New, doubling proofs are given for the interior Hessian estimates of the special Lagrangian equation. These estimates were originally shown by Chen-Warren-Yuan in CPAM 2009 and Wang-Yuan in AJM 2014. This yields a higher codimension analogue of Korevaar's 1987 pointwise proof of the gradient estimate for minimal hypersurfaces, without using the Michael-Simon mean value inequality.
In this paper, we derive a priori interior Hessian estimates for Lagrangian mean curvature equation if the Lagrangian phase is supercritical and has bounded second derivatives.
We derive a priori interior Hessian estimates for special Lagrangian equation with critical and supercritical phases in general higher dimensions. Our unified approach leads to sharper estimates even for the previously known three dimensional and convex solution cases.
We establish quadratic asymptotics for solutions to special Lagrangian equations with supercritical phases in exterior domains. The method is based on an exterior Liouville type result for general fully nonlinear elliptic equations toward constant asymptotics of bounded Hessian, and also certain rotation arguments toward Hessian bound. Our unified approach also leads to quadratic asymptotics for convex solutions to Monge-Ampère equations (previously known), quadratic Hessian equations, and inverse harmonic Hessian equations over exterior domains.
In this paper, we prove some rigidity theorems for the entire 2-convex solutions of 2-Hessian equation in Euclidean space. As an application, we obtain a Bernstein type theorem for global special Lagrangian graphs.
In this paper, we prove interior gradient estimates for the Lagrangian mean curvature equation, if the Lagrangian phase is critical and supercritical and $C^{2}$. Combined with the a priori interior Hessian estimates proved in [Bha21, Bha22], this solves the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the critical and supercritical Lagrangian mean curvature equation with $C^0$ boundary data. We also provide a uniform gradient estimate for lower regularity phases that satisfy certain additional hypotheses.
The aim of this expository article is to reveal the equivalence of Jörgens' Theorem on the two dimensional unimodular Hessian equation and Fu's Theorem on the two dimensional special Lagrangian equation.
A viscosity approach is introduced for the Dirichlet problem associated to complex Hessian type equations on domains in $\C^n$. The arguments are modelled on the theory of viscosity solutions for real Hessian type equations developed by Trudinger. As consequence we solve the Dirichlet problem for the Hessian quotient and special Lagrangian equations. We also establish basic regularity results for the solutions.
In this note, we use Warren-Yuan's super isoperimetric inequality on the level sets of subharmonic functions, which is available only in two dimensions, to derive a modified Hessian bound for solutions of the two dimensional Lagrangian mean curvature equation. We assume the Lagrangian phase to be supercritical with bounded second derivatives. Unlike the previous approach, the simplified approach in this proof does not require the Michael-Simon mean value and Sobolev inequalities on generalized submanifolds of $\mathbb{R}^n$.
In this paper, we mainly establish the existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions of the exterior Dirichlet problem for a class of fully nonlinear second-order elliptic equations related to the eigenvalues of the Hessian, with prescribed generalized symmetric asymptotic behavior at infinity. Moreover, we give some new results for the Hessian equations, Hessian quotient equations and the special Lagrangian equations, which have been studied previously.
In this paper we are interested in geometric aspects of blowup in the axisymmetric 3D Euler equations with swirl on a cylinder. Writing the equations in Lagrangian form for the flow derivative along either the axis or the boundary and imposing oddness on the vertical component of the flow, we extend some blowup criteria due to Chae, Constantin, and Wu related to assumptions on the sign of the pressure Hessian. In addition we give a geometric interpretation of the results, both in terms of the local geometry along trajectories and in terms of the Riemannian geometry of the volume-preserving dif…
The authors prove that the logarithmic Monge-Ampère flow with uniformly bound and convex initial data satisfies uniform decay estimates away from time $t=0$. Then applying the decay estimates, we conclude that every entire classical strictly convex solution of the equation {equation*} \det D^{2}u=\exp\{n(-u+1/2\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_{i}\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_{i}})\}, {equation*} should be a quadratic polynomial if the inferior limit of the smallest eigenvalue of the function $|x|^{2}D^{2}u$ at infinity has an uniform positive lower bound larger than $2(1-1/n)$. Using a similar method, we can pr…
