We investigate the existence and concentration of normalized solutions for a $p$-Laplacian problem with logarithmic nonlinearity of type \[
\left\{
\begin{array}{ll}
\displaystyle -\varepsilon^pΔ_p u+V(x)|u|^{p-2}u=λ|u|^{p-2}u+|u|^{p-2}u\log|u|^p ~\text{in}~\mathbb R^N,\newline
\displaystyle \int_{\mathbb R^N}|u|^pdx=a^p\varepsilon^N,
\end{array}
\right. \] where $a,\varepsilon> 0$, $λ\in\mathbb R$ is known as the Lagrange multiplier, $Δ_p\cdot =\text{div} (|\nabla \cdot|^{p-2}\nabla \cdot)$ denotes the usual $p$-Laplacian operator with $2\leq p < N$ and $V \in \mathcal{C}^0(\mathbb R^N)$ is the potential which satisfies some suitable assumptions. We prove that the number of positive solutions depends on the profile of $V$ and each solution concentrates around its corresponding global minimum point of $V$ in the semiclassical limit when $\varepsilon\to0^+$ using variational method.
Moreover, we also get the existence of normalized solutions for some logarithmic $p$-Laplacian equations involving mass-supercritical nonlinearities.
We consider the Cauchy problem for heat equation with fractional Laplacian and exponential nonlinearity. We establish local well-posedness result in Orlicz spaces. We derive the existence of global solutions for small initial data. We obtain decay estimates for large time in Lebesgue spaces.
By exploiting a suitable Trudinger-Moser inequality for fractional Sobolev spaces, we obtain existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of one-dimensional nonlocal equations with fractional diffusion and nonlinearity at exponential growth.
In this paper, we establish a local gradient estimate for a $p$-Lpalacian equation with a fast growing gradient nonlinearity. With this estimate, we can prove a parabolic Liouville theorem for ancient solutions satisfying some growth restriction near infinity.
In this paper, we use bifurcation method to investigate the existence and multiplicity of one-sign solutions of the $p$-Laplacian involving a linear/superlinear nonlinearity with zeros. To do this, we first establish a bifurcation theorem from infinity for nonlinear operator equation with homogeneous operator. To deal with the superlinear case, we establish several topological results involving superior limit.
In this work, the following fractional Laplacian problem with pure critical nonlinearity is considered \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} (-Δ)^{s} u=|u|^{\frac{4s}{N-2s}}u, &\mbox{in}\ \mathbb{R}^N, \\ u\in \mathcal{D}^{s,2}(\mathbb{R}^N), \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $s\in (0,1)$, $N$ is a positive integer with $N\geq 3$, $(-Δ)^{s}$ is the fractional Laplacian operator. We will prove that this problem has infinitely many non-radial sign-changing solutions.
In this work, we study a quasilinear elliptic problem involving the 1-laplacian operator, with a discontinuous, superlinear and subcritical nonlinearity involving the Heaviside function $H(\cdot - β)$. Our approach is based on an analysis of the associated p-laplacian problem, followed by a thorough analysis of the asymptotic behaviour or such solutions as $p \to 1^+$. We study also the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions, as $β\to 0^+$ and we prove that it converges to a solution of the original problem, without the discontinuity in the nonlinearity.
In this paper, we study the existence of three solutions for a Kirchhoff equation involving the nonlocal fractional p-Laplacian considering Sobolev and Hardy nonlinearities at subcritical and critical growths. The proof is based on Mountain Pass Theorem, Ekeland's variational principle and constrained minimization in Nehari sets.
In this paper we study an evolution equation involving the normalized $p$-Laplacian and a bounded continuous source term. The normalized $p$-Laplacian is in non divergence form and arises for example from stochastic tug-of-war games with noise. We prove local $C^{α, \fracα{2}}$ regularity for the spatial gradient of the viscosity solutions. The proof is based on an improvement of flatness and proceeds by iteration.
We prove the existence of solutions for a class of quasilinear problems involving variable exponents and with nonlinearity having critical growth. The main tool used is the variational method, more precisely, Ekeland's Variational Principle and the Mountain Pass Theorem.
We consider a parabolic-type PDE with a diffusion given by a fractional Laplacian operator and with a quadratic nonlinearity of the 'gradient' of the solution, convoluted with a singular term b. Our first result is the well-posedness for this problem: We show existence and uniqueness of a (local in time) mild solution. The main result is about blow-up of said solution, and in particular we find sufficient conditions on the initial datum and on the term b to ensure blow-up of the solution in finite time.
In this paper, we prove the existence of a weak solution for the Dirichlet boundary value problem related to the $p(x)-$Laplacian $$ -\mbox{div}(|\nabla u|^{p(x)-2}\nabla u)+u\in -[\underline{g}(x,u),\overline{g}(x,u)], $$ by using the degree theory after turning the problem into a Hammerstein equation. The right hand side $g$ is a possibly discontinuous function in the second variable satisfying some non-standard growth conditions..
In this article, we study the following fractional $p$-Laplacian equation with critical growth singular nonlinearity \begin{equation*} \quad (-\De_{p})^s u = \la u^{-q} + u^α, u>0 \; \text{in}\; \Om,\quad u = 0 \; \mbox{in}\; \mb R^n \setminus\Om. \end{equation*} where $\Om$ is a bounded domain in $\mb{R}^n$ with smooth boundary $\partial \Om$, $n > sp, s \in (0,1), \la >0, 0 < q \leq 1 $ and $α\le p^*_s-1$. We use variational methods to show the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of above problem with respect to parameter $\la$.
We investigate the $p-$Laplace heat equation $u_t-Δ_p u=ζ(t)f(u)$ on a bounded smooth domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^N$. Using differential inequalities arguments, we prove blow-up results under suitable conditions on $ζ, f$, and the initial data $u_0$. We also give an upper bound for the blow-up time in each case.
We extend the symmetry result of Serrin and Weinberger from the Laplacian operator to the highly degenerate game-theoretic $p$-Laplacian operator and show that viscosity solutions of $-Δ_p^Nu=1$ in $Ω$, $u=0$ and $\tfrac{\partial u}{\partialν}=-c\neq 0$ on $\partialΩ$ can only exist on a bounded domain $Ω$ if $Ω$ is a ball.
We investigate the existence of solutions to the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation $(-Δ)^s u = f(u)$ with prescribed $L^2$-norm $\int_{\mathbb{R}^N} |u|^2 \, dx =m$ in the Sobolev space $H^s(\mathbb{R}^N)$. Under fairly general assumptions on the nonlinearity $f$, we prove the existence of a ground state solution and a multiplicity result in the radially symmetric case.
We show that viscosity solutions to the normalized $p(x)$-Laplace equation coincide with distributional weak solutions to the strong $p(x)$-Laplace equation when $p$ is Lipschitz and $\inf p>1$. This yields $C^{1,α}$ regularity for the viscosity solutions of the normalized $p(x)$-Laplace equation. As an additional application, we prove a Radó-type removability theorem.
In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of positive classical solution of the fractional Laplacian with singular nonlinearity in a smooth bounded domain with zero Drichlet boundary conditions. By the method of sub-supersolution, we derive the existence of positive classical solution to the approximation problems. In order to obtain the regularity, we first establish the existence of weak solution for the fraction Laplacian. Thanks to \cite{XY}, the regularity follows from the boundedness of weak solution.
In this paper, we deal with existence, uniqueness and exact rate of boundary behavior of blow-up solutions for a class of logistic type quasilinear problem in a smooth bounded domain involving the $p$-Laplacian operator, where the nonlinearity can have a singular behavior. In the proof of the existence of solution, we have used the sub and super solution method in conjunction with variational techniques and comparison principles. Related to the rate on boundary and uniqueness, we combine a comparison principle proved in the present paper together with the our result of existence of solution.
We prove that the unique solution to the Dirichlet problem with constant source term for the inhomogeneous normalized infinity Laplacian on a convex domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$ is of class $C^1$. The result is obtained by showing as an intermediate step the power-concavity (of exponent $1/2$) of the solution.
We investigate the existence of infinitely many radially symmetric solutions to the following problem $$(-Δ_p)^s u=g(u) \ \ \textrm{ in } \ \ \mathbb{R}^N, \ \ u\in W^{s,p}(\mathbb{R}^N),$$ where $s\in (0,1)$, $2 \leq p < \infty$, $sp \leq N $, $2 \leq N \in \mathbb{N}$ and $(-Δ_p)^s$ is the fractional $p$-Laplacian operator. We treat both of cases $sp=N$ and $sp<N.$ The nonlinearity $g$ is a function of Berestycki-Lions type with critical exponential growth if $sp=N$ and critical polynomial growth if $sp<N$. We also prove the existence of a ground state solution for the same problem.
We consider the nonlinear Choquard equation $$\begin{cases} & - Δu = (I_α\ast F(u))F'(u) -μu \ \text{in}\ \mathbb{R}^N, & u \in \ H^1(\mathbb{R}^N), \ \int_{\mathbb{R}^N} |u|^2 dx=m, \end{cases} $$ where $α\in(0,N)$, $m>0$ is prescribed, $μ\in \mathbb{R}$ is a Lagarange multiplier, and $I_α$ is the Riesz potential. Under general assumptions on the nonlinearity $F,$ we prove the existence and multiplicity of normalized solutions.
We study a tug-of-war game with varying probabilities. In particular, we show that the value of the game is locally asymptotically Hölder continuous. We also show the existence and uniqueness of values of the game. As an application, we prove that the value function of the game converges to a solution of the normalized $p(x)$-Laplacian.
Let $Ω$ be a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^{4}$ such that for some integer $d\geq1$ its $d$-th singular cohomology group with coefficients in some field is not zero, then problem {Δ^{2}u-ρ^{4}k(x)e^{u}=0 & \hbox{in}Ω, u=Δu=0 & \hbox{on}\partialΩ, has a solution blowing-up, as $ρ\to0$, at $m$ points of $Ω$, for any given number $m$.
A homogeneous Dirichlet problem with $(p,q)$-Laplace differential operator and reaction given by a parametric $p$-convex term plus a $q$-concave one is investigated. A bifurcation-type result, describing changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter $λ>0$ varies, is proven. Since for every admissible $λ$ the problem has a smallest positive solution $\bar u_λ$, both monotonicity and continuity of the map $ λ\mapsto \bar u_λ$ are studied.
We prove that, if $Ω$ is an open bounded domain with smooth and connected boundary, for every $p \in (1, + \infty)$ the first Dirichlet eigenvalue of the normalized $p$-Laplacian is simple in the sense that two positive eigenfunctions are necessarily multiple of each other. We also give a (non-optimal) lower bound for the eigenvalue in terms of the measure of $Ω$, and we address the open problem of proving a Faber-Krahn type inequality with balls as optimal domains.
In the present work we are concerned with the existence of normalized solutions to the following Schrödinger-Poisson System $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -Δu + λu + μ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u) \textrm{ \ in \ } \mathbb{R}^2 , \\ \intR |u(x)|^2 dx = c,\ c> 0 , \end{array} \right. $$ for $μ\in \R $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. Here $ λ\in \R$ stands as a Lagrange multiplier and it is part of the unknown. Our main results extend and/or complement some results found in \cite{Ji} and \cite{[cjj]}.
In the present work we investigate the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard Logarithmic equation $(-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} u + au + λ(\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{2})u = f(u) \textrm{ in } \mathbb{R}$, for $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and a nonlinearity $f$ with exponential critical growth. We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under exponential critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical growth we guarantee the existence of infinitely many solutions, via genus theory.
In this paper we deal with the multiplicity of positive solutions to the fractional Laplacian equation \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}} u=λf(x)|u|^{q-2}u+|u|^{2^{*}_α-2}u, \quad\text{in}\,\,Ω, u=0,\text{on}\,\,\partialΩ, \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^{N}(N\geq 2)$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary, $0<α<2$, $(-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}$ stands for the fractional Laplacian operator, $f\in C(Ω\times\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})$ may be sign changing and $λ$ is a positive parameter. We will prove that there exists $λ_{*}>0$ such that the problem has at least two positive solutions for each $λ…
By using a suitable topological argument based on cohomological linking and by exploiting a Trudinger-Moser inequality in fractional spaces recently obtained, we prove existence of multiple solutions for a problem involving the nonlinear fractional laplacian and a related critical exponential nonlinearity. This extends results in the literature for the N-Laplacian operator.
In this paper, we study an inhomogeneous variant of the normalized $p$-Laplacian evolution which has been recently treated in \cite{BG1}, \cite{Do}, \cite{MPR} and \cite{Ju}. We show that if the initial datum satisfies the pointwise gradient estimate \eqref{e:main1} a.e., then the unique solution to the Cauchy problem \eqref{main5} satisfies the same gradient estimate a.e. for all later times, see \eqref{e:main} below. A general pointwise gradient bound for the entire bounded solutions of the elliptic counterpart of equation \eqref{main5} was first obtained in \cite{CGS}. Such estimate general…
We look for nonconstant, positive, radially nondecreasing solutions of the quasilinear equation $-Δ_p u+u^{p-1}=f(u)$ with $p>2$, in the unit ball $B$ of $\mathbb R^N$, subject to homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The assumptions on the nonlinearity $f$ are very mild and allow it to be possibly supercritical in the sense of Sobolev embeddings. The main tools used are the truncation method and a mountain pass-type argument. In the pure power case, i.e., $f(u)=u^{q-1}$, we detect the limit profile of the solutions of the problems as $q\to\infty$.
In this paper, we study the following Dirichlet problem for a parabolic equation involving fractional $p$-Laplacian with logarithmic nonlinearity \begin{equation*}\label{eq}\left\{ \begin{array}{llc} u_{t}+(-Δ)^{s}_{p}u+|u|^{p-2}u=|u|^{p-2}u\log(|u|) & \text{in}\ & Ω,\;t>0 , u =0 & \text{in} & \mathbb{R}^{N}\backslash Ω,\;t > 0, u(x,0)=u_{0}(x), & \text{in} &Ω, \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N \, ( N\geq 1)$ is a bounded domain with Lipschitz boundary and $2\leq p< \infty$. The local existence will be done by using the Galerkin approximations. By combining the po…
We study the following boundary value problem with a concave-convex nonlinearity: \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{r c l l} -Δ_p u & = & Λ\,u^{q-1}+ u^{r-1} & \textrm{in }Ω, \\ u & = & 0 & \textrm{on }\partialΩ. \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} Here $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ is a bounded domain and $1<q<p<r<p^*$. It is well known that there exists a number $Λ_{q,r}>0$ such that the problem admits at least two positive solutions for $0<Λ<Λ_{q,r}$, at least one positive solution for $Λ=Λ_{q,r}$, and no positive solution for $Λ> Λ_{q,r}$. We show that \[ \lim_{q \to p} Λ_{q,r} = λ_1(p), \]…
This paper concerns the existence of normalized solutions to a class of $(2,q)$-Laplacian equations in all the possible cases according to the value of $p$ with respect to the critical exponent $2(1+2/N)$. In the $L^2$-subcritical case, we study a global minimization problem and obtain a ground state solution. While in the $L^2$-critical case, we prove several nonexistence results, extended also in the $L^q$-critical case. At last, we derive a ground state and infinitely many radial solutions in the $L^2$-supercritical case. Compared with the classical Schrödinger equation, the $(2,q)$-Laplaci…
In the present work we obtain the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the Choquard logarithmic equation $(-Δ)_{p}^{s}u + |u|^{p-2}u + (\ln|\cdot|\ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u = f(u) \textrm{ \ in \ } \mathbb{R}^N $ , where $ N=sp $, $ s\in (0, 1) $, $ p>2 $, $ a>0 $, $ λ>0 $ and $f: \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R} $ a continuous nonlinearity with exponential critical and subcritical growth. We guarantee the existence of a nontrivial solution at the mountain pass level and a nontrivial ground state solution under critical and subcritical growth. Morever, when $ f $ has subcritical…
In this paper, we are concern with the multiplicity of solutions for a p-Laplacian problem. A weaker super-quadratic assumptions is required on the nonlinearity. Under the weaker condition we give a new proof for the infinite solutions having a prescribed number of nodes to the problem. It turns out that the weaker condition on nonlinearity suffices to guarantee the infinitely many solutions. At the same time, a global characterization of the critical values of the nodal radial solutions are given.
In this paper we prove the existence of at least one positive solution for the nonlocal semipositone problem \[ \displaystyle \left\{\begin{array}{rcll} (-Δ)_p^s(u) &=& λf(u) \qquad & \text{in} \ \ Ω \\u &=& 0 & \text{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^N -Ω, \end{array}\right. \] whenever $λ>0$ is a sufficiently small parameter. Here $Ω\subseteq \mathbb{R}^N$ a bounded domain with $C^{1,1}$ boundary, $2\leqslant p <N$, $s\in (0,1)$ and $f$ superlineal and subcritical. We prove that if $λ>0$ is chosen sufficiently small the associated Energy Functional to the problem has a mountain pass structure and, therefor…
The purpose of this paper is to study nonlinear singular parabolic equations with $p(x)$- Laplacian. Precisely, we consider the following problem and discuss the existence of a non-negative weak solution. \begin{align*} \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}-Δ_{p(x)}u&=λu^{q(x)-1} + u^{-δ(x)}g+ f&&\text{in}~Q_T, u&= 0&&\text{on}~Σ_T, u(0,\cdot)&=u_0(\cdot)&&\text{in}~Ω\nonumber. \end{align*} Here $Q_T=Ω\times(0,T)$, $Σ_T=\partialΩ\times(0,T)$, $Ω$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$ ($N\geq 2$) with Lipschitz continuous boundary $\partialΩ$, $λ\in(0,\infty)$, $f\in L^1(Q_T)$, $g\in L^\infty(Ω)$, $u_0…
We perform an asymptotic analysis of models of population dynamics with a fractional Laplacian and local or nonlocal reaction terms. The first part of the paper is devoted to the long time/long range rescaling of the fractional Fisher-KPP equation. This rescaling is based on the exponential speed of propagation of the population. In particular we show that the only role of the fractional Laplacian in determining this speed is at the initial layer where it determines the thickness of the tails of the solutions. Next, we show that such rescaling is also possible for models with non-local reactio…
We study the nonlocal nonlinear problem \begin{equation}\label{ppp} \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{lll} (-Δ)^s u = λf(u) & \mbox{in }Ω, \\ u=0&\mbox{on } \mathbb{R}^N\setminusΩ, \end{array} \right. \tag{$P_λ$} \end{equation} where $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$\!,\,$N>2s$,\,$0<s<1$; $f:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow [0,\infty)$ is a nonlinear continuous function such that $f(0)=f(1)=0$ and $f(t)\sim |t|^{p-1}t$ as $t\rightarrow 0^+$, with $2<p+1<2^*_s$; and $λ$ is a positive parameter. We prove the existence of two nontrivial solutions $u_λ$ and $v_λ$ to (\ref{ppp}) such that $0\le u_λ< v_λ…
