We review heavy quark flavor and spin symmetries, their exploitation in heavy meson effective theories and the flavored couplings of charmed and light mesons in the definition of their effective Lagrangians. We point out how nonperturbative continuum QCD approaches based on Dyson-Schwinger and Bethe-Salpeter equations can be used to calculate strong and leptonic decays of open-charm mesons and heavy quarkonia. The strong decay $D^*\to Dπ$ serves as a benchmark, as it is the only physical open-charm observable that can be related to the effective Lagrangian's couplings. Nonetheless, a quantitative comparison of $D^*Dπ$, $ρDD$, $ρD^*D$ and $ρD^* D^*$ couplings for a range of off-shell momenta of the $ρ$-meson invalidates SU(4)$_F$ symmetry relations between these couplings. Thus, besides the breaking of flavor symmetry by mass terms in the Lagrangians, the flavor-symmetry breaching in couplings and their dependence on the $ρ$-meson virtuality cannot be ignored. We also take the opportunity to present new results for the effective $J/ψDD$ and $J/ψD^*D$ couplings. We conclude this contribution with a discussion on how the description of pseudoscalar and vector $D$, $D_s$, $B$ and $B_s$ meson properties can be drastically improved with a modest modification of the flavor-dependence in the Bethe-Salpeter equation.
The current status of flavored dark matter is reviewed. We discuss the main experimental constraints on models of flavored dark matter and survey some possible considerations which are relevant for the constructions of models. We then review the application of existing flavor principles to dark matter, with an emphasis on minimal flavor violation, and discuss implications of flavored dark matter on collider phenomenology.
We study an extended Standard Model with a gauged U(1)$^{\prime}$ flavor symmetry, motivated not only by the fermion mass hierarchy but also by the excesses in $B \to K^{(*)} l l$ reported by the LHCb collaborations. The U(1)$^{\prime}$ charges are assigned to quarks and leptons in a flavor-dependent manner, and flavored Higgs doublets are also introduced in order to detail the Yukawa couplings at the renormalizable level. Then, the fermion mass hierarchy is realized by the vacuum alignment of the Higgs doublets. In this model, flavor-changing currents involving the gauge boson of U(1)$^{\prim…
We get the distributions of shower partons initiated by heavy quarks $c$ and $b$ by studying the fragmentation functions in the framework of the recombination model. The transverse momentum spectra of heavy flavored mesons are predicted with these distributions. We find that the contribution from the recombination of thermal-shower partons is an important part in the total spectrum for the mesons. We predict the heavy flavored meson productions for different centralities with the heavy quark fugacities fitted by the experimental data of $J/ψ$ transverse momentum spectra in Au+Au collisions.
We explore the possibility of very heavy dibaryons with three charm quarks and three beauty quarks, $bbbccc$, using a constituent model which should drive to the correct solution in the limit of hadrons made of heavy quarks. The six-body problem is treated rigorously, in particular taking into account the orbital, color and spin mixed-symmetry components of the wave function. Unlike a recent claim based on lattice QCD, no bound state is found below the lowest dissociation threshold.
We present results of the first lattice QCD calculation of three-flavored heavy dibaryons both in the flavor-symmetric and antisymmetric channels. These dibaryons have spin zero, and are constructed using various possible combinations of quark flavors with at least one of them as the charm or the bottom quark, i.e., namely, $H_c(cudcud), H_b(budbud), H_{bcs}(bcsbcs)$, $H_{csl}(cslcsl), H_{bsl}(bslbsl)$ and $H_{bcl}(bclbcl)$; $l\in u,d$. We compute the ground state masses of these dibaryons and the calculations are performed on three $N_f=2+1+1$ HISQ gauge ensembles of the MILC collaboration, w…
We study ground and radial excitations of flavor singlet and flavored pseudoscalar mesons within the framework of the rainbow-ladder truncation using an infrared massive and finite interaction in agreement with recent results for the gluon-dressing function from lattice QCD and Dyson-Schwinger equations. Whereas the ground-state masses and decay constants of the light mesons as well as charmonia are well described, we confirm previous observations that this truncation is inadequate to provide realistic predictions for the spectrum of excited and exotic states. Moreover, we find a complex conju…
The yields of heavy flavored hadrons emitted from strangeness-rich QGP are evaluated within chemical non-equilibrium statistical hadronization model, conserving strangeness, charm, and entropy yields at hadronization.
In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction, we systematically investigate the mass spectrum of the tetraquark states composed of four heavy quarks with the $QQ\bar Q\bar Q$ configuration in this work. We also show their strong decay patterns. Stable or narrow states in the $bb\bar{b}\bar{c}$ and $bc\bar{b}\bar{c}$ systems are found to be possible. We hope the studies shall be helpful to the experimental search for heavy-full exotic tetraquark states.
We consider the top forward-backward (FB) asymmetry at the Tevatron and top charge asymmetry at the LHC within chiral U(1)^\prime models with flavor-dependent U(1)^\prime charges and flavored Higgs fields, which were introduced in the ref. [65]. The models could enhance not only the top forward-backward asymmetry at Tevatron, but also the top charge asymmetry at LHC, without too large same-sign top pair production rates. We identify parameter spaces for the U(1)^\prime gauge boson and (pseudo)scalar Higgs bosons where all the experimental data could be accommodated, including the case with abo…
In this paper, we suggest a simple model which induces realistic flavor structure from mixing of flavored Higgs doublets. The idea is based on the decoupling limit. In a model with many Higgs doublets, the mass eigenstates of scalars are linear combinations of Higgs doublets. If the mass matrix of Higgs fields has only one massless mode, and if the linear combination has flavor dependence, the induced Yukawa coupling will have nontrivial flavor structure. We suggest a mass matrix of flavored Higgs fields in a $U(2)_{L} \times U(2)_{R}$ toy model. An advantage of this model is that all of the e…
The observed strong suppression of heavy flavored hadrons produced with high $p_T$, is caused by final state interactions with the created dense medium. Vacuum radiation of high-pT heavy quarks ceases at a short time scale, as is confirmed by pQCD calculations and by LEP measurements of the fragmentation functions of heavy quarks. Production of a heavy flavored hadrons in a dense medium is considerably delayed due to prompt breakup of the hadrons by the medium. This causes a strong suppression of the heavy quark yield because of the specific shape of the fragmentation function. The parameter-f…
We summarize recent progress in the theoretical description of heavy-flavored-hadron inclusive production at next-to-leading order in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme. Specifically, we discuss the influence of finite-mass effects on the determination D-meson fragmentation functions from a global fit to e^+e^- annihilation data and on the transverse-momentum distribution of B-meson hadroproduction. We also demonstrate that the fixed-flavor-number scheme, implemented with up-to-date parton density functions and strong-coupling constant, provides a surprisingly good description of B…
Minimal Flavor Violation offers an alternative symmetry rationale to R-parity conservation for the suppression of proton decay in supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. The naturalness of such theories is generically under less tension from LHC searches than R-parity conserving models. The flavor symmetry can also guarantee the stability of dark matter if it carries flavor quantum numbers. We outline general features of supersymmetric flavored dark matter (SFDM) models within the framework of MFV SUSY. A simple model of top flavored dark matter is presented. If the dark matter is a t…
In the standard model (SM), lepton flavor violating (LFV) Higgs decay is absent at renormalizable level and thus it is a good probe to new physics. In this article we study a type of new physics that could lead to large LFV Higgs decay, i.e., a lepton-flavored dark matter (DM) model which is specified by a Majorana DM and scalar lepton mediators. Different from other similar models with similar setup, we introduce both left-handed and right-handed scalar leptons. They allow large LFV Higgs decay and thus may explain the tentative Br$(h\raτμ)\sim1\%$ experimental results from the LHC. In partic…
We present benchmark points for LHC searches from flavored gauge mediation models, in which messenger-matter couplings give flavor-dependent squark masses. Our examples include spectra in which a single squark - stop, scharm, or sup - is much lighter than all other colored superpartners, motivating improved quark flavor tagging at the LHC. Many examples feature flavor mixing; in particular, large stop-scharm mixing is possible. The correct Higgs mass is obtained in some examples by virtue of the large stop A-term. We also revisit the general flavor and CP structure of the models. Even though t…
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model squark mixing can significantly change the pattern of charged-Higgs production. We find that non-minimal flavor structures can have a sizeable impact on the charged-Higgs production cross section, whereas charged-Higgs searches may be able to probe flavor structures not accessible to rare kaon, bottom or charm experiments, and can invalidate the assumption of minimal flavor violation.
We study the squark spectra of Flavored Gauge Mediation Models, in which messenger-matter superpotential couplings generate new, generation-dependent contributions to the squark masses. The new couplings are controlled by the same flavor symmetry that explains the fermion masses, leading to excellent alignment of the quark and squark mass matrices. This allows for large squark mass splittings consistent with all flavor bounds. In particular, second-generation squarks are often significantly lighter than the first-generation squarks. As squark production at the LHC is dominated by the up- and d…
The transition magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of the radiative decays of the sextet heavy flavored spin 3/2 to the heavy spin 1/2 baryons are calculated within the light cone QCD sum rules approach. Using the obtained results, the decay rate for these transitions are also computed and compared with the existing predictions of the other approaches.
In this work, we study the thermodynamic behavior of heavy-flavored meson matter in the framework of $(σ,ω)$-meson-exchange model in relativistic mean field theory. We find a decreasing of the effective masses of $D$ and $B$ mesons as the temperature increases. By using the effective mass and maximum value of dissociation temperatures available from lattice QCD, the masses of the bound states $D \bar{D}$ and $B \bar{B}$ are estimated in 2 MeV for both molecules. For the $B$-meson matter, the pressure presents an exotic behavior, being negative for temperatures above 6.6 times the deconfinement…
We study constraints from LHC run I on squark and gluino masses in the presence of squark flavor violation. Inspired by the concept of `flavored naturalness', we focus on the impact of a non-zero stop-scharm mixing and mass splitting in the right-handed sector. To this end, we recast four searches of the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, dedicated either to third generation squarks, to gluino and squarks of the first two generations, or to charm-squarks. In the absence of extra structure, the mass of the gluino provides an additional source of fine tuning and is therefore important to consider wit…
We propose a simple model where dark matter (DM) carries top flavor and couples to the Standard Model through the top quark within a framework of minimal flavor violation (MFV). Top-flavored DM can explain the anomalous top forward-backward asymmetry observed at the Tevatron, while remaining consistent with other top observables at colliders. By virtue of its large coupling to top, DM acquires a sizable loop coupling to the Z boson, and the relic density is set by annihilation through the Z. We also discuss contraints from current direct detection searches, emphasizing the role of spin-depende…
We investigate the $s$-wave three-body system of two neutrons and one flavored meson with total spin-isospin $J=0,I=3/2$. The meson-neutron scattering length can become infinitely large in an unphysical region of the quark mass when extrapolated from strangeness to charm in the so-called zero coupling limit. Using a low-energy cluster effective field theory, we demonstrate that the Efimov effect is manifest in the three-body system when the meson-neutron scattering length is extrapolated to the unitary limit of the two-body interaction. We thereby discuss the consequence of universal physics i…
We present U(1) flavor models for leptophobic Z' with flavor dependent couplings to the right-handed up-type quarks in the Standard Model, which can accommodate the recent data on the top forward-backward (FB) asymmetry and the dijet resonance associated with a W boson reported by CDF Collaboration. Such flavor-dependent leptophobic charge assignments generally require extra chiral fermions for anomaly cancellation. Also the chiral nature of U(1)' flavor symmetry calls for new U(1)'-charged Higgs doublets in order for the SM fermions to have realistic renormalizable Yukawa couplings. The strin…
Precision flavor experiments can look for the QCD axion complementarily to usual searches with axion helio- and haloscopes, allowing to test PQ breaking scales as high as $10^{12} \, {\rm GeV}$. Such searches are sensitive to flavor-violating axion couplings, which are generic and potentially sizable whenever SM fermions carry flavor non-universal PQ charges. A particularly predictive scenario is obtained when PQ is identified with the simplest FN flavor symmetry, so that all flavor-violating axion couplings are related to Yukawa hierarchies, up to ${\cal O}(1)$ coefficients.
We study the scaled-energy (x_B) distribution of bottom-flavored hadrons (B) inclusively produced in top-quark decays at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme endowed with realistic, nonperturbative fragmentation functions that are obtained through a global fit to e^+e^- data from CERN LEP1 and SLAC SLC exploiting their universality and scaling violations. Specifically, we study the effects of gluon fragmentation and finite bottom-quark and B-hadron masses. We find the NLO corrections to be significant. Gluon fragmentation leads to an appreciable reducti…
Dark, chiral fermions carrying lepton flavor quantum numbers are natural candidates for freeze-in. Small couplings with the Standard Model fermions of the order of lepton Yukawas are `automatic' in the limit of Minimal Flavor Violation. In the absence of total lepton number violating interactions, particles with certain representations under the flavor group remain absolutely stable. For masses in the GeV-TeV range, the simplest model with three flavors, leads to signals at future direct detection experiments like DARWIN. Interestingly, freeze-in with a smaller flavor group such as $SU(2)$ is …
We consider a class of flavored dark matter (DM) theories where dark matter interacts with the Standard Model lepton fields at the renormalizable level. We allow for a general coupling matrix between the dark matter and leptons whose structure is beyond the one permitted by the minimal flavor violation (MFV) assumption. It is assumed that this is the only new source of flavor violation in addition to the Standard Model (SM) Yukawa interactions. The setup can be described by augmenting the SM flavor symmetry by an additional $\mathrm{SU}(3)_χ$, under which the dark matter $χ$ transforms. This f…
We investigate flavored gauge mediation models in which the Higgs and messenger doublets are embedded in multiplets of the discrete non-Abelian symmetry S3. In these theories, the S3 symmetry correlates the flavor structure of the quark and lepton Yukawa couplings with the structure of the messenger Yukawa couplings that contribute to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass parameters. We provide a systematic exploration of possible scenarios within this framework that can accommodate hierarchical quark and charged lepton masses, and examine the resulting phenomenological implications in each cas…
We analyze strong one-pion and radiative one-photon decays of heavy flavored baryons within a relativistic three-quark model. Employing the same parameters as were used for the description of the semileptonic decays of heavy baryons, we calculate the couplings of one-pion and one-photon transitions of both ground and excited heavy baryon states. We predict the decay rates for all relevant decay modes and compare them with experimental data when available and with the results of other model calculations.
We report the results for charge radii of heavy flavored mesons ($D^+, D^0, D^+_s, B^+, B^0, B^0_s$) in an improved QCD potential model. To enhance the effectiveness of short range and long range effect of the potential $V(r)=-4\frac{α_s}{3r}+br+c$ in the perturbative procedure a cut-off parameter $r^P$ is introduced as an integration limit. The obtained results are found to be comparable with other available data. The limitation of the approach is discussed in the manuscript.
We study a renormalizable scalar singlet dark matter model based on $Z_4$ lepton flavor symmetry. A $μτ$-philic scalar doublet is introduced to explain the discrepancy between the experimental value and the theoretical prediction of the muon anomalous magnetic moment. At the same time, these flavored scalars play the role of a mediator which connects dark matter and standard model particles. The observed relic abundance of the dark matter is easily maintained while satisfying the current severe constraints on the dark matter from various experiments and observations thanks to the flavor off-di…
We examine the potential to probe generalized neutrino interactions (GNI), exotic effective couplings due to new physics interactions beyond the Standard Model, in the coherent-elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering experiments in light of the latest COHERENT-CsI, and -LAr data. Our analysis focuses on scalar, vector and tensor flavored-GNI parameters. A combined analysis has been made to constrain these exotic couplings for the CsI and LAr detector. We further add the projected forthcoming reactor-based Scintillating Bubble Chamber detector to examine these couplings. It has been observed that t…
We consider the possibility that dark matter can communicate with the Standard Model fields via flavor interactions. We take the dark matter to belong to a "dark sector" which contains at least two types, or "flavors", of particles and then hypothesize that the Standard Model fields and dark matter share a common interaction which depends on flavor. As, generically, interaction eigenstates and mass eigenstates need not coincide, we consider both flavor-changing and flavor-conserving interactions. These interactions are then constrained by meson decays, kaon mixing, and current collider bounds,…
We explore lepton-flavored electroweak baryogenesis, driven by CP-violation in leptonic Yukawa sector, using the $τ-μ$ system in the two Higgs doublet model as an example. This setup generically yields, together with the flavor-changing decay $h\to τμ$, a tree-level Jarlskog-invariant that can drive dynamical generation of baryon asymmetry during a first-order electroweak phase transition and results in CP-violating effect in the decay $h\to ττ$. We find that the observed baryon asymmetry can be generated in parameter space compatible with current experimental results for the decays $h\to τμ$,…
We study the experimental signatures of top flavored dark matter (top FDM) in direct detection searches and at the LHC. We show that for a dark matter mass above 200 GeV, top FDM can be consistent with current bounds from direct detection experiments and relic abundance constraints. We also show that next generation direct detection experiments will be able to exclude the entire perturbative parameter region for top FDM. For regions of parameter space where the flavor partners of top FDM are not readily produced, the LHC signatures of top FDM are similar to those of other models previously stu…
We consider the effective field theory generated by a heavy mediator that connects Standard Model particles to a Dark Sector, considering explicitly the flavor structure of the operators. In particular, we study the model independent running and mixing between operators, as well as their matching at the electroweak scale. In addition to the explicit expression of the Renormalization Group Equations, we show the numerical solutions as well as some approximate analytical expressions that help understanding these solutions. At low energy, our results are particularly important in the case of ligh…
We propose the inclusive semi-hard production, in proton-proton collisions, of two bottom-flavored hadrons, as well as of a single bottom-flavored hadron accompanied by a light jet, as novel channels for the manifestation of stabilization effects of the high-energy resummation under next-to-leading-order corrections. Our formalism relies on a hybrid high-energy and collinear factorization, where the BFKL resummation of leading and next-to-leading energy logarithms is used together with collinear factorization. We present results for cross sections and azimuthal correlations differential in rap…
We discuss the chiral phase diagram in the parameter space of lattice QCD with minimal-doubling fermions, which can be seen as lattice fermions with flavored chemical potential terms. We study strong-coupling lattice QCD with the Karsten-Wilczek formulation, which has one relevant parameter $μ_{3}$ as well as gauge coupling and a mass parameter. We find a nontrivial chiral phase structure with a second-order phase transition between chiral symmetric and broken phases. To capture the whole structure of the phase diagram, we study the related lattice Gross-Neveu model. The result indicates that …
The hierarchy of fermion masses in the standard model may arise via the breaking of discrete gauge symmetries. The renormalizable interactions of the flavor-symmetry-breaking potential can have accidental global symmetries that are spontaneously broken, leading to pseudo-goldstone bosons that may drive inflation. We consider two-field, axion-monodromy inflation models in which the inflaton is identified with a linear combination of pseudo-goldstone bosons of the flavor sector. We show that the resulting models are nontrivially constrained by current cosmological data as well as the requirement…
We study the anatomy and phenomenology of Lepton Flavor Violation (LFV) in the context of Flavored Gauge Mediation (FGM). Within FGM, the messenger sector couples directly to the MSSM matter fields with couplings controlled by the same dynamics that explains the hierarchies in the SM Yukawas. Although the pattern of flavor violation depends on the particular underlying flavor model, FGM provides a built-in flavor suppression similar to wave function renormalization or SUSY Partial Compositeness. Moreover, in contrast to these models, there is an additional suppression of left-right (LR) flavor…
We would comment on the results of the paper "a unified scheme for flavored mesons and baryons" (P.C.Vinodkumar, J.N.Panandya, V.M.Bannur, and S.B.Khadkikar Eur. Phys. J. A4(1999)83), and point out some inconsistencies and mistakes in the work for solving the Dirac equation. In terms of an example for a single particle we investigate the reliability of the perturbative method for computing the Coulomb energy and discuss the contribution to the wavefunction at origin from the Coulomb potential. We conclude that the accuracy of their numerical results needs to be reconsidered.
A Peccei-Quinn~(PQ) symmetry is proposed in order to generate in the Standard Model~(SM) quark sector a realistic mass matrix ansatz with five texture-zeros. Limiting our analysis to Hermitian mass matrices, we show that this requires a minimum of 4 Higgs doublets. This model allows assigning values close to 1 for several Yukawa couplings, giving insight into the origin of the mass scales in the SM. Since the PQ charges are non-universal, the model features Flavor-Changing Neutral Currents~(FCNC) at the tree level. From the analytical expressions for the FCNC we report the allowed region in th…
We study the interplay of flavor and dark matter phenomenology for models of flavored dark matter interacting with quarks. We allow an arbitrary flavor structure in the coupling of dark matter with quarks. This coupling is assumed to be the only new source of violation of the Standard Model flavor symmetry extended by a $U(3)_χ$ associated with the dark matter. We call this ansatz Dark Minimal Flavor Violation (DMFV) and highlight its various implications, including an unbroken discrete symmetry that can stabilize the dark matter. As an illustration we study a Dirac fermionic dark matter $χ$ w…
A generalized CP symmetry for leptons is presented where CP transformations are part of an $S_4$ symmetry that connects different families. We study its implications for lepton mixings in a gauge model realization of the idea using type II seesaw for neutrino masses. The model predicts maximal atmospheric mixing, nonzero $θ_{13}$ and maximal Dirac phase $δ_{D}= \pmπ/2$.
We propose UV-completions of Froggatt-Nielsen-Peccei-Quinn models of fermion masses and mixings with flavored axions, by incorporating heavy fields. Here, the $U(1)$ Froggatt-Nielsen symmetry is identified with the Peccei-Quinn symmetry to solve the strong CP problem along with the mass hierarchies of the Standard Model fermions. We take into account leading order contributions to the fermion mass matrices giving rise to Nearest-Neighbour-Interaction structure in the quark sector and $A_2$ texture in the neutrino sector. A comprehensive numerical analysis has been performed for the fermion mas…
We discuss gauge models incorporating $μ-τ$ flavored CP symmetry (called CP$^{μτ}$ in the text) in combination with $L_μ-L_τ$ invariance to understand neutrino mixings and discuss their phenomenological implications. We show that viable leptogenesis in this setting requires that the lightest right-handed neutrino mass must be between $10^9-10^{12}$ GeV and for effective two hierarchical right-handed neutrinos, leptogenesis takes place only in a narrower range of $5\times 10^{10}-10^{12}$ GeV. A multi-Higgs realization of this idea implies that there must be a pseudoscalar Higgs boson with mass…
It is an intriguing possibility that dark matter (DM) could have flavor quantum numbers like the quarks. We propose and investigate a class of UV-complete models of this kind, in which the dark matter is in a scalar triplet of an SU(3) flavor symmetry, and interacts with quarks via a colored flavor-singlet fermionic mediator. Such mediators could be discovered at the LHC if their masses are $\sim 1$ TeV. We constrain the DM-mediator couplings using relic abundance, direct detection, and flavor-changing neutral-current considerations. We find that, for reasonable values of its couplings, scalar…
We study a model for leptogenesis in which the total CP asymmetries in the decays and scatterings involving the SU(2) singlet seesaw neutrinos $N_α$ vanish ($ε_{N_α}=0$). Leptogenesis is possible due to non-vanishing CP violating lepton flavor asymmetries, realizing a situation in which the baryon asymmetry is due exclusively to flavor effects. We study the production of a net lepton asymmetry by solving the Boltzmann equations specific to this model, and we show that successful leptogenesis can be obtained at a scale as low as the TeV. We also discuss constraints on the model parameter space …
In this paper we preform a systematic study of the tau flavored dark matter model by introducing two kinds of mediators (a scalar doublet and a charged scalar singlet). The electromagnetic properties of the dark matter, as well as their implications in dark matter direct detections, are analyzed in detail. The model turns out contributing a significant radiative correction to the tau lepton mass, in addition to loosing the tension between the measured dark matter relic density and constraints of dark matter direct detections. The loop corrections can be ${\cal O}(10\%)$ of the total tau mass. …
We explore scalar dark matter that is part of a lepton flavor triplet satisfying symmetry requirements under the hypothesis of minimal flavor violation. Beyond the standard model, the theory contains in addition three right-handed neutrinos that participate in the seesaw mechanism for light neutrino mass generation. The dark-matter candidate couples to standard-model particles via Higgs-portal renormalizable interactions as well as to leptons through dimension-six operators, all of which have minimal flavor violation built-in. We consider restrictions on the new scalars from the Higgs boson me…
Orbifold grand unified theories (GUTs) solve several problems in GUT model building. Therefore, it is intriguing to investigate similar constructions in the flavor context. In this paper, we propose that a flavor symmetry might emerge due to orbifold compactification of one orbifold and broken by boundary conditions of another orbifold. The combination of the orbifold parities in gauge and flavor space determines the zero modes. We demonstrate the construction in a supersymmetric (SUSY) SO(10) x S_4 orbifold GUT model, which predicts the tribimaximal mixing at leading order in the lepton secto…
A More flavored Higgs boson arises when the flavor structure encoded in SUSY extensions of the SM is transmited to the Higgs sector. The flavor-Higgs transmition mechanism can have a radiative or mixing origin, as it is illustrated with several examples, and can produce interesting Higgs signatures that can be probed at future high-energy colliders. Within the MSSM, the flavor mediation mechanism can be of radiative type, as it is realized trhough gaugino-slepton loops, which transmit the flavor structture of the soft-breaking sector to the Higgs bosons. In particular we focus on evaluating th…
