We obtain the local well-posedness for Dirac equations with a Hartree type nonlinearity derived by decoupling the Dirac-Klein-Gordon system. We extend the function space of initial data, enabling us to handle initial data that were not addressed in previous studies.
We prove several existence and non existence results of solitary waves for a class of nonlinear pseudo-relativistic Hartree equations with general nonlinearities. We use variational methods and some new variational identities involving the half Laplacian.
We consider a Cauchy problem of energy-critical fractional Schrödinger equation with Hartree nonlinearity below the energy space. Using a method of randomization of functions on $\mathbb{R}^d$ associated with the Wiener decomposition, introduced by Á. Bényi, T. Oh, and O. Pocovnicu \cite{beohpo1,beohpo2}, we prove that the Cauchy problem is almost surely locally well-posed. Our result includes Hartree Schrödinger equation ($α= 2$).
Recently low-regularity behaviour of solutions to cubic Dirac equations with the Hartree-type nonlinearity has been extensively studied in somewhat a specific assumption on the structure of the nonlinearity. The key approach of previous results was to exploit the null structure in the nonlinearity and the decay of the Yukawa potential. In this paper, we aim to go beyond; we investigate the strong scattering property of cubic Dirac equations with quite a general class of the Hartree-type nonlinearity, which covers the Coulomb potential as well as the Yukawa potential, and the bilinear form, in …
We study Cauchy problem for the Klein-Gordon (HNLKG), wave (HNLW) and Schrödinger (HNLS) equations with cubic convolution (Hartree type) nonlinearity. Some global well-posedness and scattering are obtained for the (HNLKG) and (HNLS) with small Cauchy data in some modulation spaces. Global well-posedness for fractional Schrödinger (fNLSH) equation with Hartree type nonlinearity is obtained with Cauchy data in some modulation spaces. Local well-posedness for (HNLW), (fHNLS) and (HNLKG) with rough data in modulation spaces is shown. This improves known results in Sobolev spaces in some sense. As …
We consider the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a Hartree nonlinearity: \[ i\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}+Δu+|u|^{\frac{4}{N}}u\pm\left(\frac{1}{|x|^{2σ}}\star|u|^2\right)u=0 \] in $\mathbb{R}^N$. We are interested in the existence and behaviour of minimal mass blow-up solutions. Previous studies have shown the existence of minimal mass blow-up solutions with an inverse power potential and investigated the behaviour of the solution. In this paper, we investigate Hartree nonlinearity, which is a nonlinear term similar to the inverse power-type potential in terms of scaling.
In this paper, we consider the nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equations with Hartree type nonlinearity. We obtain the existence of standing waves by studying the related constrained minimization problems by applying the concentration-compactness principle. Via symmetric decreasing rearrangements, we also show that the standing waves, up to a translations and phases, are positive symmetric nonincreasing functions. Moreover, we prove that the set of minimizers is a stable set for the initial value problem of the equations, that is, a solution whose initial data is near the set will remain near…
We study the Cauchy problem for the fractional Schrödinger equation $$ i\partial_tu = (m^2-Δ)^\frac\alpha2 u + F(u) in \mathbb{R}^{1+n}, $$ where $ n \ge 1$, $m \ge 0$, $1 < α< 2$, and $F$ stands for the nonlinearity of Hartree type: $$F(u) = λ(\frac{ψ(\cdot)}{|\cdot|^γ} * |u|^2)u$$ with $λ= \pm1, 0 <γ< n$, and $0 \le ψ\in L^\infty(\mathbb R^n)$. We prove the existence and uniqueness of local and global solutions for certain $α$, $γ$, $λ$, $ψ$. We also remark on finite time blowup of solutions when $λ= -1$.
We study the Cauchy problems for the Hartree-type nonlinear Dirac equations with Yukawa-type potential in two and three spatial dimensions. This paper improves our previous results \cite{chohlee,cholee}; we establish global well-posedness and scattering for large data with a certain condition. Firstly we investigate the long-time behavior of solutions to the Dirac equation satisfies good control provided that a particular dispersive norm of solutions is bounded. The key of our proof relies on modifying multilinear estimates obtained in our previous papers. Secondly, we obtain large data scatte…
We study the asymptotic behavior of the Schrödinger equation in the presence of a nonlinearity of Hartree type in the semi-classical regime. Our scaling corresponds to a weakly nonlinear regime where the nonlinearity affects the leading order amplitude of the solution without altering the rapid oscillations. We show the validity of the WKB-analysis when the potential in the nonlinearity is singular around the origin. No new resonant wave is created in our model, this phenomenon is inhibited due to the nonlinearity. The nonlocal nature of this latter leads us to build our result on a high-frequ…
We establish both a local and a global well-posedness theories for the nonlinear Hartree-Fock equations and its reduced analog in the setting of the modulation spaces on $\mathbb R^d$. In addition, we prove similar results when a harmonic potential is added to the equations. In the process, we prove the boundedeness of certain multilinear operators on products of the modulation spaces which may be of independent interest.
We prove that the initial value problem for the Dirac equation $ \left ( -iγ^μ\partial_μ+ m \right) ψ = \left(\frac{e^{- |x|}}{|x|} \ast ( \overline ψψ)\right) ψ\quad \text{in } \ \R^{1+3} $ is globally well-posed and the solution scatters to free waves asymptotically as $t \rightarrow \pm \infty$, if we start with initial data that is small in $H^s$ for $s>0$. This is an almost critical well-posedness result in the sense that $L^2$ is the critical space for the equation. The main ingredients in the proof are Strichartz estimates, space-time bilinear null-form estimates for free waves in $L^2$…
We consider the fractional Schrödinger equations with focusing Hartree type nonlinearity. When the energy is negative, we use a Glassey's virial type argument to show the finite time blow-up of solutions.
We prove that the initial value problem for the equation \[ - i\partial_t u + \sqrt{m^2-Δ} \, u= (\frac{e^{-μ_0 |x|}}{|x|} \ast |u|^2)u \ \text{in} \ \mathbb R^{1+3}, \quad m\ge 0, \ μ_0 >0\] is globally well-posed and the solution scatters to free waves asymptotically as $t \to \pm \infty$ if we start with initial data which is small in $H^s(\mathbb R^{3})$ for $s>\frac12$, and if $m>0$. Moreover, if the initial data is radially symmetric we can improve the above result to $m\ge 0$ and $s>0$, which is almost optimal, in the sense that $L^2(\mathbb R^{3})$ is the critical space for the equatio…
In this paper, we are concerned with static Schrödinger-Hartree and Schrödinger-Maxwell equations with combined nonlinearities. We derive the explicit forms for positive solution $u$ in the critical case and non-existence of nontrivial nonnegative solutions in the subcritical cases (see Theorem \ref{Thm0} and \ref{Thm1}). The arguments used in our proof is a variant (for nonlocal nonlinearity) of the direct moving spheres method for fractional Laplacians in \cite{CLZ}. The main ingredients are the variants (for nonlocal nonlinearity) of the maximum principles, i.e., \emph{Narrow region princip…
Local and global well - posedness of the solution to the two space dimensional Dirac equation with Hartree type nonlinearity is established with the initial datum in the space $H^s(\mathbb{R}^2, \mathbb{C}^2)$ with $s >0.$.
We study the Cauchy problem for fractional Schrödinger equation with cubic convolution nonlinearity ($i\partial_t u - (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}u\pm (K\ast |u|^2) u =0$) with Cauchy data in the modulation spaces $M^{p,q}(\mathbb R^{d}).$ For $K(x)= |x|^{-γ}$ $ (0< γ< \text{min} \{α, d/2\})$, we establish global well-posedness results in $M^{p,q}(\mathbb R^{d}) (1\leq p \leq 2, 1\leq q < 2d/ (d+γ))$ when $α=2, d\geq 1$, and with radial Cauchy data when $d\geq 2, \frac{2d}{2d-1}< α< 2. $ Similar results are proven in Fourier algebra $\mathcal{F}L^1(\mathbb R^d) \cap L^2(\mathbb R^d).$
We consider nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a Hartree-type nonlocal nonlinearity. The case where a nonlinear interaction potential grows at the spatial infinity is studied. By virtue of an effective decomposition of the nonlinearity based on conservation of mass, this kind of growing nonlinear interaction is known to contain an effect like a linear potential. In this paper, a well-posedness result is obtained in a suitable energy space for a class of interaction potential growing at the spatial infinity in at most the quadratic order. If the growth rate of interaction potential is faster t…
In this paper, we deal with the Cauchy problem of the quasilinear Schödinger equation \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} iu_t=Δu+2uh'(|u|^2)Δh(|u|^2)+(W(x)\ast|u|^2)u,\ x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\ t>0\\ u(x,0)=u_0(x),\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N. \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} Here $h(s)$ and $W(x)$ are some real valued functions. Our focus is to investigate how the interplay between the potential $W(x)$ and the quasilinear presence $h(s)$ affects the blowup in finite time and global existence of the solution. In a special, we can obtain the watershed condition on $W(x)$ in the following sens…
The aim of this paper is to show the local well-posedness of 2 dimensional Dirac equations with power type and Hartree type nonlinearity derived from honeycomb structure in $H^s$ for $s>\frac78$ and $s>\frac38$, respectively. We also provide the smoothness failure of flows of Dirac equations.
We justify WKB analysis for Hartree equation in space dimension at least three, in a regime which is supercritical as far as semiclassical analysis is concerned. The main technical remark is that the nonlinear Hartree term can be considered as a semilinear perturbation. This is in contrast with the case of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation with a local nonlinearity, where quasilinear analysis is needed to treat the nonlinearity.
We prove the decay in the energy space for the solution to the defocusing biharmonic Hartree-Fock equations with mass-supercritical and energy-subcritical Choquard-type nonlinearity in space dimension $d\geq3$. We treat both the free and the perturbed by a potential case. As a direct consequence, we obtain large-data scattering in $H^2(\mathbb R^d)^N, \, N\geq 1$.
We are interested in the general Choquard equation \begin{multline*} \sqrt{\strut -Δ+ m^2} \ u - mu + V(x)u - \fracμ{|x|} u = \left( \int_{\mathbb{R}^N} \frac{F(y,u(y))}{|x-y|^{N-α}} \, dy \right) f(x,u) - K (x) |u|^{q-2}u \end{multline*} under suitable assumptions on the bounded potential \(V\) and on the nonlinearity \(f\). Our analysis extends recent results by the second and third author on the problem with $μ= 0$ and pure-power nonlinearity $f(x,u)=|u|^{p-2}u$. We show that, under appropriate assumptions on the potential, whether the ground state does exist or not. Finally, we study the a…
In this paper we consider an Hartree-Fock type system made by two Schrödinger equations in presence of a Coulomb interacting term and a cooperative pure power and subcritical nonlinearity, driven by a suitable parameter $β\geq 0$. We show the existence of semitrivial and vectorial ground states solutions depending on the parameters involved. The asymptotic behavior with respect to the parameter $β$ of these solutions is also studied.
With appropriate hypotheses on the nonlinearity $f$, we prove the existence of a ground state solution $u$ for the problem \[(-Δ+m^2)^σu+Vu=\left(W*F(u)\right)f(u)\ \ \text{in }\ \mathbb{R}^{N},\] where $0<σ<1$, $V$ is a bounded continuous potential and $F$ the primitive of $f$. We also show results about the regularity of any solution of this problem.
With appropriate hypotheses on the nonlinearity $f$, we prove the existence of a ground state solution $u$ for the problem \[\sqrt{-Δ+m^2}\, u+Vu=\left(W*F(u)\right)f(u)\ \ \text{in }\ \mathbb{R}^{N},\] where $V$ is a bounded potential, not necessarily continuous, and $F$ the primitive of $f$. We also show that any of this problem is a classical solution. Furthermore, we prove that the ground state solution has exponential decay.
In this paper, we consider the scattering theory of the radial solution to focusing energy-subcritical Hartree equation with inverse-square potential in the energy space $H^{1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ using the method from \cite{Dodson2016}. The main difficulties are the equation is \emph{not} space-translation invariant and the nonlinearity is non-local. Using the radial Sobolev embedding and a virial-Morawetz type estimate we can exclude the concentration of mass near the origin. Besides, we can overcome the weak dispersive estimate when $a<0$, using the dispersive estimate established by \cite{zheng…
Scattering for the mass-critical fractional Schrödinger equation with a cubic Hartree-type nonlinearity for initial data in a small ball in the scale-invariant space of three-dimensional radial and square-integrable initial data is established. For this, we prove a bilinear estimate for free solutions and extend it to perturbations of bounded quadratic variation. This result is shown to be sharp by proving the unboundedness of a third order derivative of the flow map in the super-critical range.
We consider the Dirac equation with cubic Hartree-type nonlinearity derived by uncoupling the Dirac-Klein-Gordon systems. We prove small data scattering result in full subcritical range. Main ingredients of the proof are the localized Strichartz estimates, improved bilinear estimates thanks to null-structure hidden in Dirac operator and $Up,Vp$ function spaces. We apply the projection operator and get a system which of linear part is the Klein-Gordon type. It enables us to exploit the null-structures in equation. This result is shown to be almost optimal by showing that iteration method based …
In this paper we study the small data scattering of Hartree type semirelativistic equation in space dimension $3$. The Hartree type nonlinearity is $[V * |u|^2]u$ and the potential $V$ which generalizes the Yukawa has some growth condition. We show that the solution scatters to linear solution if an initial data given in $ H^{s,1}$ is sufficiently small and $s>\frac14$. Here, $H^{s, 1}$ is Sobolev type space taking in angular regularity with norm defined by $\|φ\|_{ H^{s, 1}} = \|φ\|_{ H^{s}} + \|\nabla_{\mathbb S} φ\|_{H^{s}}$. To establish the results we employ the recently developed Stricha…
In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of 2d Dirac equation with Hartree type nonlinearity $c(|\cdot|^{-γ} * \langle ψ, βψ\rangle)βψ$ with $c\in \mathbb R\setminus\{0\} $, $0 < γ< 2$. Our aim is to show the small data global well-posedness and scattering in $H^s$ for $s > γ-1$ and $1 < γ< 2$. The difficulty stems from the singularity of the low-frequency part $|ξ|^{-(2-γ)}χ_{\{|ξ|\le 1\}}$ of potential. To overcome it we adapt $U^p-V^p$ space argument and bilinear estimates of \cite{yang, tes2d} arising from the null structure. We also provide nonexistence result for scattering in the long…
We investigate the well-posedness in the generalized Hartree equation $iu_t + Δu + (|x|^{-(N-γ)} \ast |u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0$, $x \in \mathbb{R}^N$, $0<γ<N$, for low powers of nonlinearity, $p<2$. We establish the local well-posedness for a class of data in weighted Sobolev spaces, following ideas of Cazenave and Naumkin [6]. This crucially relies on the boundedness of the Riesz transform in weighted Lebesgue spaces. As a consequence, we obtain a class of data that exists globally, moreover, scatters in positive time. Furthermore, in the focusing case in the $L^2$-supercritical setting we obtain a…
We consider Cauchy problem of the Hartree-type nonlinear Dirac equation with potentials given by $V_b(x) = \frac1{4π}\frac{e^{-b|x|}}{|x|}\, (b \ge 0)$. In previous works, a standard argument is to utilise null form estimates in order to prove global well-posedness for $H^s$-data, $s>0$. However, the null structure inside the equations is not enough to attain the critical regularity. We impose an extra regularity assumption with respect to the angular variable. Firstly, we prove global well-posedness and scattering of Dirac equations with Hartree-type nonlinearity for $b>0$ for small $L^2_x$-d…
This paper is devoted to the investigation of long-time behaviour of solutions to wave equations with quadratic nonlinearity and cubic Dirac equations with Hartree-type nonlinearity. We consider the nonlinearity here with enough simplicity so that we can treat it as a toy model and simultaneously with enough generality so that we can apply our result to wave and Dirac equations with various nonlinearities. The challenging point is that nonlinearity possesses singularity near the origin. Our strategy is to relax such a singularity by exploiting fully an angular momentum operator. In this manner…
We prove global wellposedness of the Klein-Gordon equation with power nonlinearity $|u|^{α-1}u$, where $α\in\left[1,\frac{d}{d-2}\right]$, in dimension $d\geq3$ with initial data in $M_{p, p'}^{1}(\mathbb{R}^d)\times M_{p,p'}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ for $p$ sufficiently close to $2$. The proof is an application of the high-low method described by Bourgain [1] where the Klein-Gordon equation is studied in one dimension with cubic nonlinearity for initial data in Sobolev spaces.
In this paper, we consider the Maxwell-Dirac system in 3 dimension under zero magnetic field. We prove the global well-posedness and modified scattering for small solutions in the weighted Sobolev class. Imposing the Lorenz gauge condition, (and taking the Dirac projection operator), it becomes a system of Dirac equations with Hartree type nonlinearity with a long range potential as $|x|^{-1} $. We perform the weighted energy estimates. In this procedure, we have to deal with various resonance functions that stem from the Dirac projections. We use the spacetime resonance argument of Germain-Ma…
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation whose nonlinearity is $|u|^{k}u$ in the modulation space, where $k$ is not an integer. Our method can be applied to other equations whose nonlinear parts have regularity estimates. We also study the global solution with small initial value for the Klein-Gordon-Hartree equation. By this we can show some advantages of modulation spaces both in high and low regularity cases.
We consider the semiclassical limit of the Hartree equation with a data causing a focusing at a point. We study the asymptotic behavior of phase function associated with the WKB approximation near the caustic when a nonlinearity is supercritical. In this case, it is known that a phase shift occurs in a neighborhood of focusing time in the case of focusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Thanks to the smoothness of the nonlocal nonlinearities, we justify the WKB-type approximation of the solution for a data which is larger than in the previous results and is not necessarily well-prepared.…
In this paper, we consider the dynamics of the solution to the mass critical focusing Hartree equation with inverse-square potential in the energy space $H^{1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. The main difficulties are the equation is \emph{not} space-translation invariant and the nonlinearity is non-local. We first prove that if the mass of the initial data is less than that of ground states, then the solution will be global. Although we don't know whether the ground state is unique, we can verify all the ground states have the same, minimal mass threshold. Then at the minimal mass threshold, we can construct…
We study the inverse scattering problem for the three dimensional nonlinear Schroedinger equation with the Yukawa potential. The nonlinearity of the equation is nonlocal. We reconstruct the potential and the nonlinearity by the knowledge of the scattering states. Our result is applicable to reconstructing the nonlinearity of the semi-relativistic Hartree equation.
We consider a class of evolution equations in Lindblad form, which model the dynamics of dissipative quantum mechanical systems with mean-field interaction. Particularly, this class includes the so-called Quantum Fokker-Planck-Poisson model. The existence and uniqueness of global-in-time, mass preserving solutions is proved, thus establishing the existence of a nonlinear conservative quantum dynamical semigroup. The mathematical difficulties stem from combining an unbounded Lindblad generator with the Hartree nonlinearity.
