We formulate a notion of jet bundles over a possibly noncommutative algebra $A$ equipped with a torsion free connection. Among the conditions needed for 3rd-order jets and above is that the connection also be flat and its `generalised braiding tensor' $σ:Ω^1\otimes_AΩ^1\to Ω^1\otimes_AΩ^1$ obey the Yang-Baxter equation or braid relations. We also cover the case of jet bundles of a given `vector bundle' over $A$ in the form of a bimodule $E$ with a flat bimodule connection with its braiding $σ_E$ obeying the coloured braid relations. Examples include the permutation group $S_3$ with its 2-cycles calculus, $M_2(\Bbb C)$, the bicrossproduct model quantum spacetime in two dimensions and $\Bbb C_q[SL_2]$ for $q$ a 4th root of unity.
We review our construction of star-products on Poisson manifolds and discuss some examples. In particular, we work out the relation with Fedosov's original construction in the symplectic case.
Quantum affine bundles are quantum principal bundles with affine quantum structure groups. A general theory of quantum affine bundles is presented. In particular, a detailed analysis of differential calculi over these bundles is performed, including the description of a natural differential calculus over the structure affine quantum group. A particular attention is given to the study of the specific properties of quantum affine connections and several purely quantum phenomena appearing in the context of quantum affine bundles. Various interesting constructions are presented. In particular, the…
We define locally trivial quantum vector bundles (QVB) and QVB associated to locally trivial quantum principal fibre bundles. There exists a differential structure on the associated vector bundle coming from the differential structure on the principal bundle, which allows to define connections on the associated vector bundle associated to connections on the principal bundle.
Over the quantum weighted 1-dimensional complex projective spaces, called quantum teardrops, the quantum line bundles associated with the quantum principal U(1)-bundles introduced and studied by Brzezinski and Fairfax are explicitly identified among the finitely generated projective modules which are classified up to isomorphism. The quantum lens space in which these quantum line bundles are embedded is realized as a concrete groupoid C*-algebra.
Two hierarchies of quantum principal bundles over quantum real projective spaces are constructed. One hierarchy contains bundles with U(1) as a structure group, the other has the quantum group $SU_q(2)$ as a fibre. Both hierarchies are obtained by the process of prolongation from bundles with the cyclic group of order 2 as a fibre. The triviality or otherwise of these bundles is determined by using a general criterion for a prolongation of a comodule algebra to be a cleft Hopf-Galois extension.
The quantum flag manifold ${SU_q(3)/\mathbb{T}^2}$ is interpreted as a noncommutative bundle over the quantum complex projective plane with the quantum or Podleś sphere as a fibre. A connection arising from the (associated) quantum principal $U_q(2)$-bundle is described.
Quantum principal bundles or principal comodule algebras are re-interpreted as principal bundles within a framework of Synthetic Noncommutative Differential Geometry. More specifically, the notion of a noncommutative principal bundle within a braided monoidal category is introduced and it is shown that a noncommutative principal bundle in the category opposite to the category of vector spaces is the same as a faithfully flat Hopf-Galois extension.
A noncommutative-geometric formalism of framed principal bundles is sketched, in a special case of quantum bundles (over quantum spaces) possessing classical structure groups. Quantum counterparts of torsion operators and Levi-Civita type connections are analyzed. A construction of a natural differential calculus on framed bundles is described. Illustrative examples are presented.
Following the approach of Budzyński and Kondracki, we define covariant differential algebras and connections on locally trivial quantum principal fibre bundles. We also consider covariant derivatives, connection forms and curvatures and explore the relations between these notions. As an example, a U(1) quantum principal bundle over a glued quantum sphere and a connection in this bundle is constructed. This connection may be interpreted as a q-deformed Dirac monopole.
We describe a locally trivial quantum principal U(1)-bundle over the quantum space S^2_{pq} which is a noncommutative analogue of the usual Hopf bundle. We also provide results concerning the structure of its total space algebra (irreducible *-representations and topological K-groups) and its Galois aspects (Galois property, existence of a strong connection, non-cleftness).
It is shown that every quantum principal bundle is braided, in the sense that there exists an intrinsic braid operator twisting the functions on the bundle. A detailed algebraic analysis of this operator is performed. In particular, it turns out that the braiding admits a natural extension to the level of arbitrary differential forms on the bundle. Applications of the formalism to the study of quantum gauge transformations are presented.
We investigate a quantum twistor bundle constructed as a $U(1)$-quotient of the quantum instanton bundle of Bonechi, Ciccoli and Tarlini. It is an example of a noncommutative bundle fulfilling conditions of the purely algebraic framework proposed by Brzeziński and Szymański. We provide a detailed description of the corresponding $C^*$-algebra of `continuous functions' on its noncommutative total space.
Quantum homogeneous vector bundles are introduced by a direct description of their sections in the context of Woronowicz type compact quantum groups. The bundles carry natural topologies inherited from the quantum groups, and their sections furnish projective modules over algebras of functions on quantum homogeneous spaces. Further properties of the quantum homogeneous vector bundles are investigated, and their applications to the representation theory of quantum groups are explored. In particular, quantum Frobenius reciprocity and a generalized Borel-Weil theorem are established.
The algebraic approach to bundles in non-commutative geometry and the definition of quantum real weighted projective spaces are reviewed. Principal U(1)-bundles over quantum real weighted projective spaces are constructed. As the spaces in question fall into two separate classes, the {\em negative} or {\em odd} class that generalises quantum real projective planes and the {\em positive} or {\em even} class that generalises the quantum disc, so do the constructed principal bundles. In the negative case the principal bundle is proven to be non-trivial and associated projective modules are descri…
A noncommutative-geometric generalization of the classical formalism of frame bundles is developed, incorporating into the theory of quantum principal bundles the concept of the Levi-Civita connection. The construction of a natural differential calculus on quantum principal frame bundles is presented, including the construction of the associated differential calculus on the structure group. General torsion operators are defined and analyzed. Illustrative examples are presented.
We give the superalgebra of $N=2$ chiral (and antichiral) quantum superfields realized as a subalgebra of the quantum supergroup $\mathrm{SL}_q(4|2)$. The multiplication law in the quantum supergroup induces a coaction on the set of chiral superfields. We also realize the quantum deformation of the chiral Minkowski superspace as a quantum principal bundle.
It is shown that every quantum principal bundle with a compact structure group is a Hopf-Galois extension. This property naturally extends to the level of general differential structures, so that every differential calculus over a quantum principal bundle with a compact structure group is a graded-differential variant of the Hopf-Galois extension.
The notion of a translation map in a quantum principal bundle is introduced. A translation map is then used to prove that the cross sections of a quantum fibre bundle $E(B,V,A)$ associated to a quantum principal bundle $P(B,A)$ are in bijective correspondence with equivariant maps $V\to P$, and that a quantum principal bundle is trivial if it admits a cross section which is an algebra map. The vertical automorphisms and gauge transformations of a quantum principal bundle are discussed. In particular it is shown that vertical automorphisms are in bijective correspondence with $\ad$-covariant ma…
A generalization of classical gauge theory is presented, in the framework of a noncommutative-geometric formalism of quantum principal bundles over smooth manifolds. Quantum counterparts of classical gauge bundles, and classical gauge transformations, are introduced and investigated. A natural differential calculus on quantum gauge bundles is constructed and analyzed. Kinematical and dynamical properties of corresponding gauge theories are discussed.
We construct a quantum frame bundle of the quantum plane $C^2_p$ by requiring that a $GL_{q,p}(2)$-covariant differential calculus on $C^2_p$ be isomorphic as a bimodule to the space of sections of the associated quantum cotangent bundle. We also construct the section space of the associated quantum tangent bundle, and show that it is naturally dual to the differential calculus.
A constructive approach to differential calculus on quantum principal bundles is presented. The calculus on the bundle is built in an intrinsic manner, starting from given graded (differential) *-algebras representing horizontal forms on the bundle and differential forms on the base manifold, together with a family of antiderivations acting on horizontal forms, playing the role of covariant derivatives of regular connections. In this conceptual framework, a natural differential calculus on the structure quantum group is described.
A general noncommutative-geometric theory of principal bundles is presented. Quantum groups play the role of structure groups. General quantum spaces play the role of base manifolds. A differential calculus on quantum principal bundles is studied. In particular, algebras of horizontal and verticalized differential forms on the bundle are introduced and investigated. The formalism of connections is developed. Operators of horizontal projection, covariant derivative and curvature are constructed and analyzed. A quantum generalization of classical Weil's theory of characteristic classes is sketch…
It is shown that the principle of locality and noncommutative geometry can be connnected by a sheaf theoretical method. In this framework quantum spaces are introduced and examples in mathematical physics are given. With the language of quantum spaces noncommutative principal and vector bundles are defined and their properties are studied. Important constructions in the classical theory of principal fibre bundles like associated bundles and differential calculi are carried over to the quantum case. At the end $q$-deformed instanton models are introduced for every integral index.
The structure of quantum principal bundles is studied, from the viewpoint of Tannaka-Krein duality theory. It is shown that if the structure quantum group is compact, principal G-bundles over a quantum space M are in a natural correspondence with certain contravariant functors defined on the category of finite-dimensional unitary representations of G, with the values in the category of finite projective bimodules over a *-algebra representing the base space.
The paper introduces a new geometric interpretation of the quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations introduced in 1991 by I.Frenkel and N.Reshetikhin. It turns out that these equations can be linked to certain holomorphic vector bundles on the N-th Cartesian power of an elliptic curve. These bundles are naturally constructed by a gluing procedure from a system of trigonometric quantum affine $R$-matrices. Meromorphic solutions of the quantum KZ equations are interpreted as sections of such a bundle. This interpretation is an analogue of the interpretation of solutions of the classical KZ equat…
Differential calculi are obtained for quantum homogeneous spaces by extending Woronowicz' approach to the present context. Representation theoretical properties of the differential calculi are investigated. Connections on quantum homogeneous vector bundles are classified and explicitly constructed by using the theory of projective modules.
It is shown that quantum homogeneous spaces of a quantum group H can be viewed as fibres of quantum fibrations with the total space H that are dual to coalgebra bundles. As concrete examples of such structures the fibrations with the quantum 2-sphere and the quantum hyperboloid fibres are considered.
We describe hypergeometric solutions of the quantum differential equation of the cotangent bundle of a gl_n partial flag variety. These hypergeometric solutions manifest the Landau-Ginzburg mirror symmetry for the cotangent bundle of a partial flag variety.
