This article explores the motion of massive particles in the gravitational field of a modified gravity (MOG) black hole (BH), characterized by the parameter $α$. Using the Hamiltonian formalism, the geodesic equations and the effective potential governing particle trajectories are derived. Key features, including the innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO) and the innermost bound circular orbit (IBCO), are analyzed, revealing their dependence on the particle's energy, angular momentum, and the MOG parameter. In the extremal case, where $α=-1$, the event horizon merges with the Cauchy horizon, forming a distinctive BH configuration. Numerical methods are employed to compute periodic orbits in this spacetime, with a comparison drawn to the Schwarzschild BH. The findings indicate that for $α>0$, periodic orbits around Schwarzschild-MOG BH exhibit lower energy requirements than those in Schwarzschild spacetime, whereas for $-1<α<0$, the energy requirements are higher. Precessing orbits near periodic trajectories are also examined, offering insights into their complex dynamical behavior. Finally, the gravitational wave (GW) radiation from the periodic orbits of a test particle around the Schwarzschild-MOG BH is examined, generating intricate waveforms that provide insights into the gravitational structure of the system.

In this paper, we have presented the studies of the motion of magnetized particles and energetic processes around Schwarzschild black holes in modified gravity (MOG). The study of circular stable orbits shows that orbits of magnetized particles can not be stable for the values of magnetic coupling parameter $β\geq 1$. It was also shown that the range of stable circular orbits increases with the increase of both MOG and magnetic coupling parameters, while the effects of magnetic interaction stronger than the gravity. It was obtained that the increase of the MOG parameter causes the increase of …
This paper explores the dynamics of both neutral as well as charged particles orbiting near a rotating black hole in scalar-tensor-vector gravity. We study the conditions for the particle to escape at the innermost stable circular orbit. We investigate stability of orbits through effective potential and Lyapunov exponent in the presence of magnetic field. The effective force acting on particle is also discussed. We also study the center of mass energy of particle collision near the horizon of this black hole. Finally, we compare our results with the particle motion around Schwarzschild, Kerr a…
This paper aims to investigate the scattering of fermions by spherically symmetric MOG black holes, which are a type of black holes encountered in scalar-tensor-vector modified gravitational theories. After determining the scattering modes in this black hole geometry, we apply the partial wave method to compute analytical expressions for the phase shifts that enter into the definition of scattering amplitudes. An analysis of the influence of the MOG parameter $α$ on the differential scattering cross section and the induced polarization is conducted. Also, a comparison with Schwarzschild scatte…
In this paper, we analyze the thermodynamic stability of Schwarzschild Modified Gravity (MOG) black holes in a non-commutative framework. We show that, unlike a commutative MOG black hole, in the coherent state picture of non-commutativity MOG black holes are thermodynamically stable. At the final stage of evaporation, a stable remnant with zero temperature and finite entropy is left in this noncommutative framework. Also, we consider Parikh-Wilczek tunneling mechanism of massive particles from non-commutative MOG black holes and demonstrate that information leaks out of non-commutative MOG bl…
The Quasinormal modes (QNMs) for gravitational and electromagnetic perturbations are calculated in a Scalar-Tensor-Vector (Modified Gravity) spacetime, which was initially proposed to obtain correct dynamics of galaxies and galaxy clusters without the need for dark matter. It is found that for the increasing model parameter $α$, both the real and imaginary parts of the QNMs decrease compared to those for a standard Schwarzschild black hole. On the other hand, when taking into account the $1/(1+α)$ mass re-scaling factor present in MOG, Im($ω$) matches almost identically that of GR, while Re($ω…
The field equations for Scalar-Tensor-Vector-Gravity (STVG) or modified gravity (MOG) have a static, spherically symmetric black hole solution determined by the mass $M$ with two horizons. The strength of the gravitational constant is $G=G_N(1+α)$ where $α$ is a parameter. A regular singularity-free MOG solution is derived using a nonlinear field dynamics for the repulsive gravitational field component and a reasonable physical energy-momentum tensor. The Kruskal-Szekeres completion of the MOG black hole solution is obtained. The Kerr-MOG black hole solution is determined by the mass $M$, the …
The shadows cast by non-rotating and rotating modified gravity (MOG) black holes are determined by the two parameters mass $M$ and angular momentum $J=Ma$. The sizes of the shadows cast by the spherically symmetric static Schwarzschild-MOG and Kerr-MOG rotating black holes increase significantly as the free parameter $α$ is increased from zero. The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) shadow image measurements can determine whether Einstein's general relativity is correct or whether it should be modified in the presence of strong gravitational fields.

Naked singularities form during the gravitational collapse of inhomogeneous matter clouds. The final nature of the singularity depends on the initial conditions of the matter properties and types of matter profiles. These naked singularities can also be divided into two types: null-like and timelike singularities. The spacelike singularity of the Schwarzschild black hole can be distinguished from the null and timelike naked singularity spacetimes. In light of this, we investigate the precession of timelike bound orbits in the null naked singularity spacetime, as well as tidal force effects and…
We consider the Keplerian, radial and vertical fundamental frequencies in the Schwarzschild spacetime to study the so-called kilohertz quasi-periodic oscillations from low-mass X-ray binary systems. We show that, within the Relativistic Precession Model, the interpretation of observed kilohertz quasi-periodic oscillations in terms of the fundamental frequencies of test particles in the Schwarzschild spacetime, allows one to infer the total mass $M$ of the central object, the internal $R_{in}$ and external $R_{ex}$ radii of accretion disks, and innermost stable circular orbits $r_{ISCO}$ for te…
We study the shadows cast by near-extremal Kerr-MOG black holes for different values of the parameter in modified gravity (MOG). In particular, we consider an isotropic emitter orbiting near such black holes and analytically compute the positions, fluxes and redshift factors of their images. The size of the shadow decreases when the modified parameter is increased. For each shadow, the images of the emitter appear on a special part of the shadow which has a rich structure. The primary image and secondary images are similar to those produced for the near-extremal (high spin) Kerr black hole, bu…
We study the quasi-periodic oscillations from the accretion disk around the distorted Schwarzschild black hole in the framework of the resonant models. We confine ourselves to the case of a quadrupole distortion which can be caused for example by the accreting matter flow in the vicinity of the compact object. For the purpose we examine the linear stability of the circular geodesic orbits in the equatorial plane and derive analytical expressions for the radial and vertical epicyclic frequencies. We investigate their properties in comparison with the isolated Schwarzschild black hole. Due to th…

We investigate the long-term orbital dynamics of spinless extended bodies in Schwarzschild geometry, and show that periodic deviations from spherical symmetry in the shape of a test body may trigger the onset of chaos. We do this by applying Dixon's formalism at quadrupolar order to a nearly spherical body whose shape oscillates between a prolate and an oblate spheroid. The late-time chaotic behavior is then verified by applying Melnikov's method.
The motion of a massive test particle around a Kehagias-Sfetsos black hole in deformed Hourava-Lifshitz gravity is studied. Employing the effective potential, the marginally bound orbits and the innermost stable circular orbits are analyzed. For the marginally bound orbits, their radius and angular momentum decrease with the parameter $ω$ of the gravity. For the innermost stable circular orbits, the energy and angular momentum also decrease with $ω$. Based on these results, we investigate the periodic orbits in the Kehagias-Sfetsos black holes. It is found that the apsidal angle parameter incr…

We have studied the shadows of a Schwarzschild black hole under a special polar gravitational perturbation, which is a particular solution of Einstein equations expanded up to first order. It is shown that the black hole shadow changes periodically with time and the change of shadow depends on the Legendre polynomial order parameter l and the frequency σ of gravitational wave. For the odd order of Legendre polynomial, the center of shadow oscillates along the direction which is vertical to equatorial plane. For even l, the center of shadow does not move, but the shadow alternately stretches an…

In this paper we investigate circular orbits for test particles around Schwarzschild-de Sitter (dS) black hole surrounded by perfect fluid dark matter. We determine the region of circular orbits bounded by innermost and outermost stable circular orbits. We show that the impact of the perfect fluid dark matter shrinks the region where circular orbits can exist as the values of both innermost and outermost stable circular orbits decrease. We find that for specific lower and upper values of dark matter parameter there exist double matching values for inner and outermost stable circular orbits. It…
In order to test the role of large-scale magnetic fields in quasiperiodic oscillation phenomena observed in microquasars, we study oscillatory motion of charged particles in vicinity of a Schwarzschild black hole immersed into an external asymptotically uniform magnetic field. We determine the fundamental frequencies of small harmonic oscillations of charged test particles around stable circular orbits in the equatorial plane of a magnetized black hole, and discuss the radial profiles of frequencies of the radial and latitudinal harmonic oscillations in dependence on the mass of the black hole…
The motion of time-like test particles in the Fisher/Janis-Newman-Winicour (F/JNW) spacetime is studied with the Hamiltonian formulation of the geodesic equations. The spacetime is characterised by its mass parameter $r_g$ and scalar field parameter $ν$. The innermost bound and stable circular orbits are calculated and the effective potential is analysed. Consistent with numerical results in earlier literature, for $ν<1/2$, particles with non-zero angular momentum encounter an infinite potential barrier, preventing them from reaching the naked singularity at $r=r_g$. Periodic orbits in the spa…
In transforming from Schwarzschild to Euclidean Rindler coordinates the Schwarzschild time transforms to a periodic angle. As is well-known, this allows one to introduce the Hawking temperature and is an origin of black hole thermodynamics. On the other hand, according to quantum mechanics this angle is conjugate to the $z$ component of the angular momentum. From the commutation relation and quantization condition for the angular momentum component it is found that the area of the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole is quantized with the quantum $ΔA = 8πl_P^{2}$. It is shown that this conclu…
