Previous studies showed that, in the presence of a simple and well-motivated self-interaction scalar potential, asymptotically flat and spherical black holes can carry minimally coupled and charged scalar cloud/hair in Einstein-Maxwell gravity. We extend these studies to Einstein-Born-Infeld gravity to consider the effect of nonlinearity of the electromagnetic field. Series of spherical cloudy/hairy black hole solutions are constructed numerically. Results show that increasing the Born-Infeld coupling constant $b$ will make the domain of existence of the solution shrink or even disappear when $b$ is large enough. This implies that, competing with the gravitation, nonlinearity of the electromagnetic field will make the formation of scalar cloud/hair harder or even impossible.
We study the Einstein-Born-Infeld (EBI) theory where the hairy black hole was found as the EBI black hole by using Hod's idea. The hair extends beyond the photon-sphere of the EBI black hole spacetimes. We show that the region beyond the photon-sphere involves more than half of the total hair's mass, which respects Hod's conjectured bound.
We study hair mass distributions in noncommutative Einstein-Born-Infeld hairy black holes with non-zero cosmological constants. We find that the larger noncommutative parameter makes the hair easier to condense in the near horizon area. We also show that Hod's lower bound can be evaded in the noncommutative gravity. However, for large black holes with a non-negative cosmological constant, Hod's lower hair mass bound almost holds in the sense that nearly half of the hair lays above the photonsphere.
We study two types of linear instabilities in Einstein-Born-Infeld-scalar field theory and show that small Born-Infeld (BI) black holes suffer from superradiant instability within a particular range of frequencies; the larger the BI coupling parameter, the slower the growth rate of the instability. It is predicted that a small BI black hole decays into a small hairy black hole that has a charged scalar condensate floating near the horizon. We numerically show that there is a phase transition between hairy and BI black holes. The metric solution shows the existence of a hairy black hole for $T<…
We study mass bounds of Maxwell fields in RN black holes and genuine hair in Einstein-Born-Infeld black holes with various cosmological constants. It shows that the Maxwell field serves as a good probe to disclose the hair distribution described with the event horizon and the photonsphere. And we find that the Hod's lower bound obtained in asymptotically flat space also holds in the asymptotically dS Einstein-Born-Infeld hairy black holes. In contrast, the Hod's lower bound can be invaded in the asymptotically AdS Einstein-Born-Infeld hairy black holes. It implies that the AdS boundary could m…
We show that the asymptotically flat hairy black holes, solutions of the Einstein field equations minimally coupled to a scalar field, previously discovered by one of us, present mode instability against linear radial perturbations. It is also shown that the number of unstable modes is finite and their frequencies can be made arbitrarily small.
We extend here the result of Bekenstein [1,2] proving the non-existence of minimally coupled scalar black hole hair in general relativity to the Lanczos-Lovelock gravity in arbitrary dimension with non-negative coupling constants. The only physical requirement on the multiplet of minimally coupled scalar fields is that it fulfills the weak energy condition. We also assume, similarly to Bekenstein, spherical symmetry and asymptotic flatness.
In this paper we construct new hairy black holes of Lovelock-Born-Infeld-Scalar gravity in diverse dimensions. We study horizon structures of the black holes and find the black holes may possess three horizons, two horizons or one horizon. We give the thermodynamic quantities and check the first laws. We study the thermal phase transition behaviors of the black holes in $T$-$S$ plane, and find for even-dimensional black holes, in some ranges of the parameters Van der Waals-like phase transitions occur, in some ranges of the parameters, reentrant phase transitions (RPTs) appear. For odd-dimensi…
We investigate the holographic superconductors in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with Born-Infeld electrodynamics. We find that the Gauss-Bonnet constant, the model parameters and the Born-Infeld coupling parameter will affect the formation of the scalar hair, the transition point of the phase transition from the second order to the first order, and the relation connecting the gap frequency in conductivity with the critical temperature. The combination of the Gauss-Bonnet gravity and the Born-Infeld electrodynamics provides richer physics in the phase transition and the condensation of the scalar hair.
We construct a new class of asymptotically (a)dS black hole solutions of Einstein-Yang-Mills massive gravity in the presence of Born-Infeld nonlinear electrodynamics. The obtained solutions possess a Coulomb electric charge, massive term and a non-abelian hair as well. We calculate the conserved and thermodynamic quantities, and investigate the validity of the first law of thermodynamics. Also, we investigate thermal stability conditions by using the sign of heat capacity through canonical ensemble. Next, we consider the cosmological constant as a thermodynamical pressure and study the van der…
In this work we check the validity of the no scalar hair theorem in charged axisymmetric stationary black holes for a wide class of scalar tensor theories.
We present black hole solutions in $2+1-$dimensional Einstein's theory of gravity coupled with Born-Infeld nonlinear electrodynamic and a massless self-interacting scalar field. The model has five free parameters: mass $M$, cosmological constant $\ell $, electric $q$ and scalar $r_{0}$ charges and Born-Infeld parameter $β$. To attain exact solution for such a highly non-linear system we adjust, i.e. finely tune, the parameters of the theory with the integration constants. In the limit $β\rightarrow 0$ we recover the results of Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar theory, obtained before. The self interacti…
We investigate the possibility of dressing a four-dimensional black hole with classical scalar field hair which is non-minimally coupled to the space-time curvature. Our model includes a cosmological constant but no self-interaction potential for the scalar field. We are able to rule out black hole hair except when the cosmological constant is negative and the constant governing the coupling to the Ricci scalar curvature is positive. In this case, non-trivial hairy black hole solutions exist, at least some of which are linearly stable. However, when the coupling constant becomes too large, the…
Using Sturm-Liouville (SL) eigenvalue problem, we investigate several properties of holographic s-wave superconductors in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with Born-Infeld electrodynamics in the probe limit. Our analytic scheme has been found to be in good agreement with the numerical results. From our analysis it is quite evident that the scalar hair formation at low temperatures is indeed affected by both the Gauss-Bonnet as well as the Born-Infeld coupling parameters. We also compute the critical exponent associated with the condensation near the critical temperature. The value of the critical exponent…
In this work we study the asymptotically flat, static, and spherically symmetric black-hole solutions of the theory described by the action $$S = \int d^nx\sqrt{-g} \left\{\left(1-ξϕ^2 \right)R - g^{μν}\partial_μϕ\partial_νϕ\right\},$$ with $n>3$ and arbitrary $ξ$. We demonstrate the absence of scalar hairs for $ξ<0$. For $ξ>ξ_c=\frac{n-2}{4(n-1)}$, we show that there is no scalar hair obeying $|ϕ(r)| < 1/\sqrtξ$ or $|ϕ(r)| > 1/\sqrtξ$. For $0<ξ<ξ_c$, we prove the absence of scalar hairs such that $|ϕ(r)| < 1/\sqrtξ$ or $\frac{1}ξ < ϕ^2(r) < \frac{ξ_c}{ξ(ξ_c-ξ)}$.
General relativity admits a plethora of exact compact object solutions. The augmentation of Einstein's action with non-minimal coupling terms leads to modified theories with rich structure, which, in turn, provide non-trivial solutions with intriguing phenomenology. Thus, assessing their viability under generic fluctuations is of utmost importance for gravity theories. We consider static and spherically-symmetric solutions of a Horndeski subclass which includes a massless scalar field non-minimally coupled to the Einstein tensor. Such theory possesses second-order field equations and admits an…
In this paper, based on the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem, we analytically investigate several properties of holographic s-wave superconductors in the background of a Schwarzschild-AdS spacetime in the framework of Born-Infeld electrodynamics. Based on a perturbative approach, we explicitly find the relation between the critical temperature and the charge density and also the fact that the Born-Infeld coupling parameter indeed affects the formation of scalar hair at low temperatures. Higher value of the Born-Infeld parameter results in a harder condensation to form. We further compute the…
We analytically study the holographic superconductors for Born-Infeld electrodynamics in Gauss-Bonnet gravity with backreactions. We note that the analytic method is still powerful for this complex system and the results obtained by the analytical and numerical computations are consistent. We find that the critical temperature decreases with the increase of the backreactions, Gauss-Bonnet, and Born-Infeld parameters, which means that increase of the strength of these effects will make the scalar hair harder to form. Furthermore, the Gauss-Bonnet factor modifies the critical temperature more si…
We analyze condensation behaviors of neutral scalar fields outside horizonless reflecting stars in the Einstein-Maxwell-scalar gravity. It was known that minimally coupled neutral scalar fields cannot exist outside horizonless reflecting stars. In this work, we consider non-minimal couplings between scalar fields and Maxwell fields, which is included to aim to trigger formations of scalar hairs. We analytically demonstrate that there is no hair theorem for small coupling parameters below a bound. For large coupling parameters above the bound, we numerically obtain regular scalar hairy configur…
A new no-hair theorem is formulated which rules out a very large class of non-minimally coupled finite scalar dressing of an asymptotically flat, static, and spherically symmetric black-hole. The proof is very simple and based in a covariant method for generating solutions for non-minimally coupled scalar fields starting from the minimally coupled case. Such method generalizes the Bekenstein method for conformal coupling and other recent ones. We also discuss the role of the finiteness assumption for the scalar field.
We consider a gravitating system consisting of a scalar field minimally coupled to gravity with a self-interacting potential and a U(1) nonlinear electromagnetic field. Solving analytically and numerically the coupled system for both power-law and Born-Infeld type electrodynamics, we find charged hairy black hole solutions. Then, we study the thermodynamics of these solutions and we find that at a low temperature the topological charged black hole with scalar hair is thermodynamically preferred, whereas the topological charged black hole without scalar hair is thermodynamically preferred at a …
We consider Einstein gravity in general dimensions, coupled to a scalar field either minimally or non-minimally, together with a generic scalar potential. By making appropriate choices of the scalar potential, we obtain large classes of new scalar hairy black holes that are asymptotic to anti-de Sitter spacetimes in planar coordinates. For some classes of solutions, we can promote the scalar charge to be dependent on the advanced or retarded times in the Eddington-Finkelstein coordinates, and obtain exact dynamic solutions. In particular, one class of the collapse solutions describe the evolut…
We study standard Einstein-Maxwell theory minimally coupled to a complex valued and self-interacting scalar field. We demonstrate that new, previously unnoticed spherically symmetric, charged black hole solutions with scalar hair exist in this model for sufficiently large gravitational coupling and sufficiently small electromagnetic coupling. The novel scalar hair has the form of a spatially oscillating ''wave packet'' and back-reacts on the space-time such that both the Ricci and the Kretschmann scalar, respectively, possess qualitatively similar oscillations.
We consider a generic scalar-tensor theory involving a shift-symmetric scalar field and minimally coupled matter fields. We prove that the Noether current associated with shift-symmetry vanishes in regular, spherically symmetric and static spacetimes. We use this fact to prove the absence of scalar hair for spherically symmetric and static stars in Horndeski and beyond theories. We carefully detail the validity of this no-hair theorem.
We obtain spinning boson star solutions and hairy black holes with synchronised hair in the Einstein-Klein-Gordon model, wherein the scalar field is massive, complex and with a non-minimal coupling to the Ricci scalar. The existence of these hairy black holes in this model provides yet another manifestation of the universality of the synchronisation mechanism to endow spinning black holes with hair. We study the variation of the physical properties of the boson stars and hairy black holes with the coupling parameter between the scalar field and the curvature, showing that they are, qualitative…
We show that the nonlinear $σ-$model in an asymptotically $AdS_3$ space-time admits a novel local symmetry. The field action is assumed to be quartic in the nonlinear $σ-$model fields and minimally coupled to gravity. The local symmetry transformation simultaneously twists the nonlinear $σ-$model fields and changes the space-time metric, and it can be used to map an extremal $BTZ$ black hole to infinitely many hairy black hole solutions.
In this paper we consider two different nonlinear $σ$-models minimally coupled to Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld gravity. We show that the resultant geometries represent minimal modifications with respect to those found in GR, though with important physical consequences. In particular, wormhole structures always arise, though this does not guarantee by itself the geodesic completeness of those space-times. In one of the models, quadratic in the canonical kinetic term, we identify a subset of solutions which are regular everywhere and are geodesically complete. We discuss characteristic feature…
We present a new family of asymptotically AdS four-dimensional black hole solutions with scalar hair of a gravitating system consisting of a scalar field minimally coupled to gravity with a self-interacting potential. For a certain profile of the scalar field we solve the Einstein equations and we determine the scalar potential. Thermodynamically we show that there is a critical temperature below which there is a phase transition of a black hole with hyperbolic horizon to the new hairy black hole configuration.
We prove a no Cauchy horizon theorem for general nonlinear electrodynamics black holes with charged scalar hairs. By constructing a radially conserved charged, we show that there is no inner Cauchy horizon for both spherical and planar symmetric cases, independent of the form of scalar potential and nonlinear electrodynamics. After imposing the null energy condition, we are also able to rule out the existence of the Cauchy horizon for the hyperbolic black holes. We take the Born-Infeld black hole as a concrete example to study the interior dynamics beyond the event horizon. When the contributi…
This is a brief summary of the most important hairy black hole solutions in 3+1 spacetime dimensions discovered over the last 25 years. These were first of all the Einstein-Yang-Mills black holes and their various generalizations including the Higgs field, the dilaton and the curvature corrections, and also the Skyrme black holes. More recently, these were black holes supporting a scalar field violating the energy conditions or non-minimally coupled to gravity, and also spinning black holes with massive complex scalar hair. Finally, these were black holes with massive graviton hair.
We propose a general method for solving exactly the static field equations of Einstein and Einstein-Maxwell gravity minimally coupled to a scalar field. Our method starts from an ansatz for the scalar field profile, and determines, together with the metric functions, the corresponding form of the scalar self-interaction potential. Using this method we prove a new no-hair theorem about the existence of hairy black-hole and black-brane solutions and derive broad classes of static solutions with radial symmetry of the theory, which may play an important role in applications of the AdS/CFT corresp…
The asymptotically flat, spherical, electro-vacuum black holes (BHs) are shown to support static, spherical configurations of a gauged, self-interacting, scalar field, minimally coupled to the geometry. Considering a $Q$-ball type potential for the scalar field, we dub these configurations $Q$-clouds, in the test field approximation. The clouds exist under a resonance condition, at the threshold of (charged) superradiance. This is similar to the stationary clouds supported by Kerr BHs, which exist for a synchronisation condition, at the threshold of (rotational) superradiance. In contrast with…
We present a method to analyse black hole hair in the spherical symmetric sector of the Lovelock theory in arbitrary dimensions that is an alternative to solving the equations of motion in their complete form. We explicitly show that the method matches with the known black hole solutions for the vacuum and electro-vacuum spacetimes in Lovelock gravity theories. We further apply the method to the case of minimally coupled non-self-interacting massless scalar field and prove that there is no (non-self-interacting) massless scalar hair for the spherically symmetric Lovelock black holes.
In this work we study the dynamics of gravitational collapse of a homogeneous dust sphere in a model exhibiting a linear non-minimal coupling between matter and curvature. The evolution of the scale factor and the matter density is obtained for different choices of Lagrangean density of matter, highlighting the direct physical relevance of the latter in this theory. Following a discussion of the junction conditions and boundary terms in the action functional, the matching with the outer metric and event horizon is analyzed. We find that a distinct phenomenology arises when compared with standa…
It has been shown recently that extreme Reissner-Nordström black holes perturbed by a minimally coupled, free, massless scalar field have permanent scalar hair. The hair - a conserved charge calculated at the black hole's event horizon - can be measured by a certain expression at future null infinity: the latter approaches the hair inversely in time. We generalize this newly discovered hair also for extreme Kerr black holes. We study the behavior of nearly extreme black hole hair and its measurement at future null infinity as a transient phenomenon. For nearly extreme black holes the measureme…
In the brane-world framework, we consider static, spherically symmetric configurations of a scalar field with the Lagrangian $(\dϕ)^2/2 - V(ϕ)$, confined on the brane. We use the 4D Einstein equations on the brane obtained by Shiromizu et al., containing the usual stress tensor $T\mN$, the tensor $Π\mN$, quadratic in $T\mN$, and $E\mN$ describing interaction with the bulk. For models under study, the tensor $Π\mN$ has zero divergence, so we can consider a "minimally coupled" brane with $E\mN = 0$, whose 4D gravity is decoupled from the bulk geometry. Assuming $E\mN =0$, we try to extend to bra…
The field equations associated with the Born-Infeld-Einstein action including matter are derived using a Palatini variational principle. Scalar, electromagnetic, and Dirac fields are considered. It is shown that an action can be chosen for the scalar field that produces field equations identical to the usual Einstein field equations minimally coupled to a scalar field. In the electromagnetic and Dirac cases the field equations reproduce the standard equations only to lowest order. The spherically symmetric electrovac equations are studied in detail. It is shown that the resulting Einstein equa…
We derive a Melvin Universe type solution describing a magnetic field permeating the whole Universe in gravity minimally coupled to any non-linear electromagnetic theory, including Born-Infeld Theory. For a large set of non-linear electrodynamics theories, our solution is complete and non-singular, as long as the magnetic field is sub-critical. We examine some properties of the solution; in particular there is a shift of the symmetry axis and a non-standard period along the orbits of the U(1) symmetry to avoid a conical singularity. We show these are consistent with the usual Dirac quantizatio…
We show that, unlike vacuum General Relativity, Einstein-scalar theories allow balanced static, neutral, asymptotically flat, double-black hole solutions, for scalar field models minimally coupled to gravity, with appropriate self-interactions. These are scalar hairy versions of the double-Schwarzschild (or Bach-Weyl) solution, but regular on and outside the two (topologically spherical) horizons. The balancing repulsive force is provided by the scalar field. An explicit illustration is presented, using a Weyl-type construction adapted to numerical solutions, requiring no partial linearisation…
We consider scalar-tensor gravity with nonminimal derivative coupling and Born-Infeld electromagnetic field which is minimally coupled to gravity. Since cosmological constant is taken into account it allowed us not only derive static black hole with spherical horizon but also to obtain topological solutions with non-spherical horizons. The obtained metrics are thoroughly analyzed, namely for different distances and types of topology of horizon. To investigate singularities of the metrics Kretschmann scalar is used and it is shown that the character of singularity depends on the type of topolog…
In this paper, we are interested in a model of exact asymptotically flat charged hairy black holes in the background of dilaton potential. We study the weak gravitational lensing in the spacetime of hairy black hole in Einstein-Maxwell theory with a non-minimally coupled dilaton and its non-trivial potential. In doing so, we use the optical geometry of the flat charged hairy black hole for some range of parameter $γ$. For this purpose, by using Gauss-Bonnet theorem, we obtain the deflection angle of photon in a spherically symmetric and asymptotically flat spacetime. Moreover, we also investig…
We study the Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg theory in the presence of a self interacting scalar field, minimally coupled to gravity. We solve analytically the field equations for the magnetically charged case and we obtain novel magnetically charged hairy black holes. The scalar field dresses the black hole with a secondary scalar hair. The hairy black hole develops three horizons when Euler-Heisenberg parameter and the magnetic charge are small and the horizon radius is getting large when the scalar charge and the gravitational mass are large. The presence of matter and the magnetic field outside …
A mechanism for circumventing the Mayo-Bekenstein no-hair theorem allows endowing four dimensional $(D=4)$ asymptotically flat, spherical, electro-vacuum black holes with a minimally coupled $U(1)$-gauged scalar field profile: $Q$-$hair$. The scalar field must be massive, self-interacting and obey a {\it resonance condition} at the threshold of (charged) superradiance. We establish generality for this mechanism by endowing three different types of static black objects with scalar hair, within a $D=5$ Einstein-Maxwell-gauged scalar field model: asymptotically flat black holes and black rings; a…
It is shown that the conclusion regarding the existence of a scalar hair for a black hole in a nonminimally coupled self interacting scalar tensor theory can be drawn from the that for a scalar field minimally coupled to gravity by means of a conformal transformation.
We study a Born-Infeld inspired model of gravity and electromagnetism in which both types of fields are treated on an equal footing via a determinantal approach in a metric-affine formulation. Though this formulation is a priori in conflict with the postulates of metric theories of gravity, we find that the resulting equations can also be obtained from an action combining the Einstein-Hilbert action with a minimally coupled nonlinear electrodynamics. As an example, the dynamics is solved for the charged static black hole.
We study a new family of self-gravitating axially-symmetric, rotating boson stars in the two-component Friedberg-Lee-Sirlin model minimally coupled to Einstein gravity in four spacetime dimensions. In the flat space limit the boson stars tend to the corresponding Q-balls. Subject to the usual synchronization condition, the model admits spinning hairy black hole solutions with two different types of scalar hair. We here investigate parity-even and parity-odd boson stars and their associated hairy black holes. We explore the domain of existence of the solutions and address some of their physical…
We study scalarization of spherically symmetric neutral reflecting shells in the scalar-tensor gravity. We consider neutral static massless scalar fields non-minimally coupled to the Gauss-Bonnet invariant. We obtain a relation representing the existence regime of hairy neutral reflecting shells. For parameters unsatisfying this relation, the massless scalar field cannot exist outside the neutral reflecting shell. In the parameter region where this relation holds, we get analytical solutions of scalar field hairs outside neutral reflecting shells.
Most no-hair theorems involve the assumption that the scalar field is independent of time. Recently in [Phys. Rev. D90 (2014) 041501(R)] the existence of time-dependent scalar hair outside a stationary black hole in general relativity was ruled out. We generalize this work to modified gravities and non-minimally coupled scalar field with an additional assumption that the spacetime is axisymmetric. It is shown that in higher-order gravity such as metric $f(R)$ gravity the time-dependent scalar hair doesn't exist. While in Palatini $f(R)$ gravity and non-minimally coupled case the time-dependent…
Introducing a new form of scalar potential $V(ϕ)$, we derive a proper form of the rotating black hole solution in three-dimensional Einstein gravity with nonminimally coupled scalar field and find that the first law of thermodynamics of this new rotating hairy black hole can be protected, where the scalar field parameter $B$ is constrained to relate to the black hole size. We also disclose the Hawking-Page phase transition between this rotating hairy black holes and the pure thermal radiation. Moreover, we study phase transitions between this rotating hairy black hole and rotating BTZ black ho…
In this paper, we study a non-canonical extension of a supergravity-motivated model acting as a vivid counterexample to the cosmic no-hair conjecture due to its unusual coupling between scalar and electromagnetic fields. In particular, a canonical scalar field is replaced by the string-inspired Dirac-Born-Infeld one in this extension. As a result, exact anisotropic inflationary solutions for this Dirac-Born-Infeld model are figured out under a constant-roll condition. Furthermore, numerical calculations are performed to verify that these anisotropic constant-roll solutions are indeed attractiv…
We explore General Relativity solutions with stealth scalar hair in general quadratic higher-order scalar-tensor theories. Adopting the assumption that the scalar field has a constant kinetic term, we derive in a fully covariant manner a set of conditions under which the Euler-Lagrange equations allow General Relativity solutions as exact solutions in the presence of a general matter component minimally coupled to gravity. The scalar field possesses a nontrivial profile, which can be obtained by integrating the condition of constant kinetic term for each metric solution. We demonstrate the con…
This proceeding reviews the recent finding of a certain class of, regular on and outside the horizon, exact hairy black hole solutions in four dimensional general relativity. Their construction follow from the integrability of a cohomogeneity two Weyl rescaling of the Carter-Debever ansatz in the presence of an arbitrary number of scalar fields with an arbitrary self interaction and an arbitrary non-minimal coupling to the scalar curvature. Two field equations, independent of the specific form of the energy momentum tensor, are used to integrate the metric. The remaining ones fix the form of t…
It has recently been proved that horizonless compact stars with reflecting boundary conditions {\it cannot} support spatially regular matter configurations made of minimally coupled scalar fields, vector fields, and tensor fields. In the present paper we extend this intriguing no-hair property to the physically interesting regime of scalar fields with {\it nonminimal} coupling to gravity. In particular, we prove that static spherically symmetric configurations made of nonminimally coupled massless scalar fields cannot be supported by compact reflecting stars.
A rotating hairy black hole solution is found in gravity minimally coupled to a self-interacting real scalar field in three spacetime dimensions. Then we discuss analytically the horizon structure and find an analogue of the famous Kerr bound in (2+1) dimensions because of the existence of black hole horizons. We present the asymptotic symmetries and find the same symmetry group (i.e. the conformal group) and central charge as in pure gravity. Based on the asymptotic behavior, the mass and angular momentum are presented by the Regge-Teitelboim approach. Other thermodynamic quantities are also …
We present a spinning hairy black hole in gravity minimally coupled to a self-interacting real scalar field in three spacetime dimensions. The black hole is characterized by having a single horizon which encloses a curvature singularity and the scalar field is regular everywhere. The mass and angular momentum are shown to be finite. The presence of a scalar field with a slower fall-off at infinity leads an anti-de Sitter asymptotic behavior which differs from the one found by Brown and Henneaux, but has the same symmetry group as in pure gravity. A scalar soliton, which is a finite mass regula…
