified with their tensor categories of quasi-coherent sheaves. In this thesis we study constructions of cocomplete tensor categories (resp. cocontinuous tensor functors) which usually correspond to constructions of schemes (resp. their morphisms) in the case of quasi-coherent sheaves. This means to globalize the usual local-global algebraic geometry. For this we first have to develop basic commutative algebra in an arbitrary cocomplete tensor category. We then discuss ten…
Let $X$ be a quasi-compact, separated scheme over a field k and we can consider the categorical resolution of singularities of $X$. In this paper let $k^{\prime}/k$ be a field extension and we study the scalar extension of a categorical resolution of singularities of $X$ and we show how it gives a categorical resolution of the base change scheme $X_{k^{\prime}}$. Our construction involves the scalar extension of derived categories of DG-modules over a DG algebra. As an application we use the technique of scalar extension developed in this paper to prove the non-existence of full exceptional co…
In this survey paper we study the relationships between the coarse moduli space which parameterizes the finite dimensional linear representations of an associative alegebra, the non commutative hilbert scheme and the affine scheme which is the spectrum of the abelianization of algebra of the divided powers. In particular we will show a map which specialize to the Hlibert - Chow morphism when the associative algebra is commutative. The extension to the positive characteristic case of some of the results due to L. Le Bruyn on noncommutative desingularization is outlined. The possibility to use o…
The lower central series invariants M_k of an associative algebra A are the two-sided ideals generated by k-fold iterated commutators; the M_k provide a filtration of A. We study the relationship between the geometry of X = Spec A_ab and the associated graded components N_k of this filtration. We show that the N_k form coherent sheaves on a certain nilpotent thickening of X, and that Zariski localization on X coincides with noncommutative localization of A. Under certain freeness assumptions on A, we give an alternative construction of N_k purely in terms of the geometry of X (and in particula…
Let $S$ be a smooth projective surface with $p_g=q=0$. We show how to use derived categorical methods to study the geometry of certain special iterated Hilbert schemes associated to $S$ by showing that they contain a smooth connected component isomorphic to $S$.

Mark Haiman has reduced Macdonald positivity conjecture to a statement about geometry of the Hilbert scheme of points on the plane, and formulated a generalization of the conjectures where the symmetric group is replaced by the wreath product $S_n\ltimes (Z/r Z)^n$. He has proven the original conjecture by establishing the geometric statement about the Hilbert scheme, as a byproduct he obtained a derived equivalence between coherent sheaves on the Hilbert scheme and coherent sheaves on the orbifold quotient of ${\mathbb A}^{2n}$ by the symmetric group $S_n$. A short proof of a similar derived …
We prove two kinds of $\mathbb{Z}/2$-periodic Koszul duality equivalences for triangulated categories of matrix factorizations associated with $(-1)$-shifted cotangents over quasi-smooth affine derived schemes. We use this result to define $\mathbb{Z}/2$-periodic version of Donaldson-Thomas categories for local surfaces, whose $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant version was introduced and developed in the author's previous paper. We compare $\mathbb{Z}/2$-periodic DT category with the $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$-equivariant one, and deduce wall-crossing equivalences of $\mathbb{Z}/2$-periodic DT categorie…
We show that the categorified cohomological Hall algebra structures on surfaces constructed by Porta-Sala descend to those on Donaldson-Thomas categories on local surfaces introduced in the author's previous paper. A similar argument also shows that Pandharipande-Thomas categories on local surfaces admit actions of categorified COHA for zero dimensional sheaves on surfaces. We also construct annihilator actions of its simple operators, and show that their commutator in the K-theory satisfies the relation similar to the one of Weyl algebras. This result may be regarded as a categorification of …
We make an attempt to develop "noncommutative algebraic geometry" in which noncommutative affine schemes are in one-to-one correspondence with associative algebras. In the first part we discuss various aspects of smoothness in affine noncommutative algebraic geometry. The main example for us is the noncommutative affine space. The algebra of functions on this space is free finitely generated algebra. We propose a general correspondence principle which allows us to give definitions of various differential-geometric structures in the noncommutative setting. In the second part we propose a defini…
