In this paper, we have investigated the generalized Wiener space of bounded variation with $p$-variable. Various results are obtained such as uniform convexity and reflexivity, there was characterized the set of points of discontinuity of functions from this space. For bounded exponents, it is shown the existence of right and left-hand limits in each point. Also, there is an unbounded exponent such that in corresponding generalized Wiener bounded variation space exists a function that does not have the right-hand limit at a point. Also, for some wide classes of exponents in this space additivity of the variation is not fulfilled.
This paper provides sufficient conditions for the boundedness of Weyl operators on modulation spaces. The Weyl symbols belong to Wiener amalgam spaces, or generalized modulation spaces, as recently renamed by their inventor Hans Feichtinger. This is the first result which relates symbols in Wiener amalgam spaces to operators acting on classical modulation spaces.
We introduce and study spaces of multivariate functions of bounded variation generalizing the classical Jordan and Wiener spaces. Multivariate generalizations of the Jordan space were given by several prominent researchers but each of them preserved only some special properties of the space used further in few selected applications. Unlike this the multivariate generalization of the Jordan space presented in this paper preserves all known and reveals some previously unknown properties of the space. These, in turn, are special cases of the basic properties of the introduced spaces proved in the…
Let $BV_p[0,1]$, $1\le p<\infty$, be the Banach algebra of functions of bounded $p$-variation in the sense of Wiener. Recently, Kowalczyk and Turowska \cite{KT19} proved that the multiplication in $BV_1[0,1]$ is an open bilinear mapping. We extend this result for all values of $p\in[1,\infty)$.
We study the bounded operators on weighted spaces Lw^2 on R^+ commuting either with the right translations St or left translations and we establish the existence of a symbol for these operators. We characterize completely the spectrum of St. We give also a spectral results for the left translations and for the bounded operators commuting with the semi-group (St) or with the semi-group of the left translations.
We show that the symbol of a bounded composition operator on the Wiener algebra of Dirichlet series does not need to belong to this algebra. Our example even gives an absolutely summing (hence compact) composition operator.
We study functions of bounded variation defined in an abstract Wiener space X, relating the variation of a function u on a convex open set O in X to the behavior near t=0 of T(t)u, T(t) being the Ornstein--Uhlenbeck semigroup in O.
A Wiener-Hopf operator on a Banach space of functions on R+ is a bounded operator T such that P^+S_{-a}TS_a=T, for every positive a, where S_a is the operator of translation by a. We obtain a representation theorem for the Wiener-Hopf operators on a large class of functions on R+ with values in a separable Hilbert space.
We define a capacity C on abstract Wiener spaces and prove that, for any u with bounded variation, the total variation measure |Du| is absolutely continuous with respect to C: this enables us to extend the usual rules of calculus in many cases dealing with BV functions. As an application, we show that, on the classical Wiener space, the random variable sup_{0\leqt\leqT} W_t admits a measure as second derivative, whose total variation measure is singular w.r.t. the Wiener measure.
We prove a Wiener energy estimate for relaxed Dirichlet problems $Lu + μu =ν$ in $Ω$, with $L$ an uniformly elliptic operator with bounded coefficients, $μ$ a measure of ${\cal M}_0(Ω)$, $ν$ a Kato measure and $Ω$ a bounded open set of ${\bf R}^N$, $N \geq 2$. Choosing a particular $μ$, we obtain an energy estimate also for classical variational Dirichlet problems.
We consider Banach spaces equipped with a set of strongly continuous bounded semigroups satisfying certain conditions. Using these semigroups we introduce an analog of a modulus of continuity and define analogs of Besov norms. A generalization of a classical interpolation theorem is proven in which the role of Sobolev spaces is played by subspaces defined in terms of infinitesimal operators of these semigroups. We show that our assumptions about a given set of semigroups are satisfied in the case of a strongly continuous bounded representation of a Lie group. In the case of a unitary represent…
We study the operators T on the weighted space L^p commuting either with the right translations St or left translations P^+S_{-t} and we establish the existence of a symbol of T. We characterize completely the spectrum of St. We obtain a similar result for the spectrum of P^+S_{-t} and some spectral results for the bounded operators commuting with (St), t>0 or with (P^+St), t<0.
We show convexity of solutions to a class of convex variational problems in the Gauss and in the Wiener space. An important tool in the proof is a representation formula for integral functionals in this infinite dimensional setting, that extends analogous results valid in the classical Euclidean framework.
In this paper we focus on the almost-diagonalization properties of $τ$-pseudodifferential operators using techniques from time-frequency analysis. Our function spaces are modulation spaces and the special class of Wiener amalgam spaces arising by considering the action of the Fourier transform of modulation spaces. A particular example is provided by the Sjöstrand class, for which Gröchenig exhibited the almost diagonalization of Weyl operators. We shall show that such result can be extended to any $τ$-pseudodifferential operator, for $τ\in [0,1]$, also with symbol in weighted Wiener amalgam s…
We prove that every positive bounded invertible Wiener-Hopf operator admits triangular factorization. This answers the question posed by L.Sakhnovich in 1994.
We generalize the results for Banach algebras of pseudodifferential operators obtained by Gröchenig and Rzeszotnik in [24] to quasi-algebras of Fourier integral operators. Namely, we introduce quasi-Banach algebras of symbol classes for Fourier integral operators that we call generalized metaplectic operators, including pseudodifferential operators. This terminology stems from the pioneering work on Wiener algebras of Fourier integral operators [11], which we generalize to our framework. This theory finds applications in the study of evolution equations such as the Cauchy problem for the Schrö…
We describe the complete interpolating sequences for the Paley-Wiener spaces $L^p_π$ ($1<p<\infty$) in terms of Muckenhoupt's $(A_p)$ condition. For $p=2$, this description coincides with those given by Pavlov (1979), Nikol'skii (1980), and Minkin (1992) of the unconditional bases of complex exponentials in $L^2(-π,π)$. While the techniques of these authors are linked to the Hilbert space geometry of $L^2_π$, our method of proof is based on turning the problem into one about boundedness of the Hilbert transform in certain weighted $L^p$ spaces of functions and sequences.
We prove convergence of symmetric diffusions on Wiener spaces by using stopping times arguments and capacity techniques. The drifts of the diffusions can be singular, we require the densities of the processes to be neither bounded from above nor away from zero.
We study continuity properties on modulation spaces for $τ$-pseudodifferential operators with symbols $a$ in Wiener amalgam spaces. We obtain boundedness results for $τ\in (0,1)$ whereas, in the end-points $τ=0$ and $τ=1$, the corresponding operators are in general unbounded. Furthermore, for $τ\in (0,1)$, we exhibit a function of $τ$ which is an upper bound for the operator norm. The continuity properties of $τ$-pseudodifferential operators, for any $τ\in [0,1]$, with symbols $a$ in modulation spaces are well known. Here we find an upper bound for the operator norm which does not depend on th…
Let (E,H,mu) be an abstract Wiener space and let D_V := VD, where D denotes the Malliavin derivative and V is a closed and densely defined operator from H into another Hilbert space G. Given a bounded operator B on G, coercive on the closure of the range of V, we consider the realisation of the operator D_V* B D_V in L^p(E,mu) for 1<p<\infty. Our main result states that the following assertions are equivalent: (1) dom((sqrt(D_V* B D_V)) = dom(D_V) and Meyer's inequalities hold for D_V* B D_V; (2) D_V D_V* B admits a bounded H-infinity calculus on the closure of the range of D_V; (3) dom(sqrt(V…

In this paper, using a very general Cameron--Storvick theorem on the Wiener space $C_0[0,T]$, we establish various integration by parts formulas involving generalized analytic Feynman integrals, generalized analytic Fourier--Feynman transforms, and the first variation (associated with Gaussian processes) of functionals $F$ on $C_0[0,T]$ having the form $F(x)=f(\langle{α_1,x}\rangle, \ldots, \langle{α_n,x}\rangle)$ for scale almost every $x\in C_0[0,T]$, where $\langle{α,x}\rangle$ denotes the Paley--Wiener--Zygmund stochastic integral $\int_0^T α(t)dx(t)$, and $\{α_1,\ldots,α_n\}$ is an orthog…
The aim of this book is to give a rigorous introduction for the graduate students to Analysis on Wiener space, a subject which has grown up very quickly these recent years under the new impulse of the Stochastic Calculus of Variations of Paul Malliavin.
It is shown that Paley-Wiener functions on Riemannian manifolds of bounded geometry can be reconstructed in a stable way from some countable sets of their inner products with certain distributions of compact support. A reconstruction method in terms of frames is given which is a generalization of the classical result of Duffin-Schaeffer about exponential frames on intervals. All results are specified in the case of the two-dimensional hyperbolic space in its Poincare upper half-plane realization.
We give a complete characterization of the continuity of pseudodifferential operators with symbols in modulation spaces $M^{p,q}$, acting on a given Lebesgue space $L^r$. Namely, we find the full range of triples $(p,q,r)$, for which such a boundedness occurs. More generally, we completely characterize the same problem for operators acting on Wiener amalgam space $W(L^r,L^s)$ and even on modulation spaces $M^{r,s}$. Finally the action of pseudodifferential operators with symbols in $W(\Fur L^1,L^\infty)$ is also investigated.
In this paper various properties of global and local changes of variables as well as properties of canonical transforms are investigated on modulation and Wiener amalgam spaces. We establish several relations among localisations of modulation and Wiener amalgam spaces and, as a consequence, we obtain several versions of local and global Beurling-Helson type theorems. We also establish a number of positive results such as local boundedness of canonical transforms on modulation spaces, properties of homogeneous changes of variables, and local continuity of Fourier integral operators on Fourier L…
We prove the equivalence of two different types of capacities in abstract Wiener spaces. This yields a criterion for the $L^p$-uniqueness of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator and its integer powers defined on suitable algebras of functions vanishing in a neighborhood of a given closed set $Σ$ of zero Gaussian measure. To prove the equivalence we show the $W^{r,p}(B,μ)$-boundedness of certain smooth nonlinear truncation operators acting on potentials of nonnegative functions. We also give connections to Gaussian Hausdorff measures. Roughly speaking, if $L^p$-uniqueness holds then the 'removed' se…
We discuss the boundedness of Berezin-Toeplitz operators on a generalized Segal-Bargmann space (Fock space) over the complex $n$-space. This space is characterized by the image of a global Bargmann-type transform introduced by Sjöstrand. We also obtain the deformation estimates of the composition of Berezin-Toeplitz operators whose symbols and their derivatives up to order three are in the Wiener algebra of Sjöstrand. Our method of proofs is based on the pseudodifferential calculus and the heat flow determined by the phase function of the Bargmann transform.
Consider an $L^1$-continuous functional $\ell$ on the vector space of polynomials of Brownian motion at given times, suppose $\ell $ commutes with the quadratic variation in a natural sense, and consider a finite set of polynomials of Brownian motion at rational times, $f_1(\vec b),...,f_m(\vec b)$, mapping the Wiener space to $\mathbb{R}$. In the spirit of Schmüdgen's solution to the finite-dimensional moment problem, we give sufficient conditions under which $\ell$ can be written in the form $\int \cdot dμ$ for some finite measure $μ$ on the Wiener space such that $μ$-almost surely, all the …
We give sufficient and necessary conditions on the Lebesgue exponents for the Weyl product to be bounded on modulation spaces. The sufficient conditions are obtained as the restriction to $N=2$ of a result valid for the $N$-fold Weyl product. As a byproduct, we obtain sharp conditions for the twisted convolution to be bounded on Wiener amalgam spaces.
We provide three different characterizations of the space $BV(O,γ)$ of the functions of bounded variation with respect to a centred non-degenerate Gaussian measure $ γ$ on open domains $O$ in Wiener spaces. Throughout these different characterizations we deduce a sufficient condition for belonging to $BV(O,γ)$ by means of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup and we provide an explicit formula for one-dimensional sections of functions of bounded variation. Finally, we apply our technique to Fomin differentiable probability measures $ν$ on a Hilbert space $X$, inferring a characterization of the spa…
We modify the classical Paley-Wiener spaces $PW_x$ of entire functions of finite exponential type at most $x>0$, which are square integrable on the real line, via the additional condition of vanishing at finitely many complex points $z_1, ..., z_n$. We compute the reproducing kernels and relate their variations with respect to $x$ to a Krein differential system, whose coefficient (which we call the $μ$-function) and solutions have determinantal expressions. Arguments specific to the case where the "trivial zeros" $z_1, ..., z_n$ are in arithmetic progression on the imaginary axis allow us to e…
We provide an abstract variational existence and uniqueness result for multi-valued, monotone, non-coercive stochastic evolution inclusions in Hilbert spaces with general additive and Wiener multiplicative noise. As examples we discuss certain singular diffusion equations such as the stochastic 1-Laplacian evolution (total variation flow) in all space dimensions and the stochastic singular fast diffusion equation. In case of additive Wiener noise we prove the existence of a unique weak-* mean ergodic invariant measure.
We prove a generalisation of Fernique's theorem which applies to a class of (measurable) functionals on abstract Wiener spaces by using the isoperimetric inequality. Our motivation comes from rough path theory where one deals with iterated integrals of Gaussian processes (which are generically not Gaussian). Gaussian integrability with explicitly given constants for variation and Hölder norms of the (fractional) Brownian rough path, Gaussian rough paths and the Banach space valued Wiener process enhanced with its Lévy area [Ledoux, Lyons, Quian. "Lévy area of Wiener processes in Banach spaces"…
We develop a theory of Malliavin calculus for Banach space valued random variables. Using radonifying operators instead of symmetric tensor products we extend the Wiener-Ito isometry to Banach spaces. In the white noise case we obtain two sided L^p-estimates for multiple stochastic integrals in arbitrary Banach spaces. It is shown that the Malliavin derivative is bounded on vector-valued Wiener-Ito chaoses. Our main tools are decoupling inequalities for vector-valued random variables. In the opposite direction we use Meyer's inequalities to give a new proof of a decoupling result for Gaussian …
We introduce a decoupling method on the Wiener space to define a wide class of an\-iso\-tro\-pic Besov spaces. The decoupling method is based on a general distributional approach and not restricted to the Wiener space. The class of Besov spaces we introduce contains the traditional isotropic Besov spaces obtained by the real interpolation method, but also new spaces that are designed to investigate backwards stochastic differential equations (BSDEs). As examples we discuss the Besov regularity (in the sense of our spaces) of forward diffusions and local times. It is shown that among our newly …
It is known that Fourier integral operators arising when solving Schrödinger-type operators are bounded on the modulation spaces $\cM^{p,q}$, for $1\leq p=q\leq\infty$, provided their symbols belong to the Sjöstrand class $M^{\infty,1}$. However, they generally fail to be bounded on $\cM^{p,q}$ for $p\not=q$. In this paper we study several additional conditions, to be imposed on the phase or on the symbol, which guarantee the boundedness on $\cM^{p,q}$ for $p\not=q$, and between $\cM^{p,q}\to\cM^{q,p}$, $1\leq q< p\leq\infty$. We also study similar problems for operators acting on Wiener amalg…
The named space denoted by $V_{pq}^k$ consists of $L_q$ functions on $[0,1)^d$ of bounded $p$-variation of order $k\in\mathbb N$. It generalizes the classical spaces $V_p(0,1)$ ($=V_{p\infty}^1$) and $BV([0,1)^d)$ ($V_{1q}^1$ where $q:=\frac d{d-1}$) and closely relates to several important smoothness spaces, e.g., to Sobolev spaces over $L_p$, $BV$ and $BMO$ and to Besov spaces. The main approximation result concerns the space $V_{pq}^k$ of \textit{smoothness} $s:=d\left(\frac1p-\frac1q\right)\in(0,k]$. It asserts the following: Let $f\in V_{pq}^k$ are of smoothness $s\in(0,k]$ and $N\in\math…
